LG - 36-in Wide 27.7 cu. ft. French Door Smart Refrigerator With External Ice And Water - Black Stainless Steel LRFS28XBD

This model provides 27.9 cubic feet of total capacity with a spacious layout that reviewers consistently praise. The French door design with a bottom freezer drawer offers plenty of room for both fresh and frozen items, and many owners note the flexible interior organization makes it easy to store everything they need.

Yes, multiple owners report that this model operates quietly. Reviewers specifically mention it as a standout feature, making it a good choice if noise level is a concern.

The refrigerator features a slimline door dispenser that delivers both water and ice without taking up much interior shelf space. Most owners find it convenient and report it works well without dripping. However, a few note the water cools quickly but may become lukewarm after dispensing about one cup, and some mention the single paddle for both water and ice takes adjustment compared to separate controls.

This model uses approximately 726 kilowatt-hours per year, making it a reasonably efficient choice for a full-size French door refrigerator.

Several owners report that one or both doors do not close or stay closed properly without manual effort or extra force. Some describe doors closing by themselves or popping open after closing the other door, while others note doors require significant force to shut or do not close automatically. This appears to be a design concern that affects a meaningful subset of units.

Experiences with the ice maker vary. Some owners report it works reliably and makes perfect cubes, while others have experienced failures within the first two years, including issues with the craft ice feature and slow ice production rates. A few units required replacement or warranty service within months of purchase.

The water filter can be tricky to replace and may require careful handling to avoid damage. One owner broke the filter stem during replacement and had to have a technician install a new system. It's also important to ensure the filter is properly inserted, as improper installation can affect water taste.

A few design considerations have been noted: the water dispenser cup holder has a convex curve that doesn't securely hold glasses, the freezer drawer surface is very smooth causing items to slide around, glass shelves tilt slightly toward the center, and there is no visible temperature gauge showing actual compartment temperatures. Additionally, accessing the cold cuts/eggs drawer may require opening both doors.
