The food inside is cold and my wife is happy with it. Happy wife... I prefer the one with the water and ice dispenser on the freezer door but she wanted this one. We have ordered a scoop for the ice tray in the freezer as it doesn't come with one. Opening the door to get to the water dispenser works and isn't as bad as I thought it would be. The thing looks great. Having the double doors on top does let you see what is inside it better. Freezer is smaller than the one that this one is replacing.

I wish you had put the button for the inside water so that you could just slide it in and press the glass or cup against the rubber covered button like kitchenaide does. I miss that. Sometimes you don't have two hands...it would be much better.

The cools everything appropriately and the capacity is great. Note that as some others have said, it took a full ~30-hours from the time we turned it on for the cooling temp to be reached and stop running the compressor. It is relatively quiet but does run a bit more often than our last fridge. The plastic drawers rattle a bit, but this seems a standard reality in most fridges of comparable price. Only minor flaw is the design of ice bucket area and switch in the freezer. We don't use the ice maker so turn it off, but then if you try to put other things in the ice bucket area, it can sometimes flip a 'paddle' in the ice maker mechanism that effectively stars to put the ice maker switch halfway back into the on position.

I bought this product based on brand reliability and available functions. Did my research and bought the best option in my price range. Unfortunately upon having it installed I realized that even though there is an abundance of door bins that the fixed bottom ones are pretty much useless and if you decide to put large items like milk or 2 L of soda in the door there is only one shelf that can be used for that making the Shelf below it rather useless. Also rather disappointed with the split shelf that offers no function at all because you cannot put it where you want it. There are only three options of adjusting these shelves and you're pretty much stuck. I ended up taking the small shelf apart and I am only using half of it to get it up and out of the way because I could not switch it to the left side of the refrigerator either. My previous refrigerator had shelves that were adjustable in one inch increments wherever I could have possibly wanted to put them and you offer only three, very disappointed. Also, why is the ice filling function when the water goes into the trays so loud! It seriously sounds like a spaceship is landing in your kitchen. The ice tray is a problem as well. It seems like the ice is going to fall over the back into the bottom drawer because it is filling over the top. Every time I open the door the ice moves back and forth and I am able to catch it before it does so. Now to the drawer function of the freezer. Seems very rickety but all of them of this type seem to be the same. So far in my refrigerator and freezer are keeping the proper temperature. Not sure how many years this drawer will last. Unfortunately viewing into these drawers is difficult unless you open the refrigerator as well to give you an extra 3 in of viewing. Not really happy with the available space. A big downgrade from my side by side French door. Overall it is a nice looking refrigerator for your money made by a quality company. Please be mindful of how you use your refrigerator before you commit to buying one. Not all of them are as functional as you would think they would be by now. My 15-year-old refrigerator gave me many more options. I do however love the internal water dispenser so I no longer have to worry about hard water spots on the front of my refrigerator. Makes for a nice clean appearance.

Overall happy with the fridge. I LOVE the deep storage on the doors. We liked the flexibility of the half shelves, good to store tall bottles as advertised. This model fits in the space nicely as other brands were too tall to fit in the old location. We were careful to measure the opening before shopping. Looked very seriously at the LG first, but the door hinges were HUGE which caused clearance issues for the location in the kitchen. Purchasing the counter depth model made it easier for my partner’s wheelchair to roll by. Two areas of concern: not thrilled with the freezer drawers and slides. The plastic drawers need some metal reinforcement for the freezer compartment and the vegetable and deli drawers are smaller than the Kitchenaid we used to have. Other than those two concerns we are quite happy with our purchase.

Love the counter depth. It gives me more walking space in my kitchen. The shelves are not deep so it makes it easier to grab things out of the refrigerator. The freezer was a little smaller than I thought it would be, because of the in box ice maker. I didn’t want the in the door ice machine. But I can deal with that. I don’t keep frozen food long in it anyway. It was packed very well to prevent damage in shipping. Overall. Very pleased.

