We waited a bit for this built-in fridge that was added during our kitchen remodel. I’m so glad we did. It was worth the wait! This fridge is beautiful and has so much more space than our previous french door bottom freezer GE model (which I also loved, btw).

I just installed the refrigerator last weekend and an very happy with the performance. It's very clean and sleek inside. I love the charcoal filter inside. Lots of storage on the door. My only complaint is the vegetable drawers are a bit shallow. Overall very pleased with the fridge and the price

Came from a loved forty year old SubZero. Love the refrig section, but really do not like the freezer drawer. The supurb ergonomics of the refrig are sorely missing in the freezer.

I purchased this model refrigerator over 12 years ago and it has been problem-free. The temperature distribution is even in the main shelves and crispers. I am now looking for one for a new home and this is my first choice.

Great look in our kitchen

We replaced our 20 year old Kitchenaid built-in with cabinet panels on the doors. We were skeptical about the new look but the stainless steel fits in well and looks great. Some minor issues: no butter compartment in the door, only bins so it's hard to get the butter dish in and out; previous model showed current temperature in refrigerator and freezer when you opened the door, this model only shows temperature SETTINGS when you press a button.

Can't go wrong with KitchenAid!!

This refrigerator is so nice it fit into our space like a glove. Ice maker makes ice so fast I don't think I'll ever need the feature that makes ice quicker. I didn't think I was going to like the platinum interior but I really do like it!! Softer than stark white! Doors and drawers all fit and open/close smoothly. Plenty of room... So far so good! I'm so glad I didn't go with a SZ ...KitchenAid all the way!!

Has some interesting features

We are very pleased with our new KitchenAid refrigerator. The inside color and lighting are very nice. We replaced a SubZero refrigerator that lasted 30 years. I prefer the SubZero but we chose the KitchenAid because it was less expensive and also because we liked it. The brushed stainless steel finish is very nice and compliments other appliances in the kitchen. I was nervous about that because our other refrigerator had a wood front to match our cabinets. My husband thinks the door closure is too strong...but maybe it's a safety feature. We're just getting used to it. I find it does not hold as much as the SubZero and I was very surprised about that since it is the same size. The shelves are adjustable as were the shelves in the SubZero and we find that very helpful for sometimes having to store some things of unusual size. The drawers are not as deep and do not hold nearly as much. We miss the egg storage feature in the SubZero and found it much better than the egg storage feature we have now. Overall, we are pleased.

Spacious refrigerator

After several months of wait, we finally got the refrigerator. Initially, the ice maker didn’t work. Technician had to come few days later in order to check. They were in plans to replace ice maker, but, somehow, it started making ice. Works well. Overall, it was worth the wait. Easy to clean.

The refrigerator seems well built and everything works. Lots of flexibility in terms of shelving. It is very quiet which is a big plus. Even when the compressors are on it is virtually silent. Ice-maker is a bit loud but productive. No idea about durability yet as it is a week old. The only complaint is there is no way to adjust when the interior lights go on. The door needs to be completely open before you can see inside. It would be nice if there was a setting for that. 5K cheaper than a Sub-Zero which is also a big plus.

The only issue I have with this refrigerator is that nearly 1/3 of the freezer space is taken up by the ice maker thus minimizing the storage area. It is a nice looking refrigerator without having to pay the price for a Sub Zero.

New to Kitchen Aid

So I've bought Bosch, I bought Viking. This is a whole nother league of quality. I am so impressed at the level of engineering that has gone into this poduct. The fact that the ice tray is enclosed so there is no noise when the ice is dispensed. No noise when the ice maker calls for water. Matter of fact this fridge makes no noise at all...ever. The incrediblly precise leveling adjustments. I know its expensive but it is fact its a bargain in the built-in segement.

Our 22 year old Kitchenaid refrigerator finally passed so we went to Howard’s appliance for a new one. The same model refrigerator but definitely a upgrade runs and works better. Only problem was Howard’s time table was two weeks but KitchenAid was back ordered on our model so we had to wait over a month till they built us one. Howard’s was kind enough to say they will credit us $100.00 for a free dinner but we are now waiting for that otherwise the refrigerator works great going on one week..

OK refrigerator but the ice maker is junk. Slower than molasses making ice even with max ice selected. Any time you have more than two people over you better buy ice from the store. Never buy a KA again.

Expensive and cheaply built

Bought it to replace a similar model that was going south. I was shocked at how expensive it was, apparently just because it was a “built-in” model versus stand alone. It also appears to be built far more cheaply than the 9 year old one it replaced, which was solid and sturdy.

