The Real Deal

FYI some of the other reviews are clearly for a different fridge. This does NOT have GE WIFI connect. First some background. We replaced a Side by Side, but the in-door ice-maker and water dispenser took up too much valuable real estate and the ice dispenser would constantly freeze up or have excessive frost. Also, we really wanted a french door as we felt they generally offer much more valuable space in the Fridge which is what need most. Enter french door with space saving internal water dispenser and ice maker and bin in bottom freezer. We just go it today so cannot comment on performance, other than it takes quite a while to reach desired temp (so far 5+ hours and still not there), this obviously is not a big deal, but align your expectations accordingly. This Fridge really delvers in terms of plenty of storage in the fridge (vs freezer). Specifically with LARGE and deep door bins, lots of shelf space. If your highest priority is more fridge space (again vs freezer) this is one of the better options, but also know the freezer layout will disappoint. We expected less freezer space as that is the trade-off we signed up for, however, the simplistic layout of freezer (one shallow and one deep bin each with a divider) will have you digging constantly to find what you are after as one other reviewer noted. One more slide out tray would be nice for organization... Also, the water dispenser is very difficult to operate. You have to push a button to operate and must use an unreasonable amount of force to push it. My 9 year old commented immediately and I quickly agreed. In summary we looked several other French Door Fridges that had in-door water and ice with less (deep) storage on bins that hang on doors. At this point I would still choose this fridge over others as the fridge space really does make a huge difference! If you are considering an upgrade, also note the LED lighting is really a HUGE upgrade from older models. Everything else seemed pretty standard, but I hope this helps.

The product is fine. I just don’t know why I have to contact you folks or why the water filter bypass plug wasn’t in a packaging or with the refrigerator since that that’s supposed to be with it by law as you can’t make someone buy filters to be able to use their refrigerator so the bypass water filter plug should’ve been with the unit and it was not

Perfect size.

I have wanted a counter depth refrigerator for some time now and I finally settled on the GE profile with French doors. I was worried about the capacity, but quickly realized that I didn’t need a deeper refrigerator where I could store expired products. The shelves are nice and the refrigerator lighting is excellent. It would be nice with the freezer. Space was a little bit larger, but that’s the sacrifice you make for the counter depth.

Have only had the refrigerator for about a month. So far, I have concerns about how long it takes to make ice, the amount of ice and it’s cooling ability. The unit doesn’t have a very big ice bin so we go through it quickly. The problem is it seems to take a while to make ice. Working on figuring out best place for milk and such. Love the look of the refrigerator and seems to have plenty of storage room.

So far as really good fridge. I struggle with the one long meat drawer as I have to open both fridge doors to open it. The water inside fridge is Really tough to access and although recommended to have inside fridge because of FL humidity...it isn't user friendly and they said the fridge shut down when getting water. It dispenses too slowly and hard on my hands. Otherwise we really like tge storage and space.

Roomy Interior

I am very happy with my GE Profile refrigerator. No bulky internal filters, lights or ice makers that get in the way of putting food anway inside. The top two door bins are big enough for three rows of condiments on both sides of doors. The whole fridge is just roomier. Love the space!

Great Counterdepth fridge.

This is my first brand new fridge and I LOVE it! Was worried the counter depth wouldn't have as much space but the shelves in the doors more then make up for it. It has just enough room for a large pizza box as long as it doesn't hit the shelves in the door. Lights are nice and bright, in fridge water dispenser is convenient, although i would like it better if the cup could trigger the water instead of a push button above. Ice machine keeps up with our ice needs fine. Very quiet as well, can't tell it is even running, unlike our previous one.

Great fridge - Amazaing Icemaker

When remodeling my kitchen I went from a 30" standard depth refrigerator to this 36" counter depth. I was a little worried about making the move to the counter depth but there was no need for worry. Pretty much everything that "lives" in the fridge (condiments, milk, juice, etc.) fit into the very deep door bins leaving the entire inside of the fridge open for everything else. The big test was a few weeks ago when I hosted a big party at my house. It took a little creativity, but all of the food was able to fit in the fridge. The biggest surprise was that I was able to fit two large Rubbermaid containers (11" x 16") on the top shelf without turning them sideways! The icemaker is also amazing! Our old one didn't really have an automatic shut off when the bin was full - or if it did it never worked right. We would constantly have ice falling through the back into the bottom compartment of the fridge whenever we opened the freezer drawer. Whenever we were going to be gone for a while I would have to manually shut off the ice maker or we would come home to find we couldn't even open the freezer drawer due to the buildup of ice. That was one of my biggest concerns when purchasing a new refrigerator and this GE has not disappointed me once! We were out of town for a week and left the ice maker on with no issues at all. The ice was at a perfect level when we returned with no overflow. The ice bin is a bit smaller than our previous one and my husband takes a lot of ice to work with him each day. I also work from home and using ice all day as well so we were concerned a little bit that it wouldn't keep up with our ice demand but so far so good - even during the hot summer months!

