I love GE products. Almost all my appliances are GE brand. I’ve had them in my homes and they are built to last. I wish it had an icemaker or filtered water but I don’t have the water hook up necessary for a model like that.

We need to replace our existing GE refrigerator quickly because it was dying, and while not the model or features we wanted we purchased this one because it was in-stock. Product fit-and-finish not up to GE's standard. Doors (slightly) misaligned, small dent and a few scrapes in the finish on one of the doors. On the positive side it is performing well.

For a simple fridge and freezer it’s great. It keeps foods cold and good temperature range. I like the middle drawer for cheese and lunch meat. Bottom drawers for produce and other stuff. Easy to clean shelves. I wish though the top shelf wasn’t so short, maybe I can adjust it?

Beautiful, roomy & well-designed

Very pleased with the "Slate" colored stainless exterior. It is unique, and looks great with the dark green cabinets (still being painted, as seen in the photo) in my kitchen. Most of all, I am very pleased with the roomy, well-designed interior. You can see everything, since the shelves-including those on the door, are clear. The lines are straight, and no space is wasted. The freezer is also roomy and open. I read some reviews on the site where I ordered this that it was "noisy." It in NOT noisy at all. This is a second fridge in my house, and I am much happier with it than the more expensive, double-door, bottom freezer in the main kitchen. Highly recommended!

I like this model of refrigerator because it meets the needs of a family of six. The freezer is very spacious and the lower part of the refrigerator is very wide for all foods, with three very useful drawers for vegetables. I recommend this model to those who have an economic budget :)

A few weeks into ownership, we'd say that ownership is favorable. We picked up one additional cubit foot of storage, and the door bins in particular are roomy. That said, we thought our old refrigerator was noisy, this one is more so. The shelves are well made but the possible height locations are few, limiting placing the shelves to maximize utilization of the space. We do not yet know what the electricity consumption will be like, except that the unit was rated Energy Star.

Good overall fridge

Like the space and having multiple drawers in fridge. Temp seems to work good. Shelves hold quite a bit but look a little flimsy. When you put items on shelves you can see the slightly sag, but still seems sturdy. . The only downfall is no light in the freezer.

Freezer door flaw

The capacity, cooling and efficiency is very good. I would have rated this product as 5 stars but there is one issue with this refrigerator. The freezer door opens when i shut the refrigerator door. The pressure generated when closing the door forces the freezer door to open.

Replacement second refrigerator.

The Bottom freezer refrigerator being replaced was an appliance that stayed with our house when we bought it, it had to be 10 plus years old before failing. Beautiful stainless steel. Bigger inside than I expected which is great. We have a short space for a fridge and wanted a freezer at the bottom of the unit, but did not have the extra inch or two required. Yet, we are really happy with the unit. Positives--looks great, lots of space inside, the hanging drawer in the middle is moveable to allow for large items such as turkeys to be stored in the fridge. the door storage is really large, yet does not crowd the shelving. This is true for both the fridge and the freezer. Negatives--we had an ice maker installed in the freezer as it did not come with one. the ice maker is tiny, but functional. it does not turn off automatically. the light inside the fridge is dimmer than our previous fridge. the freezer and fridge temp was a bit warm, so had to be turned up higher than I expected, even in the winter. Overall, I like this fridge more than our previous Maytag.

This GE fridge works great for us

We bought this GE fridge because it gives us 2 more cubic ft storage and yet fits well in the smallish kitchen of our 100 year old house. We already had a different GE fridge in our basement that still runs great after 10 years, so we had confidence in this brand. Some reviews say this fridge is noisy, but we don’t find its running sound to be loud. It’s more of a mild hum.

Very happy with the purchase. However, the first 24 hours after installation and adjustment period were disconcerting because of all the odd sounds and nonstop running. Turns out that all this mental anguish could have been avoided if the manual had a section telling you what to expect during the first 24 hours. Don't be tempted to put the temperature setting higher than "recommended" thinking it'll get to temperature faster after installation. Trust me, the gurgling will stop. An explanation from GE engineers would have been nice to read in the manual. Overall, great product.

So far, so good. It runs great, cools and freezes great, looks great. The freezer is spacious. We kept the freezer rack from our old refrigerator/freezer and it fits perfectly in the new one! Now we have 2 racks which gives us a narrow space that houses frozen pizzas perfectly! We love it! Now the pizza boxes don't get "squished" when someone puts heavier items on top of them. I like the divided sections in the refrigerator door. The only thing I don't like compared to our last refrigerator is that the "lunch meat/cheese" drawer sits lower than in our old fridge. I have to bend over to open it. Not a big deal if you don't have back problems.

