So far, I'm loving my new freezer!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Very good size and plenty of room inside to store items. Its also very quiet. You can change the setting from freezer to refrigerator and I really like the little light at the bottom that stays illuminated. I've had it a week and so far im loving it.

The perfect compact freezer

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I needed a new standup freezer to replace one that was rusting away on the screen porch in our Southern humidity. It would have to fit in the limited space of my laundry room. Growing up, most families had freezers, referred to as "the Frigidaire", as though it was a member of the family! It was the brand considered synonymous with reliability and longevity by a community of budget conscious families. My new frigidaire is the size I required but still has ample, well organized storage. It has an attractive, has an easy to clean exterior and is whisper quiet. It was ready for food storage within an hour! With all its features for the size, I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

Perfect size and great price

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We needed a freezer because I harvested three deer this fall. I found this Frigidaire at a great sale price. I was looking for something a little smaller, but now that I started filling it i'm glad we chose this one. It holds great temperature. I like that it has a high temp alarm. Plenty of storage space.

Frigidaire 13 cu ft frost free upright freezer

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

Works good, good capacity, I use it as a secondary freezer in my basement. I wish it had a digital temp guage so you can set the actual temperature, it only has a dial to set to 1 temperature

Loads of space

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

The 13 Cu. Ft. Convertible freezer is a perfect size for our garage. It's small enough that it does not interfere with parking the car. It has plenty of room inside to handle all our freezer needs.Using my old freezer, items were lost at the bottom, not with this freezer. I can spot what I need in an instant because of all the shelf and bin space. I also love that there is no handle showing, making the space it takes up in the garage even more efficient.

Perfect Garage Fridge!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We’ve been extremely happy with this Frigidaire refrigerator. We plan to use it as a freezer for when our quarter cow comes in, but in the meantime we’re using it as a standard refrigerator—and it’s been fantastic. It keeps everything consistently cold, has plenty of space, and runs quietly. It’s the perfect garage fridge and offers great versatility depending on your needs. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable and flexible extra fridge or freezer option.

Perfect Garage Freezer!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Within minutes, this unit was cold and getting ready to combat the elements of our garage. It’s sleek and cleanly designed on the inside, and Frigidaire’s exterior stainless steel look is always the best. I especially continue to love that there isn’t a protruding handle, it’s flush to the door and opens on the side. A nice design feature for smaller spaces. I can see a lot of extra storage for frozen goods but also in summer when hosting parties being able to use it as a refrigerator. Very excited about this!

Never Thought I'd Love A Freezer

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

But here I am. We love this freezer! It's our first upright freezer and it is a total game-changer. We're not digging in a deep freezer to find old food we froze and things don't get lost or forgotten about -- everything is within reach, visible and easily accessible. It's super quiet and fits juuust right in our basement (and the door can swing open either way which is so helpful) and has so much room! Never going back to a deep freezer -- this is the way to go!

Excellent Garage-Ready Freezer – Spacious, Reliable, and Quiet

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We absolutely love this 13 cu. ft. garage-ready upright freezer! It has been a fantastic addition to our home. The size is perfect—plenty of space to organize meats, frozen meals, and bulk items without feeling cramped. The shelves make it easy to keep everything visible and accessible, which is a huge plus compared to chest freezers. It truly lives up to being garage ready and maintains a consistent temperature even with temperature swings. It runs quietly and efficiently, and the sleek upright design doesn’t take up much floor space. Setup was quick and easy, and it started cooling fast. Overall, this freezer is reliable, well-built, and exactly what we needed for extra storage. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a dependable upright freezer for their garage or home!

The perfect garage companion!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

My family and I love the design of this 13 cu. ft. garage-ready upright freezer. Not only is the stainless steel design sharp, it has a compact footprint that fits perfectly in my outdoor garage space without compromising the room inside to handle all of our freezer needs. We upgraded from an old chest freezer, and the difference was immediate. It maintains food at the ideal temperature, and the upright design makes organizing and finding items so much easier than digging through our deep freezer. Everything is visible and accessible, which has made a big difference in how we use it day to day. The option to convert it into a full refrigerator is also a great bonus and something I can easily see us using in the future. Overall, this freezer has been a fantastic upgrade.

