Ice in the freezer compartment?

Black Top Freezer Refrigerator

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

My husband and I needed to replace our previous refrigerator. We had issues with the ice maker on the old brand. We felt we didn't need that since we have ice trays, and felt the smaller cubic feet model would be a perfect fit since it is just the two of us in the home. We like the black color because it matches our range and microwave. We are so happy with the choice we made!

Love my Frigidaire. It's everything I need for a small kitchen without all the unnecessary fancy options. It fits, moves easily (literally one hand) for cleaning. And it's stainless steel! Very happy!!

Like this refrigerator for my garage

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I liked the layout of this fridge even better than some of the more expensive ones. Better freezer layout and the fridge layout as well. Great for a garage ready model.

Absolutely beautiful

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Wonderful fridge, we have never had a new fridge, our old one finally died, it was about 30 tears old. This new one is some better, beautiful inside and out, energy efficient, so big inside, door shelves are amazing so large and can hold so much, adjustable shelves. Freezer has so much room. I just love it!! The great cooler matches my kitchen cabinets perfectly.

18 cubic foot garage fridge

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We need a day smaller fridge for our kitchen and this fits perfectly there's plenty of room in the freezer and the refrigerator we love the modern design on the front without the handles sticking out If you're looking for a basic fridge you can't go wrong with this Frigidaire garage fridge it may be on the smaller side of the fridges out there but there is plenty of room in the freezer and the refrigerator we are very happy with our purchase

Frigidaire Refrigerator

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I love, love my Frigidaire Refrigerator. I have always been a customer to purchase Frigidaire products. Frigidaire products are the best to buy, and perform better than most brand name products. Matter of fact Frigidaire have lasted longer of any other appliance that I ever purchased. The refrigerator that I purchased is very efficient, my food products are lasting longer, stays fresher and the space in my new Frigidaire fridge holds more food than my last fridge. Frigidaire are exceptionally appliances in my opinion!

Just Right

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I needed a size for my mobile home that would accommodate space for my husband and me. I love the top freezer and the many drawers to separate the food groups. The only complaint is that there is no light in the freezer; however, using it only in daylight, it works out fine.

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

Freeze is excellent, refrigerator part, well we have the dial at the minimum and it’s about 32 degrees in there. With the dial set at the midpoint the temp was 30 degrees

Frigidaire is the best!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I've always been pleased with Frigidaire models. I live in a mobile home and had to order a single door fridge so it will fit in the smaller space. It fits perfectly yet has much more room in both the fridge and freezer than expected. I love the wide compartment shelves in the door, the glass adjustable shelves and the veggie/fruit bins. I just love everything about it!

I love Frigidaire refrigerators

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I had a 27 year old Frigidaire refrigerator. It needed to be replaced and no doubt I wanted another Frigidaire. I knew the brand was going to meet my expectations. This new model did. The space definitely meets my needs. Its very spacious and I feel like I need to shop more to fill it up. It fits in my designated space perfectly. I'm waiting to get my ice maker installed and then everything will be perfect.

Very good first week

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

This refrigerator was easy to move into our house and set up, and we love the design, features, and quiet efficiency. We are using it as a secondary fridge / freezer, and it provides great value for the price. I won't give five stars because of the icemaker; it needs to be purchased and installed separately, and the icemaker has very poor ratings in Consumer Reports. We will not buy and install an icemaker.

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I have had Frigidaire products since I married, 54 years, and I have never been disappointed in there performance. My first refrigerator lasted 32 years. My second one 18 years. And, I have the same confidence with this one. I love the way it looks, sleek, and that it doesn't have those projecting door handles that I always about knocked myself out when I was on the search for something.

Great Refridgerator at a Deal

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

This refridgerator is sleek, yet spacious inside. I like the newer model of drawer mechanisms that do not break like the old models. And the newer top shelf in the door eliminated the 'butter' drawer that we never needed, so we have more room there also! I wish I could have gotten this fridge in something other than Stainless Steel, as it shows fingerprints.

Delighted with our Top Freezer Refrigerator. The unit is in the garage, just steps from the kitchen. As seniors, the freezer on the top saves us from constant bending unlike the bottom freezer in the kitchen. Likewise, the refrigerator is super large and holds enough to reduce the necessity to grocery shop so often. Excellent choice!

