I am very happy with my new GE refrigerator, it has the space I need, especially the room in the door. It is very bright inside as well. I love having the water and ice on the door, that is very convenient to me. The ice maker is huge, im sure it will make alot of ice but it takes up alot of room in the freezer. It is loud when its adding water to make ice. You will know if you leave the door open as the door alarm is loud. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Just replaced my 20 year old GE side by side with the same but newest model. I love the newer changes to shelving and space. Like the improved water and ice display in front of the freezer door. It doesn’t have a deli drawer like old one but don’t really miss it.

I just got it last week replacing another one I had with issues. Now this one is not making ice. We tried everything and is not working, we put on and off and still not working. The water is connected and we get the water in the door.

I absolutely love my new refrigerator, I love all the space , really love all the shelving in the doors ,gives me plenty of space for bigger things , nice and cold , great lighting , see everything easily at night , should b alot more efficient then my old one , save money on my electric bill,with the ice maker outside , both cubed and crushed ice ,and cold water dispenser ,it's the best thing I've bought into my kitchen , I love everything about it ,put a smile from ear to ear on my face , and I love bragging to all my friends about it ,Everytime they come over ! The compartments and shelving are perfect. The y allow for reconfiguration of the entire inside to meet your own needs. The capacity allows for plenty of room in both the freezer and fridge. The double sided doors make it easy to store and retrieve the various food items. The front control panel is also helpful in monitoring temperature, dispensing water and a variety of ice. It is also made with a clean and sleek design that would complement any home.

We've had this refrigerator for a couple weeks now. Overall, we really like it so far. The tray that holds the ice is not very easy to remove, but we don't see the need to take it out very often, so should be ok. Wish it had a deli tray/compartment, but that's alright. We'll look for an after market tray online. Because we live in a humid environment, we've noticed condensation building up and dripping from the ice dispenser flapper door. Really like the lighting and how it starts off dim when you first open the door and slowly brightens. Capacity great. Shelving great. Keeping good temperature. Purchased b/c it's energy efficient.

Good working refrigerator, easy adjust temperature in both refrigerator and freezer. The only issue that I have is that the two doors don’t line up properly. The refrigerator door is tilted lower than the freezer door.

This fridge is very spacious and the freezer side is a huge size upgrade from my previous one. I’ve had it for a month and haven’t had any issues. I love the overall design. My only complaint is that the ice maker drips sometimes, but there may be a way to make that stop.

The fruit/veggie drawers, and the condiment shelves are too low to the bottom and the condiment shelves are a bit small. Overall the product is nice and just standard, it was not a top pick. It's more smaller on the inside than it looks, but it's nice and will get the job done.

The refrigerator is nice but is not up to the same quality of the same model number I have owned for the past 6-7 years. Looks cheaper in workmanship and above all, is missing the middle close in compartment that I enjoyed putting lunch meat and accessories in. Was somewhat disappointed and I hope this one last longer than my older better made version.

Unfortunately, I purchased a scratch and dent. After cleaning it up, it does look good on the outside. The inside has several imperfections in the racks and there are large chunks of what looks like glue. The capacity is okay, but not near what I had previously. Configuration, Cooling and Energy is great.

I really like this refrigerator, it has been working great. Being able to adjust the shelves is nice, some more expensive refrigerator you are limited to the height of the containers you can put on shelves. You can also adjust the shelves in the freezer, which is great. I like the idea where I can check the temperature of the freezer & fridge from the door outside without opening it. I would suggest this refrigerator for anyone looking for one this size, at a good price.

I've had this refrigerator for a week now and I love it! It's large enough for my family of 4. It's well lit inside and had plenty of useful space for all of our food. I don't have a water connection installed yet so I don't use the ice/ water dispenser. I like that there is a shelf above the icemaker to store ice cube trays out of the way so I'm not taking up shelf space below. Overall I am very happy with this refrigerator!

This unit is a minimum 4.5. It's an energy-efficiency rated fridge with ideal capacity and functional features. Would like to have had a deli compartment and one more shelf for the side fridge door. Otherwise, the GE looks like a very good replacement for the Kenmore Elite.

The new refrigerator is excellent. It has deep set shelves, shelf space and the features to control temperature are easy to locate. The lighting inside and alarm feature that will keep alerting you if you've forgetting to close the fridge door is a great and energy efficient. The temperature controls are located on the front door of the freezer. Also, the filter is in a easy to reach location, if you're short line myself that's a plus. I would recommend this product as the capacity of storage is suitable and it's overall a great refrigerator.

Not Up to Old Fridge in Design

Temperatures right on 0 freezer and 37 fridge. Door shelves poorly designed: std. ice cream container slightly too large for freezer door. Fridge door shelves need 1/16 in. more depth to fit std. salad dressing jar. Contains only 4 fridge shelves (old Hot Point had 5) resulting in wasted cubic air space. Height 2 inches more than old fridge which required removal of cabinet on top. Depth 3 inches more than old fridge makes it look oversize. Other than the poor inefficient dimensional design, it runs quietly and was the best replacement available for our 32 yr. old Hot Point side by side.

