36" GE Fridge

I spent a lot of time finding a fridge that had usable space inside. This fridge is huge inside, family members and friends that come over can't believe how much space is inside. The interior water feature is good but lets the cold out and drips inside the fridge. This resulted in me adding a filter tap on the kitchen sink. The ice maker actually works well and far better than any indoor units I've had in the past. Great fridge so far!!!

Refrigerator has PLENTY of storage for both compartments and took no time to get up to temp and holds it steadily. Had a Samsung Bespoke before this one that failed after 3 years. So far this one surpasses the Samsung from day one

We bought this product because of GE's reputation of building quality refrigerators. It's only been 3 days and so far we are enjoying it. We hope to get a least a decade of use but that may be asking too much. We shall see.

I love GE Products especially My Refrigerator but the Handle since ownership has been suspect. I tried to use TLC when opening the freezer but sometimes you have to give it a good yank to do so and because of that I finally came off. So be careful

Only had it a week but we are glad to have a working refrigerator again. Everything is working fine so far. The motor is a bit louder than I hoped but it seems to hold the cold well so it's rarely on. I was shocked at how light the unit was. We replaced a 40 year old GE and it was built like a tank ! But so far we are happy with it.

This is a great fridge with one MAJOR FLAW. The water dispenser requires two hands. Instead of pressing your glass against an activation button, and filling your glass with one hand, you have to hold your glass under a tiny straw dispenser, that leaves little room for thicker edged glasses or pitchers, and then press the button with your other hand. This is the dumbest idea ever, obviously designed by someone who does not use the water feature regularly. Otherwise a great product. Lots of room, good lighting, smudge-proof door. But the water feature is a fail!

Looks really nice, great size and storage space. Sometimes it’s a little loud, but nothing is perfect. We had a Samsung Fridge that only lasted 7 1/2 years, we are hoping this GE Fridge will last us longer than that.

Pros: Overall look is great. Easy to clean. Plenty of space. Cools well. Cons: The proximity sensor on the freezer drawer could be more sensitive. It can be open enough for food to thaw and not set off the alarm. The ice maker went out in less than 2 years.

This unit makes it easy to store all food you use and to see its location. We are able to keep fresher food as a result. A well thought out design. We have not had to clean this refrigerator yet. However, it looks easy enough.

I replaced my GE 27 cft with this. Big difference is ice/water are out side of door. This gives me more refrigerator space and less freezer space. I have a refrigerator in the kitchen, and this is in my garage. So ice is replaced with frozen food for me. A better model, and well thought out. I think this is well thought out.

Largest refrigerator I've ever had. Lots of room & drawers. Love the door shelves that are big enough to hold a gallon of milk. Has dividers in the shallow drawer & the top shelf of the freezer that are useful. I've had it less than a week but so far I love it. It's quiet & the LED light inside is bright. The stainless steel finish is beautiful. The doors are easy to open & close. The temperature adjustment is easy. We don't have a water supply for it so we're not using the water or ice maker. Not sure of the lifespan of a new appliance these days, but since it's a GE, we're hoping it will serve us well for a long time.

I have had this fridge for a day and so far so good. It’s beautiful on the inside and out. There is so much room. The shelf that pushes in is a great help for taller containers. The freezer drawers are very spacious. I’ve also really enjoyed the water spout on the inside instead of outside in the door. The unit runs quietly. The two men who installed it were fantastic.

Well I'd like to say it's great it makes great ice and runs quietly,but as I went to close the door the door container fell out of the entire refrigerator so I don't know why or how that happened now the plastic container is cracked and unusable.

Love this fridge! Added benefit is fridge box is 29 inches deep (with fridge door removed) so can get this generously sized fridge through smaller doorways of older home. Be sure to ask appliance store if they can assist with removing door. Some box stores will not.

Nice fridge, install went well, fridge capacity excellent, freezer a little small because of ice maker but there is always a trade-off. Cooling nicely and making ice soon after install. Dimensions were spot on. Energy use will take time to figure out. Shelving in doors were a little stiff to put in but probably better than the alternative. Hopefully it will last longer than the LG that just quit on us after 5 yrs.

One week in and so far so good. Great size and capacity! Plenty of shelving! Only complaint is the water dispenser: it works, but - The button should be below the spout so it can activate by pushing the cup against it for one handed operation, as it is, you need to hold the cup with one hand and push the button with the other - although I have learned to hold the cup and push with a finger from the same hand, but the kids can't do it yet. Also the spout is so tight to the wall of the refrigerator, you have to press your cup hard against the wall or water goes everywhere. The spout needs to extend a half inch and point out a bit more. Other than the inconvenient water dispenser - we love this refrigerator so far.