This refrigerator doesn't have lots of fancy features (fewer things to go wrong/break down, in my opinion), but I love the design. It's very roomy and the top freezer is huge, compared to similar refrigerators I've had in the past. The fridge looks nice and has plenty of room for my water pitcher and a gallon of milk in the door shelf. Before buying this, i was considering buying a separate small chest freezer. No need for that now!

A good product. Reviews had a couple of negatives that proved true: it was “loud” and had no way to adjust the temperature for the freezer alone. These proved to be true, but not particularly bothersome. The freezer’s coldness is more than adequate and it’s not loud enough to wake me up, so who cares! Strangely my only objection is that it’s “short.” Which means the freezer is eye level and I have to bend down to see most of the food. Should be the other way around. But I’d buy it again due to its excellent operation and reliability for the money.

The color and appearance of this frig makes it really pretty to look at. I like the inside..its 21.9 cubic feet make it very spacious for 2 people so it will work for a small family. Needed the handles on the opposite side and they did the switch over with no problem. A light in the freezer would have been nice!

Love my new fridge

The new black fridge looks beautiful in my kitchen. There is ample room for food in both compartments and the storage in the door has several size accommodations. Would have rated it excellent had not one of the lights gone out the second week and there is a fine line of frost covering part of the perimeter of the freezer on the door line. Overall I am pleased to have this fridge which is just what I needed.

Other than the fact that it is quite loud while running and the interior light is not strong enough it is fine! Getting use to the areas I feel need work and actually did call about the interior light and was told the the LED light would get brighter as the time the door was open became longer. That is true but I do not keep the door open for long periods of time!

Top freezer works great and has good capacity. Bottom cold section is a bit warm at 48 degrees F. May have to call for service. Instructions are inadequate to assemble ourselves. Glad a photo was posted online by the manufacturer. Black looks a lot better than stainless steel in a working kitchen.

The bottom door shelf is shallower than the shelf above it which makes it harder to access items from the very bottom. Reaching underneath and items are harder to see than the wider shelf above it. I tried to switch the shelves but they are not interchangeable.

These are initial impressions after 1 week. 1) The shelves have limited configurations; There are NO split shelves - this means they are full width and you cannot have half-width shelves at different heights. The height options are limited. The top shelf is a little too high, which limits what can go there and makes you bend low to see what's stored there. The next shelf location is too low, which would eat up the middle shelf space. Lastly, the full-width shelves have no center support. If heavy things are put on the middle shelf, I worry about it bending/flexing. 2) It has a simple one-knob temperature setting for both freezer and refrigerator. This kinda sucks, as one may be too warm while the other too cold. 3) the door shelves are similarly limited in configurations. 4) The slate color is much nicer than I expected and does not show fingerprints. It is magnetic. The handle is not fingerprint resistant - no matter what you may have read. It does clean easier than expected though. 5) All drawers are nicely sized. The middle drawer slides left-right allowing personalizing position 6) the fan/blower is a bit louder than my last GE refrigerator. I would not say it is loud or intrusive. For most people, I think this is fine. I am very sensitive to all repetitive noises and wish it were a bit quieter.

Perfect fridge for me. Was replacing a GE side by side fridge that had lasted about 20 years. Lots of space. Temp stays regulated. Lots of features. Like the fact that it has a deli drawer and gallon size area on the side. Love that the side panels are enclosed and nothing will fall out. Lots of freezer space. It is a little louder than I’m used to for a fridge but it’s really not a big deal. Made a perfect purchase!

I am very happy with my GE refrigerator except for one minor issues. The meat/cheese compartment is small. Other than that, there is more than sufficient room on the door for items leaving the rest of the frig available for “whatever “ I may need it for. The freezer is a good size allowing for The meat I get in my monthly viSit to a meat farm.

I previously has a 16 yr old side by side refrigerator, this new GE is slighter bigger. It holds, if not more food products than my old one. I did not get the ice maker, as I feel they take up too much needed space and I would rather buy bagged ice than have the water come through a filtration system for city water. This GE came in the color, Bisque which I needed to match my other appliances. Very happy.

I love the fact that there is so much more room than in my previous side-by-side model. Temperature controls are a little wonky. The factory recommended setting does not meet its standard of 37° in the fridge and 0° in the freezer. I have it turned to max (5) and the items towards the front are now at 39° in the fridge but items towards the back tend to freeze, especially fruit.

There are a few things I would change however: glass shelf in freezer, shelves in refrigerator coming out further to utilize the space better (don't need as much room on door shelves)--this has been remarked upon previously, light in freezer, top shelf in fridge is not quite tall enough and not rung is too much--need something in between. It's very quiet. Was surprised at textured surface (not a bad thing, just was never disclosed). Can't really say how well this will work or last since I just recently (December) received.

