Awesome Fridge

Our old fridge went out and we needed something asap! I have always been fond of whirlpool, and I didn't realize MAYTAG was made in a whirlpool factory, however it won us over with the tougher handle design and the 10 year warranty the salesman told us on the compressor, which is the issue we had with our whirlpool. So that ease of mind was great! We have had it a little over a week and love it, the only thing I am a little unsure about is I don't love that the water dispenser drips some drops more than 3-5 seconds after we fill our cups. Maybe that's normal as I have never had a built in water dispenser. I also wish it was considered energy efficient! But I am super happy with the overall look and function so far! I love the alarm when it's been open for too long, helpful feature when I have children!

Beautiful and sturdy fridge

I bought this to replace my old fridge which was over 25 years old. It seems very sturdy and the handles feel like they can withstand my teenage son pulling on them constantly. He said the filtered water from the dispenser is amazing! I love the retractable shelf. It fit perfectly in the space and matches my other stainless steel appliances beautifully.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Had my new French door fridge for a little over a month. Love the looks of it. Love the ice maker and water in the door. Freezer on the bottom good too. My old Maytag had split shelves and one you could wind up or down. I loved that about the fridge. I think this fridge would work much better if it had half shelves too. The shelf that pushes back is ok but I find to use the part at the back I have to move all the tall items to put stuff in behind. If the shelves were split all the tall stuff could go in one side and the other shelves would be more useful. I also find if I put stuff in the shelves in the middle by the vent the items tend to have ice in them. I like the produce keepers the one larger and one smaller. The meat cheese drawer is good too holds lots. The door shelves are good too. I find I have too many condiments for the doors. Over all I like the fridge but splitting the shelves in half instead of the push back half shelf I think would make more sense then you wouldn’t have to keep moving the tall stuff to put short stuff in behind.

Very pleased with my new refrigerator. The highlight is the ice maker….I have wanted one for over twenty years. The configuration of the shelves is a little hard to get used to but it seems to work well. The start up directions are a bit intimidating . E.g., throw away the first three batches of ice and drain three gallons of water through the filter as part o f the set up. But, I did it and my refrigerator is working perfectly. Very happy with my purchase!

The best solution to a bad situation

I was forced to run out and buy a new fridge unexpectedly when ours died died and we had to their out all the food. I had intended to but a cheap, even used, replacement. But after searching dozens of fridges I chose this one because it had all the features I loved like a large cheese drawer, French drawers, bottom freezer and an ice box located IN the freezer, not in the door. I was not happy about what had happened nor buying such an expensive fridge unexpectedly, but the exceptional warranty and beautiful design of the fridge won me over. Though it is about 2 inches smaller than our last fridge, the inside cubic space is about the same somehow and I've been impressed with how quiet it is.

Close to perfect

Purchased a month ago. 30" unit has plenty of room and a good shelf design for storing a variety of sized items. Plenty of good door shelves as well. Fruits, vegetable, and meat drawers are also very generous. The freezer is also very generous in space and designed for easy access. Even with an ice maker, the unit is very spacious. The only slight inconvenience is that the French doors don't open a full 180 degrees, but just something to get used to.

After our move, we faced the fact that the planned kitchen remodel was unaffordable in the next couple of years. We painted the cabinets, which helped, and then replaced the frig. What a great choice! It fits, for one, in a weird cubby, and it’s so easy to use, from the electronic controls on the French doors to the design of the freezer and inner shelves… flexible, clean and transparent. We love this refrigerator. It also classes up the whole space. Thank you, Maytag.

Good fridge; does the job

I have a small space, and I needed a small (30 inch) refrigerator that is up-to-date and efficient. I replaced my 2008 refrigerator with this one. The only downside I discovered it’s at the two drawers for vegetables are a bit loose. I’ll get used to the modest shakiness of those two shelves. The fridge does a great job of keeping frozen food frozen and refrigerated food cold. The icemaker makes plenty of ice, doesn’t overflow, and they’re nicely shaped. The external water dispenser is a great feature that I’ve not had on the refrigerator before. No all right

Purchased this bottom freezer french door refrigerator to make access easier. I love that part about it. I wanted American made and to purchase local. It is very quiet. A couple things I would change, the freezer drawer compartment not really useable for frozen pizza boxes. I also would like to see more flexibility for tall items in the refrigerator.

