This Element upright freezer offers 21.2 cubic feet of storage capacity, providing ample space for frozen food organization. The vertical design allows for easier access to contents compared to chest-style units, with shelving that helps keep items visible and organized.
The unit consumes 314 kilowatt-hours per year under standard test conditions. This upright configuration fits well in kitchens, garages, or utility rooms where floor space is limited but vertical space is available.
The freezer compartment provides consistent temperature control for long-term food preservation. Multiple shelves and door bins help separate different types of frozen items for convenient retrieval.

“We find the Element to provide even cooling top to bottom and front to back. The food seems to stay fresh longer. The one small quirk is that the shelf spacing doesn't accommodate tall soda bottles. Otherwise we're very happy and the price was remarkably inexpensive. Overall recommended.”
Owners Answer
The questions shoppers ask, answered from real owner reviews and discussions across the web — not the manufacturer spec sheet. See the spec FAQ below for the official numbers.
Can this unit work as both a freezer and a refrigerator?Based on 8 owner mentions
Yes. This is a convertible unit that can be set to operate as either a freezer or a refrigerator, giving you flexibility based on your needs. Multiple owners report appreciating this dual functionality and some have even purchased multiple units because of it.
How much storage space does this freezer offer?Based on 10 owner mentions
This unit has a capacity of 21.2 cubic feet, providing ample room for organizing food. Reviewers consistently praise the spacious interior and flexible shelf configuration, noting it easily accommodates a wide variety of items.
What features does the temperature control system include?Based on 5 owner mentions
The unit includes an external digital temperature display so you can monitor the internal temperature without opening the door, plus an alarm system to alert you if the temperature rises unexpectedly. Some owners note the front control panel can be confusing to operate initially, and a few wish for an always-on display rather than one that only shows when the door opens.
How quickly does the unit cool down after setup?Based on 3 owner mentions
Most owners report the freezer cools down quickly and maintains even temperatures throughout. One reviewer noted it took almost three days to reach zero degrees in a hot garage environment, which is normal for initial startup in extreme conditions.
What is the annual energy consumption?Based on 1 owner mention
This unit uses approximately 314 kilowatt-hours per year, making it an energy-efficient choice for a 21.2 cubic foot upright freezer.
Are the shelves adjustable and what are they made of?Based on 5 owner mentions
Yes, the shelves are adjustable and made of glass, which reviewers appreciate for durability and ease of cleaning. One owner noted that the shelf spacing may not accommodate very tall soda bottles, so measure your items if height is a concern.
Is the door difficult to open?Based on 1 owner mention
Most owners have no issues, but one reviewer reported the door has a strong seal and suction that makes it difficult to open and requires two hands. This is not a widespread complaint, but it may be worth considering if you have limited hand strength.
What is the value proposition of this freezer?Based on 5 owner mentions
Owners consistently report this is a well-made unit at a reasonable price point, with excellent build quality, spacious capacity, and versatile functionality. The combination of convertible freezer/refrigerator capability, glass shelves, temperature controls, and alarm features delivers strong value for the cost.
