Just love new fridge...never had a side by side before & definitely wanted one...didn't want ice maker & had to fit in a small spot in wall...found all these needs with this Whirlpool ❗️ Was definitely worth the search & wait...have had Kenmores in the past...& they lasted forever...not even sure they make anymore...but I'd still go with the Whirlpool....thanks for a great product ❗️

Its a huge improvement over the previous fridge- larger and much easier to find everything. I LOVE the side b side double doors. Some of the plastic seems very thin and I worry it may break over time.

Our new WHIRLPOOL 22 cu ft side-by-side refrigerator is everything we wanted and needed. In our limited space, this refrigerator is a perfect fit; and it looks really good in its location. We opted for the Automatic Ice Maker installed by the dealer because we did not want an in-door ice and water dispenser -- another reason we chose this model. In the month that we have owned this refrigerator, we have enjoyed the design, capacity, features, utility, low-noise operation, flexible layout, and we especially like the solid reputation of the WHIRLPOOL brand and the dealer we got it from.

Quite with No Frills

As USA made as I can find, machine runs quietly and sustains dialed temperatures. Basic model lacks “ coldcut” drawer and more modern “ european” lighting yet space is bright and well lit. I have a little trouble getting fridge side door to close completely in one gentle closing motion. Overall good value for price-point.

Great Upgrade from Our Old One

We like that this refrigerator is back lit, and we like that it is easy to see what is in the drawers. The shelves on the drawers are deep and spacious and allow plenty to be put in them. The freezer is a quick turn around on ice, and the ice cube trays are quick release. It is a really nice refrigerator!

Love a side by side!

I bought this black fridge because I needed a larger one and I didn’t want white or stainless. I would have preferred a flat black or textured black because the shiny finish on this fridge is very susceptible to scuffs and scratches and you can only use very specific cloth to clean w/out scuffing it😕. When it was delivered and they took off the protective film there was very visible damage to the finish in a few places😖. I’m waiting to see if they will replace the doors. It’s very unsightly and we aren’t happy. If for some reason they won’t replace the doors the store can take the fridge back and order something else for us… The fridge is very roomy and we love the double doors. It’s very disappointing that a new fridge came damaged under the protective film.

Smooth transition

Still transitioning, but happy with new fridge. Aside from the obvious and evident design elegance, it's been working smoothly and, as a brand new piece of equipment, like clockwork. Ample space, very well lighted and sturdy structure. Nevertheless, it should be noticed that included instructions do not really match the actual structure of the fridge, and some deductions were required to get it leveled. Also, as depicted in the attached photos, workmanship and detailed cleaning as it came out of the manufacturing shop, can be improved. Overall, at this point in time, if given the option, still will buy this model.

Perfect size, sleek design

I absolutely love my new fridge. The area in my kitchen is very narrow where the fridge goes, so I was worried about the fit. But my measurements were perfect. So many people I know have HUGE fancy elaborate refrigerators, but this size holds A LOT inside and looks bigger in person. Me and my 2 kids and it holds more than enough food. The shelves are nice and the lighting lets you see IT ALL, so no more icky goo rotting way in the back or food you can't see so then it goes bad. Love it! My daughter hugged it lol

So far a great refrigerator

I've only had this refrigerator a week, so these are my initial Impressions and what I've had to deal with so far. I have found that the shelving and space and how everything is laid out is really flexible and the pockets in the doors are nice and deep. The front of it cleans up really easy, I use the stainless steel wipe cloths that come in a canister. I've had to obviously adjust the temperature in both the refrigerator and the freezer side. Having the refrigerator set on the ideal setting as it's marked was freezing my vegetables so I said it one lower and it's at about 32° and it seems fine.

No ice, no water, no noise - just space!

Better storage and sleek shelving

I got this to replace a 31+ year old Whirlpool refrigerator with an almost identical newer model. Of course it fit in the space perfectly even with being a few inches deeper. I love the newer solid shelves so pop bottles don’t fall over. The door shelves are also deeper so there is more room. It was frustrating with how many stickers and how much tape that had to be removed. There is not quite the same flexibility with the cooling settings as it is in whole numbers with no half numbers in between. I wish I knew what times the freezer auto defrost was set to take place thinking this should be at night but happens during the day. But overall I am very pleased.

Great Side By Side Refrigerator

This is the first side by side refrigerator we ever purchased and we're very happy with it. The space we had for a new refrigerator was limited due to the configuration of the cabinets in our kitchen, and this model provides us with lots of useable space in both the freezer and refrigerator sections. And it looks great too!