A lot packed into a small fridge

I had to buy a new fridge! I have a small kitchen with narrow doors, this fit the bill and has some nice features. I like the air and water filters icon on the outside to let me know when they need to be replaced. One shelf folds in half for tall things, short in the back tall up front. I love one big veggie drawer and one narrow. I use the narrow for snacks for the grand kids.

30" Wide French Door with water feature.

The refrigerator was delivered in late January. It was installed efficiently and an explanation of features was provided. i enjoy having the water feature on the door. It is only a 30 inch so it is compact and I had to play around with how to best arrange contents. finding space for tall items is the challenge. it has a water filter and two other filters and all filters probably need to change every 6-months. i bought it for the freezer below since i did not like bending down to get into my old refrigerator any more. this feature I like very much but again in a 30 inch it is small.

An improvement in my opinion, would be to split this retractable shelf in two so as to also give the user more options for space. Also, it would be nice to have an audible alarm if the doors are left open.

I bought this as our LG refrigerator had a compressor that went out of it and could not be repaired. This Maytag model was the right height that I needed to fit in the refrigerator space in the kitchen. Even tho it had to be special ordered, it came a week ahead of schedule - so glad it did!

It has a lot of space and the slide-away shelf is a thoughtful addition for the times when I need extra space to put in a tall item. I also love that the ice maker is in the freezer so that it doesn't take away any extra space in the fridge compartment. The downside is the lighting. It is a blueish colour (LED?) and not very bright. When the top shelf is full, it becomes difficult to see the items near the back of the lower shelves. I would like to see a fridge that also has lights on the side walls so that every shelf is lit.

Slim down the Owners Manual!

However, the Owner's Manual provides information on so many refrigerator models that understanding which information is specific to our model is nearly impossible. It should be slimmed down and offer information on 2 or 3 models at the most.

Well built, attractive refrigerator

Took a while to get this item due to supply chain issues, but it's a very well-built refrigerator. Feels a little smaller on the inside than I expected but it's laid out beautifully. My ONLY complaint is that the shelves don't really accommodate taller items and the space in the doors is limited. But everyone probably has their own preferences on the layout and there is only so much you can do with a fridge of this size. Just taking a little time to figure out how to maximize the space.

Happy with the Fridge

We moved into a new house and had to quickly find a replacement fridge. Since the home warranty did not cover it, we were able to pick out something that fit our needs. That is exactly what this 30 in French Door Fridge has provided to us. Ample room for storing all of your food. The pull out freezer drawer is great with the ice tray full and ready to cool down the water from the door. I would highly recommend this model to anyone looking for a sleek and simple model.

We are very pleased with the Maytag french doors and freezer on the bottom. My wife loves it very much! A women thing! I really enjoy it too! I actually did the plumbing to hook up the ice maker and water dispensor. It was a bugger to get in the house. Thank God for 3ft. exterior doors. So far it is running excellent and for just a couple we have plenty of space. Over all we are very pleased. Of course we are hooked on Maytag products. Always have had good results.

The freezer at the bottom is spacious, and we prefer having this design with the freezer drawers on the bottom, and the french doors on the top. The deli drawer is nice and clear so we can see at a glance what we have. I like that the produce drawers are uneven sized, as we typically have twice as many vegetables as fruit. So this design is ideal for us.

More room than you think!

Purchased for a kitchen renovation where we have limited space, but the water and ice features haven't been hooked up yet - we're still in the process of fitting out the kitchen. It is replacing a Gallery that was too large for the space and it will coordinate better with the KitchenAid range that we've already purchased. The refrigerator section has plenty of storage room, and the doors open smoothly. The handles are easily graspable for those with limited mobility, and are the same style as the KA. Compared to the interior of the Gallery, the Maytag interior quality is several pay grades above, but the price difference is within reason. I think we'll really like this fridge.

