36" Counter Depth Side-By-Side 21.9 cu. ft. Refrigerator GZS22DSJSS

Most owners report the refrigerator runs very quietly, with several describing it as nearly silent or not noticeable during normal use. The ice maker and water dispenser are also noted as quiet by multiple reviewers, making it suitable for open-concept kitchens.

Most reviewers report the ice maker and water dispenser function reliably and are convenient features. However, a few owners experienced issues with the ice maker not working or water dispensing problems, and some note the water dispenser requires running it for a minute to get cold water. Proper installation is important for reliable operation.

Lighting is a mixed experience. Several owners praise the lighting as wonderful or great, while others report it is poor or dark, particularly on lower shelves when the unit is fully loaded. Some reviewers note that the single ceiling light in each compartment does not adequately illuminate the entire space, especially the bottom racks.

Owners have mixed opinions on capacity. Some find the storage and shelving well-spaced and adequate for their needs, while others feel the freezer is too small and the refrigerator compartments are narrow. The water and ice maker take up freezer space, limiting room for frozen items. The shallow counter-depth design means the usable interior space is less than the stated cubic footage might suggest.

Several reviewers report that the door shelf bins are flimsy and prone to cracking or falling off, especially when loaded with items. Some describe them as brittle or of poor quality. However, other owners note the door boxes are double-walled and well-built. Care should be taken not to overload door bins.

The unit is designed as a counter-depth model and generally fits well with cabinetry. However, some owners report leveling challenges—the back wheels cannot be adjusted, so shims may be needed on uneven floors or to align properly with surrounding cabinets. Most reviewers who mention fit are satisfied with how it integrates with their kitchen.

Multiple reviewers praise the unit as energy-efficient or energy-saving. Several note it uses low energy while still keeping food properly cold. This is a consistent positive feature mentioned across several reviews.

Most owners report the refrigerator cools and freezes effectively. However, a few note that in some cases it cools too aggressively, freezing items like green onions placed against the back wall. One unit arrived non-functional and did not cool or freeze out of the box. Overall, temperature control is reliable when the unit is functioning properly.