Replaced a thirty plus year amana side by side with this one. This style fits our space the best. I probably could have rebuilt the Amana but decided for new technologies. So far this is much improved. Quieter than the old one and better lighting. And most importantly more space at least in the refrigerator side. Less space in the freezer but worth the compromise. We have a freezer or refrigerator unit as an overflow when needed. Overall this unit fits perfectly for our needs in the space we currently have.

overall a good refrigerator downsides: it intermittently hums moderately loudly and this fluctuates based on where I'm standing within a 3-4 foot radius around it (sometimes it is nicely quiet). would be nice to have more options for adjusting the shelf heights and the temperature ..... still trying to figure out how to keep the meat cold but not freeze the lettuce.

One of the only models that fits in my space. Love the side by side feature. Glass shelves with under shelf lighting is good idea. My last Whirlpool fridge ran for 27 years. My parents’ Whirlpools, bought in 1950 (so 75 years old) is still running strong and is my overflow, backup fridge. I’m sold on Whirlpools!

Excellent fridge, well laid out, seems to work well. The only things that give me pause are the plastic wall thickness of both the vegetable bins and the door bins. They are thin and slightly flexible, but made of rigid hard plastic. I'm just afraid they will break sometime within the first year or two.

The refrigerator arrived undamaged. I had to install ice maker and that went well based on installation instructions. Refrigerator seems to be working very well. The only reason I didn't give this 5 star rating is that when the refrigerator is running it is noisy. Otherwise I would have given a good rating.

We have all black appliances and had to special order this refrigerator. We don’t like a in the door water and ice maker because of the mess on our ceramic black flooring. We may seem old school but without an ice maker we have more freezer space which we need. We also had this same model at our previous house had had very good luck with it and absolutely no problems with it! Thanks Whirlpool for still manufacturing this model and color.

After much research on the types of black exteriors, I settled for this one. It is easy to wipe down to remove fingerprints, etc. The doors have deep, adjustable shelves which are handy. We like the fact that the interior light is on the top of the refrigerator rather than on the inside wall. The bulb is bright so that you can see everything at once. My only regret is that I couldn’t get a wider model like this one in a similar depth. Kudos to the local Whirlpool service team who came quickly to fix the improperly installed (Best Buy) ice maker.

A door handle was missing a small chrome piece at the top of the handle. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent a replacement handle. We like the refrigerator so far. We've had it about a month. I do wish the retailer would have leveled the refrigerator. We had to do it ourselves, but otherwise the unit itself is just want we wanted.

Hard to find but what i wanted

I was happy to be able to find a side by side with no ice maker that would fit in the smallish space that I have. It seems to run very quietly. I am still getting used to it. Set at the "ideal temp" for the refrigerator, some of my pop bottles do freeze. The biggest drawback for me so far is that the refrigerator door, if left open just a bit and unattended for a second, will swing wide open and hit the wall. I'm told there is no adjustment for that. (The freezer door stays where I put it.)

I've only had my refrigerator for a short time. It certainly keeps things cold and makes ice cubes pretty quickly. It does make more noise than my old one. The motor constantly surges while running, but it may be the way it's made.

This fridge is such an upgrade compared with my 20 year old. Well lit, well distributed temperature, large capacity compared with my old one, even though it uses the same amount of my skimpy floor space. Quite quiet, I'm glad to see the stainless steel is of the type that accepts magnets.

Considering interior and exterior design, this is an excellent refrigerator. But there are two features that I would rate “very poor.” First, the advertisement pictures adjustable feet that keep the refrigerator from sliding forward when you open the doors. This fridge arrived with no such adjustable feet, so it slides forward. Second, the door swings freely with no backstop to keep it from hitting the wall. Who would design a fridge like that?

I debated for awhile to buy a side by side refrigerator but finally did. The refrig I have was in perfect condition but had a bottom freezer which became so difficult for me at the age of 84 yrs. bending over and pulling out the drawer with all frozen food...was so heavy and hard for me to do. I am now so happy with my new Whirlpool side by side and wish I had purchased it a lot sooner. If you are considering this for any reason buy it and be as happy as I am. What a difference and so roomy to boot!!!

Our last fridge lasted only 5 yrs so spent more time shopping for a replacement. Once I decided on the smaller size & side by side style, this one fits our needs. Initially was startled by the motor noise, but that completely disappeared after a day. It's a deeper fridge, making up for the narrower size. I can see everything & bought a bin to pull out from the freezer to mimic the pull-out bin at the bottom. This fridge has plenty of space & side compartments, able to fit a gallon of milk & large turkey which the old one couldn't.

Like it better than we expected

Our fridge was delivered several weeks ago. I didn't think I would like a black fridge. But I really do like the way it works with dark cherry wood cabinets. The shelving is well spaced and it has a fruit and a vegetable drawer. I do however miss the deli, meat and cheese drawer. I am using one of the spacious in door shelves for lunch meat and cheese and it seems to be good. Our new fridge however has a noticeable hum while running. We were hoping it was due to being a new system that had never been run it would quiet as it was broke in. But not quieter yet.

