Easy setup, good size
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
We’ve been extremely happy with the GE 14.1 cu ft upright freezer so far. The capacity is truly impressive , we were able to fit half a beef, roughly 200 pounds of meat, with room to spare, and the upright design makes organizing everything easy and accessible. Larger cuts, ground beef, and packaged items all fit comfortably without feeling crammed, and nothing gets lost at the bottom like in a chest freezer. It’s been very compatible with our space and needs, fitting well in our setup and running quietly on a standard outlet with no special requirements. Temperature control has been excellent from day one, holding a consistent, solid freeze throughout the freezer and giving us confidence that our meat is being stored safely. While we haven’t owned it long enough to give a measurable assessment of long-term efficiency or frost buildup, initial performance has been smooth and reliable with no issues so far. Overall, this freezer feels well-built, thoughtfully designed, and more than capable of handling serious bulk storage. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable upright freezer with substantial capacity.

Customer photo 1Great Freezer
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
Sleek looking freezer. I keep mine in my kitchen for easy access. There's a lot of storage space. Perfect for freezing meals ahead of time. There are 2 drawers and the shelves are glass, easy to clean. The plus for me is this is self defrosting. My last GE freezer, which I had for 32 years, was not. It was time to graduate!

Bought a second freezer for our home to store extra food, ice packs, etc. It fits well in our garage since it’s a little smaller and shorter and it’s the right size for a second freezer. Exactly what I was looking for.

Customer photo 1Absolutely perfect
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
I ordered this to replace another brand and I love this one so much more. The space is useful without having too many shelves. It's perfect for what I need and I will be ordering another. I love that it comes with an alarm to notify you of low temps and when the door is open. This feature will definitely save you in a power failure. The shelves are regular shelves so bags lay flat and freeze flat. The door shelves are solid so things don't fall out of the bottom. Love it!

Customer photo 1Customer photo 2Lock failure
AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars
I purchased this product in July 2023 specifically for a large order of beef which filled the complete freezer. Also bought this model specifically for the door lock feature. The freezer works wonderfully and has ample space BUT the lock is an engineering failure. The door has a metal hook which when in the lock position fits into a PLASTIC FIXTURE WHICH IS "GLUED" TO THE FOAM INSULATION OF THE FREEZER. Pull forcefully on the door and the "plastic fixture" comes unglued and the door opens. I paid extra for a locking freezer to protect my purchase of over $1300 of beef, and got a plastic fitting glued to foam. This is an engineering failure.

A New Freezer - another excellent GE product!
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
We are delighted with our new GE Freezer. Although our new freezer is smaller than our previous one (not a GE) the design of the interior is much better and I am able to organize our frozen foods effectively. We also like that the temperature gauge is on the door and that there is a turbo freeze option. We are gradually replacing all of our appliances with GE products.

So far, so good
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
We had to replace our aging freezer because at 16 years of age it never quit running. There aren't too many freezers to choose from, but when we found this one it was perfect for our needs. It's quiet and barely runs. We love the 48 hour power outage guarantee to keep food frozen. Also, it's nice to have the option to run at below 0 if needed. Great interior design and perfect size for us. Fingers crossed this one lasts as long as the last!

Good size for small household. Replaced a freezer with wire shelves. I much prefer the configuration of the solid glass shelves and drawers. I like that the temperature and other controls are on the front of the door. Also has high temperature alarm and door open alarm, did not have those on my previous freezer. Noise not an issue in a basement. Review is on new freezer so can not comment on reliability

Love this freezer. It replaced one we had for years. It is quite a bog bigger then the old one. The shelves, drawers and door shelves make it so east to organize things. Freezes well. And is pretty quiet. Can't speak to the energy savings as we haven't had it long enough to notice any difference.

Great freezer, very well designed. The inside light is perfect, nice and bright. I like the temperature on the outside door. I replaced my old freezer with this 14.1 cubic foot energy efficient garage ready model. I love the outside door features that show me the temperature setting, door open, etc. The sound signal is very helpful as well, if the door is open or the temperature is not what it should be. The shelves and bins are convenient, as is the door storage. For a mid-size freezer, this does everything a family needs!

