KitchenAid 36 Inch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator KRFC236SJP

Owners consistently praise the sleek, modern design and interior lighting that makes it easy to see everything. The internal water dispenser is a standout feature that keeps the exterior clean while providing convenient access. The spacious layout and flexible shelving are also frequently highlighted, with many noting that the counter-depth design doesn't sacrifice storage capacity. The faux wood accent drawer and quality finish add to the premium appearance.

Multiple owners report that the refrigerator maintains excellent temperature and humidity control, keeping produce, meats, and dairy fresh for extended periods. The dedicated humidity and preservation drawers are specifically noted for their effectiveness. Several reviewers mention noticing a significant improvement in food freshness compared to their previous refrigerators, particularly for fruits and vegetables.

Multiple owners report problems with the ice maker, including mechanical failures requiring replacement, ice spilling or jamming behind the freezer bin when the drawer is opened, and excessive ice production that overflows. Some units have required ice maker replacement multiple times within the first year. Additionally, a few owners note the ice maker can be loud during operation. These issues appear to be the most common complaint across reviews.

The internal water dispenser is widely praised for its convenience and for keeping the refrigerator's exterior clean and simple-looking. Most owners appreciate the one-handed operation. However, a few owners report that the dispenser can leak intermittently or be difficult to use when filling larger containers. One owner noted it's easy to accidentally activate Sabbath Mode, which disables the dispenser.

Several owners report significant delays in receiving replacement parts, with wait times ranging from one to three months. This has been particularly problematic for ice maker replacements, leaving owners without a functioning ice maker for extended periods. One owner noted that because the refrigerator is new, parts availability is limited, which contributes to the long lead times.

A small number of owners report serious issues within the first few months, including complete failure to cool or freeze, freezer not reaching cold enough temperatures, and the refrigerator entering an unexpected 'cooling off' mode. One owner experienced a non-functional unit after just over a month of use. These appear to be isolated incidents, but warranty service response times have been slow in some cases.

Owners consistently report that despite the counter-depth design, the refrigerator offers impressive capacity and doesn't feel cramped. Many note they were initially worried about storage space but found the layout to be spacious and well-organized. The French door design allows for easier access to wider items compared to side-by-side models. Several owners specifically mention the pull-out shelf and deep door bins as valuable storage features.