Replaced a 22 year old GE "GSS25" refrigerator. Same model line. Nice updated features with thicker and heavier doors. LED lighting is nice. So far it works very well. Only negative is the loss of a fourth shelf in the freezer. My old one had a fourth shelf just above the bottom freezer bin.

I LOVE THE LOOK AND ACCESSIBILITY OF FOOD FROM THE FRIDGE. THE SHELVES ARE SOLID AND THE PANEL IS CLEAR TO OPERATE. I CHOSE WHITE AND HAD TO CUSTOM ORDER, BUT I LOVE IT AS IT LOOKS CLEAN AND ONE CAN CLEAR FINGER PRINTS UNLIKE THE METAL LOOK. THE BOTTOM DRAW STICKS A BIT BUT I HAVE TO FIDDLE WITH IT TO FIND OUT WHY. THE NARROW SHELVES ARE BELOW THE BROADER ONES ON THE FIDGE DOOR, SO ONE MUST BEND TO SEE WHAT ARE IN THEM, BUT OVER TIME IT WILL BE OBVIOUS.

Side by side fridge/freezers weren’t as spacious as I thought they were. I have to stack things which is hard to do and it won’t fit a pizza box. The doors have a feature to prevent slamming maybe? It usually just results in my fridge never closing. Thankfully the door alarm works on it. Water filler works great.

The ice and water in the door is poorly configured. It only fits the smallest bottles and glasses. If you tilt the bottle’s mouth, water and ice falls all over the floor. The refrigerator door is difficult to open and keep open, especially for me in my wheelchair. The tiny shelves are set back too far for me to reach.

Next 24 hours will decide if I return this refrigerator or keep it. Overall quality is good but there are a few areas where the build quality is not what I was used to with old unit this replaced (not a GE). Disappointed that I can't "lock" the rollers in place without affecting the height causing top to hit bottom of cabinets above even though stated dimensions on this are only 7/8" higher than what it replaces which did not come within over an inch of hitting. The two drawers, not three like appear to have been in the GE model this number replaces, are not really sturdy and I doubt will hold up to years of opening and closing. Also, its hard to understand why the white price was so much higher than stainless steel look price. Bought white because I did not want to replace all the other appliances in kitchen which which work well and look good just to have a matching kitchen. Hopefully, if I do keep it, this refrigerator will last a long time without problems.

I’ve only had it a few weeks, better review would be owning it years. I had a similar product that quit delivering water & problems with temperature. Repairs were done. I decided to buy a new one after repair. I understand they make things to fail on purpose after a few years to make more profit . My previous one had a small 3rd drawer in the middle that used for cheese. I Didn’t know how much I was going to miss that drawer. This one didn’t have it. It has two good bottom drawers.. So there is a container space difference.

Just okay small

Small but functional. I like that I can dispense water and ice while the refrigerator door is open. The freezer is extra small and the bottom shelf crate/basket barely holds any thing. This was the offered appliance in our home build. I did not choose this but I also didn’t choose to upgrade.

Low end of GE refrigerators - very noisy - would not recommend for an open floor plan. Came with new build with no options to upgrade. Ice maker is difficult to access to turn off & on - again this is lower end model -upgrade if at all possible within your budget. -

Decent fridge, a bit loud and missing a deli drawe

It's a refrigerator, it doesn't have a complicated job to do and the tasks shouldn't be very difficult. This unit replaces an earlier GE side-by-side of similar size (25.x ft3). The previous refrigerator had the common freezing water dispenser issue, the plastic bins were replaced a couple of times due to cracking and falling apart, and it's one of the few models that fits in the silly space in our kitchen. This new one has a redesigned water dispenser so hopefully the freezing water doesn't happen again. I do like the LED lighting. What I miss, and didn't realize at the time of purchase, is the lack of a deli drawer. This unit is also a bit louder than the GE it replaces. Adding a deli/cheese drawer would get it another full star in my book, if it were quieter, that would be worth another star.

This refrigerator would not have been my first choice, but I accepted it out of frustration and urgent need because I had been without a main fridge for nearly four weeks due to the slow response by the warranty company. One complication was that the white finish is very hard to find, and the choices available through the home warranty company were very limited. I am not a fan of the side-by-side concept, per se, but this appliance does have ample storage capacity for my family. The refrigerator side is very well lit, but the freezer side, not so much. It is somewhat difficult to see the bottom third of the freezer. I do not care for the design of the freezer at all, in terms of layout - permanent shelves versus moveable shelves. In general, the shelves on the door of the freezer are fairly useless...Likewise, I was not thrilled to learn that an ice maker came standard with all models that were available to me. I am not a fan of that feature. I probably would not even connect it. I suppose you might just say that I took what was available in white at the time, and I would've preferred a freezer on the bottom model without an ice maker. I more or less had limited choices, and I just needed a fridge. That worked. Period. This fridge is just good enough...First world problem...

The refrigerator is preforming very well, but the lack of a lunch meat/cheese drawer is greatly missed. ( My previous GE side by side had one.) Also, the shelving configuration in the freezer and the huge wasted area above the wire basket at the bottom is a real challenge, which I have yet to resolve.

