Modern Looking With Good Features

I got this refrigerator about a month ago for a bar I am putting in my basement. The size and features have worked out great. So far, so good with this GE refrigerator.

Nice but small freezer

I was little bit disappointed by the small freezer but overall the fridge is very nice, I need to use the ice maker tray now as my previous fridge from 1984 had bigger freezer capacity

We specifically asked to look at GE refrigerators from previous experience with GE products. We especially like the depth of shelves in the doors and the ability to adjust the arrangement of the shelves to accommodate larger bottles! The unit is much more energy efficient than the Whirlpool it replaced. "MADE IN THE USA" was a priority as well!

We love the style and capacity of this refrigerator. There is plenty of space for fresh food and enough freezer room for the two of us. Having an easy to change water filter inside is a big plus. The in the door water dispenser and ice maker work great. The LED lights in the top and freezer bottom really light up the refrigerator. Plenty of storage space on the shelf’s.

It took me a while to figure out where to store my items in the refrigerator. My last refrigerator had a very large door and I could fit most everything in the door such as condiments. That is not the case with this refrigerator. What we love about it is the icemaker which works terrific and the indoor water dispenser

Loud but met size requirement

Been using the refrigerator for a little over 3 months. We purchased mainly because of the size with the hope of good investment going with GE brand. One incident of the light not working, however remediated when closed and reopening a couple times. The freezer did have one odd over freezing moment? Question mark because it was like snow in the freezer. Definitely provides less storage than our old fridge. I do want to echo over reviews that I’ve read before purchase and this fridge truly is so much louder than any other fridges I’ve used in my entire life. There is constantly a whirring noise. Wish the water outlet was available outside the fridge, as oppose to having to hold the door open if you want cold water. But we didn’t buy it for that aspect so not too big of a hindrance. Overall happy with the purchase so far.

We definately upgraded when our very old refridgerator died! Its the perfect size to fit in our kitchen, the shelving and drawers are definately going to make finding stuff in the fridge much easier than the old one! I am sure that once we get used to it we will be able to utilize it to full capacity. Its Energy useage will definately be less than our old one!

We love the french door, lower freezer design. It looks great in stainless and the counter depth meshes nicely in the kitchen. The freezer space is limited, but we knew that when we purchased and it is enough for us (2 adults). The refrigerator space is terrific and with the french doors everything is easy to access on the shelves and doors. We thought we might miss the benefit of an ice dispenser in the door, but actually like the tray better. The water dispenser inside the door works out fine for us. We're not in the room / adjacent space all the time, but it seems to operate very quietly too. We've had it now for about 6-8 months, and we love it!

We are thrilled with our new GE refrigerator! We moved into our house with a Samsung refrigerator already in place and we didn’t realize what we were missing until we got our new GE installed today. The lighting and storage space are great. The water dispenser is so useful and I’m glad to kick our water filter pitcher to the curb. We’re in an older home and there are only two of us and it works great for how we stock our fridge.

Sleek modern refrigerator! Our home didn’t have a large space for refrigerator but this fridge did not disappoint it’s so beautiful and modern and it actually has a lot of shelving space and drawers inside. We didn’t have a big footprint in the kitchen so I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find something that met all my needs! Water dispenser, French doors, bottom drawer freezer and ice maker. This fridge has met All those expectations. It keeps everything nice and cool !

Love the look of the water spout inside as well as the icemaker in the drawer. Love the organization of shelves and bins. Also it looks beautiful in my white kitchen with my gold accessories.

This fridge is a good size and a great temperature. Our old fridge had issues with cooling (the back was too cold!) but this fridge has very even cooling throughout. It is a perfect size, counter depth makes sure we can navigate our smaller kitchen with ease. The freezer is a good size and the sliding drawer does not feel flimsy. The shelves are a good size and easily adjustable if needed. We are very happy with our purchase!

We remodeled a small kitchen and needed a counter depth fridge. 36” wide was too big so we went with a 33 and love it. It has a surprising amount of space inside. We opted out of a water dispenser on the outside for a clean look, and it isn’t that much of a hassle to keep a pitcher of water inside. No regrets!