Our new home limited what size fridge we could purhcase. Given the options, this GE fridge was the best. So far, my partner and I love it. It's wasy to clean and keeps the food fresh. While we would have liked an external water dispenser, having it inside the fridge hasn't been an issue. It was a littel blessing in disguise to not have a bigger fridge: less food waste. I also really like that it's bright inside, makes it easy to see all you have.

One Major Drawback

The french doors are too hard to close. If you keep the alarm on it is constantly going off. Maybe the left door with flap more difficult but right door closes with no push back.

I’ve used the fridge for about 4 months and am pleased with it, overall. Cools well. Alerts when the door is left open. Only issue I’ve experienced is that the interior water dispenser is awkwardly placed and doesn’t seem very sturdy for the long-term. However, it’s holding up so far.

Would be better if the internal water could be filled by using your glass to hold down the "on" button. Awkward to press that and hold the glass.

Water dispenser button issues

This is a good fridge so far (45 days in). All the features, especially the ice maker, are in good working order. The only issue is the in-door water dispenser. The water spout is short and difficult to get a liquid container underneath so it won't spill. The water dispenser button takes my wife's full strength to depress. I am hoping that these features indicate structural sturdiness and a robust design but only time will tell.

Love love the size of the door shelves. They allow me to keep all my jars/containers organized thus allowing me to use the interior shelves for other things. So even though a counter depth frig has less cubic feet. It is well designed for maximum space. Also, I love having an ice maker in the freezer with lots of ice. Who wants an ice maker in the outside door taking up room inside the frig? Not me!!!

Best Counter Depth Model

We needed a counter depth model and this GE was the best. The shelving is adjustable so it allows you to store taller bottles and drink pitchers. We like the deli/cheese drawer as well. The freezer has enough space to store many items and the some shelf on the door is nice when you have small items so they will not get lost in the bottom of the freezer.

I love the refrigerator and appreciate the inside design and space as well as the fingerprint free surface. The only issue I have is that the pink plastic wrap that covered the whole appliance is still in all the nooks and crannies even after a valiant attempt by the delivery and installation folks who tried their best to remove it. I would like to take a sharp object and try to remove it myself but I do not want to scratch or damage this beautiful fridge!

After 3 weeks, I love this frig. It’s roomy ( without the ice and water dispenser on the door), has fantastic lighting. Freezer is smaller because of ice maker but adequate for my needs. Drawers are shallower, but door shelves make up for it and are spacious. Shel es are easily adjusted. I am very happy with my new frig!

We've only had this refrigerator about a month now. It's the perfect size for 2. A large family would probably need the larger size, but counter depth is perfect for our needs. The ability to easily adjust the shelves is very convenient. The door and drawer space is great and the interior water dispenser is great. The cooling is great and easy to adjust the temperature if needed. Energy efficiency remains to be seen....time will tell. Overall, a great machine.

Overall a very nice fridge, very flexible and streamlined. Seems to be built well. Streamlined looks and nice to have true independent controls for fridge and freezer. Unlike other fridges, does not stink of plastic which is great. Design issue: the water connection is in a strange place and at an angle where it is a poor design requiring either additional fittings (90) or bending the baffle as I had to (and delivery company also said they have to with the GE). Not a good design for installation and making sure cross thread does not occur. Other than that - seems like a good unit.

We've had the fridge about a month now, and we're quite happy with it. Although we replaced a refrigerator of the same size, this one feels much bigger. At first I was wary of the huge door bins, which make the shelves rather shallow. But the tons of condiments that we use only occasionally (and forget about) all fit in the door. My husband did cut some nonslip mat for those bins so that things wouldn't shift easily. The shelves are left for cans of seltzer, leftovers, eggs, and a few other things that we can see pretty well. It also seems to be working well, keeping temperatures steady. I'm glad we chose this mode.

Roomy and Sleek

I have been so happy with this refrigerator. My previous one was larger so I was concerned about losing space. I have repeatedly told my husband how surprised I am at how roomy it really is. I don’t feel like I’ve sacrificed any space and still have some room to spare. It is easy to see things and the door pockets are roomy. I also like the drop down a lot below the butter box.

This refrigerator was installed about a month ago. It is reasonably quiet and has nice features in both the refrigerator and freezer sections. It is a little deeper than our previous counter-depth refrigerator. Hence it protrudes a little more beyond the counter and is a little taller - not a problem for us. The only thing we did not like is the pale blue plastic protective wrap that covers the stainless steel. It is almost impossible to remove it all from where it is attached under the door gaskets and the owners' manual did not address removal. Small bits of this plastic show. Hence, I removed one star.