We have only had our new side-by-side refrigerator for about a month, but we are happy with it and find it is as advertised. We like the deep door shelves, bright lights in fridge and freezer and magnetic exterior. Happy to have found a model that does not have an in-door water/ice dispenser and option to not have an ice maker - thus giving us extra room in the freezer section. The only real complaint is not having more options for shelf heights and the inconvenience of the shelves not going all the way to the back of the fridge.

I bought this same refrigerator again because I liked the previous model. I only replaced the original refrigerator because of the life of the appliance. I was happy this model was still available. I do miss the utility drawer that fit on one of the upper shelves as I used that drawer for small items such as cheese, sliced meats etc.

We bought this to replace a 15 year old GE French door refrigerator that was very noisy and had a water dispenser and ice maker that we didn't use. This side by side is much quieter and doesn't have the extras that we don't need. The freezer side is much easier to find items compared to the bottom drawer of the old GE, which is great. My only complaint is there is no controls for the fruit and vegetable drawers and no cheese/ snack drawer, which is a great option to have. I've invested in some refrigerator organizers which will help keep things ready to take out for meal prep and snacks. All in all, we are happy with the new fridge.

Plastic that protects the doors is not easy to get off fully, it 's stuck between the top , bottom and side molding of the fridge. Interior of the fridge had a few dirty drat he's from manufacture. Whirlpool uses cheap spray foam to insulate. Fridge seems to run long. Freezer door wobbles. What I did like; deep shelves, a light 9n top and bottom of the fridge. The fridge is nothing special but it'll get the job done.

We were happy to be able to get a side-by-side again. Hated the 'french door' box it replaced. Only issue is we miss the third drawer (small one for cold cuts, cheese, etc). We'll make do with tupperware containers or something. Box is very quiet (but seems to run a lot).

We’ve had the new refrigerator less than two weeks, in that short time it’s been a welcome addition to our kitchen. It has dispelled reviews I read about workmanship quality (it’s handsome and well put together) noisy motor (it’s quiet when running, unnoticeable) so far it’s been great. Freezer freezes and refrigerator cools. The interior is bright and everything that we had in our old refrigerator fits just fine. Hopefully you’ll come back next year and ask me for another review.

Overall, I love this fridge, but there are a couple of things that could be better. While the metal wire shelves in the freezer are good for cold air circulation, the spacing between the wires is a little too wide, so some items can literally fall through. My biggest complaint is that it does not have a deli drawer. While the deeper bins at the bottom are good for produce, a separate shallower drawer is crucial for fresh meats, which, no matter how well packaged, frequently can ooze liquid. Consequently, having a deli drawer makes it easier to keep the interior of the refrigerator clean. If it had been offered as an add-on to my original purchase I would have happily bought it. Now I'm going to have to find one as a separate after market purchase that may not fit well. My previous Whirlpool had a deli drawer, and it's a really poor design decision to now not include one.

I Do Like the Refrigerator

The refrigerator is very nice, just what I wanted. Now if I could get instructions for use of the casters it sits on I would like it a LOT more. A means to make it stop rolling forward every time I open the doors would be nice. A way to level it properly so that the doors don't slam open when you'd like to reach inside, that would be great. Better information on what I can use to clean the stainless steel front would be super, as soap and water as instructed in the manual doesn't help at all. Speaking of the manual, I wish it did not show an easily removable panel in front of leveling feet that aren't there when the panel is held in place with screws and there are no leveling feet. Other than that I like the refrigerator. It maintains an ideal temperature in both the storage and freezer areas. Good interior lighting makes it easy to see what you've got and where it is.

I was a bit annoyed that this slightly smaller 22cu was MORE expensive than the identical 25cu, but pleased this model was available and happy I purchased one without the freezer space-sucking ice maker/water dispenser. The only take away is the stainless steel finger marks are already annoying me, but functionally the fridge is great. I'm not sure it will last as long as the 1986 GE it replaced but we can hope.

Small size, mitigated by adding plastic bins

Lacks features of larger models. Smaller size necessary due to our small condo kitchen. Freezer shelves work out great compared to the alternative bin freezer models especially after adding plastic bins to each shelf to make access much easier. Refrigerator is small, but adding bins on each shelf helps. In both cases bins allow “reaching” way back to be as easy as pulling out the bin. Good choice for those forced to limit width to 33 inches.

Love the fridge. It’s about 4 inches shorter than my previous one and the freezer is about 1 inch to narrow for my ice tray to fit but these are things I can get use to. I love the fact that magnets stick to it my previous fridge was a true stainless steel and magnets wouldn’t stick. My only concern is the streaks on the front and I can’t get rid of them. It also scratches easily.