Love my new refrigerator, the shelves adjust beautifully; better than any other refrigerator I’ve ever owned. The ice maker provides plenty of ice. The only issue I have is that the crisper isn’t big enough to hold a bunch of celery and the only way to put a half gallon of ice cream in the freezer is to put it on its side. Other than that it easily holds all the food I need to store.

Love the new GE, love the bright inside, shelf configuration and fantastic stainless steel finish. The con is the lower freezer, seems to be rather small, I've had to re think the way I shops, after really looking at it there is alot of lost space, and when you pull the drawer out it's seems cheaply made. Hope it last.

A Very Nice Fridge

Really love the layout of this refrigerator. The lights inside are bright and it the digital interface for temperature is easy to use. This is the first fridge we have had where we hooked up the freezer ice machine, and so far that is been great. The water spout in the fridge is neat, but takes a very dedicated and constant press of the button to get water. Not sure how I feel about opening the fridge to get water when the kitchen faucet is right behind me. The drawers and bins are thoughtfully placed and have excellent storage sizes, however, the veggy/fruit drawers are very basic and I wouldn't say they have the nicest slide to the overall fit and finish. We will see how they hold up over time. The freezer has a bit of a wobble when it is opened as well (same as the concern of the fit and finish of the fridge drawers). I was very weary of getting a stainless appliance; we have always had white to match our cupboards. That said we took the plunge with our stove and so we decided to also try it out with the fridge. The fridge has really tied the stove into the kitchen and honestly matches our grey countertops far better than I had anticipated. We'll see how bad the smudges of fingertips end up over time! This is not a GE Profile appliance so given the price range, I think it's a good step up from a more basic refrigerator. It's undoubtedly a huge improvement over the last French door fridge I had!

My Apologies

Installed July 2024 and already have a cooling issue with refrigeration section! My apologies. The above needs to be revised because the problem turned out to be operator error. The "Open Door" alarm had been disarmed. The service tech could see that one or more doors had been left open causing the damper door in the freezer to freeze not allowing air to reach the refrigerator section. The "Open Door" alarm would have prevented this had it not been disarmed.

Four stars for an almost perfect design

We are very happy with our new GE counter-depth French door refrigerator. It fits nicely in the space we have. We love the double door design with the freezer drawer below. The reason for only four stars is the freezer drawer feels rather shaky when being pulled out or pushed in. Unlike another brand's French door refrigerator that we have in our primary home that has a solid glide feel, this one wobbles like it is on a single track in the middle rather than a proper drawer mechanism with a slide on both sides.

The capacity seems so small with so much room on the doors but not on the shelves. The freezer is a joke with only a tiny shelf and 2 bins that are small and too deep to find what's on the bottom! On the plus side it is BRIGHT inside and you can readily see what's there.

Bought this GE Refrigerator/freezer just before Thanksgiving when our 20+ year GE refrigerator clunked out. Since our kitchen has a smaller space for a refrig -- this one exactly fit in that space! However, it is smaller than most but the interior space is arranged to make maximum use of the space so everything that was in my older but larger model fits in here nicely! I do miss my butter holder in the door tho as I have that and the cheese products in the bottom drawer but have to open both doors and pull out drawer to get at butter! Will maybe find another location for it that is more handy. . . . I appreciate NOT having the ice/water in the door--seemed like that was the first thing to "break" on my old refrig. It's handy to have ice maker just in the freezer and the ice it makes seems really hard! Also, the little waterspout in the refrig is handy to have but since the hose is small -- it takes a bit for it to fill up a glass of water. Overall -- this is a great appliance for it's size with many features that cost much more on an more expensive model!

This refrigerator/freezer combo is amazing. Only thing is I wish there was more freezer room. Temperature is amazing and have had no issues with it not being cool enough. It is a great size for our new home. Fits well in the allotted space for it. Speaking of space, the shelving is great for storage and makes enough room for my family. Great energy source and will scream at you if you keep any of the doors open. Definitely love the fact that the water source is inside of the fridge vice the front.

I love the overall layout of the refrigerator. It's very well insulated. The ice maker is situated so the ice doesn't fall down the back of the freezer compartment. Oddly, it doesn't have the same capacity of my old refrigerator with the same external dimension. My refrigerator repairman, who declared my last frig deceased, gave me a list of appliance brands from best to do not buy, And GE is the top brand for longevity.