I thought I loved our old refrigerator but I truly love this fridge. There is so much room in the fridge section which includes adjustable shelves. The temperature controls are easy to access and understand. The ice maker is in the freezer. This feature is amazing as it frees up so much space in the refrigerator compartment. The only dislike is the internal water dispenser. There is a hard plastic tube and there is hardly enough room to dispense water, especially in a water bottle. This feature also takes 2 hands and it is difficult to see when the bottle is full. It also sprays water everywhere if you don't get the water bottle positioned just right. This is a design flaw. It should have a pliable tube or a nozzle. I am constantly getting a towel to clean up the water. Even with this flaw, I still highly recommend this refrigerator. It was very efficient in cooling quickly after installation. I was able to put food in within a couple of hours.

The crisper need to be 3/4" shorter so a liter bottle can stand up without lifting the shelf above it. Also the doors should have 1 additional place to move bins to- spaced evenly. The doors should close easier also

Love the ice maker, it makes twice as much ice as any fridge we have owned. The inside The water dispenser is nice as no mess outside the fridge! The doors are said to be made of fingerprint resistant paint which we did not believe but it does work/look great! We got the 27 cu foot and it's so much larger on the freezer size their our old 27 cu ft. We have a lot of condiments and there is so much space for them on the doors. So that it makes our fridge looks bare for the main large shelves, the old one we could not see what we had. We love it, and strongly recommend!

So far so good. One complaint, the indoor water dispenser nozzle is rigid and cannot be used for all of my refillable bottles. Some cases I have to fill a cup that pours into my bottle. I'm still trying to figure out a good shelf placement for taller bottles. The tuck shelf is nice, but still doesn't leave a lot of room for taller bottles.

We must’ve read every review listed for this fridge on every site. We absolutely love it. One month in no issues or problems. People say it’s loud but where our kitchen is located we never hear it and even when I’m standing in the kitchen, it’s not loud. The ice is so nice and makes so much quickly half the time I’m bagging it up and using it for when we travel in our coolers. People talk about the door handle being a little crooked, but ours is perfectly straight. Definitely love the non-smudge non-fingerprint doors and handles. The one thing I wish it did have was the very bottom drawer is all one long drawer that has a divider in the middle. It’s kind of a pain in the butt to have to open both doors to get into that drawer, but definitely not a dealbreaker. We just put things in there. We don’t use often.

I've only had the refrigerator for a few hours, so I don't really know a lot about it yet. I understand there's a 24 hour break in period, which explains why the motor seems to be running nonstop.Since it's been plugged in with water line connected.

I love this fridge. I was afraid it might be too big for my kitchen, but it fits and I love it. It has so much room and I love the adjustable shelves. The freezer is easy to find everything at site and has tons of space. I love that I can set the temperature on the fridge and the freezer separately. And it keeps my food the temp I want. Cold drinks and fresh food. Can't say enough good things about this refrigerator.

I really like the matte finish and the amount of shelving and storage space in this refrigerator. It has a clean, modern look and the interior is very spacious and well organized. My only concern is that the ice cubes dropping into the bin are louder than I expected, and the sound of the water moving through the system can also be somewhat noticeable. Overall, I’m very pleased with the refrigerator so far.

Ice-maker is awesome. The space and options for storage are also better than ample. I've used the turbo-cool several times! The only negative is that the water dispenser is awkward and slow. It takes almost a full minute to fill my 24 oz mug.

Had the GE 27 refrigerator for about a month now. Great looking stainless steel finish which make cleaning a breeze (food and fingerprints). Thus far everything is working fine with the refrigerator. Although the fan that blows cold air into the fridge section is a bit noisy, one might think that the refrigerator is running constantly, but one can live with it.

It is a nice unit. However the center mullion does not close when the door is shut. It would also be nice if a printed user manual were included.

I love this refrigerator! However,Within first few days sodas ,vegetables, yogurt, sauces froze. I called G E appliances and they told me to raise the temperature from factory set 37° to 44° which I did. It seems OK now.

This was a happy surprise. Our old refrigerator stopped cooling down and freezing. This refrigerator is just slightly smaller in size than the LG we had. INSIDE! Since the ice is being made in the freezer and the water is not in the door there is alot more room for everything! I love the storage on the doors and the freezer is the same size as my other freezer. I am quite happy with this purchase.

I have had this fridge for a week now and though that would not be considered fair to review it this early. I would say so far, it is aesthetic and beautiful. It cools well and was easy to setup. It is working wonderfully so far. The only downside which wouldn't be considered such, but to be fair and try to find one, if anything, would be it is not quite as large in the freezer compartment as my previous fridge. They take up the same space, but with the icemaker in the freezer which helps with adding to be more efficient, it gives more space for the main fridge, but less for freezer space due to ice maker room. Nothing is perfect but this unit is pretty much there. I am happy. The biggest thing I worry about is how long it will last. I am hoping for a minimum of 15 years or so. We'll see.

Overall we are pleased with the refrigerator. Fingerprint resistance is a nice feature that allows for less cleanup.Humidity control and seal integrity are very good. Temperature consistency is spot on. The refrigerator does seem to run a lot with the noise level being noticeable when the compressor kicks into high after loading with groceries but you get use to it.