We bought this to replace the “French Door” refrigerator that was in the house when we bought it. The side by side makes organizing the freezer section so much easier.

Happy with a couple minor issues

I bought this a few weeks ago. It was delivered with a big scratch on the bottom front, but the seller is getting me a new door...look forward to that coming. Next I chose not to get a ice maker or a water dispenser opting for the extra room inside, so I would really love another wire shelf in my freezer and it is next to IMPOSSIBLE to get one on-line. Oh, they have them but smaller than the size I need. I do know Whirlpool will not be making these in the future without ice and water...that stinks for people like myself that do not want those features in a side by side refrigerator.

Nice design, light in the freezer was good. I had a GE with no light in the freezer. What a pain. Needed an extra door bin (there was space for one). I bought an extra as an OEM. There is still room for milk and tall items. Looks like they were trying to cheap out on that. Did not get a door dispenser as it takes up too much freezer space and is another thing to break.

This is our second Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator. The first one was still working after 27 years, but we decided to get a new one and keep the old one in the basement for extra capacity. The new one has great lighting in both sides, and large see through plastic bins in the doors that make it easy to find items. The noise level is the same as our old refrigerator, and may not be as quiet as some people would like, but we are used to it. It rolls easily for positioning and cleaning behind, and the doors seal efficiently. We did not want any accessories like water or ice in the door, just a basic, dependable, long lasting refrigerator, which is what Whirlpool delivers.

This is the only company that offers no ice no water on a side by side and Whirlpool I thank you for this specifically. It's exactly what I wanted so there was no other option to consider. I don't understand why you didn't design the shelves to hit the back wall. Why would your engineers intentionally create empty space on each shelf so that anything can fall down? That part wasn't thought out very well. Another problem is that many items in the fridge will freeze even tho it's on the suggested setting. That's also poor engineering.

Disappointed - Nothing like Kitchen Aid Version

I had the Kitchen Aid 22 cu. ft. version of this Side-by-Side Refrigerator for 15 years and it was great. Unfortunately when it was time for a new one, the Kitchen Aid 22 cu. ft. Side-By-Side was no longer available. I purchased the Whirlpool version and am very disappointed. The things missing from the Whirlpool version that I had in the Kitchen Aid version are as follows: (1) two less freezer shelves; I had to purchase two additional shelves for the Whirlpool; (2) no Deli Drawer and nothing to retrofit; I have to use a Tupperware container for my deli items (see photo); (3) less shelf adjustment slots on the refrigerator side of the Whirlpool; (4) no humidity adjustments for the Meat Drawer for use with vegetables as on the Kitchen Aid; only has humidity adjustments on the fruit drawer; (5) the hinges of the Whirlpool are not enclosed; there are open nooks and crannies all around the hinges and frames that will collect dust (see photo); all the hinges and frames were sealed on the Kitchen Aid; (6) the front grill has to be unscrewed for cleaning the coils (a nuisance); the Kitchen Aid grill snapped on and off. All in all, this Whirlpool version of the 22 cu. ft. Side-By-Side is a huge disappointment. I am limited to a refrigerator that fits in a 35" x 67.5" opening and the Whirlpool 22 cu. ft. Side-By-Side was the only available option. I did not want a top freezer model and would have purchased the Kitchen Aid version of the 22 cu. in. Side-By-Side had it been available. The refinements in the Kitchen Aid version are sadly missing in this Whirlpool version.

Not cold enough!

I bought this refrigerator in July and it never cooled down enough to keep food cold. Stayed in the range of 40 to 43°. Because we live in a small town I had to find my own repair man and pay them to fix it which I was reimbursed by Visa gift cards. The refrigerator now runs at 40° on the coldest temperature. I would never buy this type of refrigerator again.

Hot to the touch

Purchased this product since it seems to be the only 33" wide side-by side without ice maker on the door unit on the market. Disappointed in a number of ways when compared to the 35 year old Whirlpool side-by-side this unit replaced. General design seems to have taken several steps backwards: 1. Limited height adjustments for shelves in main part of refrigerator section resulting in waste space. 2. For a larger refrigerator some genius made the crisper drawers substantially smaller. 3. For a larger box size, the freezer section is deeper but narrower, making it difficult to retrieve items from the back. 4. Who thought putting interior lights in the BACK of the compartments was a good idea? 5. No separate cold controls for refrigerator and freezer compartments. Control increments in steps, not infinitely variable. 6. Advertising says door hinges are hidden. Yes, from the front, but not when viewed from the side (since the unit is deeper than the kitchen cabinets). And the front roller feet look like some sort of after-thought Mickey-Moused add-on. 7. Extra door and freezer shelves outrageously priced compared to perfectly similar units from other sources.