A very nice looking and functioning refrigerator freezer combination. This is the counter depth model because it fits the best in my small kitchen area. I really appreciate the LED lights within it. They light up the entire interior for easy visual needs. It is also very quiet running.

The capacity is small but I am only one person. The unit fits the space and I enjoy having filtered water within the frig. It cools well and seems to be energy efficient so far...only have it for one month. If I had any issue with this unit it is the less then sturdy shelving and draws. The plastic thickness is less the desirable. However it does the job and fits the bill.

I had a hard time finding a refrigerator to fit my small kitchen. This one is perfect. I took one shelf out and I have all the room I need. Very fast cooling and freezing. Very quick at making ice cubes. The water on the inside is hard to maneuver. For someone with arthritis it will be hard to use. The hose thing needs to be a little longer and it is hard to push the rectangle thing. It is a little noisy when it is running, I got used to it tho. I do love it tho, it’s just what I needed.

Love the counter depth size. Looks like a built in. The French door style looks very modern, and you are able to open one side at a time. Only downside is the bottom freezer is very small. You would never be able to fit a frozen pizza.

we had this a few months and love it. the lighting is great in both refrigerator/freezer. It runs quiet. It keeps the right temps. the icemaker works quickly and easy to turn on and off. it compliments my other appliances. The door spaces are very big and holds a lot of items. The shelf on top you can fold in and make it a half shelf is very nice feature. would definitely recommend! GE is a name we trust.

The good and the not as good

Storage compartments are ample, especially in the door compartments. Glass interior shelves are a nice feature and would be better with more height adjustability. Freezer compartment is well laid out, but the space is small, especially for a family. The overall build quality is OK, but not as good as my previous GE fridge. Fridge and freezer hold temperatures well -- so far. I've had this fridge for less than 6 months. Ask me again in 5 years

Nice looking exterior design. I appreciate the inside the fridge water dispenser, just wish the "spigot" was about a half inch longer. The ice maker produces plenty of ice but as previous reviews have stated, there is some water "spillage" which freezes around the tray making for frequent clean up.

Great fridge if you’re like me and don’t need a huge or fancy fridge. Family of two and the fridge has to fit kitchen cabinets— two reasons for not needing or wanting a huge fridge. The interior water dispenser and interior filter are nice upgrades from the previous one. The ice maker works very fast! The shelves are adjustable, which is probably fairly standard these days. Everything works well and it’s a good looking appliance.

I feel 37 degrees for the fridge is too cold as recommended by the manufacturer. I do not care for the internal water dispenser. It is awkward to use and I feel you use more electricity by having the door opened as you fill your glass with water. It is a very weak stream of water as well.

I like the sturdiness of the shelving. And it's great to have a shelf that folds back. For a smaller fridge, it has a lot of room in the cooling department. I was not aware of how small the freezer was until after we got it home. And the ice bin makes a bit of a crashing noise when its opened in a routine way. Overall, I like it and it was the only one that would fit into our small space. It looks nice.

My new GE 18.6 cu. Ft. Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator is a handsome addition to my kitchen. Everything is working well so far, and I am enjoying how quiet it runs and convenient it is to all functions including inside the door cold water and of course the ice maker. The freezer compartment in deep and will provide plenty of room for all my frozen goods needs. The adjustable shelves inside the fridge unit is not only convenient, but will be easy cleaning as well. I love the number of shelves on each door totally 6 large storage shelves and 2 bottom shelves. The doors are easy to open and close and I love the temperature display at the top of the fridge unit. My entire experience from purchase to use so far, has been excellent and I would confidently recommend this refrigerator as an excellent product.

We have an odd sized alcove and wanted a refrigerator with filtered water and ice maker - this is just about the only appliance that fits all criteria. All round it seems very good. Negatives are the water dispenser is awkward to access and small bottom shelves in the doors are concealed by the larger main shelves above. It would be better if the lowest were full depth and positioned to take the tallest items.

This is an excellent space-saving refrigerator is perfect for our old house with narrow doorways and a small kitchen. I was worried that it would not be big enough, but is has lots of storage space to accommodate our 3 person family. The bright lights assist in seeing everything that is inside. It's quiet and spacious!! Not super fond of the water dispenser being on the left side of the interior. I'm right handed so I tend to want to push the button with my right hand and hold the glass in my left. To do so, I need to open up both doors. It's very modern, looks high end and I love the interior light as well. I'm very happy with it and would suggest this to all my friends! The freezer space is limited though, but adequate.