The refrigerator looks nice, and has decent storage space. The filter uses technology to ensure you can only buy GE filters which are expensive compared to other brands. Also, the icemaker frequently jams causing you to need to pull out the ice drawer and shake the ice and break up a large chunk of ice.

This is the worst refrigerator I have ever experienced. I just bought a new construction home and they provided this refrigerator. When it goes into a certain cycle, it creates a very loud buzzing/vibrating noise that I can hear several rooms away. I told the builder I want a replacement and they told me to contact manufacturer.

I would have given it a zero star if possible and a zero star for GE's warranty service. this was a new unit I bought and no water comes out of the fridge. turns out the filter cartridge is freezing preventing the water to come out. made a warranty service request and the service man came and told me that there was not enough food in the fridge that's why the filter was freezing. the refrigerator was set at 40 degrees which is 3 degrees above the manufacturer recommended 37 degrees and it was still freezing. the actual temp was 29 degrees in the refrigerator even when it was set at 40 degrees. they should replace the defective refrigerator. I have scheduled another repair service with them, lets see what excuse they come up with this time.

Much wider than spec

The fridge works nice. It has fewer shelves in the freezer, and no deli drawer. The wheels roll nicely. Reasonably quiet. But when we tried to install it in our 36” wide space, it didn’t even come close to fitting. The reason is that they spray insulating foam into the sides and don’t prevent it from bulging. I had to remove the blueboard on one side of the fridge nook to get 0.5” back. Very disappointing.

Poor design

Horrible. Capacity as advertised were nearly identical to the 20 year old Fridgedaire that were replaced, but due to interior configuration this unit does not hold nearly as much. Poor shelf placement and design. The ice maker is so slow on delivery I think the motor will burn up before ice drops. Over all it is a cheap imitation of the unit we replaced.

The motor in the freezer makes a non stop loud sound. I have only owned this for 6 months. Someone came out to look at it and said it was normal. The motor is loud. Also the spring came off of the water dispenser. Not impressed with this refrigerator and it came with the new house so I didn’t get to choose it.

GE puts RFID readers in their fridge to stop people from using counterfeit water filters. And when this RFID reader fails, it stops you from using genuine GE water filters. This means you can't use YOUR fridge which you paid for to dispense WATER or ICE unless you pay them hundreds of dollars.

The refrigerator makes a lot of noise when it is attempting to reach its set temperature. When you add a number of items, the motor needs to work hard to maintain its temperature. The side by side is very narrow. I am constantly moving things to get at what I need. When I put a 4 cup measuring bowl up to the filtered water dispenser, the water pours out fine. When I am finished filling it and I pull the bowl away, some water inevitably spills down the fridge. Had this refrigerator not come with my new home, it is one I would quickly eliminate as an option.

I don't love it. If it was my choice, I would not have purchased a side-by-side. It lacks shelf and door shelf space. There is no deli tray. Just 2 bins at the bottom. But this is what came with the new build and when it dies, I will go back to the french-door style which I previously owned and it was a GE.

I loved this refrigerator until today! I have had it 1 year and 4 months to wake up this morning to water all over my laminate flooring because the freezer stopped cooling over night and all the ice was melting and running out of the ice dispenser. For the money I paid for this and it already quit freezing is crazy. Luckily I have a deep freeze so the meat that had not thawed yet could be saved. The refrigerator side was warm as well so I had to move all the dairy, eggs, and meat to our small drink refrigerator. I see I am not the only one that has had this issue with this model.

Disappointing on several levels

The GSE25GGPWW has been disappointing on multiple levels. It was as if the mechanical engineering team and the interior design team never worked together. The interior design of both the freezer and refrigerator is terrible compared to our last non-GE refrigerator. In the freezer for example, having an entire shelf for icemaking (instead of integrating it in the door) and string ice is a waste of space. The bottom shelf is 21" above the lower basket, which means you have to pile up food on top of each other to use the space. Also, the 2" wide door shelves are virtually worthless. The refrigerator itself has two pull out drawers for fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately, the larger one is smaller than the smaller drawer of our last refrigerator. Very limited capacity for fresh fruits and vegetables. Also, the top shelf is obstructed by a tower that limits the its usability and capacity. Overall, the refrigerator capacity and usability is disappointing. Finally, one of the reasons we bought this particular refrigerator is that you are supposedly able to see what the temperature is in the refrigerator by using the control panel on the outside of the door. I have no idea where they are measuring the temperature but it certainly isn't in the freezer or the refrigerator. We have remote electronic sensors in the freezer and refrigerator that wirelessly transmit the respective temperatures to a control panel that we magnetically attach to the outside of the refrigerator door. They NEVER agree with the constant 0 and 36 degree temperature that the GE says the temperature is in the freezer and refrigerator, respectively - not even closely. On the brighter side, we are looking forward to seeing the Energy Star rating be reflected in our energy bill!

Well , this was not my choice, it was the builders. So to me this is builder grade. I don’t like side by side. I prefer French door with freezer on the bottom. Bottom two drawers are too low for us with bad backs. Also it froze one dozen of eggs.