Mediocre Design Reduces Storage Capacity

I bought this refrigerator to replace a 24 year old SubZero refrigerator that was on its last legs. The interior layout of the KitchenAid refrigerator is quite poor compared to a comparable SubZero model. This holds true in both the refrigerator and the freezer drawers. As a result, the storage capacity of the KitchenAid refrigerator is substantially less than that of a comparable SubZero refrigerator. Very disappointed.

I want the older version back

I had this refrigerator for over 15 years and loved it. But it finally died and I needed a new one. I ordered the same one. This one looks a bit cheaply made. And the ice machine need a major redesign. The ice keeps coming to the point that when you open bin ice falls back to bottom of freezer. There isn’t an off switch that is conveniently located. I had service come out thinking something was wrong. Service guy came out and said it was a design error. I have to take bin out, reach back and flip up lever. It is located way back and your hand can’t reach it when bin is in freezer. Very strange. Very disappointing. I wish I could have kept the old version.

Good but long backlog and poor drawer design

I bought the refrigerator in July and it took almost a month to get delivered due to backorder. Overall, I'm happy with the refrigerator. My only real complaint is the drawers don't fit well. It's almost like the installed the wrong drawers... there is a lot of slop and they feel like they don't fit in the slides. If you aren't careful when pulling them out, they will fall out of the refrigerator.

Very disappointing

I bought this refrigerator to replace my 30 yr old Subzero. Both are 36" wide. I emptied my old subzero out and then tried to put everything I had in it into my new KitchenAid. Not even close. Far less storage in both the refrigerator and the freezer. Every thing is plastic; veggie bins are very small. No egg holder trays. The glass shelving is very lightweight. The freezer is pathetic; has worthless partitions that make organizing a challenge. Ice making capability is terrible. While it is an attractive refrigerator, it is NOT for someone who entertains a lot and needs storage. If it had more shelves that would be helpful that the compartments in the door are a joke. Too much wasted space on having individuals compartments rather than continuous ones.

Number two at best because of the size

I bought this unit because of the same size as my previous KitchenAid, supposedly the same model. The exterior dimensions are exactly the same and fit into my built-in cabinetry fine. However the interior of this refrigerator/freezer is smaller than the previous one. The shelf design on the door is extremely poor and causes bottles and everything to rattle on the door opens or closes. Get sold as a 20.9 ft.³ unit but it is not. If I could have seen this unit on the floor of a sales location prior to purchasing it I would not have.

I bought this refrigerator in August/delivered August 19, 2024. Two days later, there is frost build up on the freezer door and there was frost build up around the icemaker drawer. This has continued since installation to this date 11/25/24. The frost has to be removed on two- or three-day intervals to prevent excessive built-up. The end result, the freezer drawer seems never to be properly seal. The icemaker has built-up frost to the point /have to be turned off and not able to be used. THIS SHOULD NOT BE! VERY UNHAPPY. Too much money spent for this to happen. I REALLY REGRETT BUYING THIS KITCHEN AID REFIGERATOR.

Worst Fridge ever

Worst purchase ever. After a year, the ice maker broke and the lights in freezer went out. The filters have to be changed every other month, and two years later all of the LED lights have gone out in the fridge so I have no working lights. Terrible fridge for the cost.

Least favorite KA

This is the 3rd KA refrigerator I have owned and this is my least favorite model. I much prefer the french door models, especially the wood trim interior I last owned. The drawers and door on this fridge are terrible. The door swings closed forcefully that the deli drawer has to be opened to hold the main door open in order to load groceries or clean the interior. The produce drawers are not level and bump in to each other when opening and closing. I’ve tried to remedy these issues as well as the home builder and nothing could be found.the freezer is incredibly small and nothing is adjustable. When the fridge was installed the on/off switch was left halfway between the two positions. I found this only after messages about the temperature, assumed the freezer had been left ajar, then came home to the fridge off completely.

Terrible freezer lighting

I bought this refrigerator May 2023 and of course never looked at the lighting in the freezer as it wasn't plugged in. It's absolutely terrible. The lights are in the back of the freezer and on top so and you can't see any of the food package names when you pull out the freezer drawer due to no light IN the drawer. It is a terrible design. I would not recommend this KitchenAid freezer on the bottom refrigerator. It's too expensive to have such a bad design.

So we are on our replacement and now have the same issues as before...lights are failing and the icemaker arm has broken several times. Cannot believe this...after spending 9000 on a refrigerator that has issues like this is just not acceptable...looking forward to speaking directly with customer service.

Poor craftmanship

The refrigerator works well but the quality of craftmanship is very poor. Sharp edges on freezer door and corner seams that don't match up. We are awaiting our second round of doors to hopefully get ones that are better made. For the price tag, the poor quality was extremely disappointing and surprising. We were told, "this is just how KitchenAid builds them now". Wish we were told that before our purchase.
