Installation is straightforward and quick for most users, typically taking just a few minutes. Reviewers consistently praise the ease of removal and insertion, with many noting the process requires no special tools or expertise. One reviewer mentioned a minor challenge fitting the compartment cover closed, but this appears to be an isolated case rather than a widespread issue.

Most reviewers report a noticeable improvement in water and ice taste after using these filters, with many noting the water tastes fresher and ice no longer picks up refrigerator odors. Several owners specifically mention that genuine LG filters outperform cheaper aftermarket alternatives. One reviewer reported not detecting a taste difference, but this is uncommon among the feedback.

Multiple reviewers who tried cheaper aftermarket filters report they perform significantly worse and have shorter lifespans, leading them to switch back to genuine LG filters. Owners consistently cite better water quality, reliability, and proper sealing with OEM filters. Several reviewers specifically mention that the price is reasonable given the quality and that buying in bulk packs offers good value.

Reviewers indicate that genuine LG filters provide reliable performance over their intended service life. One owner mentioned aftermarket filters lasted only six weeks, while another noted using LG filters for over five years with satisfaction. The refrigerator typically alerts users when a filter change is needed.

Most users report these filters fit properly and work reliably with compatible LG refrigerators. However, one reviewer reported that a newer model filter was shorter and slightly larger in diameter than the original style, requiring force to close the compartment lid and causing water pressure issues. This appears to be a specific compatibility concern rather than a universal problem, so confirming your refrigerator model before purchase is recommended.

Reviewers consistently praise the online ordering experience, noting quick and easy purchasing, prompt shipping, and straightforward delivery tracking. Many appreciate not having to remember filter model numbers or visit physical stores, and several mention saving money by ordering online compared to big-box retailers.
