AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We purchased this upright freezer approximately a month ago and have not had one regret. It works like a charm and the seal is so secure/ We couldn't be more pleased Good job Hotpoint / We are done with Samsung after two that only lasted until the warranty ended. You are officially their replacement. Welcome Aboard!

My perfect Freezer!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

My neighbor is the one I should thank for buying this Hotpoint freezer, as she insisted I needed one to stock up on not only meats, but produce I needed to freeze from my vegetable and fruit garden. Thank you neighbor! This freezer is perfect for my needs, and I even bought heavy duty totes to organize the frozen food!

Great Features

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I bought this as me and my family wanted to have more freezer space than just the fridge freezer. So that we can make freezer meals and buy more things to keep on hand in the freezer as we have winter coming. I can't wait to fill up the freezer. This freezer is the perfect size love that it has an alarm and also has turbo freeze which is such a great feature.. So happy with my purchase.

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

This freezer works great. It’s easy to keep things neat and organized. Super happy with my selection.

Shell73 · Aug 21, 2025

Convenient and quiet.

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

This freezer does what it's supposed to do - keep food frozen. It's replacing a 65+ years old chest freezer during a home renovation, and it certainly makes finding items easier than digging in a chest. Adding a couple of bins hels keep things like zip-top bags of frozen veggies from falling out. It's also fairly quiet.

Fox563 · Dec 5, 2024

Love it!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I really like this freezer. I work at a Candy Store/Bakery and we just received a huge pre-order. Our freezers at work didn't have the space, but I have most of it here! The rest is at the store and owner's home. It's now considered as a work freezer. Now if I can just keep the hubby out of the product.

Great medium size freezer

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

Nice amount of space to store food, Plenty of shelves and door storage

Moonshine · Nov 18, 2024

It freezes well and is well lit inside.

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

I bought this without seeing it as my freezer died a couple weeks ago and I had to get one as soon as possible. I called the appliance store and they had this on the floor and was able to bring it in a few days. There is no handle on the front of the door. There is a slot on the side of the door which I have to use 2 hands to pull open the door. When pulling it, the freezer actually moves as it is hard to open.

Sharon719 · Nov 15, 2024

Awesome Freezer

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I have been looking for an upright freezer for a few months. This freezer has storage shelves on the door, wire rack shelves inside, and 2 clear pullout bucket drawers on the bottom. I can say I am extremely satisfied with my purchase!

Icecold69 · Nov 9, 2024

Great Features

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I bought this a month ago to replace an old freezer that was 40 years old! I don't expect to get 40 years out of this new one, but I am very pleased, so far. The automatic defrost feature is a great improvement over the old appliance and the layout and shelf space is better organized. The low energy rating is also a plus. The delivery of the new freezer and removal of the old appliance was very smooth and professional.

I bought this freezer last year and everything has been great-the purchase, the delivery and the freezer.

Ice cream · Sep 13, 2024

Lots of room.

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

We replaced a working upright freezer because the old one - had to be defrosted even - was not energy efficient. It is almost too soon to evaluate how much less this freezer is using, but we're sure it does use less. It's the same size as the one we replaced, but it seems roomier. Maybe it's the lack of frost, but we love the layout. I also love the thought that I will never have to defrost it.

Excellent Value

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

We have only had this freezer for a week. It has definitely made a difference in our ability to organize our frozen goods and works well. The only thing I would change is the wire shelves. If you buy in bulk and then portion out to freezer bags you really have to watch to ensure nothing falls through. If it does, your food is almost impossible to get out.

Works well. No Handle on door which makes it VERY hard to open. I am a small person, when I pull on insert on side door to open, the freezer literally slides out, like it’s on ice skates. Otherwise the storage inside is phenomenal. It holds a lot. I am happy with this purchase minus a few minor inconveniences.

The reviews I read prior to purchasing regarding it being difficult to open are absolutely correct. It takes at least a couple of hard pulls to open which moves the freezer so that it then needs to be moved back where it was.

So quiet. I don't hear it at all

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We're glad we bought this. With the price of groceries we try to buy sale or outdated meat and freeze it right away. Older couple on only social security

Perfect Size and Perfect Price

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Great Size for a family of three. Freezes perfectly.

Mary914 · Nov 19, 2022

Perfect! Exactly the right size.

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Just got my freezer today and it's exactly what I wanted. Large, but not huge... just perfect for storing all my frozen foods that simply don't fit in the slim freezer in my new side by side refrigerator. I did read all the reviews and agree that you really do need both hands to open the door - one to pull open the door and the other to hold onto the side of the freezer to keep the whole thing from moving towards you as you pull. But, unlike others, I don't find this to be a negative - I LIKE that the door seals nice and tight. I am going to have to order an additional wire shelf and an additional door shelf - you really do need one more of each to maximize use of the space.

Tina Z · Nov 18, 2022

Freezer seems to have a very tight seal

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Good Features

The freezer functions properly and is a good value for the price but someone should have placed items on the shelves. They should have a lip so the product doe not slide off!

Dabspo · Aug 24, 2022

Good freezer

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We've had the freezer close to a month and have enjoyed it. I I could change one thing about it, it would be to do something about the feet on it. The door has great suction & because the freezer is on a laminate floor, when I go to open it I have to have 2 hands. It slides away from the wall unless I use 2 hands to open it. Which means whatever I have to freeze goes on the floor so I can open it. I've tried a few things to try to eliminate this problem & will find a solution. Overall, this is just an inconvenience. I would buy it again.

Hotpoint general features

Great freezer

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We bought this freezer about three weeks ago. It has been great, so far. Has a turbo freeze feature, which is very helpful for freezing large or multiple containers more quickly. My only issue is that the freezer slides when I try to open the door. A wall anchor would be helpful, so that the freezer would stay in place.

So far, so good. Have had it about a month and I’m tickled with it. Takes up less space than the old chest type. The temp is fine, keeps food good and frozen. I wish it had another metal shelf but we’re doing just fine. Hopefully, come fall we will have plenty of room for a couple of deer.

upright freezer

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

Just purchased and was installed 2 days ago. Was pleased with the size and the clean looks. Disappointed though with the difficulty of opening the door because of the vacuum sucking it so tightly. When I pull the door open, the whole freezer rolls toward me. It takes two strong hands to get it opened.