So far, we really like it. We haven't hooked up the water yet so can't say anything about the ice maker or water dispenser, but can say it keeps the temperature well and is very quiet. We were not sure about the temperature at first because we had just gotten it and had been opening and closing the door a lot so our milk was warm on the second day, but once we got into the normal use of it, it's been just right - good cold milk! The tech who came to check it said it was best to give it 24 hours before really assessing it and he was right. One thing I would mention to any new buyers would be that if you have a whole house filtration system, you'll want to get a bypass plug for your in-fridge water filter (at the top right of the inside of the fridge) because you really don't need it. I was able to one for free by calling GE and they were very happy to send it - you just have to ask.

Love my new fridge! Lots of storage capacity. The inside is very bright and easy to see everything. Side door shelves are very sturdy and hold quite a bit. Water dispenser is a gret feature and the ice maker is continuous making fresh ice. Freezer space is sufficient with sliding drawer for more storage. Finish is beautiful, it's not 💯 fingerprint proof, but wipes easily with just water and soft rag. Very quiet. It's only been 1 month, but loving it so far!

We purchased this GE refrigerator after checking many sites and reviews. We chose this model for different reasons, for example it is simple, has the controls out of the fridge proper, does Not have ice or water in the door and has the nice SS finish. Our Amana lasted 16 years with only 1 repair when it was about 1 year old , so, we will see how this GE stacks up over time.

My wife likes the refrigerator - big plus - and so do I. Some suggestions though. First the LED lighting could be brighter or more of it for refrigerator section. Second, the bottom freezer top tray "glide" design is not the best option in my humble opinion. Continuous gliding of the fixed front top try glides will add unnecessary wear to the glides and track they glide in. Rolling wheels would be an extremely customer focused improved design. It's very unlikely that any frost accumulation or other moisture would develop in a wheel axle that would prevent a wheel from rolling. And there would be no worn plastic particles on the food packaging or ice in the ice storage bay in the freezer! I think GE can come up with an improved design.

The capacity of this refrigerator/freezer is huge, plus, plus. The way it's laid out is efficient and brilliant. The hidden water dispenser is another great feature. I like having a water dispenser, but they can take up too much space inside the fridge and in the doors. With this being "hidden" it doesn't do that. The outside finish is as beautiful as the rest of this fridge.

Overall, I like the large capacity of my new appliance and the fact that it has French doors. (although it has a water supply line inside it, I decided not to hook it up.) It works just great. Now, It is a little different from my old one. I am still somewhat at odds understanding the configuration of the shelves. The fridge part is tall and deep and sometimes I find myself on tip toes trying to place or get something from the back of the top shelf. It is hard to accomodate the food and the tall items such as gallon of milk, juice etc. I had to re-read the paper manual to acquaitance myself with the fridge. So i took my time in deciding what went here or there. It took me more then a week to realized that the front part of the top shelf actually is made to drop down, push back and you will have room to store this tall items. But is just half a shelf, not enough room. The design for the configuration of where you want them to be is already made by the manufacturer. Also, the front of the shelves are designed like a stair, eliminating or taking away more space from the front of it. I like the capacity of the vegetable and fruits drawers, as well as the deli drawer. However, the plastic mayerial used is not quite as I would like to be. Stronger and thicker material would have been excellent choice. I noticed that the same situation (plastic used) too thin and delicate to used in the freezer portion. It appears to be roomy but then again it is not quite as big. I am outlining these items because for the price of this appliance and the quality of the inside shelving i was surprised. I have to say that the energy used, and constant temperatures in the fridge and freezer are an A PLUS. The fridge doors are roomy. The motor and compressor are quiet. Sometimes I stop tp make sure everything is OK. (I want to point out that this is my opinion and at my age I am set on my ways.) Overall, I do recommend this refrigerator to anyone looking for a new appliance.

We are really excited about our new GE Refrigerator. We love the spacious interior with everything visible and with easy access to all shelves and compartments! Although our 18 year old fridge was still working, this new GE fridge is much more energy efficient and will help lower our electric bill. We also like the interior ice maker and water spout. Both systems on our old external access fridge had ceased working a few years ago. We also love the external finish designed to reduce finger prints. If something shows up it also wipes away veryu easily!

This is replacing a Samsung RF28HFEDTSR/AA whose freezer and ice maker had failed. So far no major issues BUT 3 minor issues so far: (1) installer was unable to level the right hand door to prevent it closing by itself; (2) poor lighting design makes it difficult to see the food in the lower fridge compartments clearly because the food above blocks some of the light; (3) the current temperature of the fridge and freezer are not displayed. The shelf layout is pretty good and the door shelves provide plenty of extra space. There could be just a fraction of an inch more clearance between the shelves to make it easier to insert milk cartons and large ygurt containers.

The only minor issue i have is the tube that the filtered water comes out of is very close to the side of the fridge. A glass or plastic cup fits fine but a coffee cup or anything with a thicker side usually makes a mess inside the fridge. Still the best fridge I've owned.

