Maytag 36 Inch Counter Depth Side-By-Side Refrigerator MRSC6636RZ

Owners consistently praise the Arctic blue interior, which makes contents easy to see despite the dark color, and the bright LED lighting. The side-by-side layout with ice maker in the door is popular for maximizing freezer space. Many reviewers highlight the sleek stainless steel exterior design, quiet operation, and excellent temperature control. The 20.55 cubic foot capacity is noted as spacious with good storage flexibility.

Most owners report the unit is quiet during normal operation. However, some reviewers note it becomes noticeably louder when the ice maker is dispensing ice, and a small number report the overall noise level is higher than expected or disruptive. One reviewer mentioned it runs quietly except during ice production, while another found it too noisy for sleeping.

Several reviewers report temperature fluctuations or uneven cooling zones, particularly on the left side of the fridge where some food froze unexpectedly in the first week. Multiple owners note high moisture content in the freezer causing frost buildup and items freezing to shelves. Most found these issues manageable by adjusting the thermostat or learning the temperature zones, though one reviewer experienced a defective unit that required replacement.

Owners appreciate the ice maker's location in the door, which saves freezer space, and the ability to select cubed or crushed ice. The measured water dispenser is also praised. However, a few reviewers report the ice maker broke shortly after purchase or within the first use, and one noted it takes time to produce ice. Water dispenser spray was mentioned as a minor issue by one owner.

Most reviewers are satisfied with the overall build and design. However, some note concerns: plastic drawers and shelves feel less sturdy than expected, meat and vegetable bins don't slide smoothly, the control screen worked loose on one unit, and scratches on the interior are very noticeable. A few owners also mention the unit feels cheaply made in places, though the stainless steel exterior is fingerprint-resistant and durable.

Reviewers note that shelves on both sides are not adjustable, which some found limiting for customization. One owner appreciated the shallow shelf depth for easier access, while another wished for more shelf height customization options. The freezer has glass shelves that some owners find impractical because items freeze to them.

One reviewer noted conflicting information between the website sizing diagrams and installation manuals regarding actual fridge width versus required cutout space, which caused confusion during installation. Owners should verify exact dimensions and space requirements before purchase. The unit is described as counter-depth by some reviewers.

Most owners report good storage capacity and are pleased with the space, noting it feels larger than expected once items are organized. However, a few reviewers mention the interior feels smaller than the exterior dimensions suggest, and one noted the side-by-side configuration doesn't offer the same capacity as other refrigerator styles. The door storage is praised for having multiple shelves.
