This Hotpoint upright freezer provides vertical storage to help organize frozen foods in your home. The unit measures 27.8 inches wide, 65 inches tall, and 26.5 inches deep, making it suitable for kitchens, garages, or utility rooms where floor space is limited. The upright design allows for easier access to frozen items compared to chest-style freezers, with shelving that helps keep contents organized and visible. Hotpoint has manufactured home appliances for over a century, focusing on durability and practical functionality. This freezer is designed to meet everyday frozen storage needs while fitting into various household layouts. The compact width works well in tighter spaces while the vertical orientation maximizes storage capacity without requiring extensive floor area.

Owners Answer
The questions shoppers ask, answered from real owner reviews and discussions across the web — not the manufacturer spec sheet.
How much space does this freezer take up, and will it fit through a standard doorway?Based on 3 owner mentions
The freezer measures 27.8 inches wide, 65 inches tall, and 26.5 inches deep, making it a compact upright model suitable for garages and tight spaces. Multiple reviewers confirm it fits through narrow passages when the door and door brackets are removed during installation.
Does this freezer require manual defrosting?Based on 4 owner mentions
No, this model features automatic defrost, eliminating the need for manual defrosting. Reviewers consistently praise this as a major improvement over older freezers, with one noting it's a significant upgrade from a 40-year-old unit.
How is the interior layout and storage organization?Based on 4 owner mentions
The freezer includes wire rack shelves, door storage shelves with solid bottoms (so small items don't fall through), and clear pullout bucket drawers at the bottom. Reviewers consistently report the layout makes it easy to organize and find items, with one noting it's much more convenient than a chest freezer.
What is the Turbo Freeze feature and how does it work?Based on 3 owner mentions
Turbo Freeze is a rapid cooling mode that freezes food faster than the standard setting. Reviewers report it works effectively, though one owner noted they had to switch to Turbo mode to maintain proper freezing temperatures on their unit.
Is this freezer quiet during operation?Based on 3 owner mentions
Yes, multiple reviewers describe the freezer as quiet or fairly quiet during normal operation. One owner specifically noted it's a significant improvement over older models in terms of noise level.
How difficult is the door to open?Based on 3 owner mentions
Most reviewers have no issues with the door, but a few report that the door seal is very tight and requires significant effort to open, sometimes requiring two hands or causing the unit to shift. This appears to be by design to maintain a strong seal, though it may be inconvenient for some users.
Are there any reliability concerns with this model?Based on 2 owner mentions
The vast majority of reviewers report excellent performance and durability. However, a small number of units have experienced issues: one arrived with a defective compressor requiring repair, and another failed after one year of use. These appear to be isolated cases rather than a widespread pattern.
What temperature settings should I use, and does the freezer maintain proper freezing temperatures?Based on 2 owner mentions
The freezer comes with default settings that work well for most users without adjustment. However, one reviewer reported their unit only reached 20°F on the standard setting and required Turbo mode to maintain 0°F, suggesting potential variability in temperature performance across units.
