Very Happy With the Purchase

This refrigerator works perfectly fine and does exactly what I need it to do. I have it set up in my laundry room, and it’s been a great addition there. It keeps everything cold and runs reliably. The only downside is that it does make a fairly loud noise for a brief moment when it cycles on. It’s not constant, but it is noticeable. If I were using it in my kitchen, the noise might bother me. However, since it’s in the laundry room, I can just close the door and it’s no issue at all. Overall, I’m very happy with it for my needs and would recommend it, especially for a secondary space like a garage or laundry room.

Bought this a week ago, space is amazing, drawers great, ice maker and water are easy to use and filter change is pretty simple. Only minor complaint is the loudness when it cycles every so often, it can be loud initially compared to previous fridge, but it’s infrequent and already I barely notice it. Very happy and would recommend.

We love our new refrigerator! Sleek design, spacious freezer and love the gallon size shelving on the door. Easy to keep clean inside with little effort with no nooks and crannies for dirt to get into. I only have one complaint - the ice maker is huge and takes up a lot of space in the refrigerator space. We don’t use the ice maker/water dispenser on the fridge - our water tastes horrible here and we prefer to buy bottled spring water.

Shiny New French Door Fridge!

We purchased this unit as a replacement for a Kenmore French Door unit that moved to our garage for drinks and overflow. It looks great in the kitchen, matching the other new stainless appliances we got at the same time. The ice function is strong (important during the summer!) but the unit takes up more space than in my previous machine. We are having to get used to the deli drawer being on top of the fruits & vegetables drawers (which is the opposite of how the previous refrigerator was set up). I would change this, if possible. The left-hand door (where the ice comes through, is extra heavy and tends to slam shut. We had a Whirlpool tech out to fix an issue with leveling the doors and he said it was engineered that way so that it wouldn't accidentally get left open. We are still figuring out the best configuration of items in the refrigerator portion because the placement of the filter and the ice maker are so different from our last unit, but overall we are happy with this purchase.

Love frig but needed to call when ice maker quit. I called many times, they called back, was on hold another 20 minutes then got cut off. Tried again then tried the Whirlpool web site. I have a warranty and got extra warranty to find out you don’t service this area! I find this to be crap service but I figured out the problem I hope, so far still working. I don’t know why you don’t get in touch with Drummond Refrigeration in Rawlins WY to maybe set up a good contract with them to serve this area in WY.

I have only had this fridge for a couple of weeks, so I don't have long-term feedback. However, it seems to function well. The in-door water/ice feature works well. The biggest frustration is that the bottom of the doors has space for more storage, but there is no option for another shelf. I'm guessing it needs room for air circulation, but when you buy a fridge that says 25 cu. ft. you expect to be able to utilize all of it. Other than that, it is pretty nice. The drawers seem a little silly and awkward, but they are functional.

