GE® Energy Star® 21.7 cu. ft. Manual Defrost Chest Freezer In White Size 33.375 H X 73.25 W X 33 D | FCM22DLWW

This is a manual defrost freezer. One reviewer noted that like all chest freezers, it needs defrosting every 2-3 months, though another owner reported minimal frost buildup during regular use.

The freezer includes sturdy baskets and dividers that reviewers generally praise for organization. However, one owner noted that the plastic tracks holding the bottom baskets can crack if something knocks against them, so care should be taken to avoid impact to that area.

This freezer comes with multiple sliding baskets and dividers that help keep food organized and easy to find. Reviewers consistently praise the basket system and compartments, noting they make it much easier to locate items without having to dig through the entire freezer or move large amounts of frozen food.

Most reviewers report the freezer reaches freezing temperature very quickly after being plugged in. Multiple owners noted it reached 0 degrees or below freezing in under 4 hours, with some reporting temperatures of -10 to -18 degrees within 1-2 hours of initial setup.

Yes, this freezer is garage-ready and designed to handle temperature fluctuations. One reviewer specifically tested it in a garage during a heat wave with 90-degree air temperatures and reported it performed well without running excessively.

Reviewers describe the freezer as quiet and energy efficient. One owner noted it doesn't run excessively even under challenging conditions, and another mentioned it has a reset button and is energy efficient, though specific annual energy consumption figures are not detailed in owner feedback.

The vast majority of reviewers report excellent temperature stability and reliable operation. However, one owner experienced a recurring issue where the over-temperature light stayed on, the alarm went off randomly, and the compressor ran continuously without shutting off despite the freezer reaching -18 degrees. This appears to be an isolated defect rather than a widespread problem.

The freezer includes a built-in alarm, an interior LED light that illuminates when the lid opens, a key lock for security, sturdy four-door hinges that keep the lid open, and a reset button. These features are consistently mentioned as valuable additions by reviewers.