Love the design and it fits in my small space. I 'm not crazy about the freezer. The top tray sticks and the lower drawer is divided into two sections, which I think is unnecessary since it's so small to begin with. You wouldn't even be able to fit a small pizza there. Also, my doors are slightly off, so they don't line up as they should.

The only thing is the noises. Love the spot for 1/2 gal milk carton. Hums along for most part but then does kind of a sigh noise and sometimes there is a higher frequency hum that is annoying,

This fridge does everything we need it do do without all the xtra mehcniacl and electronic doodads which add complexity and increased potential for things to break! The icemaker is fast and the water filter makes even Florida water palatable. We love the flexibility of the shelfing system and that it is super quiet too.

We had a rocky start with the freezer not sealing completely and condensation on the front, but service was quick to repair these issues and the GE recommended fixes seem to have worked. Other than that, the space is great. For a small fridge, it seems very roomy. The freezer is small, but we knew that.

Best counter depth fridge I've found for the space I have (33" width). I've shopped twice for a kitchen refrigerator and bought the same one both times. This one has the best features for me; a full width deli drawer, two crisper bins, a split retractable shelf and interior cold water dispenser. My garage fridge quit so I moved my black kitchen refrigerator to the garage and bought a stainless steel for the kitchen.

I'm not real happy with it. But it's my own stupidly. We knew it was smaller than our old one but wow. Also this one has the ice inside so that takes up even more space. And to get ice or water you have to stand or bend over with the door open. Our other one had everything in the door. I guess we should have went with that. So far over all its good I guess.

Many customer complaints, as well as us, of flimsy drawers and door shelves--thin plastic, and bind when closing if you don't lift and push them straight in. Breaks easily, hard to replace drawers, if available at all. Prior refrigerators were better built, thicker sliding drawers and shelves, with better quality sliders would make a big difference. As others have also said, freezer drawers have minimal access to add or remove items. Other functions are working properly.

It's a good product the outer size, but the inside seems smaller shelves and no room to put items, as well keeps freezing all my vegetables. Change temperature, still same. Calling manufacturer to help solve it. Maybe defect, dont know yet. We've had other GE for long time and pleased. This particular one is a problem.

Love the depth of the fridge’s door storage, though the canned beverage holders are so hidden we didn’t even notice they were there for weeks. The fridge in general is nice. But the freezer is remarkably small, and has frequent ice accumulation on the bottom. We removed the ice maker for space and are considering a separate deep freeze. Checking with mfg and seller’s warranty to see if they can address the frosting and pooling water on the bottom… because there is no way to turn off the freezer / defrost!

Water access is difficult to access.

The interior water access is very "challenging" to use. I must first open both doors to get to the water outlet spout since it takes 2 hands to obtain the water. Then I must hold the glass in place with 1 hand & then push firmly to get the water to run with the other hand. The position challenges my knowledge of use of good body mechanics since it is necessary to be scrunched toward the inner left side in the frig to obtain my water. My previous refrig had a one-handed water delivery system. - I put the glass in place on a ledge & pushed it gently into the "deliver water" place.

I have had to have 2 parts repaired on this product already! The freezer capacity is extremely small and the drawers are plastic and cheaply made. It takes about 2 minutes to fill a glass with water using the inside water dispenser. I do like all of the door shelves in the refrigerator. The ice maker works very well. I had to purchase a counter depth to fit in the space.

It works just fine so far. The drawers are pretty cheap and don’t slide smoothly. The door shelf adjustment options leaves too little space above or below depending on how you place them. I’m not a fan of the water dispenser on the inside of the fridge. But looks nice and works - so good enough for what it is.

It's a refrigerator. It does what you expect from a smallish refrigerator, nothing more. I guess the "you get what you pay for" rule applies. The internal water dispenser is very difficult to access. Ice tray is much too large for this size refrigerator. It takes up too much freezer space. Overall, the unit has a very plasticy feel, so I am feeling that things are going to break after a year. or so. I would not buy again.