Great for the two of us

We have had this for about three weeks and like it very much . The only thing is you have to watch is you have to make sure that you close the doors . The door on the left side can stay open and the door open lite does go out . We just make sure that we make Shut to shut the doors. No other problems

This replaces our 10 year old Maytag that is nearly identical in design. This version has the water dispenser and the control information on the outside of the door which makes it extremely convenient. The handles on both the doors and freezer is thinner and much easier to open/close. The LED lights are much brighter which makes viewing/selecting your items a cinch. Given the limited space that we have, this is an ideal size, design and functionality.

A Solidly Built Appliance

Overall, we are pleased with this refrigerator. It is obviously solidly built, and its configuration is exactly what we wanted—e.g., water dispenser (but no ice maker) on the door, very ample storage in the refrigerator itself, smudge-resistant stainless steel, etc. However, it seems to be particularly susceptible to humidity, causing water to collect on the bottom shelf of the fridge. We do to live in an especially humid climate, and this has not happened with previous refrigerators. While I understand that there is a setting to minimize this, it is also true that activating the setting increases energy consumption. It is bad enough that the fridge is not Energy Star-rate—which almost dissuaded us from making this purchase—and I am reluctant to use any setting that causes it to be more expensive to run. Overall, however, we are pleased with our purchase.

I bought this a month ago and am pretty pleased with my purchase. A couple items that were deterrents were: had to turn up refrigerator temp as milk on door seemed to sour too quickly, there appeared some moisture/icing on the freezer vent..and the biggest issue was that there were multiple places where plastic was hard to remove..like around handles on doors. There is some styrofoam type item in the refrigerator vent which did not seem to be cut correctly, but does not seem to effect performance, also was minor scraping of the white insides where the bins went in, but I’m not sure if that was from delivery folks.

Previously I had a side-by-side refrigerator. The freezer shelves were too narrow to hold a frozen pizza. So this new freezer on the bottom solves that problem easily. I really like the finish of my new refrigerator, the exterior water dispenser and the easily cleaned shelves. I had to figure out how to configure the position of the shelves and adjust to storing tall bottles in the doors. But it is all good now and I am so pleased that I chose this model.

Purchased under emergency situation

Our 5 year old LG, one week out of warrantee decided to quit. Parts were not available. Fortunately, a local dealer had a Maytag that fit our need. (No one else had anything in stock). It fit perfectly in our narrow area. Interior slightly smaller but organizable. Miss ice crusher. Operations a little noisier. Cools and freezes very well.

Nice unit, good value but broke after 4 months

But, we didn't see it before purchase, and guessed at how big it would be in our kitchen. We guessed wayyyy too small, and wish we'd purchased a larger Maytag. Thank you Maytag. Love our Refrigerator

We purchased for our Beach House and had a tight space to work with. The 30" wide unit has all the features of larger French door refrigerator but does as great job with the interior space. The water filter system delivers great tasting water that saves us the time and money of having to buy spring water as beach water systems provide water that is less desirable. The air filter and fresh food filters are great for keeping food fresh, the Freezer is very generous in size and the entire unit has unique systems for managing shelving and creating space. The unit is also extremely quiet. It complements our new Maytag gas range well and we look forward to years of enjoyment.

Almost exactly what I was looking to purchase

I just bought this because t can already say I love it. It has all the features I wanted. The only negative was I had wanted white but that wasn’t possible due to Covid. So I will slowly be changing my appliances to stainless steel finger print resistant. We deal with a independent dealer and I was upset that he first year I can not go to them if problem. Hopefully that won’t be an issue.

Don't buy French door - very little tall item room

I'll never buy a French door fridge again, especially this Maytag model I bought. I wanted adjustable shelves, but there's not enough room to adjust them to provide adequate space for taller items. I have a lot of regret in buying this. Also you HAVE to shut the left side door first if opening both doors, and same if wanting something on the left side, you must open BOTH DOORS. This is a stupid design. I regret being influenced to try a French door type fridge. It is my first and last. The only good thing is aside from that is that it looks nice from the outside.

Decent fridge but should be much better.

Raised plastic seams on shelving prevents containers from sitting flat. The big issue is that produce in the crisper and the back of the fridge freeze easily. We are losing a lot of food because of it. Also, the compressor failed barely a year and a half since we bought it and had to be replaced. Not expecting this from a Maytag.

