Great little fridge!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

This is a great little fridge for a small area or a bar. Good capacity and look! The only thing is the top is not finished like the old ones were, but that's a minor issue if you are just putting something on top of or under a cupboard.

My new basement refrigerator

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I needed a small fridge in the basement, told extra soft drinks and beer, things that wouldn’t fit in my kitchen refrigerator. Your fridge is perfect! It’s compact and fits nicely in my basement and very convenient. I’m happy with that purchase.

Great Reliable Sturdy Mini-Fridge!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I love that this is a refrigerator only model. Its very spacious. The fridge was protected sufficiently in the packing box. The individual can holder is pretty nifty - I find that the ones that have a drop down sleeve versus the can holders tend to break more easily in my experience. I owned a previous iteration of this updated model and loved it as well.

Joe2180 · Mar 13, 2026

Nice small fridge for basement.

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

Overall very nice product. I found this after doing online reviews of small refrigerators. It is a bit smaller ( I was looking for 24 inches wide) than I wanted, but it had good reviews. It seems well constructed and after 16 hrs, it has reached the desired temperature. I think the interior shelf bracket spacing could be better to accommodate tall bottles but that is a minor issue in our situation.

Great little bar fridge!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I'm replacing a Danby fridge that must be 10 years old that has worked flawlessly and this fridge is almost exactly the same in style which I definitely like. It is all fridge storage which is what I wanted as the old one had the same feature. It's built well and now has a white interior which makes it easier to see as opposed to my old one which was black. Great little bar fridge.

Received In Excellent Condition And Looks Good

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Unit operates well and when first plugged in it reached the correct temperature within 1hr. There is plenty of room inside with moveable shelves to accommodate taller items. It is working well and like all purchases of whatever you buy out there only time will tell how this fridge demonstrates itself to be a well designed and well manufactured product. So far so good!

chocolatebob · Aug 8, 2025

Great for "overflow"

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

This review is based on recent purchase, not extended use experience. Unit is very nice for "overflow" food products when preparing for larger than average (for our household) meals and kitchen frig is full. We opted for 100% refrigerator, no small freezer compartment.

I was pleased to find a compact fridge without a tiny freezer compartment which often doesn’t freeze and doesn’t hold more than a popsicles! This model is much more practical and useful in holding extra food and drinks in addition to our main fridge.

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I purchased this unit because it is all fridge. This is to replace the previous unit which had a USELESS freezer which was TOO SMALL to be of any use. I liked the previous unit in the way it operated and gave me a little more space to keep things cool beyond my regular kitchen fridge.

Seems like a good fridge, could use more slots for adjusting shelf height. Could use 2nd half shelf so if you don't want to use 1/2 shelf against compressor bump you can use both as a full shelf.

Great Little Ice Box

Amazon · 5 out of 5 stars

I needed a small ice box to hold my hummingbird sugar water and to store feeders at night (racoons and their kids love to tilt and sip the sugar water dry if I do not take them in at night!) It is perfect for this, and also serves as overflow for small items in my main ice box. Only little gripe is that they have a rack designed for cans of soda or beer on half the inside of the door, which I do not use...have figured out how to adapt it to other containers. Keeps contents at desired temperature and more room inside than anticipated. Great little ice box for the money. It is a little noisy at times, which is not a problem in the location I put it, but noise may be objectionable in a dorm room or bedroom.

Awesome little fridge!

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

Great compact little unit that holds lots due to its design and no freezer compartment. Love the looks of unit and inside light is a great feature. Has a slight hum when running, not a disturbing sound for the family room but could be a issue if kept in a small bedroom. Unit came packaged well with no damage to packaging not the fridge. Very satisfied so far and would recommend this unit.

Papa Barry · Mar 20, 2024

Good mini refrigerator

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

I bought this mini Danby to replace my old one that finally stopped working after almost 8 years. I like everything about this mini refrigerator except for the annoying loud humming noise during cooling. My old Danby was fairly quiet. I can hear the noise from the other end of the house. I like the look and style, keeps my fruits/drinks cool and it fits nicely in my hallway. Temperature is good. I set it for 37 degree F. I would give 5* if the noise level can be turned down some.

Wonderful Bar Fridge

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

A wonderful bar fridge. The door conveniently hold many cans of beer and soft drinks as well as several bottles of wine; this still leaves loads of room in the body of the fridge for food and more drinks. The removable/adjustable shelves even leave enough room to defrost a good-sized turkey! It's working great, keeping items good and cold at the middle of the thermostat dial. Couldn't ask for more for the price.