Overall the capacity, configuration, efficiency, features, and the units finish are all wonderful. It is large enough to accommodate for all my uses and then some. The convenience of having the fridge on top is wonderful and the heavy frozen articles contained low and in a basket are awesome. I’m used to watching as you open a conventional combo fridge freezer look and move your feet then catch the fallen articles or hunched over to look through the fridge. To be honest it spoils you and they make smaller ones too so it the 27 is too big look.

this refrigerator size is great for me and my family. my last fridge was a 2020 replacement for one that died and there weren't too many options then. it was side by side - my dream of a refridgerator but I learned the freezer, although much easier access, seemed to narrow for a lot of items. I prefer that there is no water/ice on the outside of this fridge and really wish there wasn't water inside (now that my family found the spout). I still struggle with the accesibility of the freezer in a bottom drawer and the ice often drops behind and under the freezer drawer. kind of odd to me.

We bought this refrigerator because of its capacity We previously had 2 refrigerators, and this replaced both of them. Shelving and bins are substantial. The icemaker capacity is humongous. My biggest complaint so far is the loudness of its workings. I can overlook this if it proves to be reliable and functions properly and meets it energy use criteria advertised.

it's hard to writ a review when it was just installed. but the capacity is great that was the reason for the purchase. it resembled are old one, which lasted 20 yrs. shelving feathers are great even though i remove a few for my use. again per my older model the dimensions on this one fit perfect. it has energy star ratings so you can get a rebate from your power company most likely. and it cooled down in no time post set up.

The fridge looks nice and works well. There is ample room in both compartments. Overall, we are really happy with it. The only negatives are that the ice maker is rather slow compared to our old fridge (and it requires a scoop instead of an automatic dispenser - no crushed ice) and the water dispenser is an an awkward location inside the fridge and requires both hands to use (one to hold the cup and another to press the button above the dispenser).

This is our 2nd GE refrigerator of this same model. I liked the 1st one very much until the motherboard burnt up. It was only 2 years and 11 months old. GE should give a longer warranty if the refrigerator only lasts 3 years. I purchased a 5 year protection plan for the new one.

So far so good. It’s got great capacity in the fridge, tho to be honest I’d need more freezer space but thankfully we have a bigger one in the garage. The pull out freezer holds less than the side-by-side it’s replacing, and the ice tray insert sits about an inch out from the overall drawer it sits in, so thats wasted space which is annoying, and that plus the overall “cheapness” of the shelves in the fridge warrant a lost star. There is a shelf that can slide in and give you instant space for a taller item, which seems cool in theory, but the shelf mechanism feels very flimsy and rickety and we would prefer just another solid shelf because this one feels like it could easily break. All of the shelves feel like the thin plastic could snap at any moment so we shall see how it goes. Also, the sides are finished in black rather than being stainless all around, which was an unpleasant surprise. Still, it’s pretty quiet and feels like an upgrade from our side-by-side Fridgedaire

The doors can be removed to get the fridge through narrow doors like ours! That saved us moving it in as we were an inch too wide. We also wanted the French Doors up top specifically so we don't have to bend over to search for our dinner, and the freezer had to be on the bottom so we couldn't keep hitting our heads on the sharp angled handle of the top freezer on our old model. Got really tired of that. Saving our heads and our backs by the design, it could be moved empty by 2 people, it has wheels for moving it in place around the room, and the shelves inside are highly customizable. Nice and wide platter drawer beneath our crisper drawers! We've never had that before! We could easily set the temperatures and let it run overnight, got to 37F and 0F as we set. Very excited.

Overall the Fridge and Freezer is Great; Wish these were better; guess this comes what we pay. Most plastic that used for storage seems a bit lower grade Wish the lip that dispenses water is at a slight angle from the wall, so you can easily fit a large water container. Post water dispense a large mechanical switch makes sound, At least 2 more lights to support mid-tier would have been beneficial. Ice Maker is fantastic.

This is somewhat of a basic refrigerator which is what I wanted. However, some of the features I don’t care for. Like getting a glass of water from inside the refrigerator! Everytime you want a drink of water you have to open the refrigerator door which lets the cool air out and the refrigerator has to start cooling again! This isn’t a good feature and it’s the first time I’ve had it this way! The other complaint is the very bottom drawer of refrigerator isn’t very deep so you can’t stack other items on top of something! And lastly the Ice Drawer in the freezer is huge ( this is great if you use a lot of ice ) but it continues to fill even though it’s full and when you slide out the freezer drawer you have to gently open b/c the ice will fall out of the ice container and drop down to the bottom of the freezer where you can’t reach your get it out! The back of the ice container should have a higher back to prevent this from happening in the first place! Have to be mindful of emptying ice regularly as we don’t use that much ice unless we have company. Our last two refrigerators have had water and ice on the front of the refrigerator but then inside you had this big ice machine taking up a lot of space! It’s a trade off but for the price that we paid for this one I shouldn’t complain and I won’t once I get use to the features!

I really like my new refrigerator. I had my old GE for 15 years and liked it, too, but I like the upgrades to the design. The shelves are designed to give a better view of what is on each shelf and inside drawers. The meat drawer has a divider, so items do not get pushed to the back where you cannot see them and they get wasted. I also like the way the ice maker drawer can be removed and the machine can be turned off to allow for additional storage. Great for preholiday items.