Planning ahead always works for anyone. We came from a crampy Amana side-by-side that we had for the past 9 years, no retired to the back porch, and upgraded our selves to this cavernous beauty. As with any purchase you all need to really, really, prepare yourselves to receive your new appliance, even read the digital manuals -before arrival-, familiarize yourself with the install. Purchase your own stainless mesh covered water line, the black fiber covered one that will come with the installation is not good. That's what we did proactively. Even monitoring the temperature in the kitchen to avoid condensation. Of course wipe clean all interior surfaces of your new fridge, as a first step. Here is what we did: 1) Flush the new water line for 5-10 minutes before connecting it to the refrigerator, to remove any factory dirt or debris. 2) Turn OFF the ice maker from the front panel, connect the water line to the fridge, then open the valve. 3) Flush the water dispenser (and consequently the water filter) with at least 1 gallon of water, we did 2 gallons; yes people read the instructions of the filter, it needs to be flushed every-single-time you install a new one. 4) Turn ON the ice maker from the front panel. 5) Configure your shelves the way it works best for you. 6) Let the fridge sit -with no food in it- for a day or two. We had thermometers inside both compartments to make sure it was reaching the desired temperatures. We left the freezer at the default of 0 degrees F, but lowered the fridge to 37 degrees F; yes I like anything liquid very cold. 7) Dump all the ice made in that day or two. 8) Once that fridge is stable after that day or two, then-and-only-then place your goods inside it. You might want to enable the "fast cool" after you finish filling the fridge and freezer. Most of the indicated above is what the majority of the bad reviewers did not do, thus having bad experiences. About the door and the alarm, people you only have to make sure you closed the door(s) before walking away, -do not- hope it closed, -do not- hope to be alerted by an alarm or that little red light, we are not children, close the door shut, then walk away. We waited exactly 60 days of operation to review this new fridge WRFF3436RZ00 which we ordered directly from Whirlpool at a better price than the hardware store, and it have performed as designed, advertised and manufactured for. Noisy? Water valve filling the ice maker once in a while, very hush motor running to keep temperatures, ice dispensing a little "wild"?. That is not noisy, unless you wish to be very quiet at 3AM. We have no complaints so far, as it is supposed to be: install and forget. Good purchase of the fridge we ever wanted.

So far, so good. Had it for a couple of weeks now and all is well. The ice maker is popping out ice at a great pace. I put a couple of thermometers in it to check the temperature and they show it maintains the selected temperature extremely well. The French doors are very handy once you remember how you have stored items and where they are. I wish there was a way to keep the icons on the door lit up. Shelves and door bins are well constructed and give room and easy access to a wide variety of items. The freezer is nicely designed and actually quite easy to access. It also maintains a very consistent temperature extremely well.

We've had this fridge for a month and I like it. My wife particularly likes the crushed ice it produces and I have to admit the through the door water is convenient. The refrigerator seems spacious, and easy to see what all is inside. However, the freezer on bottom is less easy to see what is in it. The stainless steel finish really is fingerprint resistant and that's a plus.

Therr are a few things that could be better. First the left door won't close all the way by itself. You have to push it to close and it is difficult to tell it isn't close. And the second is that there is no alarm to tell it is open just a small red light on the panel. And then the button to remov e the ice tub. It is so hard to push that I couldn't do it and I had my adult son had a hard time with it also. And the icemaker takes up so much room that you lose a lot of the shelf and door shelf. Overall it leaved a lot to be desired but it was affordable and keeps things cold. .

Happy We Purchased Another Whirlpool Fridge

We bought this fridge to replace our Maytag(Whirlpool) that was purchased new in 2008. The new one is pretty close to identical. The pluses of the new one: operates more quietly, sturdier water & ice dispenser push bars, ice size & shape better for all containers. The only things we miss are the raise/lower lever to turn the one shelf higher or lower without emptying it and the space on the left door is not as large(top skinny shelf is not useable)

The brackets that hold both doors have a cheap look. The space inside the bridge is smaller than the regular 2 French doors, like the one I previously had. The ice maker is noisy, hopefully this last me 20 years like my old one. The shelf material is cheap, the ones in my old Whirlpool fridge were more sturdy.

Also the cold cuts storage container, is not deep enough, has to much wasted space. Besides those things it’s a great refrigerator. I love the ice and water dispenser.

I bought this last week. Everything seems to be working fine. We went with this model because the shelves could be moved at different levels. The only disappointment is the water and ice dispenser. It's harder to get water and ice dispensed when using a bigger container.

We were offered a buy back on our 3 year old Whirlpool side by side because the ice maker quit and the only repair for that was to replace the entire door. The new door did not match the other door and after reordering twice it was decided it could not be repaired appropriately. We got a buy back and bought this Whirlpool. The only issue we have so far is the fan makes more noise than our old Whirlpool

This is a good value refrigerator. i have a similiar model without ice/water in the door. There is a pull out tray to set you cup on to fill with water or ice. They left off the tray that would sit on the shelf so you have to watch your cup doesn't sit on the raised edge and tip over.