Perfect size for 1 or 2 people

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I am absolutely thrilled with this freezer! It is the perfect size for us...a 2 person household! My side by side refrigerator had a fairly small freezer side and it would get stuffed when I found things on sale...this Frigidaire freezer solves the extra space needed for the holidays, or items you find on sale...meat, milk, bread, etc., or fresh corn you got at the Farmers Market. I like that it is upright also vs. a chest freezer where you have to bend over and dig to the bottom...also takes up less space.

Linda0952 · Aug 12, 2020

Great features and love the layout

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I chose this 13 cubic feet freezer for my two-person household because it was the smallest freezer I could find that was both well-rated by Consumer Reports and also offered the features I wanted. My freezer lives in the garage, so I really wanted an audible alarm if the temperature rises or the door is left ajar, and this has both. It also has a power light that makes a friendly, welcoming bright-green streak on the concrete floor (you can see it in the photo) so we can see that it's on every time we pass through. I prefer these wire shelves over the plastic in some models, the basket on the bottom is great as a catch-all for oddly shaped packages, and the door shelves hold all the frozen broccoli my schnauzers can eat (they love cruciferous vegetables and one is overweight). I've only had my Frigidaire for a month, but I expect it to serve me long as well just like my other Frigidaire products have. And don't underestimate the amount of frozen food you might want on hand, as we are rapidly filling it up. Thanks, Frigidaire.

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Perfect size for a family of 3-4, nice small footprint for in kitchen placement, and it does not slide when attempting to open it. Am experiencing some unexpected light frosting on shelves after a week. This was an exchange for a 17 cu ft Insignia which worked great, but had too wide a foot print and slid every time you attempted to open it.

Good Freezer

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Took about four hours to get below freezing from around 85 degrees inside when delivered. After 24 hours was below zero and has been maintaining steady temperature. Very roomy inside, like the adjustable shelves and door storage. The green LED that shows it is operating is nice to see. Had a pretty bulletproof chest freezer for years, but like the upright freezer because you can actually see what is inside.

I expect my new freezer to be as reliable as Frigidaire products are known to be, that is why I chose Frigidaire. I grew up with a 1949 model that finally gave up the ghost maybe 10 years or so ago so Frigidaire Otis.

Great Freezer

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

For six years we have owned the freezer model of this unit and it has been awesome. When it came time to replace a small (5 cft) chest freezer, there was no question as to what we were going to purchase. It was Frigidaire, period. This new unit is just as great as the previous model we own, except it's convertible to a fridge. It has upgraded shelving, glass vs wire racks in the previous model and is performing just as well as the old one. Very happy with this purchase.

Fridgidaire is best!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I have always tried to purchase Frigidaire appliances as they last the longest and are very reliable. My purchase of the garage ready freezer was the best purchase I have made. It holds a lot of food. It's a simple design but door trays really are sturdy and shelves make it easy to store. I purchased some wire baskets that fit perfectly to hold my summer veggies and odd shaped items even though the big wire basket on bottom holds things like that also. I live in SE Georgia and it gets HOT here! This freezer has definitely been up to the challenge and has had no problem when temps get in the 100's out in my laundry room off the patio. When having power outages during hurricanes and storms, I love the green light that shines on the floor that lets me know if there is a power outage. Saves lots of food! I can't say enough about this Frigidaire freezer. Love it!

No more digging to the bottom and forgetting what’s buried down there—everything is right in front of me. So far, I’m very pleased with the performance and accessibility.

Great Garage Ready Freezer

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

This freezer has added much needed freezer space allowing fewer shopping trips and wonderful for allowing me to bake and freeze cookies, muffins and cakes. My only wish is that it had 2 more shelves… thus the 4 star rating. This has been a very harsh winter and it has not had a problem with low temperatures.