I gave it 5 stars. It has lots if space. However I must say this: the shelving configuration does not allows for a better use of the space. It took me about 3 days to understand that the top shelf could be pushed back to allow taller items to be store, ie, 1/2 gallon milk, or 1 g. Nor a large bottle of soda. Also, you only have 1/2 a shelf fir such items. The qyal7ty if drawers or bins look cheap and fragile. They do not slide with ease when you open them. The freezer drawers are made cheap looking too.(I want to point out, that I am asenior person used to things built differently) Really, I feel I have to be careful when opening them. OVERALL, I must say I love my refrigerator and pray that it lasts for a long time. GEproducts have been in the market since I was a child and the rule was that if it wasn't GE, it was not good. I thank my Lord for providing me a fridge when I needed the most. And it is a GE!

This is an awesome refrigerator and I would have given it 5 stars but after a year and a half the evaporator fan went out. With this stated it was simple to change out and did not cost much at all. Still a great purchase and will purchase again because noting will last forever and a fan motor is an easy fix.

This was a replacement for a Frigidaire . Basically same every thing. French Door Ice maker inside water dispenser. It fit exactly in the space I had. Only thing I find annoying is the freezer shelving. When you pull the door - the bottom bin hooks the top and you need to manually lift the top bin and slide it back out of your way. I'll call support to see why that is. poor design as the Frigidaire did not do that.

The flow of the water is very slow out of the water spout which is very inconvenient the way it was designed you can barely fit the lip of a cup under spout the space is so small. The ice maker if it is ready to drops ice and you pull the top drawer out to get something of it it will drop the ice into the bottom of freezer which I have no idea how I can get it out from under the drawers. Bad design lever should shut it off when you pull drawer out

Looks great but has flaws

This looks great. Love the sleek look. Quiet. Does not show fingerprints. Inside there are lots of plastic on plastic (rollers) we hope this holds out with a lot of use (we would prefer something stronger like a roller glide system) but maybe this is the way a lot of appliances are made these days? Who knows? Also the freezer handle has fallen off the first 4 out of 5 times we used it, and it still does. It is a daily thing, reattaching the freezer door handle. If you open it directly in the middle of the handle- not an inch to the left nor right- then it seems to have a better chance of staying on. But shouldn't you be able to grab it anywhere and it stay secure and in place? We checked and doubled checked that it is secure, but time and time again it falls off (rattles to the ground- the sound will startle you for sure!)

I’ve had this fridge for less than 2 days and already dislike it. First of all this refrigerator is WAY louder than our last fridge, which is extremely disappointing and annoying. I can literally hear it on the other side of my house. The only time it’s quiet is when it’s dead silent when it’s not running, which is hardly ever. Apparently that makes it energy efficient LOL but NOT GREAT for a quiet house with remote work. My second major complaint is that Fairlife milk doesn’t fit on top of the main shelf without having to move a shelf to give way too much room above the milk and then a useless shelf of about 3 inches of clearance. The milk only needs another inch to be perfect- who measured this shelving? It would be fine if a left shelf could be used as a right shelf or vice versa, but they are not interchangeable. Am I supposed to put heavy milk in the door so that the door breaks over time?? Or on a shelf up high that can’t bear the weight of 8 milk containers the way the bottom shelf can? Again, LOL If the fridge were quiet and had more shelving options (with more holes in the back in which to insert the shelves, like so many others), this fridge would be almost perfect. But alas, whomever designed this did not consider usability or livability, and I did not notice the inadequate shelving adjustments at purchase. (OR the noise but I never saw it plugged in anywhere!!) The last downside is that I couldn’t find a similar model without ice or water - we don’t even have a water line at the fridge location in the kitchen! I wish they made these optional or add-ons. Thankfully I got this sucker on sale because I wouldn’t like to pay more for things I don’t even need, want or have an ability to use. Our next fridge will probably be a Bosch 800 series. Hopefully this one at least lasts a while to get my money’s worth, but I’m definitely not thrilled with my purchase. Very sad my last fridge went out and that returning a refrigerator is such a hassle.

I was turning the front right leveling leg out when the threads stripped out & it wouldn't turn out or in after that. I believe it stripped out because the threads on the leg are metal but the threads on the frame are plastic. Because it stripped out I had to use a block of wood under the leg to level it out. I was also disappointed because I thought the whole frig was stainless steel but just the door is stainless steel.

The spout on the water dispenser is, for the lack of a better term, aimed in the wrong direction. I’d expect it to be pointed out, away from the interior wall. I’ve attempted to spin it around to no avail. And, trying to bend the cold, hard plastic tube seems like it’s simply going to snap off.

I had the model with the water and ice on the door prior to this. While I didn’t use the door features, I like that model better because there were more options for shelf arrangement.

We are very disappointed with this replacement for our old refrigerator. It has little options for placement of shelves. The top interior is much smaller than our previous model. The freezer is approximatley half the size of the previous model. The shelves in the freezer catch every time it is opened.