We just had our new fridge installed today. So far, we love it! It's roomy with nice compartments to keep all your food and drinks organized. I am short, so I appreciate that I can reach all angles inside. The digital temperature guage is really nice. The exterior, it being stainless steel is awesome and absolutely love, love, love the French door style. We are very happy with our new purchase.

Since it was only installed yesterday so far it's been great. It fit everything in it from my other model but the freezer space is a bit smaller. The refrigerator has more space and visually everything stored is visible. It's beautiful, shiny and pretty quiet.

We were having trouble with our not to old fridge. Was not cooling properly. We found this GE on sale for a great price. We absolutely love this fridge more than any other we have ever purchased. The fingerprint resistant is an awesome feature. We opted for the ice maker in the freezer due to it takes up so much room at the top. With two drawers in the freezer, it is perfect. The water dispenser is located on the side panel (inside) and even more room. We now have plenty of room inside, big compartments on the side, and extremely thrilled with our purchase.

So far I am happy overall with my refrigerator. It is quite in comparison with a more expensive different brand refrigerator I had previously. I feel there will be less possible issues with this make and model. The refrigerator is very nice, but the bottom freezer drawers and door are super flimsy. The freezer does not close smoothly unless it is totally aligned manually with the inside drawers. I wish we had known this or we would have chosen another model. We were also not prepared for the refrigerator to roll away from the wall toward us every time we open the refrigerator or freezer doors. The inside light does not always go on consistently when the left refrigerator door is opened singly. What is your recommendation for the above concerns?

MODEL GWE22JYMFS - I ordered not having seen the model in person. My concerns were how reflective, how quiet, and how much wider do the doors open at the hinge at 90 degree angle. PERFECTLY PLEASED that the stainless does not reflect image clearly but appropriately shadowed. The fridge runs quietly. It has a very low hum different than my previous GE model, but not distracting, and not heard unless house totally quiet. The door projects 3/4 of an inch wider than the refrigerator when opened at 90 degrees Well lit with 3 lights in fridge -and one in freezer. Dark gray side panels. Happy the handles perfectly match my GE dishwasher handle purchased 6 years ago. Capacity suitable for my needs.

I’ve had this fridge for four months. I like the size of the fridge and freezer and the fingerprint proof stainless steel. Overall, I think it’s a great fridge. What I don’t are the produce drawers. They seem smaller than my last fridge and they only open half way making it difficult to put larger items inside. The freezer makes great ice but too much of it is dispensed and it falls inside the back of the freezer which is not easy to access. Other than that, I’m very happy and would recommend this fridge.

We don’t like the freezer. This is our first bottom freezer and the drawer/slides feel cheap and wobbly. Not very spacious but we did get a counter depth and knew we would be losing some space. We love the top refrigerator part.

We love our new French-Door GE fridge. The capacity is good if you need room in your kitchen it's good enough for a family of 3-4 and fits well like any other standard fridge. The cooling works great no issues with that. The Energy efficiency is good. The frige is quite except when making ice and the bucket is empty you can her it dropping into the tray. The shelving is decent for what you pay for.

I wish GE would make more smaller fridges to accommodate smaller 1950's houses. Not too many choices for older homes. After 4 months it still works great! Love the counter depth style, the retractable shelf, drawers, door shelves, and fingerprint free doors. A few things to be aware of: water cannot be dispensed by pushing with a cup (must use finger to push a button); freezer feels wobbly when opening.

Change that is needed for the refrigerator

The refrigerator is great! The thing that should be changed on the refrigerator is the way the water is dispensed. instead of pressing the button on the top (which is located above the water spout}, It should be depressed by the cup, bottle, or container. It would make it so much easier! I have to use two hands with this system, one to press the button and one to hold my glass! Change the location of the button to below the spout, Depress and fill at the same time!

