This KitchenAid french-door refrigerator offers 20 cubic feet of storage capacity, providing ample space for fresh and frozen foods in a household setting. The french-door configuration features two side-by-side doors on top for the refrigerator compartment, with a freezer drawer below, allowing easy access to frequently used items at eye level. Energy consumption is rated at 563 kilowatt-hours per year, which helps you estimate annual operating costs based on your local electricity rates. The dual-door design minimizes cold air loss when accessing the refrigerator section, as you only open one side at a time. This layout works well for organizing groceries and storing wider items like party platters or pizza boxes on the shelves.
The Internet’s Verdict

How We Score It
Gathering the reviews
We continuously collect owner reviews and public discussions from major retailers and community forums, de-duplicate them, and set aside anything we can’t tie to a verified purchase.
Calculating the average
Averaged across every source we found (Amazon, AJ Madison, and other retailers). Each source counts in proportion to how many ratings it has, so a store with thousands of reviews moves the number more than one with only a handful.

“I bought this a week ago when my 17 year old Kitchenaid stopped working suddenly. I have had appliances (stove, dishwasher, fridge) repaired over the years and the repair people always said stick with US brands like Kitchenaid because they are easy to get parts and repair. The delivery driver also commented that Kitchenaid are work horses so hopefully I get 17 or more years out of this one too.”

- Perfect for me
I like that this refrigerator offers filtered water and makes ice as well. It is small on the inside so if you have a big family this might not be a good fit for you. It's only my husband and I, so it fits our needs. In order to access the filter button for filtered water you do…

Mar10Feb 8, 2026 - Big Price, cheaply built
Doors are still not level to one another, no butter tray, and all three refrigerator draws a built so cheap they need two hands to open and close. Not impressed for a KitchenAid branded product
High price low qualityMar 19, 2026 - Poorly designed, very loud compressor. Do not buy.
This KRFC136SPS is an identical variant of the KRFC136RPS, one of the most poorly designed fridges you can buy. undampened compressor causes continuous high pitched whine at 3khz. You will be able to hear it throughout your house. We had them replace the compressor, but that…