Works great but has cosmetic issues

Worked fine but the clear coat on the 2 doors did not match, the freezer door was like glass & the refrigerator door seemed like it had no clear coat. The seller replaced the unit with a new one, which also works well so far. The new unit doors do not match either, except this unit fridge side is smooth & the freezer side less so. I kept it because it's not as far off a match as the first one but it's not an even match. I didn't want to go through the inconvenience again. Unfortunately, you can't tell until it's installed and the final step of removing the shrink wrap covering is done . I think the quality control of the clear coat finishing could use improvement

Problems with keeping food cold enough, twice!

I bought this refrigerator in July, and the refrigerator part didn't keep cold enough to keep our food from spoiling. The freezer worked fine. We resorted to freezing blocks of ice in the freezer, and moving them to the refrigerator section (using it as an ice box) for a month, while we waited for a replacement refrigerator. The replacement came and while it works much better than the first one, we need to set the refrigerator thermometer to the coldest setting to keep the temperature in the 'safe' range. We are waiting to see if Whirlpool can repair the 2nd refrigerator so that we can set the thermometer to the 'ideal' setting. Other than that, we like the refrigerator and hope that Whirlpool can repair it.

Complaint and disappointment

We bought a white refrigerator a side by side and it does not have an icemaker. So we ordered 2 different ice makers that supposedly we would be able to use with this refrigerator and every time the delivery personnel came they could not put it in. There were 3 different delivery personnel that attempted to put it in. We even called whirlpool and they had no solution to our problem and did not even seem like they cared to help us. The disappointment is that whirlpool should be able to provide this service or at least provide some training for accomplishing this task. So we are manually making ice cubes and feel we will never be able to have an ice maker in our freezer

Making it work!

This refrigerator was purchased recently. The dimensions of this refrigerator were the closest to fitting in the kitchen space. I find this Whirlpool refrigerator too bulky and awkward. The inside door compartments easily fall out when holding the door from swinging open abruptly. I have to remind myself to hold the door itself when opening to avoid the abrupt swing of its hinge. Will have to see if this problem can be corrected by adjusting the hinge bolt. I wish that Whirlpool had the dimensions of their refrigerator stock to accommodate the dimensions of my kitchen space. As it is now, this refrigerator protrudes beyond the kitchen counter enough that it reduces the walking space in my kitchen. It maybe a minor problem, but it is none the less an inconvenience. Otherwise, the interior of this model is adequate and the temperature controls are convenient and within reach. The light bulb locations on both sides are too recessed to reach without stretching beyond arm's reach. Otherwise, I am happy to have a working refrigerator back in my kitchen.

Not Great but Serviceable

We looked and looked and it was just about the only one that would fit in our space. We had to get it. It didn't have a small draw and I didn't know how much I used it until it wasn't there. It dozen have feet. It sets on rollers and when you open the door it rolls right out of its place. I have looked for info on the net to see if any thing could be done to fix the rolling problem with no luck.

I like it but wish the doors didn't swing open so forcefully. I thought maybe the frig was unbalanced but the tech said that that is how the doors are made. I just feel like every time I get in the refrigerator side, especially, since it is a larger door, that I have to hold onto the door while I remove my items as I don't like it opening all the way so forcefully. Seems like it would wear out the door's mechanism on the top sooner. Also, the wheels on this refrigerator/freezer travel backward and forward too easily so the technician put some kind of tape on my floor to stop the wheels from moving forward so easily. He said he didn't know if that would keep it from "traveling" but that was all he could think of to stop it from coming forward when I opened the doors. It did not travel forward each time it was opened but more than I would have liked. Also, it's a smaller unit, only 33 inches wide, and the cold air in the freezer section comes through vents right in back of where you might put some frozen foods. My model does not have an ice maker or water filter. The freezer portion on this model is on the smaller side, and I have to keep the prepared meals a couple inches away from those vents along its back wall so as not to over freeze the meals, which also even applies to other shelves in the freezer, cutting down on the limited space.

No levelling feet! This fridge rolls every time.

This fridge (despite the manual saying there are levelling feet) has no leveling feet, which I think is a safety issue. Every time we open and close the doors, the fridge will pull towards or away from us. If we push it in, it goes against the wall where it's plugged it. It could do damage over time to the socket plug. Waste of time scheduling an appointment for the tech to come to say, there looks to be a spot for feet, but the model comes with none, so he recommends a piece of wood. Firstly I recommend Whirlpool come with a kit to fix this problem as there is a spot for the feet to be installed. Also, make it aware to customers that the wheels don't come off the ground and there are not feet (don't have a false manual saying there are feet). A seven year old can pull the fridge with one hand when it's full. The fridge does keep things cool but can be loud. Overall, not many fridges fit my space so I am stuck with this one.

