Poorly lit.
AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars
It is a well set up appliance with only one defect. There is only one light in freezer and the bottom shelves are in the dark.

Customer photo 1Great freezer but handle is a little flimsy
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
So far I have been very happy with this freezer. My only complaint is that the handle could be sturdier. Only held on by two phillips head screws.

Great quality

Freezer is very quiet and does it’s job very well. This the first Danny product we have owned and I am very satisfied with the quality, fit and finish.

Happy with purchase
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
I had never heard of Danby before looking for a new freezer. After seeing several other brands it seemed to me that this one from Danby was the best as far as design, size, and shelf layout that I saw. I've had this freezer for around 6 months, and it works perfectly for my use. No frost is also a huge improvement over my old unit.

Danby Freezer
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
We upgraded from an old chest freezer to this Danby. We threw out a lot of food simply because it was difficult to dig through and move things around to see what was in there. The new one is so nice with lots of space.

Working great so far. I like the temperature control and readout. Didn’t give 5 stars because I haven’t had it very long.

Great freezer but not frost free.
AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars
Great freezer for the price. Love the space in the doors and bottom drawer. The only reason I can't give it a 5 star rating is because it keeps frosting up even though it said it was frost free.

Power outage
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
We recently had our power out for 5 days and the items in our freezer showed no sign of thawing. I actually even put things from my small freezer and my refrigerator in it and it froze the thawed items and kept the frozen items frozen. Also really like the light inside when you open it.

Freezer
AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars
I was disappointed in the product, as I couldn't reverse the door, as the predrilled holes were not drilled correctly.

Desperate for a freezer
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
Had to but a freezer for our beef, this was the only one we could find, actually had a friend buy it for us (it was across the state) we met then half way. The freezer is awesome, works great, definitely would buy one again.

We are really enjoying our new Danby Upright 16.7 Cu Ft Frost Free Freezer. The interior LED lighting makes it easy to locate the item(s) inside and we've noticed it operates very quietly.

An Excellent Purchase
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
Although we have owned several freezers, this is our first upright freezer purchase. We have loved this freezer! The freezer holds an amazing amount of food and the shelf design is perfect making it easy to find whatever we are looking for. The door storage allows easy access to our frozen fruits and the space at the bottom of the freezer is perfect for packaged vegetables. It was delivered in perfect condition and any instructions needed were easy to follow. An excellent purchase!!

Danby Upright Freezer
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
The freezer is perfect for me. It saves me a lot of time. I dont have to bend down and move stuff out to find what i want with my chest freezer. I love this upright freezer
Buom Le · Feb 24, 2021
A well made product.
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
No problems at all. We love our freezer just like we love our Danby Wine Refrigerator.
Bob W · Feb 24, 2021
Seems to be ok except for the leaking door seal.
AJ Madison · 3 out of 5 stars
Seems to work ok, but the door seal leaks at the top and builds frost in that area.
Nick in Washington · Feb 25, 2021
Hinge problem
AJ Madison · 3 out of 5 stars
The hinges as installed did not allow the door to seal on the hinge side. The freezer was remote from the site of purchase. Realizing any modification might affect my warrantee and being a professional fabricator, I non the less, modified the hinges and completely corrected the problem. Other than that, the unit is top notch, serves our purpose and appears to function as hoped. I would purchase another Danby unit.

Great while it lasts
AJ Madison · 2 out of 5 stars
Pros: freezes well, spacious, reversable door, well insulated, 5 year warranty Cons: died in two years, company will not complete warranty service, company not answering emails so the warranty is kind of pointless
CDinAZ · Jul 15, 2024
Great Freezer! However, it only lasted a year and 2 weeks before the 1st year purchase anniversary, it stopped working.
AJ Madison · 2 out of 5 stars
This freezer was just right for us, but right before a year of purchase, it stopped working. We switch it to other receptacle outlets and nothing.
Sam and Linda · Oct 12, 2022
Stopped working after 2 yrs.
AJ Madison · 1 out of 5 stars
The freezer simply stopped working costing us to lose over 1,000 dollars on contents. Including pasture raised beef, Raw dog food, and other items. Gross mess to clean up . Really expensive loss.

Snow job
AJ Madison · 1 out of 5 stars
Piece of junk. Don’t waste your money. The seal is bad and can’t find parts. The freezer feels with snow.