Affordable Fridge with Odd Door Issues

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

What I want from a refrigerator is fairly basic, and this fridge does keep things cold. I notice two things that I'm not very happy about: 1. I believe there is an open connection between the freezer and fridge so when I close the fridge door, the freezer pops open. Additionally, I've had a difficult time installing the top freezer door in the right way: it's hard to make it so that it sits straight and doesn't grind when opening. Otherwise, it looks pretty and works, and the seals on the doors themselves seem to be good.

Perfect of our needs!!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Our main refrigerator died and we needed a replacement fast. The price and availability on this model made it an easy choice. The fridge chills more than we expected, so we turned the temperature down. The interior is bright and we transferred all our food over quickly. It runs quiet too. The door pockets hold drink containers and condiments with room to spare. The freezer performs well too. It froze everything quickly and we haven't seen any ice buildup. This is a no-frills fridge, and it delivers exactly what we wanted.

Pleasantly Surprised!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

When my refrigerator of nearly 40 years died this month, I had very few options for replacing it; the alcove in my kitchen was both too narrow and too short for most of the models on the market. This was one of two that fit. The appliance has a spacious interior, is very cold, and runs quietly. Can't complain!

I love my new Frigidaire refrigerator!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I am so happy we purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator. I love the inside as well as the outside. The black color and finish look even better in our kitchen than in the store. The inside is so brightly lit up, the glass shelves are great and the see through drawers are awesome. I also love the fact of no door handles, plus the inside door shelves are so big and roomy a gallon of milk fits perfectly. I wanted a nice size freezer compartment and the top freezer is exactly that, with plenty of space. I would definitely recommend a Frigidaire refrigerator to my friends and family or anyone who is looking to buy a new refrigerator. Thank you Frigidaire for making this customer very happy.

New Garage Refrigerator

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We purchased this fridge to replace a 15 year old one that had developed bad seals and was creating a lot of condensation. The price of replacing door seals on a unit that old versus buying a new unit was an easy "Purchase" decision. So far working great in our insulated shop storing our overflow items.

Hoyette · Jun 11, 2026

Awesome design

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I really appreciate the function over form approach on this product. Rather than a bunch of kitchy, useless features, the designers went back to the much needed basics. The door storage trays are judge and sturdy, and are completely enclosed so small bottles can't fall out. The cripser drawers have small wheels that actually let them slide easily. The deli drawer is on a horizontal slider so you can customize the layout inside your fridge! And, there is just so much space in the freezer and fridge alike. Just a very simple product that does what it's actually supposed to: provides ample, easily accessible and customizable space with no extra doodads. Great work from the designers!

This is an 18 cf fridge, same size as our last fridge but magically not in a good way the interior is smaller than the previous occupier of the space. It also doesn't stick out as far as the other one we had . This one also does not have a freezer light, so if you are wanting a freezer with a nice bright interior light don't purchase this one. We have only had our new refrigerator for about a week. Thus far it is working very well. Hopefully, it will last longer than the old one we had which only lasted about six years. That one was not a Frigidaire, but it was a major brand. There are only two of us living in our home now and we don't need anything fancy, but I like to stock up for when our grandchildren come over. I am very happy with the room in this refrigerator and freezer. I love the wide areas in the doors which are able to accommodate plenty of condiments and, juice boxes cans of pop. In reading the booklet about this fridge I was warned to expect certain noises. I have been pleasantly surprised that it's pretty quiet. As our last refrigerator started acting up it became very noisy. Noises give me anxiety even when I am told to expect them. The quiet makes me happy.

This model has decent size, okay capacity and as a bare bones fridge has everything needed for its purpose as a garage fridge. Price could have been abit better.

Solid, dependable refrigerator

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I love my new Fridgidaire refrigerator, but I knew I would because I was replacing the very same model I have had for 15 years which has never given me one spot of trouble. I bought the new one because I wanted a stainless steel model, and because I expected that the price of products made outside the US were currently being affected by an inconsistent tariff policy and potential supply chain disruptions due to the war with Iran. It is a solid reliable appliance that is perfect for my needs and I am delighted with it. The old refrigeration is now serving as a second refrigerator for my son's family and will probably give more years of dependable service.

