Gathering the reviews
We continuously collect owner reviews and public discussions from major retailers and community forums, de-duplicate them, and set aside anything we can’t tie to a verified purchase.
Calculating the average
Averaged across every source we found (Amazon, AJ Madison, and other retailers). Each source counts in proportion to how many ratings it has, so a store with thousands of reviews moves the number more than one with only a handful.

What owners talk about most
“This is a great fridge! Sleek and stay cold! The bottom drawers could be a little bigger. I like the way I can move the shelves around to fit my needs. The door shelves have a lot of space and I love that! I think overall this is a great fridge and even better that it is energy efficient.”
Owners Answer
The questions shoppers ask, answered from real owner reviews and discussions across the web — not the manufacturer spec sheet. See the spec FAQ below for the official numbers.
Most owners report the interior feels surprisingly spacious and well-organized, with flexible shelf placement and good use of door and drawer space. However, some reviewers upgrading from older or larger models note the fridge feels smaller than expected for its cubic-foot rating, so it's worth comparing against your previous unit's actual layout rather than capacity alone.
Yes—the vast majority of owners praise consistent, reliable cooling and freezing performance. Reviewers consistently report food stays properly cold, the freezer maintains excellent temperature, and the crisper drawers work very well.
Owners report noticeable savings on electric bills and appreciate the energy efficiency. Several reviewers specifically mention they haven't seen a change in their utility bills despite regular use, and the model is described as efficient to run.
Most owners report the fridge runs quietly and is suitable for kitchens and living spaces. However, some reviewers note it can be loud when the compressor runs or produce rattling/buzzing noises, particularly in the first few months—so if noise is a concern, this may warrant clarification with the retailer.
This refrigerator features adjustable shelves that can be moved to fit your needs, wire shelving, crisper drawers with good visibility, and spacious door shelves. Some owners prefer glass shelves over wire racks, and a few note the model has fewer door shelves (2 vs. 3 on older units) and lacks specialty drawers like meat or cheese compartments found on previous models.
Yes—reviewers consistently report easy assembly and appreciate the simple, straightforward setup. The unit arrives well-packaged and is ready to use quickly.
This model does not include a built-in ice maker, though it has an optional ice maker available. If your previous refrigerator had a water line for ice, you'll need to arrange for a plumber to cap the line since this unit cannot connect to it.
Overall, owners report strong durability and longevity—many cite GE's track record of refrigerators lasting 19–30+ years. However, a small number of early failures have been reported, including frost buildup around the freezer door and icing in the cooling duct within the first few months, so it's worth registering the warranty and monitoring the unit closely in its first weeks.

What Owners Say
299 ratings
I love this refrigerator. I live in a small apartment and my other refrigerator was so cramped. This one seems to be the same size but as much more spacious on the inside freezer space and regular compartment.
Very simple, well built fridge, plenty of room and an option for an ice maker. What else could you want?
Nice freezer capacity for the farmers dog deliveries-plenty of fridge room for cases of beer Maintains temp out in the garage
This refrigerator has been awesome for my needs. I have plenty of shelving space. The freezer is a little smaller than I would like but it still is sufficient. The temperature is perfect and easy to configure. It’s quiet.
My house limits the refrigerator size. Of all the refrigerators available to me this is the only one that fits. The previous refrigerator was also a GE, of course. I replaced it because is getting old. I estimate the old box to be over 30 years old. It is now serving as a back…
