Gathering the reviews
We continuously collect owner reviews and public discussions from major retailers and community forums, de-duplicate them, and set aside anything we can’t tie to a verified purchase.

Averaged across every source we found (Amazon, AJ Madison, and other retailers). Each source counts in proportion to how many ratings it has, so a store with thousands of reviews moves the number more than one with only a handful.

What owners talk about most
“Had to replace our 12yo kitchen aid - this one has more cu ft despite being same size. Only 4 stars because water dispenses warm-room temp water, a the ice dispensers ice gets everywhere - ice machine is LOUD. Fridge stays cold tho- even tho its cabinet depth so that part is amazing”
Owners Answer
The questions shoppers ask, answered from real owner reviews and discussions across the web — not the manufacturer spec sheet. See the spec FAQ below for the official numbers.
Multiple owners report significant temperature inconsistency, with different shelves ranging from freezing to too warm (30–45°F), causing food to freeze in some areas while spoiling in others. Some also experience condensation issues. This appears to be a recurring design or calibration problem.
Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, elegant French-door design, and attractive appearance. Many highlight the quality of ice production, excellent lighting, and thoughtful layout that makes storage and access convenient. The fingerprint-resistant finish and self-closing drawers are also frequently mentioned as appreciated features.
No. Multiple owners report that the shelves have very limited or no adjustability, which restricts flexibility for storing taller items like milk jugs or large containers. This is a consistent design limitation that some find frustrating.
Several owners report that the water dispenser is positioned too close to the edge or button, causing splashing and water drips on the floor. Some also note the dispenser delivers room-temperature water rather than cold water. These design quirks require adjustment in technique to minimize mess.
The ice maker is a significant pain point. Multiple owners report it stops working within weeks or months, produces solid blocks of ice that jam, or fails to dispense despite making ice. Several have required multiple service visits without resolution, and some have resorted to using ice trays instead.
Several owners report the unit makes loud, persistent noise—described as sounding like a washing machine pump or water running through lines—that is audible in adjacent rooms. Service technicians have attributed this to water flow in the lines and claim it is within normal limits, though owners find it disruptive.
A concerning pattern emerges: multiple owners report compressor failures, cooling loss, and other major defects within 3 months to 2 years of purchase. Some have experienced repeated failures even after warranty replacement. Several owners have lost significant amounts of food due to unexpected breakdowns.
Owners report frustration with warranty coverage and service. Common complaints include long wait times for repairs (weeks to months), service technicians being unable to resolve issues, warranty denials for problems that seem to be defects, and difficulty getting replacements rather than repairs. The overall experience has disappointed many who expected better support from a premium brand.

What the internet says
We have nothing but KitchenAid appliances and have been quite satisfied. When we came across this model and design, we just had to upgrade! It came packaged very well and fit perfectly(be prepared to remove ALOT of plastic and tape). I read and follow all owner manuals to the…
I love everything on the refrigerator except there was nylon tape on the ceiling of the refrigerator. When I pulled it off, it left streaks of glue and nylon strings and now is very unsightly. I looked up all the methods of removing the residue and nothing seems to work.
We have our Kitchen Aid Fridge about a month a couldn’t be any happier. Beautifully made, runs quiet, great ice dispenser and plenty room inside for a counter model. We really love the handles which do not show any smudges.
I have never loved an appliance more! This fridge has all the best features in one appliance! It’s roomy and beautiful!
In all honesty, we got this unit mainly for looks. There were some reviews that made me worry a bit but I think they all stem from bad delivery and that is why I made sure it was a smooth process. If you're the type that care about both form and function, this is your…
