Frigidaire 18 cu. ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator FFTR1835VS

This model provides 18 cubic feet of total capacity. Reviewers consistently praise the spacious interior, noting it offers plenty of room for storing frozen items, ice cream, and overflow food, with flexible shelf configurations that allow you to customize the layout to your needs.

Most owners report the unit runs very quietly. Several reviewers specifically mention being impressed by how quiet it is compared to older models, and one owner notes it runs so quietly they hope it lasts for decades.

Reviewers report that this model keeps food properly frozen and maintains even temperatures throughout. One owner specifically noted that unlike their previous refrigerator, this unit no longer freezes items in the back, and the freezer keeps ice cream at a cold yet scoopable temperature.

The refrigerator section features bright, excellent lighting that makes it easy to see all contents. However, several reviewers note that the freezer compartment does not have a light, which is something to consider if you need visibility in that section.

Most reviewers with ice makers report that they produce ice quickly and efficiently. However, one owner noted that their ice maker is very slow and does not keep up with heavy ice usage, requiring them to supplement with ice trays.

Reviewers consistently describe this as an excellent value, praising it as cost-effective and great for the money. Owners appreciate the focus on practical features and reliable performance without unnecessary extras, making it a solid choice for those seeking a dependable freezer at a reasonable price point.

While most reviewers report satisfaction, a small number have experienced early failures—including a compressor failure after one week and a heating element malfunction after one year. Most owners express confidence in the brand based on long-term ownership, though some note concerns about repair costs being nearly as high as purchasing a new unit.

One reviewer reported that the freezer door tends to open when the refrigerator door is opened, requiring extra attention to ensure it closes properly. This appears to be an isolated issue rather than a widespread pattern.