Currently we are waiting on GE to determine if they are going to replace the compressor or exchange or unitnfor a new one. It is noisy with light tapping sounds and an intermittent high pitched squeak. Not what we expected, but we are counting GE to stand by their product.

This is a smaller refrigerator which I have no issues with. It works great and the shelves easily move to whatever configuration you desire. The cons are that is is noisy - lots of humming, which seemed to quiet down after a few days but maybe I just got used to it. The other issue I have is that the freezer drawer seems cheap and feels like it’s going to break every time I use it. It seems wobbly in there and doesn’t slide well. It is definitely installed correctly. I actually have the exact same refrigerator in our camp trailer and it’s the same except that one seems more quiet. I would buy a GE again.

This refrigerator looks great and the layout is decent. The two doors is good for my smaller kitchen since the swing to open isn't as wide. However, mine has a vibration that is annoying and intermittent. Have tried everything! I understand this sort of noise is not uncommon in newer less-than-premium models and very few top-of-the-line come in this size. The space seems limited and barely enough for a single person. I can't imagine a family being happy with this. My old fashioned refrigerator made little noise and held an entire Thanksgiving dinner plus whatever guests brought. This one buzzes and feels like dorm room size. Looks great though and refrigerates and freezes well ... I didn't hook up the ice maker so no comment on that.

This fridge works well, but it is a little noisy. I am not sure if it is the ice/water dispensing mechanisms or if it is the cooling motor. It cycles on more often than other refrigerator models that I have owned. As for the design and functionality, it is great. It fits perfectly in a smaller kitchen and is quite stylish.

The refrigerator has great features like the filtered water spout inside the door that doesn’t call attention to itself of the good ice maker. We like the double side by side doors on top and the freezer below, but the relentlessly loud vibration noises are maddening! I’ve never heard anything like it. It’s truly awful- hopefully it can be corrected or our nearly new GE fridge will be tossed out.

The size of this freezer is a joke. I've had other counter depth refrigerator/ freezers and had never had this little space. On top of the lack of space, every time I open the freezer drawer the top shelf falls off the rail. Both freezer shelves are only half size and don't pull out all the way. Ridiculous.

Broken after 3 Years

We bought our fridge November 2022 and it is no longer working. Even before this, there were parts of plastic inside that became easily damaged. It would also freeze our food in the the refrigerated section. It’s not even four years old. This has been the worst appliance purchase we have ever made. I really wanted to love it. It fit our space beautifully and the lights lit everything up. So disappointed.

Water dispenser is hard to reach while holding a cup and the button is difficult to press. The interior shelves and drawers are cheaply made. The unit fan is very noisy. Overall, I am very disappointed. We have always owned GE appliances and have generally been happy. If it were not for the hefty restocking fee from the appliance retailer, I would return the unit.

This is a nice looking refrigerator but I would return it if I could. It makes a constant loud buzzing noise that is very annoying. The design has significantly less usable storage space than my traditional top freezer model, especially in the freezer. My 28 year old refrigerator had much more usable space and was so much quieter. Very disappointed.

Beautifull overall EXTERIOR appearance; interior refrigerator shelving cannot be adjusted to accommodate a standard one (1) gallon plastic jug except by collapsing one shelf in ONE location; freezer compartment would be useful WITHOUT interior sliding bin which is a waste of what would otherwise be a still insufficient storage space

Terrible refrigerator

This product is terrible. I haven’t even had it two years and it’s no longer cooling the refrigerator compartment. And the bottom drawer frost up around the sides. It was a waste of money.

I am not very happy with my new refrigerator, the water dispenser doesn't work and my food and veggies are frozen solid in the fridge. Nothing else to say but I've had it with this refrigerator

Very loud. You would always be reminded because of the noise it makes. The design of the shelving is made for someone who does NOT cook. You must only buy small cabbages as regular size ones won’t fit the vegetable compartment.

Failed master control board

My unit is 5 years old and lightly used. All sorts of problems with temperature control uniformity, frost, condensation. After two service calls, i have to replace the main control board and the parts supply store indicated they sell A LOT of the master control boards on this unit. Would not buy another one.

