Café 36 Inch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator CJE23DP3WD1

The four-door French-door design includes a versatile middle drawer that can be set to refrigerator, chiller, or freezer temperatures, making it one of the most-used and praised features. The layout makes excellent use of space with flexible shelving, multiple freezer compartments, and large door bins, allowing owners to easily organize and access items without the fridge feeling cramped.

Despite being a counter-depth refrigerator, owners consistently report that it offers impressive capacity and plenty of space. Multiple reviewers note they were initially concerned about capacity but found it holds everything they need without feeling cramped, and one family of two found they had more than enough room to host a gathering of 10 adults.

The refrigerator includes an internal auto-fill water pitcher that dispenses filtered water without requiring an external dispenser on the door. Most owners praise this feature for convenience and aesthetics; however, a small number of reviews report that the pitcher can leak or overflow, requiring replacement or causing water to spill inside the fridge or onto the floor.

Opinions on lighting vary. Many owners praise the LED interior lighting as well-lit, illuminating, and not harsh on the eyes. However, some reviewers—including a professional lighting designer—find the backlighting dim and ineffective, noting that it puts contents in silhouette and does not adequately illuminate the refrigerator compartments.

One reviewer reported that the ice maker is slow, producing only 2 bins of ice over a 3-day period after initial installation, which they found disappointing despite understanding that the first batch takes time.

Multiple owners report that the refrigerator runs quietly and uses minimal energy, with some noting it is energy efficient. These features are consistently praised as benefits of the model.

The refrigerator is available in multiple finishes including white, black matte, and gray interiors. Owners can customize hardware options such as brushed bronze or black handles. The matte finish is noted by reviewers as not showing fingerprints and smudges as easily as standard finishes, and the overall design is frequently described as elegant, sleek, and modern.

Most owners report no mechanical issues and are very satisfied. However, a few reviews mention concerns including defective water jugs upon delivery, drawer wobbling or flexing, lower door gasket sealing issues causing condensation and ice buildup, and water pitcher leaks. These appear to be isolated incidents rather than widespread problems.
