This GE Appliances chest freezer offers substantial storage space for families who need extra freezing capacity. The unit measures 65 inches wide, 33.38 inches high, and 28.5 inches deep, making it suitable for garage, basement, or utility room placement. The chest-style design provides efficient cold air retention, as cold air naturally stays low when the lid is opened. This configuration works well for storing bulk purchases, seasonal harvests, or meal prep items. The horizontal layout allows for organized storage of various frozen goods, from meats and vegetables to prepared meals and ice cream. GE Appliances designs their products for real-life use, focusing on reliability and practical functionality for everyday household needs.

Owners Answer
The questions shoppers ask, answered from real owner reviews and discussions across the web — not the manufacturer spec sheet. See the spec FAQ below for the official numbers.
What makes the sliding baskets such a popular feature?Based on 17 owner mentions
The freezer comes with four sliding baskets that help organize food and prevent items from getting lost at the bottom of the unit. Reviewers consistently praise how the baskets make it easy to separate different food types, access items without digging, and maximize usable storage space. Many owners note they appreciate the ability to add extra baskets for even better organization.
Does this freezer have an interior light, and how bright is it?Based on 5 owner mentions
Yes, the freezer includes an LED interior light under the lid. Reviewers consistently report that the light is bright and makes it much easier to find items inside the freezer without having to reach around in the dark.
What temperature and power-loss alarms does this freezer have?Based on 4 owner mentions
The freezer includes both a visual alarm for power loss and an audible alarm that sounds if the temperature rises too high. Multiple reviewers highlight these safety features as valuable, especially for protecting food investment and providing peace of mind.
How does this freezer perform in terms of noise level?Based on 3 owner mentions
Most reviewers report the freezer runs quietly or very quietly. However, a few owners note it makes a whooshing or air-moving sound when the compressor runs, which is typical for chest freezers but worth knowing if you plan to place it in a living space rather than a garage.
What are the dimensions, and will it fit in a garage?Based on 4 owner mentions
The freezer measures 65 inches wide, 33.4 inches high, and 28.5 inches deep. Reviewers consistently report it fits well in garage spaces and note that its rectangular, longer shape is more compact than some older models, making it suitable for standard garage installations.
How long does it take to cool down when first plugged in?Based on 1 owner mention
New freezers take a while to reach full cooling capacity when first turned on. One reviewer noted it was long to cool initially, which is normal for chest freezers and should not be a concern.
Are there any recurring durability or reliability issues I should know about?Based on 8 owner mentions
While the majority of owners report excellent performance, a notable minority have experienced compressor failures within 2–4 years of purchase, and some have reported excessive frost buildup or lid seal gaps. These issues appear to affect a smaller percentage of units, but given the cost of the appliance, it's worth understanding the warranty coverage and considering extended protection if available.
Is the power cord long enough to position the freezer flexibly?Based on 1 owner mention
One reviewer noted the power cord is relatively short, which may limit where you can position the freezer in relation to the nearest outlet. It's worth measuring your intended location and outlet placement before purchase to ensure adequate reach.
