Best value ice maker out there and it does not require a drain!
Amazon · 5 out of 5 stars
This is a nice inexpensive compact ice maker that does not require a drain. The unit is an actual freezer with an ice maker similar to top freezer models found in kitchens. It can be installed under counter as it vents out the front. I reversed the door to open the other direction (not in the instructions but easy!). Looks pretty good. Super simple design. Super easy installation (1/4" water line and plug into an outlet). I installed an inline water filter to improve the ice quality. The unit started making ice within an hour and continued to make ice every hour afterwards. Ice shape is a descent sized half moon which doesn't melt as fast as other sizes/shapes. Fingers crossed that this lasts a long time.

UPDATE!! fast forward to March 2023. It recently just stopped making ice on me. It will make ice for several hours then the whole thing freezes and wont make anymore. Have to thaw it out and start it over. Very disappointed. I did purchase the extended warranty so we shall see how honorable they are when i contact them to come fix it. Fingers crossed. I will update on that as well.So now it wont make ice at all, even after thawing. I did purchase the 5 year warranty when I got the ice maker in 2019 for $72. Glad I did. Amazon sent me a gift card for the full cost of the ice maker that I paid in 2019 (minus taxes). So in all, with the $72 insurance, cost difference of old maker versus new and taxes, Im basically getting a new ice maker for $110, plus I purchased the new insurance and it was only $11 this time, but with Allstate and not Assurant. Hopefully they are as reliable. So far so good!!! Has been plugged in and on for over a month and its amazing! This thing puts out some ice and it's the good ice too. However, I do foresee having to defrost it maybe every 2 months or so. No biggie, just turn off and put a towel inside as mentioned in previous reviews. Mine is outside in the humidity too, Louisiana!

Customer photo 1Customer photo 2Door does not seal; replacement seals not correct.
Amazon · 1 out of 5 stars
This is a poorly designed/constructed ice machine, IMHO. The door does not seal at all. The ice maker functions OK, but frost/ice accumulates inside the unit around the door seal (a misnomer, for sure). When the unit arrived, the door seal was twisted / deformed near the hinge. I removed the seal, cleaned it, turned it 180 degrees, and remounted the seal to see if that would help. No change in the buildup of ice/frost inside the unit. The buildup is so quick that I have to unplug the unit and defrost it every week. The problem is the rubber seal itself. It is thin, does not conform well, and leaves gaps that allow the frost buildup. I certainly would not purchase this product again, and it provides doubt if I would buy this brand again.UPDATE 7/22/2023: I ordered a replacement seal for this unit. When THAT seal arrived, it was packaged in a box that was too small for the seal to remain flat. As a result, the new seal was badly deformed. I complained. I was immediately sent another seal, packaged in the same manner and equally deformed. The best part is that the seal(s) that were sent do not even fit the unit. After 6 years, the unit still makes ice, but I have no way to prevent LOTS of ice building up inside the unit. I would definitely not purchase this brand again.