Beautiful and spacious

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We bought this refrigerator to replace a 30-year-old Frigidaire we used as a second fridge in our basement. Roomy, adjustable glass shelving and door shelving is ample, including a mini drawer-within-a-drawer feature for deli meats, etc. The appliance’s profile is clean smooth; also, this model was a good value compared to another, smaller model with wire shelving from a different company.

Surprisingly efficient and spacious

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

In all honesty, I had my old refrigerator for 20 years and was used to its functionality. The first thing I noticed was how quiet the unit was. It is a whisper in comparison to my old unit. Space wise the units are comparable, although I do use plastic refrigerator containers to add more organization. My old refrigerator had handles. This one does not. I was slightly concerned that I would find this annoying, but it turns out I am liking it better. I bought this model size because it fits in the unique house specs. My choice was not focused on features and price. Luckily, this refrigerator met all my expectations.

We need a dependable solution

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

We had a small fridge in our basement family room that we keep beverages in for family gatherings and use for overflow food during holidays. The one we had just failed recently after at least ten years. We just wanted something similar- not too big, basic and hardworking. Reliable. Dependable. Something we could use when we need it and ignore the rest of the time. We have been very pleased with our new refrigerator.

Carandjr · Apr 4, 2026

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

Roseymac · Apr 4, 2026

Sturdy and Well Made

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

We like this refrigerator a lot better than most we've seen. As I said in the title it seems to be "Sturdy and Well Made." I like the fact that I can add an icemaker for a reasonable cost, but we will have to run a water line around to the other side of the kitchen. I may be imagining this, but the capacity seems to be greater than the unit it is replacing, while not actually that much larger on the outside. More efficient use of space I guess. Lastly, I like that it has recessed grips instead of bulky protruding handles to get caught on while in a limited space kitchen.

Door shelves are great, no wear of opening door and items falling out. Store gallon milk containers, now more room inside. Better air distribution.

1040 Gent · Apr 1, 2026

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

I love the refrigerator because having the continuous flow things in the back of the refrigerator don't freeze anymore. The one thing I would suggest is having more options for shelves on the door & a split top shelf in main body. The refrigerator is have in the house has metal strips so you can move small distances & it has a split top shelf. On the door the shelves are split so you have more options.

Extremely Unpleasant Outgassing Odor

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

Love this refrigerator with the exception of the overpowering chemical plastic odor that took two boxes of baking soda and a week to remove. My last Frigidaire did not smell like this. Although Google suggests this odor and taste of ice is normal and “harmless” it was definitely an inconvenience. I love everything else about this refrigerator. A warning should be provided to customers prior to purchases so they are prepared to store out the unit prior to first use.

Replacement Frig

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We replaced our older Figidaire with a newer of the same model. We chose black this time because it went with the stainless steel/black appliances we have. While it's just slightly different, it purrs like a kitten and is a reminder of what a good refrigerator is. Temp control is perfect, spaces are roomy. I would prefer the middle slider to be to the side and not the middle - but we are working with it. Overall, we will always go back to the Frigidaire.

Excellent mancave fridge!

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

Lovely black that fits in anywhere. Lots of space and compartments but no compartment for butter or eggs. That's why I rated 4 stars rather than 5. I like the fact that it isn't digital. Those digital components are just problems waiting to happen and add to repair costs. I also like the fact that the doors don't have handles. Those just get in the way when moving the unit around.

Great except quality of shelves/drawers

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

Not a "5-star" because of the shelves & produce drawers, but everything else working well so far. Some "lemons" in other reviews made me hesitate on this fridge, but space constraints left me with few other options. Positives: deli drawer (which can slide left, right or center), and also the bottom door shelf. the Not-so-greats: produce drawers are very low quality, and the shelves don't have many options for adjusting to a desired height-level; also the top freezer shelf cannot handle much weight even though top level leaves a lot of freezer space I'd like to use. The handful of "lemon" reviews compel me to be obsessive about leaving plenty of airflow around vents at back of freezer -- hopefully that will keep it working for a long time, even if it may never live as long as my 27 year old Maytag (still working when replaced, but not sounding healthy).