The first refrigerator had multiple problems. It needed to be replaced but every person I talked to kept telling me things I needed to do and try. It was extremely stressful and the local contracted appliance company I had to use to set up multiple service appointments were extremely rude on the phone. Problem started on day of closing, June 12 and it was finally replaced July 7th.

So far, so good! Bought this unit @homedepot a few weeks ago. Although the same measurement size as the GE fridge we replaced, this unit has a raised waste line and that 100% gives us the feel of the shelves internally being centered vertically, if you can imagine that. Makes reaching inside to access stuff a breeze! The stance on this unit works well for us too. We're not tall ppl (5'5 - 5'9), so the centering aspect just compliments us in an unexpected but very practical way. Spacing in the freezer is good. The French door storage bins give you all kinds of looks but are functional. However, you'll be limited w/ the multi-height adjustable shelving. Whirlpool had to compromise somewhere on this unit to jam in all of the functionality. But, you'll get over the adjustable shelving quickly enough. It's ample. Of note, the unit does make a very audible low-buzz sound from time to time when the ice maker is turned on. Not a big deal, though, but just so you know. Again, a good unit with good marks from the family...thumbs up!

We purchased this after our previous fridge’s compressor failed for the third time in under 9 years. “Works” was our #1 criteria, but so far we love this fridge! Outside, it looks great and fits the tight space we have better than the old one, and we didn’t sacrifice any interior storage space. Inside we love the deep gallon storage bins in the door, and the deli drawer was a must have. The ice maker is huge! Just what our large family needs. And the drawer freezer is spacious and the wire drawer makes it feel sturdy and ready to stand up to a lot of use. Overall we couldn’t be more pleased with our choice!

We had to replace our 24-yea- old Kitchenaid. Regretfully, we found that all the newer models are not of the same quality. However, Whirlpool has the best reputation for quality so ended up buying one. Had better lighting than most others, plus we wanted adjustable shelves. Attractive and works great. Drawers slide smoothly. However, when it drops the ice into the storage container, it is noisy. The water dispenser is more touchy than our old one, have to have the glass just right. When the ice comes out, you better be ready because it drops a lot at once. We had a side-by-side before and replaced it with the French Door model. Although nice, still prefer the side-by-side. Things we did not think about when looking for a new one, do the doors open enough to get the bins out for cleaning and removing the ice tray? Did not think about the fact you have to open both doors to use the deli drawer and open the left storage bin which lets more cold air out. However, all in all, we are happy with it. The main thing is it keeps the items uniformly cold, and there does not seem to be any sections in the refrig where it keeps the items so cold they ice up.

I bought this without reading the reviews, my bad. Cons: The fridge is not a quiet running fridge. The ice/water is very loud. So loud that when the ice maker is on and the motor runs for a few seconds that we make ice then turn it off till we need more. When getting water, that is loud also plus can't fit tall items, so I have to use my finger to push the top to get water out. The inside, not fond of the way it is set up due to the configuration of the shelves. The freezer, not as much room as I thought there would be being a bottom drawer, but is suffice. Pros: inside deli drawer is long and useful. The two fruit/vegy drawers, I give them a 4 out of 5; we can fit same amount of stuff as in our previous fridge. We can fit more of the taller items than our previous fridge. The doors have a fair amount of storage spots also.

We were looking for a French Door refrigerator with a bottom freezer. This model seemed to fit the bill. We have had this unit for a week now. The ice maker is inside the refrigerator and produces about 6-8 full glasses of ice. I wish that it produced a little more. The drawers for cold cuts, fruits and vegetables as well as the door shelves which hold condiments and such are just ok. I wish they seemed more sturdy. Otherwise, we are enjoying this Whirlpool refrigerator very much.

