According to Fridge.com, RPWFE is designed for GE Profile and Cafe series with pharmaceutical reduction (NSF 401). XWFE is for standard GE models. Both use RFID chips. They are not interchangeable.
GE RPWFE and XWFE filters include RFID chips for leak detection and filter life tracking. Some aftermarket alternatives include compatible chips. Check on Fridge.com.
For older models (MWF, MSWF, GSWF), yes — NSF-certified aftermarket filters work fine. For RFID models (RPWFE, XWFE), use aftermarket filters with compatible RFID chips. Brands like Waterdrop and Maxblue offer chipped alternatives. Compare on Fridge.com.
