This unit replaced a 20 year old GE freezer similar in size. A little more capacity. Better shelving. Improved lighting and significantly quieter. Temperature at about "0" degrees. Just what we needed!

This little freezer will amaze you of how much food you can store inside! This upright freezer lets you see exactly what is inside instead of bending over and shuffling through all your frozen foods and sometimes you can't locate what you are looking for. Oh yes and the freezer temp is displayed on the door ;-)

Bought this to replace a 25 yr old Kenmore that was starting to fail. Wanted reasonable space and less than 30” wide. This fit the bill with 14.1 cu ft. Has wire shelves (perfect for a freezer), door bins and a pull-out basket at the bottom. Clean look in white. Plus features that sold us on this one - high temp alarm, door open alarm, led lighting, external controls. Just installed and waiting for it to cool down so we can transfer the contents of the old one.

Our 10-year-old, extremely reliable GE Freezer was working perfectly until it was damaged when our garage was flooded two weeks ago. Naturally, we purchased another GE Freezer and immediately were pleased and impressed with its modern, clean and sleek lines, the digital settings on the outside of the door and its compact size that fits perfectly in our limited garage space.

Just installed it today (6/26/23). It was up and running at selected temperature within a couple of hours. Love the features such as exterior controls, door alarm and over temperature alarm. I especially love the turbo freeze feature. Great large shelves and a nice large basket. Door bins are a little shallow but usable. For us it’s the perfect size freezer with great features.

I bought one of these freezers during the pandemic to preserve our garden goods. I had an older (not frost free) also at the time with half a head of beef in it. Recently I got tired with having to defrost that one and replaced it with an identical model. This is a great feeezer and I like the added functionality of low temp / door open alarms. A great freezer; highly recommended!

We’ve had the freezer for a few months. It replaced an ancient chest freezer. We are pleased with the capacity, the ease of retrieving items and assessing what’s there, and the even temperature. We don’t know but imagine that the unit will be far more energy-efficient than the old chest freezer.

Last one we had lasted 10 years. It was not garage rated & our garage gets hot in the summer months. Especially these days! It just stopped working & got really hot yesterday. Maybe Heat Exhaustion! I hope this one will last more than 10 years.

The freezer is so quiet, you can’t even tell that it’s plug in. The capacity is outstanding and I love the turbo freeze feature. My power bill actually went down after I purchased this freezer to replace another GE that I had which was over 20 years old. The shelves are spaced perfectly and my ice cream is kept at the perfect temperature.

We love the fact that this freezer has the temp controls on the outside of the door. (With previous freezers, food items would bump into the control and alter the temp, then we’d have to unload foods to get to the control itself.) We like the wire metal shelves which allow an even temp flow throughout. We like the wire metal basket that allows us to pull it out to reach foods inside. This freezer is quiet, and keeps our foods frozen rock-solid. The door compartments are nice for smaller items like cans of juice, etc. It’s everything we hoped for.

This freezer is great for our family. We struggled with a small French door freezer, and now we're able to buy in bulk, freeze meal prep containers, and freeze extra food that would've otherwise gone bad. It's very quiet and keeps cool easily. We also love the upright shelves, so we don't have to hurt our backs bending forward or digging though piles of food. We haven't noticed a big increase on our energy bill either, so that's a bonus! The only point I'd have to take off is for the lock. Unfortunately, the lock (not seal) is slightly off center, which causes it to not lock properly. However, we don't intend to transport it or lock it up for any reason, so I don't see a need to return. I highly recommend this freezer!

I'm a single woman who likes to cook and vacuum seal for the freezer. My side-by-side refrigerator/freezer did not have enough room so purchased a 14cf freezer for garage. No wasted space inside, door shelves, visible temperature gauge on outside with a beep alarm if the door is ajar or open for a long period of time. Love it!

I was looking at replacing a large working 45-year-old Kenmore freezer for something frost free, energy efficient as I now am the only one in the household. I definitely needed a freezer as I needed the freezer space for my items and my dogs' frozen raw dog food. This freezer fit the bill perfectly, not too large and not too small. I really like the handle as it makes it easier for me to open and also the digital display.