I have been using my new fridge for nearly a month and am very happy with the amount of space it offers, both in the refrigerator section and the freezer. The ice maker is wonderful. After a crowd on Memorial day it never failed to produce an abundance of ice. love how the left hand door closes even if the side is already closed. I appreciate the wide deli drawer, however I have to get used to opening both doors to accommodate it.

We recently bought this as a replacement for nearly the exact one that we'd had for a long time. It works well and does exactly what you'd expect for a great price. 4 stars though for these two reasons: 1. when you get ice from the dispenser, it is incredibly loud! Way louder that the fridge we replaced. Annoying loud. 2. The paddles you push against to get ice and water are crazy hard to push and hold for ice or water. Very hard to push, very hard to hold for dispensing. Other than that, very pleased with the layout of the interior.

The only couple things that I wasn't happy with is that it was delivered w a manufacturing freezer drawer defect which took 3 months to get replace after delivery and in the freezer drawer there is no easy way to remove the top basket for cleaning the bottom drawer in freezer.

This wasn't the Whirlpool refrigerator I was looking at but I am happy with my purchase. The only downside is the ice maker is noisy, but I am getting used to it. I also have a hard time pulling the ice bin out because of arthritis in my hands. All in all I really do like my new fridge.

This Whirlpool refrigerator was purchased to replace our LG. We didn't want to get another LG, because ours only lasted 12 years. However, upon reading the Whirlpool literature and reviews, we found out that theirs are only rated for 12 years, as well. That is disappointing, to say the least. The Whirlpool refrigerator seems to be made cheaper, with more plastic than our LG had. It also has less space due to the large ice compartment. I don't know if I would purchase this refrigerator again.

I want to say that I did not choose this fridge. It was provided by the builder. Fairly quiet. Huge freezer. A little too big for us. Now the fridge part is way too small mainly shelf space. There is a huge ice maker device that takes up 1/4 to 1/3 of the top area inside fridge. Total waste of space. Not much door space either. The fruit and veggie drawers and deli drawers are a good size.

Not so good, cheap quality

We had a Samsung French door refrigerator and this Whirlpool 36” French door refrigerator was the replacement (our Samsung lasted about 17 years). First thing I noticed is the plastic shelves seem a little thinner! The refrigerator was delivered on January 21, 2025 and today 08/25/2025 we will have a technician fix the handle since it somehow detached from the knob! So far I think the quality is not that good! The top shelf is freezing my eggs! I got an extended warranty since I fear I will have to call for service often! I don’t recommend it! It seems not as deep or big inside (I have the very same space and the Samsung was roomier)! Not happy with my purchase! My mom is telling me everyday how the Samsung was better but I couldn’t find the same size!

Nothing to rave at.

I didn’t upgrade my appliances in buying a new home and would NEVER purchase a refrigerator such as the one I received. The inside configuration is awful. I can’t fill an insulated bottle because it is too tall for the allowable space. If one of the doors is open too long there is no alarm; same with freezer. If there is one I don’t hear it because I am hearing impaired.

Poor repair process.

This product came with a defective water valve from the start. Even though I paid for a 5 year warranty, the dealer would not come out to fix it. I had to call whirlpool and get a different dealer repair. The new valve lasted about 2 days and the new valve started making the same noise sporadically. They came back and the repairman of course did not hear it since it was not acting up at the moment. So he left without making the repair. It still does it. It is not normal.

Bad luck so far

Not enough ice

We have had this refrigerator let than a month. We like the layout of both compartments. First disappointment is the volume of ice it holds, maybe 3 large mugs. It will not keep up with our family of 3. Second, when the ice is harvested it sounds like a gun shot from the kitchen and when the ice tray fills it sounds like a garbage disposal running or a lawn mower started in the garage. The ice maker is a major problem with this unit. Third, the other issue we have that it does not keep temperature at suggest setting (freezer "0", frige compartment at 38 degrees). We are told it is with in Whirlpool's range (4 or 5 degrees of suggested range) to me it should reach and maintain "suggested" temps.