Not worth to buy

Bought this model two weeks ago. The first week was fine but after that, the fridge area not cooling at all. I called a repair man. He said a motor to move the fan was completed rocked up. he ordered a new parts and coming back in one week. At the same night, the entire machine not working at all. We run to get a mini freezer for emergency. I can't believe a brand new appliance got broken with a month.

Constant trouble with product. So disappointed I’ve had three appliance repairman come out to try to fix the refrigerator from freezing in the refrigerator and the freezer with ice. No one can seem to figure out what’s wrong with it. Is there anybody else there that can possibly fix this refrigerator for me?

Just OK Refrigerator With a Very Small Freezer

I wanted to love this refrigerator, but I would return it if I could. We purchased a suite of GE Profile, but I couldn't get a Profile Refrigerator to fit into our 34" spot, so went with the GE Line. Quality is poor, drawers don't open nicely. And the freezer is the smallest freezer I've ever seen. Like using a camping cooler. There is plenty of room in the refrigerator, but the freezer is just not adequate.

Not a family fridge

This fridge is quite loud compared to our previous fridge of a different brand. We constantly hear it running, even from the next room. The water feature is very weak. It takes at least a minute to fill a water bottle. In addition it wastes a lot of energy since you are standing with the door open in order to use it. The capacity is a little small for a family of 4 that is used to cooking every meal.

This product has less capacity than expected, for the price I expected a larger freezer. The freezer door opens up only a few inches, making it hard to put large items inside. Overall poor capacity

I can't use the top shelf of this refrigerator because if anything is in front of the cooling vents on that top shelf the whole refrigerator freezes everything. I lost a lot of dairy products and produce because it all froze. Some things recovered but lettuce, celery, sour cream, ricotta cheese, etc were ruined. What a waste of space. I called the seller & he told me that I should not have anything in front of the vents. I really dislike this appliance. Shelves & drawers are cheap plastic & it does not hold nearly as much as my old refrigerator, which was 2" narrower.

Terrible design for freezer drawer and ice bin.

-The freezer drawer for the ice bin is clunky and does not pull out with ease. It feels like it is off track. I went back to the store to see if there was something I was missing. But no, that is how this model is made. -Also the freezer drawer does not open wide enough to take the ice bin out. -I would give this a 5 star rating if not for this poor freezer design. -Such a shame the GE quality does not shine in this product.

This refrigerator is was installed Oct 17, 2023. As of May 27, 2025 no water can into the refrigerator to make ice. there have been 3 service visits and everything was done to check the water lines, filter replaced and a switch replaced. Nothing fixed it. One of the servicemen stated he had similar experiences with this same model. No water...no ice.

Extremely small freezer

Freezer is EXTREMELY small and when you open the bottom freezer, the top tray just slides out covering the bottom freezer. Not good quality. No Owners Manual to figure out how to change temperature settings, etc. You have to download the manual from the website, not hard copies.

A horrible refrigerator

This is a terrible product. A total lemon. Purchased in Sept. 2023, we have had 5 service calls on the original 1 year warranty, and 3 on the retailer’s extended warranty. Numerous parts replaced. Freezer frosts over, refrigerator won’t cool, water won’t dispense. GE wouldn’t replace. Will never buy another GE appliance. won’t dispense.

The doors do not close properly and they beep constantly to inform you they are not properly closed. I guess the suction is not that great. It also freezes everything even though I have the factory recommended settings. The freezer capacity is much smaller than I thought.

While this fridge/freezer is fully functional and looks nice, I do not love it. For one thing, it seems tiny. Like hard to fit celery in the vegetable drawer tiny. Barely fits an egg carton deep. The bulk of the storage seems to be in the doors. The ice bin tray sticks, so pulling the freezer tray out is risky, the ice cubes overflow, and the unit is loud. The doors are not smooth to open, and the inside drawer that holds drinks is the full width- so you have to open both doors to access it. We are going to keep it, just due to the hassle of returning it, and because we need a smaller size fridge for our space. There are not a lot of smaller units out there. So maybe two stars is too harsh, but I would not recommend this product. The ice water thing is on the inside, in an awkward place, and you have to hold glass with one hand and push the button with the other, it's kind of a poorly designed feature. I was excited about it, but now I see how impractical it is to hold the fridge door open for long enough to actually fill the glass with this. I do like the oblong shape of the ice cubes it makes, easily fit into most of our water bottles.