Received new freezer to replace 16 year old one that was having issues. This GE garage ready upright freezer is spacious and well-designed, making it easy to organize and access frozen items, much better than a chest freezer. Appreciate the on the door digital temperature display, door alarm, and frost-free feature, which enhances convenience. Door can be difficult to open due to a strong seal, but strong seal is a good thing. Overall, the freezer meets expectations for reliable extra freezer space in the garage.

We replaced a chest freezer with this GE upright freezer just a week ago, so I can comment only on how quiet and convenient it is. I like the shelf distribution (there is a little leeway for adjusting a couple of the shelves), and the fact that it is not too deep. It's easy to keep track of what is inside and the temperature is clearly shown outside the door. I was finding it impossible to get anything out of the chest freezer so things were getting lost and outdated in there. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I also love the bright light in the freezer, it is much brighter than my refrigerator light. One of the reasons I picked this model is because it is Garage Ready. That is the same reason I love the lock. I live in a duplex with one shared garage space. Each side has it's own garage door but there is no wall between the two sides. I live on a very busy street. The neighbors frequently leave their garage door open for several hours. They are also very nosey and have even gone through my trash and recycling.

We just bought an upright freezer to replace one that was pronounced dead by our repair man. We had many to choose from but took the 14 cubic foot size. It had more shelves than our previous one and a light that makes it easy to find anything inside. We were unaware of the light until we had it installed since floor models are not plugged in. The light is the best feature of this freezer. Even my husband noticed.

This freezer for my garage is just what I needed to replace an old one which gave up the ghost. It's the perfect size, is lockable, the temperature shows on the outside of the door. It has an alarm in case the temperature drops or there are other problems. Lots of shelves, a big basket at the bottom, just in time for a Thanksgiving turkey!

I want to commend GE for the great packaging on this freezer there was no damage when we unpackaged it and the extra care they took to protect the inside of the freezer as well. I have to say this freezer so far has been better than I expected. I plugged it in and within a few hours it was down to zero degrees Fahrenheit with a 90-degree garage temperature. I opted for the 14 cubic foot model but there is more room than expected with all the shelving including door storage. I really appreciate the extra features on this freezer: Door lock, door alarm, temperature alarm, front digital display, and of course the LED lighting and frost-free feature. Great job GE this one is a keeper.

Just took delivery of a new upright freezer. Seems to be well made, time will tell. I like the well lit interior via the LED lighting. Digital display for entering the temperature setpoint is convenient, but after reading the manual I have not realized any possibility of reading the actual temperature inside the freezer. I guess I'll have to resort to my old fashioned mercury thermometer for that. Shure would have been nice to read the actual temp on the display though!

A very nice, smaller than our first, upright freezer. The features are great and I pick this model because it is E-Star rated. I am sure my old 15 year old model was not so energy efficient. I bought this freezer because my friend had recently purchased the larger size model and did extensive research before buying and it had good reviews. She loves her freezer. I have only had my freezer for a week and also happy with my purchase. My only issue I have had was that it was set by the store delivery team at “Turbo Freeze” and it was supposed to turn off automatically after 8 hours. It did not turn off and I tried to turn it off myself and the panel was locked. I could not change any of the temperatures or turn off the turbo so I contacted the store. They had me unplug it for 3 minutes and plug back in and it all works fine now.

This was a replacement for a chest freezer. I am so excited to have a garage freezer again! Less trips to the store and with the Energy Saver feature it won’t drive up my electric bill. The freezer was cold in less than 2 hours. Love the temperature feature on the door. It’s easy to read and adjust the settings. I’m grateful for the 48hour guarantee of the power should go out.

We have only had it about 3 weeks but so far so good. I love the digital display on outside of freeze. Lots of shelves in door and really like the bottom basket. The only thing is after you open it once and close it back up its almost impossible to get it back open. Wait a couple of minutes and much easier to open.

We are really looking forward to using our new GE freezer. I really like that the inside temperature is displayed on the outside of the door. Also, like that there is a warning sound when the freezer is getting too warm or the door is left open, and an inside light when door is open. And, the freezer can be locked. Sweet!

We love the service we received. The first product out to the house was the wrong model number mislabeled on the Manufacturing box. The store returned it and delivered the new one, set it up and balanced it. We love the compactness of it, the wire shelving and the ease of setting up. Just the right size for us. We located it online, so order it site unseen but love the looks of it once it was delivered.