Huge Freezer

I really wanted a side by side, but when your old fridge dies and you need a new one now, you take what’s available (appliance shortage due to pandemic). We have a GE stove that has been wonderful, so I wasn’t disappointed in the brand, but its ‘plainness’ Well, once I got it plugged in and started loading it up, I was no longer disappointed. I love the layout, the sliding deli drawer, the shelves in the door and a huge freezer. It holds 2-3x more than our old bottom mount freezer. I’m actually glad we got the one we did!

It's a beautiful unit. I am really satisfied with the color. The interior is roomy. Shelving adequate, of course takes some getting use to with any new appliance. The very bottom door shelf is nice for drinks. We didn't notice it until we had it a few days. The shelves above stick out farther and sort of hide it. The freezer is extremely roomy and simple. The only drawbacks are it could be a little quieter and the handles show every fingerprint. It's sleek and shiny but I'm a practical person.

This was a replacement for a GE Profile and their is no comparison to the one it replaced as the profile was a better model; with better features and was more sturdy. This replacement is a good price point for what you are receiving. It has worked well. Due to Covid you could not be picky with products as other models were out of stock and/or on long back orders. The only problem is the freezer does not have a light. The features are ok; as I said it is hard to compare to what it replace which had all the bells and whistles.

Operates quietly and the overall look is attractive. Apparently this is the new fingerprint resistant stainless, because this finish doesn't easily pick up prints or other marks. Cleans well with a damp cloth followed by dry buffer cloth. Keeps the food cold and the freezer keeps its contents frozen. Overall, a very good fridge. Put a light in the freezer, and I'll give fiv stars.

This particular model fit the bill beautifully.. I cook a lot and "creatively" so need room for my special condiments. This model has lots of door space. My only complaint is the door does not shut automatically. I have to be sure it's pushed hard enough. It's annoying...

I have only had my refrigerator for about three weeks, but so far I love it. I chose this one over a double or triple door for several reasons - size to fit in my kitchen being foremost. I prefer a top freezer, and this one is so big and spacious! The compartments in the door are very handy, and I'm learning to store my milk there ... the reach into the refrigerator itself is much deeper than I had before. I am enjoying the extra size of this 22 cu.ft. model over the 17cu.ft that I had. So far I like it very much.

I wish I had noticed it in the store before I purchased it. It was delivered it and set it up as I was in a hurry so my food did not spoil. I am to blame, but would not have gotten this particular model if I had paid attention.

I had to replace my 29 year old GE fridge and found this one. I was looking for a black one and did not have a lot of money to spend. This was a great price for the brand I wanted. I have found however it will take some getting used to as it is smaller than the one I had. I love the shelves and the arrangement of them. I love the freezer except for one thing that caught me off guard. There is NO light in the freezer. I have to turn on both my kitchen lights to be able to see in the freezer. I never heard of one without a light. But still like the product.

It's ok

It's okay, but doesn't compare with our last GE fridge which was 25 yrs old, had all kinds of compartments to store food. I already had to order another deli drawer. The one that comes with is not big enough. So one will be for deli meats and the other for deli cheese. In our other fridge there was a door drawer for fruit. Now we have to put a big bowl on a shelf to store the fruit, Butter drawer of door is not deep enough especially when you use the butter tubes. The one shelf that you could put gallon milk jugs in is not big enough. You have to cram them in there. Unfortunately our last GE fridge was a 24 cubic foot one and the new one is a 21.3. Because of the space where the fridge goes in, we couldn't get a side by side or french door model because of the kitchen cabinets. So we are stuck with a smaller model . Next size up and the only 24 cb ft model was a french door one. It runs quiet which is good. Didn't come with an ice maker. We did buy one separately when we purchased the fridge, but it is too small and would take forever making 12 cubes at a time. We took it back to the store. The one in our old fridge was much bigger and cranked out cubes like crazy.

My mistake for buying unseen. The depth of the top two shelves is too short for our taste. The shelves do no stick out as far as the lower two drawers which makes us have to constantly move stuff around and stack things on top of each other. The top freezer is very spacious. We were in a hurry for a refrigerator and didn't research. It also makes quite a bit of background noise.

Unfortunately ours was defective when it arrived. Repair had to come hookup a fan that was not connected, and we lost the food in the fridge section because it did not get cold for 4 days until it got fixed. Seems to be running ok now but we are hoping no permanent damage was done to it. Temp holding at or slightly below 40 now. Other than that it’s a nice setup inside. The vegetable bins are a little smaller than we were used to but the freezer is a nice size.

