Whirlpool - 36 in. Wide 25 cu. ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator With Frameless Glass Shelves - Black WRS335SDHB

Noise is a recurring concern among owners. Many report the motor and compressor run loudly and constantly, with some saying it's audible throughout the home and can disturb sleep. A few owners note it works well despite the noise, and Whirlpool service has indicated that fan noise is characteristic of this model. If quiet operation is important to you, this may not be the best choice.

The refrigerator offers 25 cubic feet of capacity with adjustable shelving and good spacing overall. Most owners find the interior roomy and appreciate the flexible shelf arrangement. However, some note that shelf adjustment options are limited in certain areas, and the tall shelf at the top can be difficult to reach for those with limited mobility. Door pockets and pull-out drawers are well-designed and hold multiple items.

The ice maker and water dispenser are popular features, with many owners praising their functionality and accessibility. However, several report issues including jamming, loud operation, water leaking from the dispenser tray, and water splashing if the cup is moved too quickly. Some also note stale-tasting water initially due to water sitting in the line. Overall, the features work well when functioning properly, but reliability concerns exist.

Several owners report door-related problems, including doors that swing open too far or too wide, difficulty keeping them closed, and misalignment where one door appears mounted higher than the other. Some have had the door serviced multiple times without resolution. A few owners also note the stainless steel door material shows corrosion and is difficult to keep clean without streaks.

Several owners report significant reliability issues early in ownership, including cooling failures, ice maker breakdowns, and compressor problems. Service response has been a major frustration for many—some waited weeks or months for repairs, and a few report difficulty getting Whirlpool to authorize replacements for defective units. Builders often defer to Whirlpool, leaving homeowners to navigate warranty claims. Extended warranties are recommended by some owners due to these concerns.

Owners who appreciate the side-by-side layout find it works well with good spacing and easy access to both fridge and freezer. However, those transitioning from top-freezer models note the refrigerator compartment is noticeably narrower, which can feel cramped. Some also report the freezer compartment is tight for large items. Overall, it suits the side-by-side preference but may feel smaller than traditional top-freezer designs.

Owners consistently praise the modern sleek design, spacious interior layout, and convenient features like the water and ice dispenser, accessible ice cube container, and locking feature for children. The door pockets and pull-out drawers are well-designed, and several owners appreciate the energy efficiency and overall functionality when the unit works properly. Many also value the brand reputation and trust in Whirlpool.
