Whirlpool 36 Inch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator WRFC9636RV

Most owners report the refrigerator feels surprisingly spacious for a counter-depth unit, with generous fridge capacity that often exceeds their previous models. Several reviewers specifically praise the interior organization and moveable shelves. One reviewer noted the freezer is smaller than expected, which is typical for French-door bottom-freezer designs.

The ice maker dispenses small cubes that most owners appreciate for their size and convenience. Several reviewers specifically like the smaller-than-normal ice cubes, though a few note they melt faster in drinks or wish the unit produced more ice overall. The ice and water dispenser on the door is generally praised for being quieter than competing models.

A small number of owners have reported mechanical issues requiring warranty service, including unusual noises from the compressor and a unit that ran constantly. Door shelves, particularly the smaller ones, have been noted as flimsy and prone to breaking in some cases. Most units perform well, but early mechanical problems should be addressed promptly under warranty.

Most owners find the refrigerator quiet overall, with several specifically praising its quiet operation compared to other brands. However, a few reviewers note that the ice maker can be loud when filling, and some have experienced unexpected compressor noise that required service calls. Overall, it tends to be quieter than competing models.

The water dispenser is generally convenient and quieter than competitors, but one reviewer reported persistent chemical taste even after running 25+ gallons through it. Another noted the in-door water dispenser can be difficult to use without spilling. Most owners are satisfied, though running the dispenser thoroughly before use is recommended.

Moveable shelves are easy to adjust and generally praised for flexibility. However, one reviewer noted that the shelf design doesn't allow for a split configuration, which can limit how larger bottles are stored. The unit does include a dedicated pizza storage area, which some owners appreciate.

Installation service has been rated as 5-star by reviewers, and customer service is reported as extremely helpful. The refrigerator is straightforward to set up and integrates well into kitchens, particularly for those upgrading from larger models.