Such an upgrade! Love how this refrigerator is designed for convenience. The drawers are transparent, allowing you to see precisely what is inside. The shelving offers a lot of options, and the light is superbright. There is so much more room than our prior one. It is very quiet and the cooling is even. Plus, GE is known for its dependability.

Love my new GE refrigerator so far! Great look, holds way more than I thought it could, quiet, refrigerator temperature consistent, freezer temperature also perfect. Just one thing, you have to open both top doors to pull out the deli drawer on the bottom. I think dividing the drawer into 2, one on each side would be more convenient for us, i.e. we keep cheese on one side, meats on other and at times need to access only one. Two drawers for deli would be more convenient.

Have had this fridge for just over a week. So far, so good. It's quiet, reasonably roomy, and it looks very nice. No complaints!

I’ve only had my refrigerator for two days. But so far it’s working wonderfully! I like all the features! But PLEASE stop using the blue tape to tape all the parts together. The lighter tan colored tape is not as sticky and works just as well. It’s a lot easier to remove.

We had another brand of fridge that was supposed to be reliable but we ended up replacing the icemaker 4x in 6 years. We bought GE with an inside the drawer ice maker as we'd read that type is more reliable. We are also pleasantly surprised at how much this smaller fridge holds. Love the one shelf that folds back and lets you store tall pitchers.

We love our new GE French Door fridge! The spacious design has been so helpful. Our prior fridge was the same CF, but with the storage bins on the doors, it definitely clears up a good amount of space. I will say the freezer capacity is a bit smaller, but we can work with it. The fridge is wonderfully cold and produce has lasted so much longer. The doors, and fridge itself, are very sturdy and sound.

Has all the features and the look I wanted and expected. Solid looking and solid functioning. Inside door water dispenser is great because no spills or small puddles on display in the front. Keeps the unit looking slick. Very good anti-fingerprent exterior. Less wiping down. I stepped away from the automatic ice dispenser because I had seen it start to malfunction or poorly function on so many other fridges owned by freinds amd family. No regrets. The streamlined look is well worth it. GE is a brand I may come to depend on after this purchase.

I am one of those customers that believe in regular maintenance/cleaning of the product to assure prolonged performance. Having two Great Danes does require we stay on top of maintenance. Fridge looks great and is nice and spacious. The freezer is not as large but it’s fine. The bottom drawer in the fridge isn’t divided, so you have to open both doors if you open the drawer, which is kind of a pain. But overall solid product so far!

Seemed like forever before the refrigertor was delivered but well worth the wait.It is quiet, cools quickly and well lit. I've turned off the automatic ice maker as we don't need it. It is smaller that our older refrigerator but are learning not to purchase the extra large condiments which tend to last months anyway. It looks good and the stainless does not show prints. So far so good!

Installation was a breeze. I had to change it one time..but not a problem. I love the temperature control and i know it is accurate because i had a thermometer that compared. I am short and the counter distance makes everything assessable to me. The doors have convienient shelves that are very handy. The bottom freezer is very accessible too and I have ample room for what we need. The internal water is nice and cold and easy peasy to get too. Id buy it again.

The amount of space I have in this fridge compared to my split unit is insane. Love where the drawers and shelves are placed. We had a very bad experience with another brand that failed after 2 1/2 years. In the past we had a very good experience with our GE washer and dryer and purchased this refrigerator. We love the fact that the ice maker is located in the freezer, in our opinion where it should be. This leaves plenty of room in the main part of the refrigerator. Shelves are wide and can accommodate multiple different sizes of products. The LED light is bright so we can see everything clearly and the crisper drawers and large for both vegetables and fruit. The large drawer we use for storing cheese and meat, especiallt to thaw frozen meet for a couple of days before cooking.

I haven’t had my fridge for long, but I really like how it lights up when you open the doors. I had a 27 ft.³ fridge before so it appears a bit small, which is somewhat deceptive because the door shelves are very deep. The freezer could be bigger, But the tray and compartments in the drawers (Throughout) are very helpful. Aesthetically, this was the nicest fridge I saw.