I bought the refrigerator in November after having no refrigerator for a while over thanksgiving, and so far my new two door Whirlpool refrigerator is working fine. I did have to purchase a shelf a frame and a meat or snack drawer in order to make it usable for my family and that was a real hassle. I spent more money than I should have but the job is finally done. The drawer does not fit exactly right but it's livable and it will stay. Hopefully this will be the last refrigerator I have to purchase for quite a while. They certainly have gotten more expensive than they used to be.

Generally Happy with Purchase

We have only had this refrigerator for a few weeks, but so far it works great. It is pretty roomy and not as noisy as some other reviewers have indicated. It needs more shelves in the freezer, however, and I am unhappy that Whirlpool doesn't offer a way to order more. There are slots where I can add them! Also, the outside finish seems finicky. The fingerprint resistant stainless steel is not consistent -- there are some mysterious dark spots along the edges that we can't remove.

Some good, some not so good

Refrigerator is as advertised however it lakes a meat compartment and the shelves are glass but none pull out or roll out for convenience. I like the deeper shelving on the refrigerator door but the shelving seems somewhat fragile and I'm not certain how they will hold up over time. The shelves on the freezer door are skimpy and have too much space on the bottom for food to fall out. I adore the fact that I do not have to have an ice maker or that it takes up space.

It has two good crisper drawers but no cheese drawer, even as an add-on. This is appalling! So I got some free-standing refrigerator bins but I'm not real happy about that solution.

Getting used to it

Having a 1920's kitchen, I needed a refrigerator that would fit in a small, constrained space. This was it. I am getting used to it as it is so very different from my precious refrigerator. I am not wild about bins at the very bottom of the unit. In the past I had 2 veg bins. This has only one and then a second apparently for tings like deli items. We always have lots of veggies, so the bin is a little cramped.

Bought this side by side to replace a 30 yr old side by side by another brand. Old refrigerator worked but was afraid it would break down. The space for the refrigerator is constricted in height. This was the only model I could find at the right height w/o a water and ice dispenser which I did not want. The refrigerator is smaller but it's adequate. I would have paid more for a higher end model but it was almost impossible to find one at the right height and w/o ice/water. the plastic bins are cheap. It would be nice if there were holders for ice cube trays so they don't take up so much room in the freezer. It's a refrigerator, and it's adquate.

Apparently not built to last

Stopped working at 25 months. Wanted a simple appliance; no water or ice. This one was fine. Inside space didn't seem to be maximized, but not a big deal. Never had trouble until one day it got loud and then quit... We wanted basic, but not at the cost of repairing/replacing in a couple of years.

Helicopter in our great room

We have had our new refrigerator for 4 days. It’s sounds like we have a helicopter getting reading for takeoff in our kitchen/great room. You cannot hold conversations at the kitchen island, and the fridge can be heard across 2 floors and 2400 sq.feet. The unit is quiet for 2.5 hours a day. The white plastic door shelves have very sharp edges. You can cut yourself while wiping them out. The freezer needs on more shelf. There are 2 areas 11 and 16 inches high. These are awkward to store anymore than a few items on unless they are boxes only that can be stacked. The clear glass shelves and drawers do provide better visibility than our old Whirlpool fridge that was basically the same model. Unfortunately, that 33 yo unit was much quieter and sturdier. After decades of by Whirlpool, we’re done. The noise is beyond disappointing.

whirlpool refrigerator vegetable drawer broken

less than a month after purchasing this refrigerator the vegetable drawer on the second shelf from the bottom broke. the plastic runner under the right side of the shelf broke. it was only held up by a small molded portion of the runner assembly which slipped into the glass shelf above it. the runner assembly was not fastened to the inside wall of the frig. the left side runner did have a screw to help the runner unit stay secured. i don't know why the right side was designed without that feature. very stupid...chintzy and unacceptable.

While putting things in freezer, a package fell to the bottom by the bottom basket. The freezer bottom shattered. This is unacceptable as I haven’t even had it one month. it should not have done that that easily. Please contact me, so that I may get this resolved.

NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!

I purchased this over a month ago due to my fridge leaking all over my kitchen hardwood flooring. I was in a horrible accident and returned home wheelchair bound and a week after coming home this happened. I searched around for a fridge that would fit my cabinet opening (which was not standard) and had to purchase a smaller sized fridge. I also knew that I did not want the bottom freezer any longer because it was a pain. I thought this fridge was perfect for me and went with a referred appliance shop. They told me it would take 3wks to come in!! It ended up being a MONTH before it got to me. It has blemishes on the inside fridge panel that I thought was glue but, is small holes and circular scuffs. I also have a chip on the side that is visible and it makes noise. Also, NO middle draw for cold cuts and cheese. Nothing that I hoped for and what I thought I purchased. I'm extremely disappointed in the product (being so well known) and company that sold it to me.