Love the deep door shelves

There are so many features I like. I got the icemaker in the freezer and its nice to always have loads of ice cubes. The door shelves are deep and can hold half gallon or gallon milk cartons. It saves from having to dig around in the back of the refrigerator looking for things. I also like the warning on the door if doors are left ajar. Lots of room and well-thought out interior making for a very convenient refrigerator.

So far, so good. We had a GE Profile previously and liked it. It had two drawers for the freezer portion, so I'm getting used to only having one, but I think the new one holds more. We did not want an outside ice/water dispenser. The ice maker puts out plenty and shuts off when the bin is full. The water dispenser in the side wall is a bit awkward, so we don't use it much. There are other GE designs that has the water in the door, but they didn't fit the space we have. I'd still recommend this unit.

We used to have GE Profile refrigerator for 17 years and have replace it with a new Profile. We like this refrigerator. More sophisticated than the previous model. Nice design. Bright light inside. Keeping a stable temperature in the main area and the freezer.

Not only does it look great but it holds a lot and you no longer take away from the space inside the fridge and freezer by having the water dispenser inside and the ice maker in one of the huge freezer compartments.

Hello…the Refrigerator is great except I’m going to have to have service come and check a few things. The icemaker seems to be taking forever to Make ice and the water dispenser also is very slow functioning. I’m wondering if the straw like tube that Dispenses the water is too small. Also I I would like service to check the clearance between the top of the fridge to upper cabinet. Can’t open the doors of the cabinet unless we open the fruit refrigerator. I put a call into service and they’ll be out in about two weeks.

We are very happy with our counter depth GE refrigerator. We are particularly happy to not have water or ice in the door any longer. This model has water inside and the ice drawer pulls out and continuously makes ice. The depth is particularly nice since it doesn't stick very far out from the countertops and provides a built-in look. We also like being able to raise one section of the shelves to store something taller when necessary. Now that it is just us at home, this refrigerator is the perfect size for us.n

I gave this four stars because of the water dispenser inside the refrigerator and the icemaker. The water dispenser is very hard to press and we probably won’t even use it because of that. Also, the icemaker gets ice all over the inside of the freezer not just in the container, other than that, I really really like my fridge

What an Upgrade!

Our last fridge was running OK but getting long in the tooth, so we decided to upgrade it before it failed. We got our desired door layout and the cabinet depth, but we are also so pleased with the interior lighting, the generous deli drawer, and the very adaptable door and interior shelving. We niw have a roomier, more functional appliance in a better footprint. The fit and finish are beautiful and luxurious, as well - LED side lighting, easy door operation, sharp brushed-steel finish, and easy cleaning. So pleased.

I’m very satisfied with this refrigerator. It has plenty of interior volume and has excellent lighting. The counter depth of the unit makes it fit well with the existing cabinetry and makes for easier access to the cabinet above it. The unit is quiet, too. The deli tray is roomy and offers flexibility for storage. The French doors provide easy access without projecting into the rest of the kitchen.

I've had the product less than 24 hours, but so for the refrigerator looks great and is working well. A small note to new owners. When the refrigerator was turned on, only the frig was cooling. The bottom freezer really didn't start cooling until the top fridge reached its 38 degree temp, which took about 7 hours.

The metallic gray color is great. Tired of the stainless steel. The LED lighting inside lights up everything from front to back. Loads of options inside with the adjustable shelves and the compartment in both doors. The deep freezer draw is so much nicer than the skinny side by side freeze that we had before.

The fridge works well and is quiet. LED lighting is fabulous. Drawers are ok, but a little small and clunk. Shelves are good, but not fancy. Biggest complaint is the water dispenser inside the fridge. The button is very hard to press, so it takes two hands (one to hold the glass and one (thumb) to press hard on the button) in order to get water. Badly designed.

Like the layout. Chose the Profile for quality and service reviews, plus the twin cooling system. But after 4 days the loud buzz, presumably of the compressor, is surprising. Hope it reduces soon. Also the fridge doors are heavy with no soft close, so beware if your hands have arthritis. An adjustment that I didn't expect.

The fridge looks great. The shelf of design is very smart, and the LED lighting is very helpful. The installers from Ferguson were very professional and helpful as well. The only reason this is not a five star review is the difficulty with the internal water dispenser. The button requires a lot of pressure to activate the water, which makes operation awkward and difficult.