I'm on hold with Whirlpool now to see if I can get them to look at the motor as it seems to be coming from the ice maker.

I bought this refrigerator in June 2025 and the ice maker, dispenser, stopped working. The technician indicated that the motor seized and had to be replaced. I found that to be somewhat concerning with the quality if a component fails within a short period of time. Secondly, there is no Alarm on the door if it is left open for a period of time. Our last refrigerator had that feature and I expected to have it on this unit.

My refrigerator functions very well for the most part. My only problem with it so far is the placement of the controls. The controls should be placed inside of the refrigerator out of sight so guests don’t mistake them for something else. I have only had my refrigerator for a couple of months and already I have had my ice maker turned off twice and also have had the entire system shut down. Everyone thinks they have something to do with dispensing ice or water. My only complaint is poor placement of controls. SMH!!

Compared to our previous Maytag refrigerator, this one is sufficient. However, there are two issues that we have noticed. The first issue is the loud noise it makes when the water fills the ice maker. I never notice this noise in our old fridge. The second issue is the loss of space in the shelving. I have adjusted the shelves to get the most area of space for taller items and am just disappointed that I have lost space for varying heights of containers like I had in the previous fridge. Other than these issues the fridge is doing the job. I will have to manage big family gatherings with coolers as the refrigerator space is limited. I wish I had compared the surface space before buying.

Don't like the way the meat tray takes up the whole width, requiring both doors to be open to slide the tray out. Also, the pull out drawers seem cheap and wobbly. The compressor makes a very loud noise frequently. Also, the left door has to be specifically paid attention to as it doesn't always close. The the amount of space the ice makers takes up it does not produce a lot of ice. My line of work i am outside all day and I need my water cold but have to fill at night to use the days ice and hopefully have enough to fill the rest of my waters in the morning. Also the freezer drawer is not as spacious as one would hope it would be, I thought the drawer would hold items more effectively, but what was gained in width was lost in height. Otherwise the refrigerator seems to function well.

Inefficient shelf layout for 25 cu ft capacity

It is the worst refrigerator I have ever owned. The Ice Maker makes a horrible noise after the ice is dumped. The Ice maker froze up and water started dripping out through the door because the ice melted in the tray. Cleaned out in the morning and by 4:00 in the afternoon if malfunctioned again with water dripping out the door. I have only had this refrigerator for a total of 4 months, service has replaced the icemaker once already. But now it is the whole compartment not working in that the ice melts. I would give it Zero Stars if possible. I have images but you website would not let me upload.

Had to call the repair guy because ice would not drop out of the shoot after about a month and discovered there's a seal that is not smooth which is letting air coming in and melting of the ice in the shoot causing it to freeze up and won't let the ice come out.it took 3 days to make ice.

Not satisfied at all.

I bought this over a month ago and am not really happy with the appliance. I called whirlpool to make an appointment to have someone to command check out the refrigerator that we purchased. Guinco came out and told me it was just the way it was made. There was not any thing we could do about it. 1) The problem I'm having is when I open the left upper door and close the door it pops open the right door. Sometime the left door doesn't close all the way. (2) The ice maker makes a loud popping sound before it dumps the ice. The ice is very loud when dumping in the storage bin. This is more annoying than anything because my old whirlpool refrigerator never did that and was very quiet. The reason we bought a new on is because the problem was it was freezing up behind the crisper drawers in the back. this was addressed several times and some parts were replaced by Guinco. We kept having the same problem and with the warranty expiring it was too much to fix and not knowing if the fix would correct the problem. We kept the old refrigerator and put it in the utility room for extra space but did not hook up the ice maker or the water line. We have not had a problem with it at all since then. I mentioned it to the service technician when he came to check out the new refrigerator and all he could say was he couldn't see where that would have been a problem. I feel that I haven't gotten a reliable answer for any of the problems. If the problem on the old one had been addressed and solved then I wouldn't have had to buy the new one. Now having this issue with the new refrigerator I feel I have just thrown away money. I don't think I will be buying another whirlpool product in the future because its like pulling teeth to get something corrected and then it still isn't fixed.

