Gathering the reviews
We continuously collect owner reviews and public discussions from major retailers and community forums, de-duplicate them, and set aside anything we can’t tie to a verified purchase.
Calculating the average
Averaged across every source we found (Amazon, AJ Madison, and other retailers). Each source counts in proportion to how many ratings it has, so a store with thousands of reviews moves the number more than one with only a handful.

“Love my fridge but there have been a few hiccups. The motherboard went out after only having it a little over a year. It was replaced and working fine now. Also the stainless steel is a little soft. My kids have bumped it a few times causing dings to the outside. I don't feel the hit it hard at all so I wish the outside was a bit more durable. Outside of those two things, we've really enjoyed it.”

How well does this filter improve water and ice quality?Based on 7 owner mentions
Reviewers consistently report that the filter produces noticeably better-tasting, clearer water and ice. Many describe the water as fresh, tasteless, and odorless, with some noting it tastes so much better than unfiltered water that tap water elsewhere becomes unpalatable by comparison.

Reviewers emphasize the value of purchasing directly from LG to ensure they receive a genuine, name-brand filter rather than a counterfeit or off-brand alternative. Multiple long-term owners report using only LG filters and trust the quality and reliability of the authentic product.
How long does each filter last?Based on 5 owner mentions
Reviewers report that filters last approximately 6 months, with the refrigerator's sensor typically indicating when replacement is due. Some owners note the filter lasts longer than the refrigerator's alert suggests, providing additional value.
Are there any issues with leakage after installation?Based on 3 owner mentions
Reviewers report no leakage problems after installation when the filter is properly installed and rinsed as instructed. Multiple owners with years of use confirm reliable, leak-free performance.
Is the price reasonable for this filter?Based on 3 owner mentions
Most reviewers consider the filter a worthwhile investment for the quality and convenience provided. However, a few owners note that the price is higher than they would prefer, though they continue to purchase because the product is necessary and performs well.
How quickly does the ice maker produce ice after replacing the filter?Based on 1 owner mention
One reviewer noted that after replacing the filter, it took 2 to 3 weeks for the ice maker to resume normal operation, which is a longer-than-expected delay to be aware of when planning filter changes.

- I'm Spoiled
The only problem I have with this filter is that now water from anywhere else tastes bad by comparison to the water from my fridge.

I have had my refrigerator for over a year. It keeps food at the correct temperature, and the freezer items also are kept at the right temperature. It is so easy to keep clean, and so much room inside freezer, and refrigerator compartments. Other refrigerators are not as good at…
gone fishMar 23, 2024 - great program
Your program on sending out filters every 6 months works well. The only problem is it takes 2 to 3 weeks for the refrig to make ice after replacing the filter.