Don't Purchase

Do not waste your money. We purchased this model through a small appliance store and had to order online. In a bind because our fridge suddenly stopped working. I thought this product would be more of a matte black as pictured, and for the price be of much higher quality. The black model is super shiny and looks cheap. A paper towel will scratch the surface. It came with scratch lines you could see immediately, does not clean up well, and will drive you absolutely crazy. A non-scratch sponge scratches it, paper towels scratch it, looking at it will scratch it. Is not worth the headache.

I have had this refrigerator for a week and a half and am not happy with it at all. Neither the refrigerator nor freezer mainatains the proper temperature - the refrgierator tends to be too cold and the freezer too warm in spite of trying to adjust the temperature settings. Also, it seems to run for a very long time - an hour + when I've noticed.

We regret buying this refrigerator. Whirlpool denies there is an issue with the door and says it is our house being uneven. After reading other reviews though people are saying the same thing. The door swings open so forcefully that it damaged our kitchen cabinet.

Very, very unhappy with the Whirlpool Refrigerator. The fans or motors are very loud and annoying. The shelves in the freezer section are open at the bottom so small items fall through and on to the floor. Only two shelves in the freezer section are just plain cheap. I am so very sorry I bought this fridge and would not recommend it to anyone.

Only positive is the black color with textured sides which fits my kitchen beautifully. This refrigerator has a very LOUD motor with a sometimes "chinking" sound until I hit the side. It replaces the Whirlpool installed in Dec that was defective with mainly an inconsistent temperature problem, causing frost in freezer, condensation in refrigerator, and much more. This one has only two bins in refrigerator, no humidity control. Refrigerator door swings too far open and hits my cabinet. All complaints of other buyers I now see in reviews online.

Not the Greatest Look Around

Rear lights make the inside dark. Lights should be in front and pointed down. Same for freezer, back light gets covered by food items, dark freezer, bring a head lamp. No cheese drawer no egg tray. The shelves do not go all the way back, so things can fall behind them, who came up with this. If you pack your fridge do not buy this model, best for persons that keep 10 items in fridge. Cooling is good and freezer is capable. Cold air is pulled from one location in the freezer to the fridge part, if partially blocked it will frost up. Should have a better cold distribution system. My old Kenmore had better space. The Koreans make better thought out appliances.

Low-end refrigerator, basic, few if any features.

I purchase this refrigerator a month ago. It seemed it was the only one that would fit in my cabinet opening. When it was delivered and taken out of the crate, I pin was missing from one of the wheels, so an order for one needed to be made, but the refrigerator still functioned. I knew this refrigerator was not like the one it was replacing, but it lacked so many feature that really I felt like I settled for a downgrade. The ice maker was optional. It has no temperature monitor that shows the exact temperatures inside. I bought an electronic one and found the temperature swings in both refrigerator and freezer were extremely wide. There was room for 5 shelves in the refrigerator, but only four came with it. The old refrigerator door closed itself, this one swings open and stays there, not a good feature, if it can be called a feature at all. Basically, a little disappointed, but it will do.

Doors not level and refrigerator not leveled when installed. Refrigerator rolls easily and refrigerator door opens quickly. Advised Plesser's through an email and was sent an instruction sheet to fix it myself. I called Plesser's, where I bought it, and left word for the salesman to call me, haven't heard back. Not thrilled with Whirlpool or Plesser's at this point

Poor service

Bought refrigerator 06/11/24. Appliance was delivered without a working ice machine and no handles. Whirlpool warehouse shipped one handle and it was installed on 06/21/24. It is 07/02/24 and I have an a refrigerator still with one handle. refrigerator is nice, service from whirlpool is horrible.

Could be a lot better

This model was about the only one that would fit in my space, so I really didn't have much choice. I don't like the fact that it does not have adjustable shelves in the main part of the fridge and freezer. And I would have preferred a fingerprint-resistant front. The finish that's on it smudges at the least little touch. It will be high-maintenance, and I don't like that at all. But it is what it is. I just have to suck it up and move on.

Refrigerator delivered 4/25 and hasn't been cooling or freezing adequately. Awaiting replacement which has created many challenges and inconveniences. Emotional stress and financial stress due to inability of storing required food and drinks. Expected delivery of 6/4 is difficult.

It's Okay - Wheels, Doors, and Vents Disappoint

The wheels don't stay stationary so the frig/freezer easily travels forward when you open the doors. The doors don't stay stationary when you open them. They swing rapidly either to the right or left which makes it seem like the top hinges will wear out quickly. The vents that bring in the cold air in the freezer and right behind your frozen foods on a couple of the shelves, so you lose a little space, which is already limited, because you don't want that frigid air blowing directly on your frozen food. I didn't have too many frig/freezer choices since this was a 33" width. I even chose this one that does not have an ice maker or water filter and the space is very small. So far, it is keeping the frig/freezer at the proper temperatures. The inside lights are nice and bright.