Large enough for a lot of things. Shelving is at the right places, you don't hear the freezer running in the garage. This keeps the temperature at the right setting, even in the garage. Hot weather doesn't seem to bother it. Energy saving on unit is great.

Love it!!
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
We got this freezer because I needed to go from a chest to an upright. Because of my disability I have been having a hard time getting into a chest freezer now more and more. We have always had chest freezers because I have grown up with them only. But this is so much better. We can see whats in there without having to pull out half the stuff to get to the bottom. I also enjoy the lighting it is bright and everything is lit up nice. I like the temperature steetings from the ouside you can see the temp and all. The alarm is a plus especially if you have kids around. We may get another one and set it to fridge settings and get rid of our fridge as well. Don't think I will ever go back to a chest freezer even if I could. GE is a brand we like because you don't have to wait for parts to repair like the other import brands if something goes wrong as well.

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars
4 stars only because I have the freezer 1 day. It did get to the set temperature in an acceptable amount of time. It is less cu ft than my previous unit, yet seems much roomier. I like the glass shelves and the 3 drawers, two on the bottom and one under the top shelf. That one does take away shelf space, but I can always remove the drawer if need be. It is very quiet, almost silent. I cannot review the energy use yet, because I do not have it long enough to judge.

Lovely
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
So far it is exactly what it should be. A very nice freezer that works in extreme high temperatures in a nonclimate-controlled space in Southern Arizona. We bought it because GE said it was tested to more than 100⁰ , and it will regularly be in more than 100⁰ here. It must stand the test of time, so that remains to be seen. I also love the light inside which makes it easy to see inside in the poorly lit area in which it sits. I also very much like the panel on the front showing that it is maintaining temperature inside. (We also have an inside thermometer to verify. 😉)

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
This freezer is the perfect size. It is easy to load and see what is available without digging to the bottom, I used to have achest freezer and would lose things in the bottom.

Great Temperature Control

It was a true blessing that it brought the temperature down really fast, because our U.S. made freezer was dyeing and only 10 years old { different brand } .

Warranty is limited-
AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars
This freezer is smaller than our previous Kenmore. The Door has some wasted space with no shelves on the bottom. It is a basic freezer and does the trick so far- limited warranty is not in consumers' best interests-should extend to at least 5 years. but overall it is operating well at 6F . Since the freezer is in our laundry room the noise is not of concern. We will see what a draw the power is on our electric bill.

Great freezer 14 cu ft
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
As a returning customer I am not disappointed. Love the new convenience of small flat drawer for small odd freezable foods. Great glass shelves, sealed door shelves and frost-free convenience. Takes up little space in the garage. Wonderful display on outside of door panel including alarm for temperature inside freezer. T freezer is whisper quiet no noise. When I turned it on could barely hear it run. Surprised at the efficiency rating so low. Have always been very happy with GE products and their reliability. Love the looks of it sitting in my garage. Love the lockability of the control panel and door. GOOD JOB GE.

Great upright freezer! We put this in our garage…perfect size for small family. We are able to organize with all the shelves & the bottom drawer is perfect for small packages. AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
Have only had a few weeks, but it's running perfectly, quietly, and doing just what I need it to do. It definitely does a better freeze job than the freezer with my refrigerator, which gets opened multiple times a day. I like the interior light feature, and the seal is great. I struggle a bit with getting the key in right to turn it, but since it's in our closed garage, that's not really necessary for us.

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
It's been 24-hours and everything is working perfectly. It is sturdy, attractive, and quiet. I love the adjustable shelves, the lay out on the door and the big drawer on the bottom. It is not too big nor too small. I was a bit concerned about some of the negative reviews but I saw most of them were several years old and reading the product guide explained how to avoid some of the issues other reviewers experienced. I am so far very pleased with the product.