Milk should not be stored in refrigerator doors according to most sources. The distance between shelves is not sufficient to allow milk to be put on shelf. By raising the top of shelf you narrow the width of top and second shelf. NOT GOOD. To set Sabbath mode, ice maker switch must be turned off. This switch is all the way at the back of freezer drawer making it very difficult to reach. Dispenser water is cool not cold.

The refrigerator is nice looking. I find the shelving and door bins to feel "cheap" compared to my old refrigerator. Also, the right produce bin will not open fully unless both of the French doors are opened. It is a good basic refrigerator and serves our purpose, but it is not anything special. We did not hook up the ice or water because of our well water. We do not drink our water so there was no sense in hooking those up.

To be honest 3 stars is a stretch. It was warranty repaired twice in the first year. After two and a half years I had to replace it. It is one of the noisiest refrigerators Ive ever owned. Super, super, super, noisy! Pros: Ice maker is good if you have a high demand. Produce is kept fresh quite well. Cons: Number one con: this refrigerator is noisy. Noisy, noisy,noisy,noisy! The door seals are not great. The doors don't stay open well even if it is level. The water dispenser is a pain. The freezer ices up frequently. Would not even recommend to someone I don't like.

After two weeks of purchasing this fridge, quick review, chilled water is a joke, Whirlpool had a tank, GE uses a rolled up plastic hose, which gives you less than half a glass of chilled water. The fridge runs all the time hardy ever shuts off, guess the electric bill will tell. Does keep everything cold and frozen. Hopefully it will last longer than 4 years the last whirlpool fridge did.

This is my first french door fridge. Love the fridge with the LED lights and all the room. However, not a fan of the freezer drawer. It is very hard to organize and find items. Also, I think it doesn't always close all the way. I'll open it to find the items are a little wet.

The model is the 36 inch wide one. It's very deep compared to other brands. Storage on the doors is gallon size which seems to much. Overall it will do for the next few years. I am hoping for 6 years. The finish is not fingerprint resistant even though that is what is listed. You see it !

The water dispenser is too slow. Also, if you want to turn the ice maker on or off, you have to reach your arm ALL the way to the back of the freezer, dragging whatever you are wearing over the ice cubes. If your arms are shorter than most people's, this is a struggle.

I love the configuration. It is the same refrigerator that I previously had, so I love most things about it. What I didn't appreciate was needed to buy a new one after only 4 years because the other one stopped keeping the food cold. Something that you need in a refrigerator, and the reason you buy one! Hopefully this one will last longer, and I won't need to buy a new one. If I do, it defiantly won't be another GE.

We had a 2014 model of the same refrigerator which was heavier and more solidly built than the new one we just purchased a few weeks ago. The freezer door is clunky, it is much lighter and actually a bit less room. The produce drawers are smaller/not as tall and the inside tray where the ice is made does not stay in by itself. Prefer our older model.

I got the fridge and had issues from the first day, in 2 weeks time there were three service calls. Finally HVAC repair man was sent and he found the condenser fan motor was defective and needed to be replaced and there was vibrations in compressor. After fighting with store owner this whole time he finally decided to take it back and give us a new one. It has been ok so far but I'm concerned it won't last very long and am nervous about putting food into it. This hasn't been a good purchase for me.

The fridge is very reliable for maintaining refrigerated or frozen items. Ice maker is excellent. It does run noisier than other fridges we’ve owned though. And the water filter is not inexpensive to replace twice yearly. My biggest concern is the quality of the shelving. Our fridge is only 2 years old and the plastic frame of the sliding shelf has already broken. Not sure what a replacement shelf will cost yet.

Poor Quality

Let me start by stating I wish I had my old GE back that was purchased in 2009! Quality has diminished considerably. If GE parts were still available I would have kept it. But since Haier purchased GE Appliance division back in 2016 most parts are no longer available. This is the replacement model for the one I had at that time. This is supposed to be the same size freezer capacity, but something changed in the configuration . The same food that was housed in the old freezer does not fit in this one very well. They also have dividers in the upper freezer drawer that you cannot remove. Every time you open the freezer the top drawer comes out as well. 90% of the time I only want to access the actual lower freezer compartment. You have push it back and up over the hump to get it out of the way. The shelving has also changed. The shelves are not as long front to back as the ones previously. There is also no longer two hooks to lock in a shelf. There is only one, with a molded strip to rest on the side wall so you are limited as to where they can be positioned. They have this nice new feature called a "Quick Space" shelf which allows you to slide it under and back for taller items, but it cannot be moved to the opposite side. Not a deal breaker, but definitely not convenient. The quality of the plastic on the door bins and crisper drawers is cheap. Something you would find in a lower end model. The side door bins are very difficult to push in/back and down. It is almost like the bin is too large for the space. I had to force them in and then couldn't push them down to lock into place. I had to get someone to help. I am not a weak person! They removed the butter dish and replaced it with two small shelves at the very bottom. Because of the positioning of the other bins above them getting even small items out of that space is awkward. The one positive thing is the additional lighting that is in the fridge. Previously there was only a light at the top. This unit has a top light as well as two additional side lights by the crisper drawers. Visibility is great. If you've never had the experience of owning an older GE model, you might think this one is great, but it lacks on many levels. I do not recommend!