Just got it. Packaged very well. Wish it had a manual with it. Size is just right. What I like most is the water and ice are not taking up room in this unit. I do not use the water or ice so having it not take up room is very much a good feature. Love the alarms on fridge and freezer. Freezer drawer will take bit getting used to because you have to move top drawer to get to bottom drawer. Unit has plenty of space. Here is hoping to the units long life and carefree ownership.

Spent extra $ to have counter depth unit but had to pull it away from the back wall because it sets next to a wall on the right side. When pushed back to counter depth it doesn't allow the right door to open. Wish I wouldn't have made that choice now or spent the extra money.

Counter depth so things don't get lost in the back. Lip on back of shelves so items don't fall off. Water dispenser works fine, although nothing special. Ice make appears to work well but we have only had the fridge 1 day. Does not fit well in our space, but that depends on your space. Freezer is quite small with what seems to me a lot of wasted unuseable space. It wouldn't work for a family. But we have a nice deep freeze so this works quite fine for us. Opens, shuts easily. Although the freezer top shelf with the ice maker does not move real smoothly. We don't care for stainless, but there is little choice today. This does seem to resist fingerprints somewhat. But we'll see as it ages. Overall I think it was a good buy for us with the constraints and needs we have. Under similar circumstances I would recommend it.

This model is almost "perfect". We've been thru 3 refrigerators in the last 7 years. It is certainly the most quiet fridge and the temperature is consistently on target. The freezer is stable with temperature and minimum freezer burn. The "ony" negative is the plastic shelves and drawers. They tend to feel flimsy and breakable. You must be very careful not to exert any excess strength or pressure as to not have the plastic crack as it is not a sturdy situation. All in all, keeping the flimsy drawers and shelves in mind, this is a great unit and we are quite pleased.

I do love my new GE Refrigerator/Freezer. It is a little bit smaller than I had anticipated, but that is on me and not the product. It still satisfies exactly what I wanted which is the ability to fit platters in the refrigerator. It is also very sleek and modern, and I love the fact that the counter depth gives me more room overall in my kitchen.

Went from a GE refrigerator that had multiple electronic/control problems for most of its 21 year life, the local appliance repair companies would no longer service that product. So far this product has no problems and seems to be much better constructed, but I did purchase an extended warranty for protection.

This is to replace a similar model from LG which broke down after 5 years. We are very happy with it, so far, but it did not come with a printed manual, which we had to get separate from the dealer. Also after a few days, several items were frozen. Only after we had the manual we learned that the vents had to be kept clear to avoid that.

This French Door Refrigerator, counter depth, is a replacement for a 31 year old GE model with a single door and freezer on the bottom. While the capacity is the same as the old refrigerator, the space configuration is very different. The new unit is wider, but shallower and takes some getting used to after storing food the same way for 31 years. The unit is very quiet. No fingerprints. I love the counterdepth in my very small kitchen. Looks great, keeping temps great.

Perfect fit for my cabin. Very happy with the look and size. There is plenty of room inside the refrigerator. I thought I wouldn't like the freezer with the odd way it pulls out, but it actually works great and is easy to reach in and get ice, etc. This is brand new so no idea about long term, but it installed easily, set to factory recommended temps, and all is working as expected.

I was limited by space constraints as to which refrigerator would fit. The only negative I can say is that the water dispenser is limiting. It is impossible to get my coffee pot underneath, so I have to fill a large flexible measuring cup and then pour into my coffee pot. The dispensing hose is not flexible or long enough. The refrigerator looks nice and the ice maker produces more than enough ice

My 12 year old French door fridge died and needed one quick with holidays approaching. Thus unit weighs just half the prior and is 3 cu feet smaller. The freezer door is easier to pull out and the freezer compartment is small. I have a freezer in the garage. We keep a lot of beverages (wine, milk, creamer, beer, sodas cold. I just went out and bought a small separate fridge to accommodate these. Had I the time to do more research I would not likely purchased this model. If you need a small to medium sized fridge don’t hesitate to purchase this GE model . It is quiet and does not seem to run much.

