Reviewers consistently praise the freezer for being very quiet during operation. Multiple owners report that it runs so quietly they sometimes have to check to make sure it's working, and several note it's the quietest freezer they've owned. The quiet performance is one of the most frequently mentioned strengths across reviews.

Yes. The 5.3 cubic foot capacity is designed for small spaces, and reviewers consistently report it fits well in closets, garages, kitchens, and apartments without taking up much room. Many owners specifically chose it because they needed a compact unit that could fit in a corner or small area, and they're pleased with how it balances size with storage capacity.

Reviewers are consistently surprised by the storage capacity. Multiple owners note that the 5.3 cubic foot freezer holds much more than expected, and several mention it's perfect for storing overflow from a kitchen refrigerator, garden produce, frozen meals, and bulk purchases. One reviewer noted it comes with a basket for organizing smaller items.

Yes. Reviewers report that the freezer maintains reliable, stable temperatures and cools down quickly. One owner noted they keep it set between -1 and 3 degrees, another mentioned it stays right around zero degrees without adjustment, and several confirm everything inside stays properly frozen. One reviewer specifically praised its 'remarkable temperature stability.'

Reviewers report positive experiences with energy efficiency. One owner living off-grid noted the freezer draws so little power from their battery storage that they 'hardly see any increased draw-down,' and another mentioned they were initially worried about their electricity bill but ended up being 'happy with it' after seeing actual usage. Several describe it as a good value for the price.

The freezer arrives with a basket for organizing smaller items and an ice scraper. Reviewers report it's easy to set up and move into place—several mention it's lightweight and simple to position. One owner noted it arrived nicely packaged without dents, and another said it was easy to operate right out of the box.

Most reviewers report no problems, but a few have noted frost buildup. One owner mentioned that because the metal bin was placed hanging on the top, the seal was affected and frost builds up regularly in that area. Another reviewer mentioned the freezer is 'getting frosted up already,' though they were still evaluating performance. Defrosting is generally reported as straightforward.

Most reviewers report strong satisfaction and plan to keep the freezer long-term. However, a few owners mention concerns about longevity: one had a previous small freezer fail just over a year after purchase, and another received a defective unit initially (which was replaced and then worked great). One reviewer also noted a case of improper refrigerant charging. Amana as a brand is praised for durability—one owner has an Amana refrigerator that's 24 years old and still working.