We had the last model GE fridge for about fifteen years, loved it. It looked pretty much like this one, stainless, black & big. It had a light in the freezer, nice, this one doesn't. It had a can holder that held a twelve pack out of the way of everything else, nice, this one doesn't. This one has a giant bin on the door that is right above a smaller bin making it hard to see what is in the the bottom bin and even harder to get things out of the bottom bin. This one is very noisy , sounds like a cheap microwave oven, but it is what it is, and it's not what the older model was. TOO BAD.

I am disappointed in this product. After having it for 3 months, we have noticed several problems. This refrigerator is louder and seems to run more often than normal fridges. My ice cream is consistently soft, despite turning the setting up to #4. The light in the fridge is dim with only one light bulb. There are also exposed hinges, screws and a hole at the top of the door.

Although the GE refrig maintains the ideal internal temperature, it runs constantly. The new frig is set in a wall area that is suppose to help decrease the sound of the motor. I have notice that this particular refrig did not come with a son's barrier on the motor panel. As much as a sound barrier would help, the refrig still runs nonstop. In turn there is very little break from hearing the motor running. Especially loud in a small kitchen. I have not noticed other refrigerators with this problem or my very old refrig that I had prior was quiet.

The GE fridge is well designed, looking nice and clean, the seals of the doors work amazing good- pulling the doors right in place and properly tight, keeping my products cool and fresh, efficient and simple to control the temperature without the need of going to the inside of the Frozen compartment. The STAR ENERGY feature is great. The texture white outside paint is bright and sturdy, making it easy for me to keep the fridge shiny and clean. I can still hear the low humming noise when the fridge is running. Wishing that GE will make the Fridge running noiseless while in operation.

My experience is the top and bottem doors do not align, there arent wheels so you scratch your floor everytime you move the fridge, when removing anything frozen and something else false out the lower fridge door gets a new dent as the food bounces off the cheap stainless. only the doors are stainless not the entire fridge, i thought i bought an entire stinless fridge so that is missleading, the fridge is louder than I would have expected. the freezer always unseals when you open the fridge door leaving me with a wet freezer too many times as items melted.and i paid a lot for this piece of junk. for me GE once again proved its a lower quality hardgood. oh and lastly one temp controller for both the fridge and freezer which if you think about it the frideg is either too cold or the freezer is too warm depending on the setting.

The top freezer door pops open all the time. It does not stay closed if it is closed too hard or soft. It also pops open if the bottom door is closed too hard. With teens in my house, even though they know to be careful, we have lost so much food due to freezer door being wide open all night long. There is also no light in the freezer.

Worst design ever

This is the worst refrigerator design I've ever seen. We love this old fashioned style of freezer on top, but have never seen one without a light in the freezer (we WERE aware of this before purchasing it, but found it odd). The big issue is the refrigerator design. I suppose they intended the user to put a lot of items on the door for easy access, because they had to compensate for the shelves taking up space in the refrigerator space by starting the shelves SO FAR BACK that you nearly have to sit down on a chair to get anything out! Literally, you have to bend over, then tuck yourself into the refrigerator and reach. This would not be an issue if you are under 4 feet. Now, let's talk about the door. There is a shelf at the very bottom of the door. What the purpose of this shelf is, is a mystery. Its teeny tiny and once again, tucked so far under the shelf above it, its impossible to get anything out of without standing on your head. So you begin to load up the other door shelves with condiments and even items like milk and OJ and tall bottles, because they give you room to do so. Well, then your refrigerator door won't close without a HUGE SLAM. We've made adjustments and more adjustments and it still swings wide open with all the weight on it, and when you go to close it, you can't unless you give it a real good heave, rattling everything on the door to kingdom come. The hinges are ugly silver metal. They didn't even attempt to make them nice. The light is so dim it barely lights the inside of the refrigerator. I'm a 66 year old woman and in all my years of refrigerating, I've never seen such a horrible design. My mistake for purchasing online.

Bought this model at the height of the pandemic as our old Kenmore finally bit the dust. Needed the specific size to fit a space. Disappointed in the lack of flexibility in shelf placement, door shelf not wide enough to hold two gallon containers of milk, and the ice maker is a joke. Even after a year of use the ice still has a plastic taste. The poor design of the automatic stopper results in it getting frozen in place - surprise, it never turns off the ice maker thus flowing over into the freezer compartment.

Shelves on the fridge, seem to not be sturdy. Door cover it, are not the same with. So you’re not able to see the bottom one, at all.

It works fine, but the fan blade seems too rattle quite a bit and causes an awful lot of noise. I can tell when the refrigerator comes on in the next room. Not what I would expect from something made in this day and age of technology. Should have rubber bushings to the noise down to a whisper.