Truth GE has gone out of the way to over build and over price one simple part the "water Filter" How about your RV water filter on amazon $25.99 for two (2) and if you want to look around amazon they are even cheaper. LOL oh ya back a few ago GE water filter cost the same, because they were the same filter. Now we have to pay $56.00 for one filter, AND change it every (6) months, and that's not all folks, When you install the filter you must run two (2) gallons of water thru it, yep waste two gallons of water that in your RV you give to your kids "Oh Gee is that dangerous???" Ya a rip off, kinda like the printer deal, they give you the printer cheap but you take a load out on the ink!! Well I have two new filters and not to be used. This model generates condensation on the underside of the glass shelves and ice forms on the back wall. Water gets everywhere! It freezes food in the refrigerator compartment. They replaced my first fridge and now the replacement is doing the same thing! Very disappointing and expensive! Food is constantly being ruined!

Not even 2 months in and the freezer defrosted everything. The repair man said it’s a coolant leak. On a “brand new” refrigerator?? Is this the quality we’re paying for now!? Beautiful refrigerator but that’s all it is beautiful after three years of the compressor and other parts on it started breaking down. GE came out to fix it because I had an extended warranty. They spent well over 1700 to get it fixed and it still was not fixed, which left me having to come out of my pocket to buy a new one. I think they are designing these refrigerators not to work for a long period of time so that people can buy another one for years. Refrigerators use to last well over 10 years. Check the reviews on these refrigerator and you will know exactly what you’re getting. The reviews are real. I should’ve listened to them. I would never buy another GE refrigerator again.

Purchased this suite of appliances less than 6 years ago from our local dealer. We loved the fridge until this past spring when it was not keeping cold. It took multiple repair visits including an error on the part of the repair person. We were told they had trouble with the fans, and a “new and improved “ fan was finally installed. After multiple visits, that last visit in September (!) seemed to do the trick until this week—the week before Thanksgiving (!!) when the same issue is occurring. I can’t even begin to describe our frustration!!!! We do have an old fridge in the garage but should NOT KEEP HAVING TO USE IT BECAUSE THIS ONE IS BROKEN!! We have found absolutely NO satisfaction in this issue. At this point I would never recommend this fridge. Unfortunately the slate color is only in the GE line so we will likely end up having to purchase a new fridge that doesn’t match our suite—all due to no fault of our own. Ugh. This has been an absolute nightmare

Disappointing Start

I had to quickly get a new refrigerator and this one came highly recommended. A few design issues that are minor but annoying 1. You do not have options where to put shelves other than to leave some out. My LG I replaced had shelf notches continuously to allow to customize shelf location - minimal cost in punched aluminum part. GE shelf location is 1/4 to short to allow my milk to there. 2. A design feature of a french-door is the ability to open one door at a time. However, you have to open both doors to get to vegetable draw. The LG had a small middle draw that was not only handy but allowed only one door to be open at a time. 3. The water access in the fridge is painfully slow. I feel like I am wasting so much electricity to get cold water. 4. The top freezer draw comes out everytime, handy for ice but not accessing the bottom part. And it does not slide easily but you have forcefully push it like you are dislodging it off track. 5. There is toe kick. I have 2 inch gap under the fridge that has already seen legos, matchbox cars, and fork end up under in less than a week. Apparently, per GE help line, they do not even make one as an after market option. 6. the ice maker and fan are loud!

It’s constantly running, you have to slam the freezer door shut to make sure it’s shut otherwise you have ice forming on the inside of the door and food melting inside the freezer.

Broken after only 1 year

First, this is an extremely loud noisy fridge. It is significantly louder than my old Samsung. Lots of rattling and sometimes I’d have to give it a push and it will stop. A few months into having it the ice machine switch broke off and the entire ice maker needed to be replaced they couldn’t just repair the switch. One year and 3 weeks later the freezer is not working and frost has covered the back of it. It’s making the loudest humming like an engine reving and it just runs and runs all day long and the temp won’t drop below 25 degrees. I’m not even fixing it I’m just getting a new fridge. It unfortunately broke 3 weeks after the 1 year warranty ended. I’m regretting not getting the extended warranty I didn’t realize how cheaply made this fridge is.

Would not recommend - we have had a little over 2 years and are having to replace (NOT buying another GE). This is the second GE refrigerator we have had and had problems with both. Like I said, we have only had this one a little over 2 years and the freezer freezes up and the refrigerator part does not cool - we have had to throw food away twice.

GE French Door refrigerator with lower freezer

Within 2 yrs the main control board failed. The fridge was not defrosting and the evaporator located on the back wall of the lower freezer would completely ice up preventing it to cool down properly. The circulating fan in the freezer was making all kinds of loud alternating vibrations. The defrost heating element and evap thermistor checked out ok. My last whirlpool fridge ran for over 20 yrs. Very disappointing…. More overpriced cheaply built junk.