This is an updated review, but GE won't accept it - says "duplicate error". Good looking fridge and excellent climate control with generous capacity. But several annoying features: bottom fridge is clunky and spills ice cubes out occasionally; split top shelf is useless and annoying; filter replacement, they say, is easy - not true; usually have to open both doors, with consequential loss of cool air; wish is were quieter.

Only problems I have are a clumsy attempt to divide an upper shelf into two parts and the freezer that collect ice cubes that often pop out when it gets full. I also wonder how much cool air is lost with both fridge doors open, which often is necessary. Although not bad, it sometimes runs with noticeable noise .

Have owned for just 5 days. But temperature control on bottom freezer is of concern. Temp will increase by 15-20 degrees after freezer drawer is open for less than one minute - if the compressor happens to be off at the time. Then will take several hours to get back to set point (0 degrees). It will stay at least 30 minutes between 20-30 degrees before starting to cool back down. While technically still below freezing not what I expected from a new GE unit. If compressor is running when I open the freezer drawer, the temp rise still occurs, but is reasonable and recovers quickly. I cannot time when I need to open the freezer and when the compressor is running.

I went with GE because I like the brand, but I don’t love this model. The left and right shelves are not interchangeable - I wanted to put the half/collapsible shelf on the left side of the fridge, but it can only be inserted on the right side. Also, I wanted to put the smaller door shelves at the top of the doors, but they can only be installed at the bottom of the doors. The freezer is not designed well - it doesn’t roll open smoothly because the top shelf gets in the way and I wish the bottom area of the freezer went back further. On a positive note, the fridge is pretty quiet.

I very much appreciate the fingerprint resistant stainless steel, and the beeping if door is left open was annoying at first, but I do think it is helpful. I have had vegetables freeze in the drawer and on the upper shelves, despite the temperature setting being at the suggested one. I do not think the capacity is as good as my older 2 door fridge. And the pull out freezer is difficult -- the drawer seems unstable and does not hold nearly as much as a door freezer.

Capacity size fits our needs and the counter depth is perfect. No problems with keeping things cool and the noise level is okay. Shelving options are good. We don’t like the way the ice dispenses and then drops down to the bottom of the freezer compartment when it’s full and the freezer door is opened. We liked the idea of the water dispenser being inside the door; however, we wish the button for dispensing was easier to push and hold. Overall, it’s aesthetically nice, cools well, and has well organized utility.

Plenty of storage inside, and fridge/freezer seem to keep temp well. My main complaint is the noise of the compressor - it's much louder than my old unit, and it seems to run almost all the time. When the house is quiet, it seems like you can hear the fridge running from rooms away.

The refrigerator is attractive from the outside. It keeps things cold. HOWEVER, the shelving, drawer and bin materials are poor-quality plastic (our previous fridge had glass shelves, heavier plastic bins and metal drawers in the freezer). The freezer drawer system is clumsy. The drawer is not stable when pulled open (wabbles). The capacity of freezer is much less than expected. It will due for now. We needed a "counter-depth" fridge for our older home. There were not a lot of options. This will due for now.

The water dispenser does not work at all on Day 1. Pressing the button makes some sound, so it's sending the signal but it doesn't pump the water out. The ice maker works. So it's not an issue with water connection nor with the filter. The manuals could be improved with more information.

I bought this as a replacement for a fridge that died after 25 short months. I've had decent luck with GE in the past, I have a washer and dryer that are running great. The fridge was installed yesterday, and the motor has run for now 28 straight hours. After bumping the temp up, it's still running. Absolute waste of time, money and energy. It's too bad because this is such a great concept and looks really nice. Currently I have the fridge set at 39, and my thermometer is reading 35.