I have had this 1 week and so far I am not impressed. It is cold and freezes , and it fits the small space I have. This is a replacement for a Kenmore Elite- French door. I have 3 main issues- after using the water dispenser , water drips for hours it is a slow drip. The storage space for tall containers is not adequate and awkward . And the appliance is just loud - the ice maker is loud the right French door close loudly and the function of the freezer ice shelve is loud.

About Hal the size would suffice. The way the door closes is a bit strange. Have to check that it is closed properly because of the difference between the left and right door seal. And when you open the freezer the large drawer always comes out weather you need access or not. Oh ya. Small problem. The top shelf is a bit low it won’t hold my box of wine. But I fixed it. Ok but with some flaws

I purchased this back in July and it was finally delivered mid October. My first impression is that the refrigerator compartment is a little small and there’s not much variation to get the shelves aligned to fit most household products. I wish the one shelf that has an adjustable flap to accommodate taller items wasn’t the whole shelf long. Also, I wish the other shelves were split instead of being a single shelf from left to right. The water dispenser needs to be a bit taller to accommodate taller glasses to fill and maybe a little deeper into the door. The water dispenser has a very strong flow, which is nice but comes out At a slight angle to the right. Seems to be chilling correctly and making ice at a slow pace but acceptable. The left-hand door for the refrigerator compartment is a little difficult to close when the right door is already closed and usually causes the right door to pop open slightly that is barely noticeable until the alarm goes off.

Adequate size for all our needs (only 2 of us). The drawbacks are: 1) that you can't open the doors independently. The right side must be opened first and left side closed first. 2) the middle shelf folds in to form a half shelf in order to store taller items. This really cuts down on space inside. Would be much more beneficial to have shelf split, so either side folds back rather than the whole shelf unit. Both of these are very annoying.

Broken Bins

I bought this less than a month ago. Certainly an upgrade over my old fridge. A few issues though. The left hand door - with the dispenser - won't stay open. It always wants to swing closed. Also, the adjustable shelf broke day two, due to the cheap plastic it's made from. That was frustrating. Overall it seems to work fine, however.

It looks nice and performs fairly well but there were too many issues for a brand new fridge. The freezer drawer wouldn’t close fully to engage the seal all around. The water dispenser drips enough to overspill down the front of the fridge after a few minutes. And the dispensed water isn’t cold. I was told you need to fill your first glass and dump it and your next one will be cold?? The fan and compressor is irritatingly loud. Much loader than my old 2006 Kenmore. I’m thinking now I should have just replaced the compressor in my old fridge. I bought it based on all the positive reviews. The service guy fixed the freezer drawer and ordered a new solonoid valve so I guess it’s going to be just OK.

Great Look from the outside Disappointed inside

Bought this refrigerator 8 weeks ago. It is very sleek looking on the outside and looks great in my kitchen. However, I was disappointed with the inside shelf configuration and drawers. The full shelf that converts to a half depth shelf didn't work well for us. Tall items have to sit in front of the 1/2 shelf and have to be moved all the time to get at items in the back. I previously had a split middle shelf, that was adjustable with a crank that worked much better. Also the vegetable/fruit bins do not stay on their track nor do they fit tight. Wanted a freezer on the bottom, but not really liking its interior design either. For the price we paid, I'd have expected better. So in summary, great looking on the outside, will look great in your kitchen, but really check out the interior, found it very disappointing for the price!

Ordered it without seeing how big the freezer and refigerator space was. A lot smaller and holds much less than my old side be side. Seems to run a lot too. Not sure if it's an energy star appliance or not. We will see how long it lasts. Oh and ice tray and maker doesn't hold much ice. No ice in the door either like my old side by side.

Terrible company buyer beware. Watch out for your door falling off and needing an entire new fridge as a result because they can only replace it maybe 3 months down the road. Thanks Maytag. Excellent craftsmanship.

Great looking but I do not recommend this model

This fridge has many great features but has had many issues with temperature regulation, so much ice built up, and the doors need to be closed with manual manipulation. I heard power outages can have something to do with it, but I cannot recommend this model.