Purchased specifically for a garage. Love the feature that shows the temp on the outside of the door, great peace of mind that frozen foods are at the right temperature. The shelving is at good heights, and the bottom basket is easy to pull out, even when fully loaded with heavy foods.

I always had upright freezers but the last time I bought a chest freezer. Big mistake! Every time I went to look for something I had to unload everything because the item was at the bottom of the chest freezer. This mid-size freezer and it’s perfect for what I use it for. Plus it’s built to be stored in a garage.

This is our first upright freezer and it's layed out very well. We are very satisfied with the quality. It has light on the inside when opened so it's very easy to see what you have. I opted for the wire shelving and there's a wire basket in the bottom. They are very sturdy.

This freezer would be perfect except for one thing: if you have teenagers you have to tea h them not to slam the freezer door as it pops back open if you close it hard or fast. As long as you close it normally or slow - no issues. Obviously that isn’t a deal breaker, but it truely is the only complaint I have.

Our new freezer has been fantastic! We should have got an upright a Long time ago. It’s the perfect size. We ordered wire racks and had to wait a couple of months, but happy we did. I know it is more efficient than the chest freezer as we no longer have to unload half the freezer to get what we need out of it. Now we just simply open and grab and shut. A quiet fan briefly turns on after the door shuts. Like the alarm. If you do take too long it will let you know. Yes, very satisfied and we never hear it run.

It's wonderful when something you buy does everything well. This freezer can take the wider temperatures of the garage without any issues. Our area suffers from power failures on occasion and the GE does a better job of keeping the food cold than its competitors -- that's a big savings over time. There's a temperature readout on the door so you can see at a glance that everything is ok. The door shuts securely with a magnetic seal and it locks to protect contents if you're away, too. Having the extra storage has let us stock up when sales hit and to have reserves for busy times. I wish we had bought this sooner.

We have had chest freezers that we used in the past and it seemed we had to take everything out to find what wr wanted and always ended up throwing food out because it would get lost on the bottom. The shelves and bottom storage bin keeps everything in order and no matter ehat the outdoor temp is the freezer stays at our programed temp.

We researched many products before we purchased this GE freezer. Reliability was the motivation for deciding on this freezer as we previously owned a smaller GE non frost free freezer for 30 years and sold it in perfect running condition when we moved. The light inside, self defrosting and temperature indicator located on the outside of the door are great features. Definitely looking forward to another 30 years of trouble free service.

This freezer fits our needs as a family who buys in bulk to save money. There is ample room for meats and vegetables. Although our previous freezer was the same size, we couldn't fit all the food that we had in that freezer in this freezer. Like the features of the temp on the door and the warning signal. These features were not on the freezer that we replaced which was 30+years old. Just hoping to get as good wear with this new freezer. Still have not noticed a difference in our electric bill, which is what we were told would happen with a newer model compared to the 30 year old one.

Happy with our freezer. We bought it because it was the only one that would fit into the space we had, and we're glad we ended up with it because it works well for almost everything, and the price was reasonable. Food freezes quickly and stays frozen, even though we open the door often when preparing meals. We're not sure about bread, though. It doesn't get as hard as it does in our refrigerator freezer.

We have had our first GE 14 cubic foot freezer for 18 years. It is still working, but we were afraid it might go out some time while we were traveling. So we bought a brand new GE 14.1 cubit foot freezer and gave our 18 year old one to the kids. We have only had the new one two weeks, but we love it and there is more shelf space in the new one. Here's to hoping for another problem free 18 years!

Power failure feature alarm doesn’t work

Bought this last month. We lost power. The manual states an alarm will sound if the temp is too high. It says the temp alarm will sound again in 6 hours if the temp isn’t restored. We never heard an alarm UNTIL we reset the power. That does us no good because we lost every thing in the grerzer. Then I I tried to write customer relations department based on the email in the warranty packet but that e mail wasn’t valid.

We have only had our freezer for a year in a half and the compreser locked up and was told by the appliance repair man that it will cost more to fix it then it will be to replace it. We have always had GE products for the last 50 years in fact all our kitchen appliances are GE and never had any issues. We are very diappointed in this freezer
