Maytag 36 Inch Freestanding Refrigerator MRFF4136RZ

This French-door model has a capacity of 25.2 cubic feet, with a spacious refrigerator section and a large pull-out freezer drawer at the bottom. Reviewers consistently praise the generous storage, noting it easily accommodates groceries for families and allows flexible organization with adjustable shelves and compartments.

This refrigerator features a built-in ice maker located inside the freezer compartment rather than in the door, which eliminates the door-mounted water and ice dispensers. Many owners appreciate this design because it prevents water leaks at the door and provides more usable space in the refrigerator section. The ice maker produces ice efficiently and keeps up well with household demand.

Opinions on noise vary among owners. Many report the unit operates quietly or with only a low hum, and some note it is nearly silent. However, several reviewers report the compressor and fan produce noticeable noise when running, particularly in quiet environments. A few describe it as annoyingly loud. Noise levels may depend on usage patterns and ambient conditions.

This model uses 615 kWh per year and is recognized by owners as energy efficient. Several reviewers specifically mention appreciating the energy efficiency rating, particularly in the context of rising energy costs, and note it as a practical benefit of the purchase.

Most owners report satisfactory temperature control, but a few have noted concerns. One reviewer reported the freezer temperature fluctuating by 4–5 degrees per hour, while another mentioned water accumulating on top of the freezer drawer. Most users find the freezer performs well, though some note the pull-out drawer design requires reaching back to access the ice bucket, which can be inconvenient.

The French-door refrigerator section with a bottom-mounted pull-out freezer drawer is a standout feature that most owners love for its convenience and accessibility. The design makes it easy to organize and retrieve items without opening both doors. A few reviewers noted the doors can swing open abruptly or that door alignment issues occurred after installation, but these appear to be isolated cases rather than widespread problems.

Most owners report good build quality and durability. However, a few reviewers noted issues such as misaligned freezer drawers, hinges not fully painted at the factory, door alignment problems after installation, and hardware that occasionally misaligns. One owner mentioned the finish quality is not as robust as expected. These issues appear in a minority of units and may reflect isolated manufacturing or installation variations.

This model includes a 10-year warranty on the compressor, which several owners cited as a key factor in their purchase decision. This extended compressor warranty reflects the brand's confidence in the unit's durability.