Problems

We have had mostly Maytag appliances for 20 years and they have been great. We purchased this model refrigerator to replace our old Maytag. It has been a nightmare. It looks nice but after a year and 5 months it stopped cooling properly. While it was being repaired we had to purchase a small fridge to get by. Finally it looks like the compressor which will be an expensive repair. Problem is I don’t know if I even trust it now. Can’t believe a compressor would fail in just a little over a year.

Beautiful but poor construction

It looks beautiful and with great features but it is definitely cheaply made. Smaller drawer never closes all the way, there isn’t room in the back due to shape for it to fit. Large drawer falls off of the tracks daily. Our previous 20 year old Maytag was definitely built better

I always have drops of moisture In the frig. I was told that this frig wasnt made to have many items in it. I have to limit what I store. also, the ice maker doesn't make enough ice.

Ok, no digital temperature control. Also, no tech help with issues that are not in the booklet. Makes horrible sounds when the compressor kick it. And temp in the fridge is all different depending on how food is placed . I highly don’t recommend this item to as anyone.

I'm rather surprised at how much noise it makes. I can't help but notice how much louder it is than my other refrigerator. Also, there seems to be a lack of attention to detail when it was assembled as one door sits about 1/4" higher than the other. Between the noise and the poor assembly, it certainly doesn't do anything to instill confidence.

The first one delivered would not hold a good temp even when set on max! It came with cosmetic damages as well I had to return for a new one. The second one that came has two different colored light bulbs it’s like they used a different bulb or an old bulb to push it thru inspection and the ice maker is extremely loud compared to the first one. I thought spending this kind of $ and with a name rage like this I would get some kk d of quality and customer service was not easy to work with. I will be looking for another brand on my next purchase. I felt it necessary to purchase an extended warranty because of all the issues I’ve had with 2 of them direct out of the box not a good track record.

Broke twice!

Deli drawer rollers broke on both sides at different times. Freezer drawer doesn’t close completely every time so I have to constantly look for door closure. Ice maker drops cubes behind the drawer.

Run, don't walk, away from this piece of junk!

I'm a loyal Maytag customer, with my 32 year old dishwasher still going strong. But in those days, Maytag was Maytag, not Whirlpool. I purchased this fridge a little over a year ago to replace my 32 year old Amana. Since then, the first unit had to be replaced within a day....the digital display on the control panel was dead. The second unit worked well for 6-8 months, then began making a grinding noise intermittently. A damper had to be replaced, thankfully under warranty. Now, just 8 days beyond my 1 year warranty expiration, the water pump for dispenser and ice maker has stopped working. So disappointing - I love the features and layout of the fridge otherwise, but it is clearly an inferior product not made to last and my last Maytag/Whirlpool purchase. My advice - stay FAR away from it.

It's the worst fridge we've ever had. It has stopped cooling twice in less than one year of purchase. The first time, the compressor stopped working, and the second time, the gas leaked. After the second repair, the cooling noise has been very loud, and we can hear a disturbing clicking noise. Unfortunately, Maytag hasn't agreed to replace this faulty product yet. Every day, we're stressed our food doesn't spoil again...

Bought before holidays, hoping for a good experience… Old fridge still working after 20 years… thought it was time for an update.. big mistake.. it is so much louder than old fridge, does not make as much ice. It is very awkward as some drawers will not open unless two doors are open. Water filter was leaking, received no response from seller… I had to fix myself, and replace parts.

Very loud!

My new fridge just arrived today. It’s been running for about 12h and it is so loud.. I can hear it from my living room. Not happy with this as all I hear is a constant and loud hum while on the main floor. I do not recommend it and will be returning it this week if it does not improve. I hope not all maytags are this loud. Very irritating. Just sounds like a loud fan all day and all night.

Also, I didn’t realize the ice maker was taking so much room in my freezer. I wish I would have gotten a side-by-side with the water dispenser instead cause I use to own a GE in the past, even though it was a smaller size than this Maytag French door fridge it still had more room. The fridge was delivered but still needs adjusting because it is crooked and the fridge doors don’t line up. I will need to call them to fix it.
