Gathering the reviews
We continuously collect owner reviews and public discussions from major retailers and community forums, de-duplicate them, and set aside anything we can’t tie to a verified purchase.
Calculating the average
Averaged across every source we found (Amazon, AJ Madison, and other retailers). Each source counts in proportion to how many ratings it has, so a store with thousands of reviews moves the number more than one with only a handful.

Owners Answer
The questions shoppers ask, answered from real owner reviews and discussions across the web — not the manufacturer spec sheet. See the spec FAQ below for the official numbers.
How spacious is this refrigerator?Based on 6 owner mentions
This French-door refrigerator offers 24.7 cubic feet of capacity. Most owners praise its spacious layout and find it roomy for families, though some note that the large ice maker takes up notable space in the upper refrigerator section, reducing shelf space for food storage.
Is the ice maker loud?Based on 8 owner mentions
The ice maker is a recurring concern for noise. Multiple owners report it produces loud sounds—described as gunshot-like when ice drops, or resembling a garbage disposal or lawn mower when filling. Some find it startling or disruptive, especially at night, though a few report it works well without excessive noise. Placement away from bedrooms may help mitigate the impact.
What is the energy consumption of this refrigerator?Based on 1 owner mention
This model uses approximately 685 kilowatt-hours per year. This is a standard mid-range consumption level for a French-door refrigerator of this capacity.
Does the ice maker work reliably?Based on 7 owner mentions
Several owners report ice maker issues within the first few months of ownership, including jamming, failure to produce ice, and freezing problems in the dispenser chute. However, many others report the ice maker works well and produces ice quickly. When issues occur, Whirlpool's warranty service has generally responded promptly, though some owners have experienced delays in scheduling repairs.
How is the interior layout and storage configuration?Based on 4 owner mentions
Owners have mixed feedback on the interior design. Many appreciate the spacious layout and separate water/ice dispensers, but some find the deli drawer spans the full width (requiring both doors to open for access) and note that the large ice maker reduces usable refrigerator shelf space. Door shelves and drawer organization are generally well-regarded, though some owners report issues with shelf leveling or stability.
What quality and durability issues have owners experienced?Based on 7 owner mentions
Some owners have reported defects on arrival (dents, misaligned doors) or within the first year (compressor failure, water valve issues, door seal problems, cracked shelves). Most issues were resolved through warranty service, though repair scheduling and service availability have been inconsistent in some areas. The majority of owners report reliable performance, but early-stage failures do occur in a subset of units.
Is this refrigerator easy to set up and use?Based on 3 owner mentions
Most owners report straightforward setup and intuitive controls. The water and ice dispenser features work well for most users, though some note the dispenser opening can be tight for larger cups. Filter changes are described as easy. A few owners have had difficulty with specific features like door alarms or leveling the unit.

- Very Happy With the Purchase
This refrigerator works perfectly fine and does exactly what I need it to do. I have it set up in my laundry room, and it’s been a great addition there. It keeps everything cold and runs reliably. The only downside is that it does make a fairly loud noise for a brief moment when it cycles on. It’s not constant, but it is noticeable. If I were using it in my kitchen, the noise might bother me. However, since it’s in the laundry room, I can just close the door and it’s no issue at all. Overall, I’m very happy with it for my needs and would recommend it, especially for a secondary space like a garage or laundry room.

Giants FnJan 2, 2026 - Refrig review
Refrigerator came with a house that we purchased in October. The most part we’re happy with it, but at times it makes a loud noise. We think it is related to the icemaker. and it can be annoying at times.