I love everything GE makes. I wanted a freezer garage ready and one that locks and frost free and digital info on the outside of freezer. This is a small upright and easily moved to different locations. When my freezer was delivered and placed in the garage I wanted to move it another foot and I did it with no trouble. It does have adjustable legs because my garage wasn’t level.

Great medium - size freezer
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
Bought freezer 2 months ago for garage. Running great, plenty of room. It was the perfect size for me . The glass shelves and baskets on door are great. So are the drawers. There is about a 1” difference in freezer height bs door height . So the height measurement stated is actually for the door height. That worked out great for me since I wanted to slide part of the unit under an overhang in garage. This gave me the extra 1” I needed. Using the measurement stated it was cutting it close. Highly recommend.

Great freezer
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
We had a GE chest freezer that worked great except that it was hard to keep track of inventory as things were stacked on top of each other. Purchased this upright freezer because it had shelves and thought it would be easier to keep track of our frozen food stock. We were right it is much easier to keep track of food stuff in this freezer. Liked the fact that it is really efficient; it has glass shelfs, so stuff doesn't fall through; I don't have to bend over every time I want to get something out of the freezer; and I like the fact that it also self defrosting. We have it in the garage and it is working great. It holds the temperature, is very quiet, and seems to be one of our better purchases.

The Garage Ready Upright Freezer was easy to install in minutes. I'm glad we upgraded from our 15 year old freezer to this energy saving model. I love the clear plastic on the bottom drawer, freezer shelves and door shelves. It will surely keep my food from falling through, unlike our previous freezer.

So far, my experience has been a good one from purchase time to delivery. The product did come with a missing screw so I wasńt able to install my handle on the door and I had to call and have them bring me out the missing screw so I could put the door handle on my new freezer but even though I had to wait - all went well. So for now, I am pleased with the product and my interactions in buying it.

We just received our new GE freezer, Model FUF14DLREWW. it looks great, and we believe it will provide adequately for our purpose. It appears to be very easy to monitor with its on the door guage, and controls. Since we live in a rural area in the Pacific North West, we value the claimed ability to keep food frozen for 48 hour, in the event of power outages. It also seems to have more space, and storage provisions than our previous unit, which was claimed to be the same volume, but seemed less accommodating. I believe we will be very happy with this unit, and it's projected to cost less to operate, than our previous freezer.

Great size, helps us with our small kitchen. We were able to offload our freezer contents to the garage, turn the freezer in our refrigerator...into more refrigerator. We can now stock up on frozen veggies and fruit when they are on sale, bread when it is on sale, make meals in larger quantities and freeze portions for later, etc. All while having a minimal impact on our electric bill.

Great Choice - Model FUF14DLREWW
AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars
Review is for model FUF14DLREWW. First, delivery and installation were flawless: on-time and without glitches! The interior clear shelving system was premium and higher cost, yet worth every penny. Upright was our way to go, for sure, as it makes it so much easier to organize and retrieve items. Lock feature is a plus; GE I wish a fob security system implementation was possible, since Smart seems away (Hello 21st Century!!??). Overall, happy with the choice taken and the utility it provides.

Works with Important Flaws
AJ Madison · 3 out of 5 stars
I bought this a month ago when my older freezer failed. This one works with three important flaws. One flaw I fixed the other two are mysteries and why it gets 3 stars. First, the installer didn’t set the feet incorrectly, so the door didn’t close without pushing it closed and would remain open accidentally. I set the feet so it would swing back close. Second, it is extremely difficult to open and requires shaking the entire freezer to get it open. Looking online all I can find is that it has something to do with pressure, but I’ve never had this much trouble opening a freezer or refrigerator. Third, there is a small indicator for high temperature when we lose electricity, but the temperature listed on the front is what we have set it at not what the actual temperature inside the freezer is. We bought the freezer precisely because we lose electricity a lot and want to know what temperature it is during the outage. Besides those issues Which likely are the same in other models, the freezer does seem to work and has features that will help keep food safe during the next outage.
