Gathering the reviews
We continuously collect owner reviews and public discussions from major retailers and community forums, de-duplicate them, and set aside anything we can’t tie to a verified purchase.

What owners talk about most
“I bought this refrigerator a month ago. We love everything about it except for the ice maker makes ice very slow. It takes several days for the holding bin to fill up even with us not taking any out. The inside of the refrigerator and freezer are spacious and the lighting is great.”
Owners Answer
The questions shoppers ask, answered from real owner reviews and discussions across the web — not the manufacturer spec sheet. See the spec FAQ below for the official numbers.
This counter-depth model offers 25.1 cubic feet of total capacity. Multiple reviewers praise the spacious interior design that maximizes storage for groceries, meats, fruits, and vegetables despite the compact counter-depth footprint.
Reviewers consistently highlight the excellent interior lighting and thoughtful shelf layout. The improved interior organization compared to older models allows for better food arrangement and visibility, with many noting the lighting is one of the standout features.
The ice maker is a notable concern across multiple reviews. Common problems include ice not being produced, slow ice production that cannot keep up with household demand, ice clumping or freezing in the bin, and misalignment causing ice to fall outside the bucket. Several reviewers report needing replacement units within the first year.
Several reviewers report noise concerns. Some describe the compressor making noticeable sounds, growling, or a whooping noise from the ice maker that takes getting used to. One reviewer noted the cooling system operates differently than traditional models and produces audible noise. However, other owners report the unit is quiet, so experiences vary.
Most reviewers report the refrigerator keeps food cold and fresh effectively. However, some owners have experienced temperature fluctuations in the freezer, with readings varying significantly, or occasional freezing of vegetables in the refrigerator section. One reviewer noted excellent temperature stability as a strength of the newer model.
While some reviewers praise the water and ice dispensing features, others report problems including water line freezing on initial use, ice maker leaks requiring the feature to be turned off, and difficulty filling water bottles. One reviewer noted the water line froze on day 3 but resolved after adjusting temperatures.
Several reviewers report early failures including units stopping working within weeks to months, requiring part replacements and extended service calls. Shelf damage (chipping or breaking) has been reported by multiple owners, and some note poor packaging during delivery. However, many long-term owners report excellent durability, with some replacing units that lasted 20+ years.
Most reviewers appreciate the counter-depth fit for built-in installations, noting it matches cabinet-depth requirements and integrates well with kitchen remodels. However, some owners feel the usable interior space is smaller than expected for the exterior footprint, and the freezer depth is noted as limited by a few reviewers.

It looks beautiful inside and out. Works great. The lighting inside is awesome. I'm not sure what tge slide out part in the middle is used for but will research it.
Built-in works for my kitchen while other brands didn't offer the size seeded. Had an earlier version from 2007. The ice maker in the door takes some getting use to; the additional baking rack features is not necessary for me; enjoyed the larger refrigerator door storage however…
I. Do like the 42 inch built in refrig. The only question I have is the temperature in the freezer is all over the place. Sometimes it is 20 or 15 below zero and then it will climb to above 0 and then take a dive again to 15 below. Zero. I haven’t requested a repair yet just…
This refrig is a replacement for an identical one that was defective. So far I am very satisfied with this refrig.
This purchase was to replace a 30 year old Kitchenaide cabinet depth (built-in) refrigerator. The fit was perfect and the new model is so much nicer than our old one. Also seems to be more storage area, although the exterior dimensions are the same. So far, very pleased. The…