Wonderful Refrigerator

Amazon · 5 out of 5 stars

This is a Wonderful Refrigerator!! So many great features. A family member has one also, and we're very happy with this choice. This is our second purchase of this fridge. Did a lot of research and read all the reviews on many models. Recommend this 'Danby Designer Mini-fridge' highly!! Note: Be Very Careful when unpacking the box... If I had to do it again I would very carefully cut off the top of the cardboard box. Underneath it, protecting the top of the fridge in shipment, is a Heavy piece of wood! I read another reviewer's warning. If you pull the box up in the air, off the fridge, that heavy piece of wood will move up, then slam back down and dent the refrigerator!! I tilted the box sideways as I lifted the box up. The wood did slam down, but luckily only a small dent. Check your fridge carefully after removing the box. It is possible that the box looks fine but the exterior of the fridge can still be dented in transit. Ours had 2 side dents. Called Amazon and was offered a 20% refund if we decided to keep it. Also, take the time to read the manual that comes in the box. It goes quickly. As much as you'll want to plug it in right away - Very important to let it sit upright after transport for the recommended 6 hours. This gives the freon a chance to settle properly. Otherwise it might not work. You can count the time if you received an official delivery notification. Was able to easily adjust the height for our older wide-plank wood floor. (See manual) It keeps everything nice and cold. Very Happy with this purchase!!

Mini Fridge

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

The first mini fridge I bought in April 2015 lasted about 4 months. It had a defect and the place I bought it exchanged it for another Danby in August. So far, this fridge is working fine. I hope that the first one was just a fluke but only time will tell. However, the company seems to stand behind their products, which is a good sign that in general their projects are reliable.

SOME CONCERNS

AJ Madison · 3 out of 5 stars

JUST PURCHASED A NEW ONE BECAUSE THE ONE PURCHASED 18 MONTHS AGO BEGAN LEAKING OIL ON THE BOTTOM OF THE REFRIGERATOR AND INSIDE OF IT. IT SAYS IT IS SELF DEFROSTING BUT THIS UNIT BEGAN ACCUMULATING ICE INSIDE ABOUT 9 MONTHS AFTER USAGE.

Nice Fridge but working with Danby to correct faulty thermostat

AJ Madison · 3 out of 5 stars

The fridge arrived with a small dent on the rear right bottom of the fridge. When running, the thermostat appears to be defective. The temperature of the fridge varies from 42 to 38 degrees maximum no matter how the thermostat is set. That is too high for perishable food. Danby is currently working with me to have it fixed.

Dan WY · Jul 6, 2024

Does not seem to get things really cold no matter where the temp. setting is set.

Butch · Dec 23, 2015

Coldest setting is WARM

AJ Madison · 1 out of 5 stars

Coldest temperature is still WARM. Using this fridge for food will lead to food-borne illness. It doesn't get cold enough. I even put ice inside to help it along but that just melted. I've had experience with 2 of these units in hotel rooms and they all sucked just the same. This is the perfect unit for those hotels who don't want you to be able to store food but offer it anyway although they really want you to pay expensive prices at restaurants. Now they can say that they offer you a refrigerator but in reality it's not cold enough to maintain anything at a safe temperature.

Zeal · Nov 18, 2023

Dents and Bent Metal

AJ Madison · 2 out of 5 stars

The unit arrived with no visible damage to the carton or packing material, but with a major dent on a top corner, bent metal parts on the bottom and the door fell off as we removed the carton because of a bent hinge. This is the sort of low quality manufacturing we expected of Chinese goods in the 1990’s, but we do not expect it in the 2020’s. Otherwise the unit appears functional, but we have not started it yet, allowing time for the refrigerant and compressor to settle after shipping.

bubba23093 · Apr 17, 2024

Not food safe

AJ Madison · 2 out of 5 stars

This small fridge is only good for storing things, like soda pop, that won't go bad if kept above 40 degrees for extended periods of time. Once the internal temperature reaches the set point, it stops cooling and waits until the internal temperature rises about 10 degrees before starting to cool again. (monitored over two days without opening the door) Since the fridge works by just cooling a plate at the back, the plate can actually freeze and freeze anything in contact with the plate. I'm a bit disappointed.
