Which filter fits my refrigerator?: Use the appliance model from its rating label or the number printed on the existing filter. The finder shows available sourced matches. A similar shape or brand name alone does not confirm fit.
OEM or compatible replacement?: Compare the exact filter model, supported appliance models and documented certifications. An aftermarket compatibility claim does not make it the same product as the manufacturer filter.
How do I compare the cost?: Compare the same filter and pack quantity. Use the per-filter price where available; check shipping and the retailer total before buying. Missing offers are not a zero price.

Where to find your model number

Back to the finder ↑

The model number is on the data label — a printed or metal plate that also carries the serial number. It is never on the door front. Find your refrigerator style below; the dot marks the most common label position, and the note lists the other places manufacturers use for that style.

French door
Inside the fresh-food compartment: on the left or right side wall near the top, on the ceiling, or on the frame just inside the left door.
Side-by-side
Inside the fresh-food (right-hand) compartment: on the side wall or ceiling, or on the wall behind the top crisper drawer.
Top freezer
Inside the fresh-food (lower) compartment: on the left side wall near the front, or on the ceiling just inside the door.
Bottom freezer
Inside the fresh-food (upper) compartment: on a side wall near the top or on the ceiling; some models print it inside the door frame.
4-door and flex-zone
Inside the upper fresh-food compartment on a side wall or the ceiling, the same place as a French-door model.
Compact and mini
Inside on a side wall or the back wall, or on the plate fixed to the exterior back panel.
Wine and beverage coolers
On the plate fixed to the exterior back panel, or inside near the top of the cabinet behind the door.
Chest and upright freezers
Chest: on the exterior back or side panel near the base. Upright: inside on a side wall or the door frame.

Where the filter number is printed

The part number is printed on the cartridge itself — on the label wrapped around the body or on the cap — so the fastest route is to pull the current filter and read it. Where the cartridge lives depends on the refrigerator:

Upper-right corner of the fresh-food compartment
Most GE side-by-side and bottom-freezer models (MWF, XWFE, MSWF, GSWF).
Upper-left corner or the door of the fresh-food compartment
GE French-door models (RPWFE), Samsung French-door models (HAF-QIN), LG French-door models (LT1000P).
Base grille below the doors, quarter-turn cartridge
Many Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid and Amana models (everydrop Filter 1, 3, 4, 5).
Inside the fresh-food compartment behind or beside the crisper drawers
Samsung side-by-side and French-door models (HAF-CIN), Frigidaire and Electrolux models (ULTRAWF, WF3CB).
Rear water line, in-line cartridge
Refrigerators without a built-in filter and some ice makers (everydrop Filter 6 and universal in-line filters).