This model no great features

This is the second time it was replaced with the same issues within in 6 months !!Now service technician came out and tells me nothing wrong !!! That icemaker jams up often and condensation is normal!! Not very happy with this model!!’

whirlpool is a good name but...

bought this a month ago and I do not like it. I wish I would not have bought it. The ice maker takes up way too much shelf space in the refrigerator and ice door is hard to open. There are no breakaway shelves so no room for tall things. Only 1 light in the top and of the refrigerator and it runs from the front to the back. If I put a carton on eggs on the top shelf under the light, it blocks the light for the rest of the refrigerator. I just want my old refrigerator back. I do like the water dispenser. The ice is half moon shaped ice and not very big so it melts really quick.

I bought this Refrigerator roughly a month ago because of the name. The ice maker is NOT making ice. Yes water is coming from the water outlet. I now have to call for repair.

Bad Choise, Don't Buy

It's been a month, and I'm so disliking it. Key issues 1) If you open only the left door, it doesn't close easily, as it imgets a lillte stuck against the right door. So you ned to slam it with a little force 2) Tonopen the middle (wide) deli drawer, yiu need to open both the doors. So it's inconvenient to remove anything from it easily andcquickly. 3) It's super noisy 4) Its not energy-efficient

This was the third Whirlpool equipment n the past two months as the previous two had condensation issues. The current one seems to be holding up. The team were very efficient in replacing the equipment and without any fuss. Lots of space in the fridge and freezer, love the additional feature such as water dispenser.

I am very disappointed in this refrigerator It is very loud. The refrigerator space inside is very poorly designed, as the ice maker takes up alot of space that should be useable. My old Whirlpool had the ice maker on the inside of the door giving me alot more inside space, needless to say I'm very disappointed in Whirlpool... and I'm stuck with it for many years to come, provided it lasts at least 11 years as my previous one!!

I loved it when I got it but five weeks into ownership my ice maker did not work and I could not open the ice bin as it was impossible to press the button and pull the ice bin forward.

Total junk, the builder put it in the home I bought, they did change it out for a better one, the drawers are flimsy and did not even roll back to close. I would never buy this , the shelves on the door were slanted down, looks like they were gonna fall off

Oy, where to start...

Cools and freezes just fine. But after flushing the system three times and waiting five weeks, the water dispenser drips. A LOT. About two ounces after each and every glass of water. Repair person stopped by and couldn't figure out what was wrong. He'll have to order a mess of parts and replace EVERYTHING. Also, the water and ice dispenser paddles are really hard to press.

Poorly made

Very unhappy with refrigerator and regret buying this model. First fridge had faulty seal on bottom freezer and was replaced with second fridge. Having same problem with replacement but even worse with water buildup on seal. Waiting to hear from Turner Refrigeration after service call on July 3 as to what the next step is for repair or replacement.

Disappointed

The bottom freezer drawer doesn't completely close tight, air gets in and causes it to freeze over. Lights inside the freezer stop working. When talking to whirlpool reps about the problem, they made it more difficult. I am very disappointed more in the reps than the appliance itself. I am now working on getting a replacement.

Ice Maker Issues

We bought this refrigerator almost a month ago when the compressor on our Kenmore Elite died. This Whirlpool model was very similar to that so we ordered it. Unfortunately, the ice maker quit working for a few days and we couldn’t get access to the ice maker. Then it just started working again. We had someone come out to show us how to get access, but is so hard to pull out that we can’t do it. Also, the ice maker is loud and takes up a lot of room inside the fridge. I miss the Kenmore Elite!

Not the quality of the past. Poor door parts, doesn't maintain temperature. Less room than other cubic footage of past models of same dimensions.