Abundant Storage

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We chose this particular fridge because of the continuous shelves across the horizontal length of the door. The single door fridges in the marketplace nowadays have multiple shelves arranged left and right. Ultimately this multi tier approach robs from useable space. In the past we chose a fridge with excessive amounts of shelves, compartments, beverage holders. The complexity of individual storage really robbed from the realized square footage. Simply put, we can get more in this fridge.

Widm · Jan 18, 2026

Good refrigerator, but noisy and the door doesn't self-close.

AJ Madison · 3 out of 5 stars

It functions well as a refrigerator. Keeps things cold and temperature seems to be even throughout. But, it is noisy! The compressor is fairly loud compared to other refrigerators that I've owned. Plus it moans and groans and almost sounds like it's talking to you at times. It is also probably the only refrigerator I've seen that the door doesn't even try to self-close. Wherever you stop the door, it just sits there. Most refrigerators have some kind of self-closing feature built in to the hinges.

AJ Madison · 3 out of 5 stars

I have only had it for a couple of months so I can't speak for it's longevity. But so far so good. I have an old house with narrow doors, and it fit through them OK with the (refrigerator) doors removed. My only beef is with the Ice Maker. Very slow. If you use a lot of ice it will not meet your needs. I've had to resort to using ice trays to keep up. That's not what I bought an Ice Maker for.

HORRIBLE : DO NOT BUY Frigidaire!

AJ Madison · 1 out of 5 stars

I have had this fridge for 1 year. 1 year and it is malfunctioning. The heating element is not working. The fridge is cooling to 60 degrees. I have to toss a bunch of food (not cheap these days). The repair cost from Frigidaire AND local tech is nearly the cost of a new fridge (cost of food and inconvenience from waiting for parts excluded). I feel you should be able to count on a refrigerator for a number of years, and if you can't, call me old-fashioned, they should jump to repair or replace it. But alas, no. No responsibility for supplying a poorly made product. We have become way too used to this, and companies have become WAY too comfortable not caring. REALLY diheartening. I would avoid Frigidaire at all costs.

Ice Maker is slow.

AJ Madison · 2 out of 5 stars

I'm satisfied with the fridge so far, but I've only had it a few weeks so I can't speak to how long it will last. My only issue is with the ice maker. It's really slow. It spits out a handful of ice every two hours. I've had to get some trays to keep up which defeats the purpose of having an ice maker.

Will never buy another Frigidaire appliance agian

AJ Madison · 1 out of 5 stars

My Frigidaire is 4 months old and stopped working is under warranty and all they can say is a authorize service provider will contact within three days so I am supposed to be without a fridge for a week. What kind of service is this? It’s not like it was a cheap refrigerator cost 800 bucks

Decent Option for Space Limitations

AJ Madison · 2 out of 5 stars

We were limited on space for width and height. This was the best option for of space limitation. I have noticed that the freezer seal tends to pop open when you close the fridge door. Not sure if this is common?

Unreliable Unit - DO NOT BUY

AJ Madison · 1 out of 5 stars

This refrigerator is 1.5 years old and it has been problematic since the 3rd week. I've had 3 service calls to fix 'known issues'. Now the unit is comletetly dead. I tried resetting it like I've had to do in the past and nothing. Since it's pat warranty, Frigidaire won't help me! I am so frustrated!!!!!!

Keeps Freezing up

AJ Madison · 1 out of 5 stars

I bought this refrigerator for my daughter a 1 1/2 years ago and it has started freezing up. After reading past reviews on this product, it is the number one problem with this refrigerator, and since it only comes with a 1 year warranty, my daughter is stuck spending more to have it repaired than what it's worth. Let the buyer beware, I would not recommend this Frigidaire product.

Extremely noisy when it's running

AJ Madison · 1 out of 5 stars

It's almost like they brought a defective refrigerator once it turns on it is very loud. When they first plugged it in it was making unusual noises, but they said it will settle in a few hours and unfortunately it didn't and got worse over the next few days. We have ordered a replacement and pray that one will not be the same problem. Wish I could figure out how to add the video because you can then hear the noise.