I will start with I love the looks of the refrigerator. That being said, the inside water dispenser is not really something I would use and to have to shut the water off to change the filter is not easy for people in their 80s, therefore we will not be using the inside water dispenser. For the big issue, we have had this refrigerator for 2 weeks and on day 11 we noticed the ice had melted into a sold mass of chunky ice. We raised the temp and thought it was better and now I sit here waiting for a repair person on day 13. I am not very happy about that. We travel a lot and I fear a leak will happen when we are gone. Stay tuned for an update. This will prove just how good GE is about warranty and repair what could be a "lemon"!

It is 2026. If you have had ice and water dispensed from the fridge door, buy a fridge with ice and water in the door. We decided we could live without ice and water in the door, but I now regret it. There is a water dispenser inside the fridge but it takes three hands to use it as you must hold the door open while you are getting water. She wanted a freezer on the bottom, which I thought would be OK; it makes sense. The usable volume of this freezer is about half that of our similar sized side by side. I want to buy a frost free upright freezer to increase our freezer volume. So, you may be looking to buy another freezer, The shelves aren't really adjustable which is quite annoying. This makes the usable fridge volume seem much smaller.

Capacity: even though it states to have a larger qu ft volume than my old refrigerator, it seems to hold less food containers and bottles. Maybe because of the configuration that gives me less options in shelf positioning (just 3 pre-set positions instead of customizable positions every 2 inches or so). It seems that the designers didn't measure the standard height of juice and milk cartons or kefir bottles, and just put shelf heights randomly at 5" intervals. There's no room to put a gallon of milk in, i had to switch to 1/2 gallon cartons that fit in the door. BUT to put them in the door I have to put the door shelves in the single available spot, so the shelves directly below are INACCESSIBLE and useless. Check the product photos used by GE to show the inside of the refrigerator and ask yourself if the bottom shelves in the doors can be used? NO, the ad products were put in before assembling the shelves directly above them. The freezer seems to be good at first, but also has hidden issues. The top shelf of the freezer is getting pulled out when you open the freezer door, and it's hard to push it back in to access the bottom. I checked and rechecked the installation instructions, it sits in place, but it's getting pulled out every time I open the freezer with a loud clanking noise. The magnet in the freezer door kicks in when you close it, but in a couple of seconds it turns off, and even a toddler can accidentally open it a crack, and it stays unlocked and gets a lot of frozen condensation inside. Overall, I'm unhappy with my purchase. It is a refrigerator that keeps food cold, but one has to be very inventive and careful to operate it. Did not meet my expectations of a GE appliance :((

When this was delivered I was visibly shocked at how poor the quality was! I've gotten used to everything getting increasingly worse but this new model is so utterly cheap that it seems like a toy. EVERYTHING on this is cheap, thin, noxious plastic! It is STILL offgassing after a week. There's no way this thing outlasts its warranty and I doubt it even makes it to the end of the warranty period without pieces breaking off. My last GE fridge was excellent, this one is garbage and I'm seriously considering returning it. I can't even get magnets to stick the outside "metal" parts because this is primarily plastic! The control panels are cheaper and have less functionality. The entire interior is plastic there are no metal clips or hooks anymore for the shelves. The entire refrigerator is much smaller & cheaper than the model it was supposed to replace, even though I was told this was a direct replacement for the model I previously had...it's not. The plastic on this is so thin, I know the drawers, shelves and baskets will break soon. Even the three prong plug power cord looks like it was taken from a cheap extension cord and put on this as a power cord. Every square inch of this refrigerator is lower quality and made of cheaper materials than the refrigerator it is replacing, at the same or higher price. This is the last time I buy GE. As a loyal GE appliance owner, ALL my large kitchen appliances were GE. I still have some small GE appliances from the 60s. It simply is not the same company, since being bought by a foreign company.

Waited 2 weeks to get our new fridge. Literally 1 hour after the fridge being installed, the ice/water feature was not working. Waited another week for someone to come fix it. They weren't able to fix it - said it needed a new 'chip' and this has been a problem with this particular fridge. We ended up returning this fridge and buying an LG. Hope this one lasts more than 1 hour!!!

Refrigerator was installed, running, lights on but was not cooling. Was told to wait 24 hours and it did not ever cool. I lost a lot of food. Serviceman came out and found the factory had not attached one of the wires that run to the compressor. It is now cooling well. Since it was just installed I am rating it a 2 because of the frustration it caused. However, it may prove to be a wonderful Refrigerator..?

Purchased new 02/2022, laid to rest 09/2025 While it worked, it was great. Made plenty of ice, had plenty of storage. However, the problems started at year 3. Paid to replace the freezer defrost heater only to find out that the freezer fan also died. On top of that, it's making a sound that indicates the compressor is on its way out. I chose GE because they were supposed to be more reliable than other brands, but we owned a Samsung for 5 years with no issues before we moved. I'm switching brands.
