Whirlpool 28 Inch Top Freezer Refrigerator WRT314TFDB

Most reviewers report that the refrigerator cools very well and maintains set temperatures reliably. However, a few owners have noted that the freezer compartment does not stay as cold as the dial setting, resulting in soft ice cream, while the refrigerator section runs too cold. Overall, the majority of users are satisfied with cooling performance.

Most owners report that this model is quiet or very quiet during operation. A few reviewers specifically praised it as being much quieter than their previous refrigerators. One owner wished it were slightly quieter, and another mentioned it makes a whirling sound, but quiet operation is a consistent positive across the majority of reviews.

This model has 14 cubic feet of capacity and is described by most owners as having a good, spacious layout with plenty of room for daily needs. The adjustable shelves are appreciated. However, some reviewers noted that the door shelf placement is poorly designed—with space for only very large or very small items but no good spots for medium-sized containers—and that some storage features (like a drawer that mounts to the shelf or a meat storage bin) are missing or not included.

Yes, this refrigerator is compact enough to fit through doorways and into small spaces where full-size models cannot. Several owners specifically purchased this model because it was the only size that would fit through their home's entryways or into their available space.

The door is reversible in design, but multiple owners report significant difficulty removing the plastic plugs that need to be taken out to change the hinge direction. Some plugs appear to be glued in place and break when removed, and the unit does not come with a complete replacement set of plugs for both doors, making the reversal process frustrating.

No, this model does not have a light in the freezer compartment, which one owner identified as a notable drawback compared to other models.

Most owners report solid performance and reliability, with many comparing it favorably to previous appliances. However, a few concerning reports exist: one owner experienced a light switch that fell apart after 2 months, another had compressor failure within 3 weeks (on a replacement unit), and one had auto-defrost and starting capacitor failure. These appear to be isolated incidents rather than a widespread pattern, but potential buyers should be aware of the possibility of early component failure.

One owner reported that the product photo showed a meat storage bin, but their unit did not include it. Another noted that they were promised a front grill plate by a certain date but it did not arrive. It is worth confirming what accessories and components are included with your specific order before delivery.
