1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you subscribe to our price and recall alerts or contact us through our contact form. Fridge.com has no user accounts and no registration.

Fridge.com in ChatGPT

When a Fridge.com tool is used in ChatGPT, it receives the arguments needed to answer, such as a search phrase, FIN, model number, filter code, food name, a U.S. state, city or ZIP code you name, household size, calculator inputs such as yearly energy use and electricity rate, or shopping constraints including budget, dimensions and retailer preferences. The tool does not receive your complete conversation history or require a Fridge.com account. Hosting and abuse prevention process request metadata, including IP address and user agent.

Tool analytics record the tool name, whether it succeeded, latency, result count, and coarse query and client categories; the query text is not an analytics property. Each tool event sent to our product analytics provider also carries a pseudonymous key that changes every day, made by one-way hashing the request's IP address and user agent with the date, plus an identifier for that one tool call. The events are marked so that the provider creates no person profile from them. When a tool call fails, our host's error log records the error type with the same call identifier. Widget analytics record independent render and click events, including widget type, result count, result position and FIN when available. They do not carry a tool-call or conversation identifier. These analytics are sent to our product analytics provider to measure usage and diagnose failures.

Links can identify ChatGPT as the referring channel without carrying a tool trace. Once you visit Fridge.com, the website measurement described in section 4 applies. Our hosting provider keeps the request logs for this site for 1 day. Our error monitoring provider keeps error reports for no more than 90 days. Our product analytics provider applies no event-retention window to this project (checked 09/29/2026), so these tool and widget events carry no automatic deletion date; its session recordings are kept for 30 days (checked 10/02/2026). Privacy and deletion requests use the contact form in section 10.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

Site functions — for example, remembering your comparison list and recently viewed products in your browser.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4, PostHog, and our hosting provider's cookieless page-view and performance measurement — to understand how the site is used and how it performs, including anonymized PostHog session replay in which anything you type into a form is masked.
Affiliate-link tracking, so retailers can attribute a purchase to Fridge.com.
Error monitoring (Sentry), which receives technical error reports when something on the site breaks. When analytics is permitted and an anonymous analytics identifier already exists, error reports reuse that identifier to count affected browsers. No separate identifier is created for this purpose.

We do not serve advertising and do not use advertising or social-media tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (see section 7).

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask you before any of the analytics above run, and nothing is stored until you allow it. You can change that answer at any time:

5. Affiliate Links and Commissions

Fridge.com participates in affiliate marketing programs. When you click on certain links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This helps support our content creation and website operations.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have certain rights regarding your personal information:

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