Week One

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

So far, so good—just the right size, well lit interior, warnings working as advertised and my food freezes fast at recommended setting. Runs way quieter than my old freezer (much prettier, too). And the reason I got a new freezer: it’s frost free!

Frigidaire I trust no other brand

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I have had my Frigidaire Upright freezer for over a half a year now and am so happy with it. I truly like this brand as in the past years all my appliances with Frigidaire have been truly long lasting with no problems ever. Its everything you will really ever want. At my age I do not know how to put pictures on this review but it will show you on line.

I’m really enjoying my freezer. I formerly had a 9 cf one, and it was always too small. Now I have a 13 cf and it provides plenty of room for all that I want to store in it. I wanted this brand because I trust it. Frigidaire products have been around for a very long time, and it has a very good reputation.

This convertible freezer is perfect for our garage. We finally got rid of our old deep freezer where we could never see and find items we were looking for at lunch or dinner time. This new upright convertible can be used as a fridge or freezer. We use it as a freezer to keep all of the bulk items that will not fit in our Fridgidaire fridge/freezer in the kitchen. With a family of five this addition has been great to store all of our bulk frozen items. It also looks sleek in our garage and is much more energy efficient. I would recommend this upright for any family.

AMAZING APPLIANCE

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I have had this freezer for about a month now. It's functioning very well. I like the green light that lets me know if the freezer is on and working. A very helpful feature. I recently had the same size freezer but a different brand. It was a store brand and cheaper. However, my last one only last 6 years. Hopefully this one will last longer as i did pay more for it mostly I'm thinking it's a brand name. I also have a kitchen range and refrigerator that are Frigidaire and am quite satisfied.

frigidaire garage ready upright freezer

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I love the spacing of the shelves and the storage on the door is awesome. It has alot of space. Love the idea that it has an alarm if the door is not closed properly or left open. I like the fact that theres a green light that shines under the door that lets you know its operating as normal with no problems. These features will prevent a door left open or bouncing back open like happened with my old freezer and I lost all the food in the freezer!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

This freezer replaces a 35-year-old one which was dying by choking on its own frost, so it's not really fair to compare them. It's perfect for our relatively small space to put it. I wish I could review this when we get our next electricity bill after a full month of operation...then I will have more to say. But it has a lot of room for a small-midsize freezer, it runs quietly, and its green light showing proper function is very nice.

Perfect Garage Freezer — Reliable and Spacious

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We are extremely happy with this 13 cu. ft. Frigidaire garage-ready freezer. It’s the perfect size — spacious without taking up too much room — and fits beautifully in our garage. The temperature holds steady even with changing outdoor conditions, which was a must for us. It runs quietly, freezes quickly, and the adjustable shelves make organizing everything so easy. We’ve been able to store bulk items, meal prep, and frozen goods without any issues. The build quality feels solid and dependable, exactly what you’d expect from Frigidaire. Overall, this freezer exceeded our expectations. Reliable, efficient, and well-designed — highly recommend to anyone needing extra freezer space for a garage or home.

Quiet, Comes w/Own Night Light!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Though cost had a lot to do with/purchase, reliability rating was the guiding influence. The freezer is quiet, keeps the food frozen at the right temperature, shelving is well designed. NO NOISE!! That large “you know I’m on” front bottom floor green light is a bit disconcerting at first, but you will know immediately if your electricity goes out even without opening the door!

Great for visual organization

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

This Frigidaire replaced a chest type 5.5 cu. ft. Frigidaire which worked flawlessly for years and continues running. We chose an upright so we could see the frozen foods which is making a tremendous difference. We often forgot about food in the bottom of the chest type unit simply because we could not visualize the food and often expired. As I said, the Frigidaire chest freezer worked flawlessly for years and continues to run, my wife and I feel being able to visualize the food makes it very convenient and will prevent "forgetting" food hidden at the bottom of the chest type unit.

