Gathering the reviews
We continuously collect owner reviews and public discussions from major retailers and community forums, de-duplicate them, and set aside anything we can’t tie to a verified purchase.
Calculating the average
Averaged across every source we found (Amazon, AJ Madison, and other retailers). Each source counts in proportion to how many ratings it has, so a store with thousands of reviews moves the number more than one with only a handful.

Owners Answer
The questions shoppers ask, answered from real owner reviews and discussions across the web — not the manufacturer spec sheet.
How spacious is this refrigerator, and do owners find it has good storage layout?Based on 8 owner mentions
Owners consistently praise the spacious interior and flexible storage configuration. The 19.3 cubic foot capacity provides ample room for most households, with many reviewers noting they have more space than expected. The see-through shelves and drawers, adjustable door compartments, and clear visibility into the back are frequently highlighted as making it easy to organize and locate food items.
Is this refrigerator quiet in operation?Based on 6 owner mentions
Most owners report the unit runs quietly and is quieter than their previous refrigerators. However, a few reviewers note it is noisier than expected or report occasional gurgling sounds from the freezer area. Overall, quiet operation is a consistent strength, though individual experiences vary.
Does this model maintain consistent temperature and keep food properly cold?Based on 4 owner mentions
Owners report strong and consistent cooling performance. Many note that food gets very cold in both the refrigerator and freezer sections, and the unit maintains a constant temperature reliably. Temperature stability is a frequently praised feature across reviews.
What is the energy consumption of this refrigerator?Based on 1 owner mention
This model uses 378 kilowatt-hours per year. Several owners mention they purchased this as an efficiency model and are interested in monitoring whether it reduces their electricity usage compared to older units.
Is the freezer compartment large enough, and does it have adequate lighting?Based on 5 owner mentions
The freezer is smaller than some previous models, and a few owners note it has a tight fit or limited capacity. A recurring concern is the lack of a freezer light—multiple reviewers expected or wanted a light in the freezer area but found it was not included. The refrigerator section is well-lit, but freezer lighting is a notable gap.
Are the drawers and shelves durable and easy to use?Based on 3 owner mentions
Most owners appreciate the clear, see-through shelves and adjustable storage. However, some reviewers report that plastic drawers feel flimsy compared to older models, and a few note difficulty opening or closing certain drawers. Build quality appears to vary, with some owners feeling materials are less robust than previous generations.
Are there any design or maintenance issues to be aware of?Based on 5 owner mentions
A few owners report concerns with the crisper drawer track design—the tracks are bolted to the bottom of the refrigerator, making spills difficult to clean underneath. Additionally, some reviewers mention exposed bare steel in the door frame, an awkwardly placed light switch, and shallow freezer shelves. A small number also report door gasket separation issues. These are not universal problems but represent design quirks some users find frustrating.
What should I know about the ice maker and water dispenser?Based on 4 owner mentions
This model comes with an ice maker, though some owners note they did not want one or prefer to make their own ice. A few reviewers have added aftermarket water filters and report the ice tastes fine. Some owners wish the ice maker had a dispenser feature. A small number report ice maker malfunction or water leaking issues, but these appear to be isolated cases rather than widespread problems.
Fit & facts
- 19.3 cu. ft. of usable storage — enough room for the average household weekly grocery run.

- Need door handle
I’ve had this refrigerator for couple years and it’s been working great no issues, door handle broke don’t know how to purchase a replacement
ReenaNov 25, 2024 - Well lighted. Attractive outside. Easy to clean
This was a replacement for the same model I purchased a year ago, which had a defective door gadget. I had to step down to this model due to finances. I would have preferred to buy a larger model with freezer on the bottom but am now on fixed income so had to step down. I am ok with this fridge. Don’t like that I have to bend over so far to get items as I’m 76 and have some orthopedic limits. The freezer is adequate but doesn’t hold much because if there is not adequate space in front of the air vents, ice cream does not freeze solid and I’m afraid other foods won’t as well. Fortunately I have a deep freeze. This model runs a lot more than my previous side by side. I am thankful for the replacement.
Susan47Dec 4, 2023 - Great fridge but need icemaker dispenser
I bought this fridge almost a month ago I'm very happy with performance but it need a icemaker dispenser.
Jul 3, 2023 - Super efficient
We live off-grid and this is replacing a gas refrigerator, which has now been relegated to the basement. We upgraded our solar array last year and because this model is so efficient, our system can now support an electric refrigerator. I'm very happy with this choice.
JanRSep 8, 2021 - perfect for me
This fridge is a nice size for my kitchen, and it looks very modern and the color is great.
FridgeMar 11, 2026 - ok fridge
I did a lot of research about higher quality, less breakdown refrigerators. I selected this model whirlpool due to size and similar features of our older one. Disappointed that it seems to be made out of cheaper materials and design. Plastic drawers are flimsier. and there is no light in the freezer. forgot to check on that. I wanted a less noisy unit and this one is a bit more than our older one. It is roomier and we like that, though lower shelves and drawers are lower than we like. We are elderly.
DavekMar 11, 2026 - Its intact!
Its been working great and with the visitors I had, that's impressive.
niakborFeb 10, 2026 - Replacing 28 yr old refrigerator
So far so good. Freezer smaller than last one so tight fit.
Leslie 57Nov 11, 2025 - works wonderful
I purchased my fridge about 3 weeks ago and I am happy with the purchase.
reddogOct 18, 2025 - Configuration is key
It's nice to finally have a fridge that closes tight, maintains a constant temperature and is configured so I can see easily into the back. The door shelves are spaced just right and easy to adjust.
Pkm70Sep 26, 2025 - Very Pleased With My Whirlpool Refrigerator
I am pleasantly pleased with my new Whirlpool refrigerator. It runs quietly and has more room than I anticipated. I did not want an ice maker as I don't use the town water. (Make my own ice cubes using spring water.) Since I ordered this efficiency model, I'll be interested to see if there is a slight difference in my electricity usage. My prior refrigerator was a 20-year-old Kenmore which was most probably made by Whirlpool!
BJM23Sep 16, 2025 - Different Compartments
I love this refrigerator. It has different compartments which help to organize my food items in my refrigerator and make it possible for me to find what I need.