I like the capacity of the refrigerator. Freezer space could be larger. Refrigerator is VERY loud. I can hear it running in the next room. I wouldn't purchase this refrigerator again because of the noise. Water dispenser inside the needs to be reworked. You should be able to press a button with a cup instead of having to hold the button down with your finger to fill the cup. This is very awkward to do.

It's OK, Not Great

Looks nice enough, but feels cheap. The doors are very lightweight, as are the plastic drawers. It is also a bit louder than any of our previous refrigerators. Capacity is decent, and it produces ice fairly well/quickly. It's fine as a second fridge in your basement/garage, but not an impressive appliance for our kitchen.

We enjoyed our GE Profile fridge for 15 years. We replaced with standard GE line. The shelves, rollers, ease of use of all shelves was noticeably cheaper. It just wasn't the same quality. In addition, the new fridge arrived with multiple scuffs on one of the doors. GE was prompt to send a replacement door, but it was the wrong one. Pearson's Appliance stood up for us and accepted the new one back with full credit towards a GE Profile fridge much like our original one. I am hopeful the quality will be better than the standard GE line.

Flimsy freezer

The refrigerator is fine so far. However the freezer door is extremely wobbly and flimsy feeling and there is not a very strong seal. I fear this will not last very long and we may need to have the door repaired or replaced. I would not purchase this again.

Poor Water Dispenser

I like almost everything about the refrigerator, except the water dispenser inside. The dispenser is a tiny tube that sticks out to dispense water. Water gushes out, dispensing a sudden, forceful stream of water, causing the water to miss the glass, spilling on the shelf below. Also, every time you push the dispenser button, the water filter makes a loud knocking noise. I solved part of the problem by placing a sponge in the area where the water spills, and that does help, but you have to remember to remove the sponge when you open the drawer above. I also connected a long, flexible straw to the spout dispenser to help guide the water into a glass. A second 8 glass of water is not cold when it comes out, if more than 8 ounces have just been dispensed before that one. I do like the half shelf for tall items and the large bins that hold gallon containers, but the small bottom shelves on each door are so small that only cans of soda will fit in there. The vegetable bins are barely large enough to hold a small head of lettuce, a large onion, and a couple of tomatoes. I wish I had read more reviews before I purchased this refrigerator.

What a disappointment!

When our refrigerator arrived 2 months ago, we were thrilled. Very spacious, nice shelves- everything we needed -or so we thought. Today we had a repairman out for the second time because the freezer wasn't defrosting. Turns out the ice tray (very low on the backside) was spilling out ice onto the bottom of the freezer and preventing the freezer door from closing tightly, allowing air to enter and causing frost buildup. We still don't know if the ice maker isn't shutting off properly when the ice bin is full or if the ice bin is simply poorly designed allowing ice to spill over. Wish we could send this back and it's too bad because except for this freezer problem we would give it 5 stars...

The motor is not quiet. Do not like the in the fridge water dispenser. The spout is ok for filling glasses or cups but not a coffee pot. The spout is very short. Low capacity. Too small for a family of 6. Things on the top shelf were freezing. The ice maker keeps producing ice and it falls in behind the drawer when you open the freezer. The shelves are not all re-arrangable. With all that being said, this fridge was already in the home when we purchased it.

Worst refrigerator I've ever had. Freezes all our food in the fridge. Lost thousands in food in the past year. They give the run around fixed it monthly and got a replacement still same issues.

I replaced my old GE refrigerator with this refrigerator because the compressor was getting old and Loud. This is a brand new refrigerator and it is louder than the one I got rid of. I will be looking to replace this refrigerator in the coming days.

Too Noisy.

Very noisy when compressor runs which is often. There seems to be a rattling noise not just a hum had repairman out but could not figure out why. Will be asking him to come back if can’t be solved will request an exchange

There are problems with temperature control... food freezes in spots in the refrigerator. While the adjustable shelving adds flexibility, the center brackets take up alot of storage room. The unit is loud and the ice maker takes a long time to make ice.