Disappointing experience.

New fridge was delivered on Saturday; after 24 hours of waiting, both fridge and freezer sides were not very cold... unplugged and plugged back again to restart. Now, the bottom 2 shelves of the freezer are super cold, upper half is not. Bottom shelf of fridge will freeze, shelf above is around 30 degrees, and everything above is over 40.... either got a dud, or terrible circulation. WE called for service on Monday, and the next available appt is for NEXT Thursday, the 8th. :( Really disappointed Whirlpool... :( IF this isn't fixed, will definitely go with another brand.

Very Noisy

This is a very noisy refrigerator. It sounds the like the microwave oven is running. Other than that it works fine and looks nice. It did take more than a day to cool down to an acceptable temperature upon turning it on for the first time which was very inconvenient since we had no place to put our perishable food.

Doesn't get ice cream hard

This unit does NOT get below around -2 (according to my thermometer) in the freezer so the ice cream is always soft. I have to put ice blocks in the freezer around the cartons of ice cream to get it sort of hard. I had a factory tech come out and he said it was running to speck (around -5 in the freezer and 31 in the fridge side). I am very unhappy with this unit and will not buy anything by Whirlpool again EVER!!!!! PS-we had a 30 year old Whirlpool that got to -10 in the freezer and worked wonderfully... We never should have got rid of it!!!!!

Do not buy, cannot maintain temp, cheaply made

This review covers both the original I bought and the replacement. Worst fridge I have ever purchased. The first was delivered with a bad compressor and would not get lower than 50°F. The delivery crew blamed each other as much as they also blamed Whirlpool for using a faulty compressor. Got a replacement after A LOT of arguing on the phone and being given the run-around, despite being both in Whirlpool warranty and 48 hour warranty from where I ordered it from. Received the second fridge and this one can barely maintain temperature in the 40°Fs, which is still too high. Almost every morning I will wake up and the temperature in the fridge will be above 45°F, despite no one opening it during the night. Please note that it is at maximum cold temperature - that doesn't help at all. Not only that, but it must be so cheaply made - closing the door to either the fridge or the freezer makes something inside rattle loudly [and we do not slam the door at all]. Do not buy this fridge. It is a miserable, headache-inducing experience. I am not looking forward to eventually having to contact the company to try and get help again about the fridge temperature issue or why it makes such awful rattling noises. DO NOT BUY.

Not sure if I'd buy another

Fridge side only cooling to 40+ degrees

Have tried all settings described in manual but no change. Have called for Svc and tech is due 9/6/23. Am totally disappointed with this product. DOES NOT SEEM TO COOL!

I bought this in February 2023, had delivery scheduled in March 2023, only to be informed delivery was rescheduled to April 2023 when I was already scheduled to be absent for a month long trip; fortunately a friend was able to accept the delivery during my absence. Upon returning home, I noticed the motor almost continually running! I called Whirlpool only to be informed "some models are built that way" and mine was one of them! If I had known this fact, I would have reconsidered my purchase of this model. Having now had this refrigerator a couple months, I have noticed that the 'recommended' setting for cooling is sub-par, my fluids are not cold like all my other refrigerators cooled nicely (Kenmore). Furthermore, my ice cream is not solid in the freezer; it scoops out of the container like it's almost room temperature butter! I also notice that my ice cubes in the storage box appear shiny like it might have nearly started to melt only to freeze again. I am very disappointed with the performance of this refrigerator.

Worst appliance purchase ever

I had to go with a 33" refrigerator, hard to find and even more difficult in black. I received my refrigerator today. The hinges not only are NOT hidden, but are SILVER metal on the top and PLASTIC on the bottom! They are hideous! The front is very scratched - why not use the textured finish on the front as well as the sides? It LOOKS CHEAP, both inside and out and it was NOT cheap. I wasted a great deal of money! My kitchen has only had Whirlpool appliances in close to 40 years. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Doesn't work

Whirpool offered an incentive to us to replace a faulty refrigerator and we chose this model. We waited two months for delivery (A total of four months without a refridgerator), and the fridge has stopped working 4 months after we received it. This seems to be common with their side by sides, and particularly with this model. I wish we had been able to get a replacement that lasted longer than 4 months. We have contacted Whirlpool for service and are now waiting 2 weeks before a tech can even come take a look. We really just want a credit for the retail value so we can go purchase a working product, but they claim they can't offer anything until a tech comes out to diagnose the issue. DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL, AMANA, MAYTAG OR KITCHEN AID PRODUCT unless you enjoy living in stone age.

SWINGING DOOR