EVERYTHING STAYS FROZEN SOLID IN 97 DEGREE GARAGE

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We bought this freezer a month ago. Our garage gets very hot year round here in Florida, so we needed to be sure we invested in a garage reader freezer. Due to the shortage of freezers during the covid pandemic this is the only brand and model available when we were looking. So far, we are very pleased with our purchase. The freezer keeps food frozen solid in 97 degree temperatures and the door stays sealed shut. I needed to replace a broken freezer at my home and I bought one. Easy to set up: plug it in and adjust the shelves, that's it. It's a clean, unadorned look, and stores much more than I had expected. So I bought another for my vacation home garage. I wish I would have done this years ago. I chose this model because it can keep food frozen for 2 days with no power. This was an important factor for me, because on the coast, we often have power outages. I considered a chest freezer, but didn't want the hassle of defrosting. Now I just hope it lasts a long time.

High visibility inside!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We just got this freezer but are amazed at how we can easily see everything we put in it. We are also amazed that 13 cu. ft. holds a LOT of stuff. It is easy to categorize items too. Early on when we realized we needed more freezer space for the 2 of us, besides the narrow side-by-side freezer on our fridge, we thought we might get a 5 cu. ft. for under the counter. How glad we are we did not make a decision we would have regretted. We are amazed at how much this freezer holds. We will love it. We were alarmed at the startup with the outside sides very hot to the touch. The booklet said it was just the compressor releasing the heat inside as it got colder and I'm glad that was covered under troubleshooting. Once cold it has no warmth on the outside! We waited too long for this freezer, we could not see returning it for what was normal! We finally don't have to dig to see what is in our freezer!

Good Purchase

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Yes, I would recommend this Frigidaire 13 cu. ft. Frost Free Upright Freezer if you want one that has a smaller than normal foot print. It has been working very well in our garage without any issues for the past month. We were concerned at first when the freezer was first turned on because the sides were very hot to the touch, but once it reached the specified temperature the sides cooled down to the same ambient temperature of the garage. We are very happy with our purchase. I also like the green light that shows up on the floor when the freezer is turned on. It is "frost-free" so no defrosting involved and that is a big plus. We have the setting right in the middle, meaning not at the coldest setting and it stays at -10° which is more than enough (we put a thermometer on one of the shelves).

This model provides a while bunch of cold in a really compact space. We purchased the 13 cu. ft. model which is not the largest made. But, the interior space, shelves as well as door, store a large quantity of food. A great added bonus is the peace of mind that comes from seeing the "all is ok" status light on the bottom of the freezer. So far, it's been nothing but green since we first plugged in the freezer.

I bought the fridge about one month ago due to the pandemic and the upcoming hurricane season. I liked the fact that it can keep food frozen for up to 2 days if power goes out. Also, I like the green light at the bottom that lets me know that it is still functioning properly. I was surprised at how much food that it can hold as I was worried that the 13 cu. ft. would be too small.

We bought the freezer to save summer garden treats and to be assured we had some food on hand in case we just don’t feel like braving the store. So far, we’ve got red currants, strawberries, tomato sauce, pesto......all easily visual and within reach. Love the open access of shelves inside and on the door. Nothing hiding and lost on the bottom. LUV OUR NEW FREEZER

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

With the onset of COVID-19, we decided we'd like a freezer to store some extra provisions in case conditions in our area worsened. Problem - none to be had. However, our luck changed a few weeks ago when we found just what we were looking for - a Frigidaire Freezer - not too big (13 cu ft), upright (easy to access), frost-free (no frost build-up or the challenge of defrosting), right price, and a name we recognized and felt good about - Frigidaire. Working on getting it stocked, and could not be happier!

I noticed the outside side panel gets hot. I realize it states on the manual this is normal but it gets hot compared to previous freezer I had which makes me concerned of the longevity. Stopped working after a few months

AJ Madison · 1 out of 5 stars

Purchased this freezer brand new, and it stopped working after a few months. After freezer stops cooling, the ugly green light that brightly shines continues to work to light up the large puddle of water on your floor from your thawed food.