5 star so far! Our LG was nothing but a nightmare. So glad to get this GE Profile! The layout is spacious with very efficient use of the door and internal space. The ice is in the freezer, the water dispenser is inside the fridge. The exterior has a nice clean look with out the water/ice dispenser. You also get more upper space this way! It feels very sturdy. The deli/meat/beverage drawer is on a metal slider, not your typical plastic fare that gets broke within the year.

Update to previous review; Everything works great on replacement refrigerator delivered yesterday, in time for a birthday celebration! Works as it should with plenty of ice, even after discarding first batch as directed! Guests raved about the sleek look of the doors. I went online and printed a few pages of the manual that explained different sounds the new appliance would make on startup. All is quiet now. Delivery team was excellent, they even made sure everything was level and doors even.

This is a really great fridge. It has a lot of space, lots of compartments and shelves and works like a dream. The only downside is that sometimes when you close the bottom freezer, the light shuts off without the freezer apparently being completely closed. Yes there is an alarm that will eventually go off, but if you’ve already left the room, you aren’t going to hear it. I’ve had to throw away food once due to this. Otherwise, works well.

Great lighting & space, water dispenser not great

Bought this as a replacement for a much-loved Amana fridge. I love the beautiful look of this French door fridge. I did not want an icemaker in the door because it takes away too much interior refrigerator space, but did want a water dispenser inside the refrigerator just like our previous Amana. This GE refrigerator offered just that - ice maker in the freezer section and an interior water dispenser. While I don't love opening up the refrigerator door every time we want filtered water, I did not want to give up interior refrigerator space to have it on the outside of the door. With that said, I now regret my decision. While this model has the interior water dispenser, it is not nearly as nice as the interior water dispenser in our Amana we were replacing. The water flow is significantly slower and it is not nearly as cold as our old one. It takes significantly more time to fill up a glass now to the point where I don't even use it often due to the reduced flow. I MISS my old dispenser! With that said, I love the lighting in this refrigerator - very bright and I find the interior space to be great, especially for a counter-depth refrigerator. I would give this 5 stars if it wasn't for the interior water dispenser's reduced flow and lack of water coldness (in comparison to our old one).

We swapped out our four-year old model of this fridge for a replacement because of faulty lighting that couldn't be fixed. Otherwise - and we mean this - it's a great appliance; we are especially happy with its large capacity, consistency, and dependability. Two small cautions: Anything that touches the back of the upper/fridge tends to freeze, and the ice in the back of the ice bin tends to stick together in a block if you don't immediately move the new pieces around.

First Impressions Are Quite Favorable

We've been enjoying this appliance for the grand total of one day so these are initial impressions only. The installation and set-up was very easy and the look of the exterior is quite nice. The french doors are lined up evenly and the freezer seals closed. The ice maker worked well, dropping out cubes after 5 hours or so. The morning after the installation found a nearly-full tray of ice. Glass shelves in the fridge are nice though the plastic in the doors and freezer section seem like they may require a gentle hand. There were no noticeable noises yet save for the clunk of the ice cubes falling into the bin. If the appliance operates this well for a reasonable number of years we will be extremely happy. I'll update this review in six months or so. Hopefully we will be as positive then as we are now.

So far, so good. However, it has only been installed for about a week. It is a "counter depth" appliance and I am loving that since it doesn't stick out as far and in my teeny tiny kitchen, that is a plus. There is a LOT of space for condiments in the door shelves making them easy to see. It feels like other items on the interior shelves will also not "get lost". When I unloaded the old fridge, I had two large open jars of olives and the same of sliced dill pickles. Who knew - I couldn't see them. So while the shelves are not as deep as the old fridge, there is also more cubic feet available in both the freezer area and the fridge. I also like that a gallon of milk fits in the door shelves. Rocky Start, Good Finish

This is a nice fridge. Much improvement over our previous workhorse. Having the fridge section above and the freezer below helps my wife's back, and we can easily see everything. It has kept the right temperature since day one. The water dispenser and ice maker both work well. Note that the ice maker makes some interesting sounds when you might not expect it. The interior water dispenser frees up a ton of space in the door. However, I have to take points away for GE quality control. Our fridge arrived with minor cosmetic flaws on the right hand door. The store we bought it from was good about getting another from GE. It showed up with two dings, so back it went. The second replacement was fine. And the freezer compartment did not close properly until I played with the support bolts. Since then, it's all been good.

The new GE profile French door refrigerator/freezer is a spacious and efficient upgrade over the 2012 model we had previously. The chilling system works nicely - no more freezing issues in the fridge section and it feels considerably roomier than the old model. Love it!

Love the lights inside. Love the temp adjustment on the door with the alarm if the door is held open too long. I love the internal ice maker and the little shelf for herbs, etc. I love that the outside is magnetic and very easy to keep clean. I have counter depth. I can’t lose stuff inside the back! Only thing I would change is the button to dispense water inside is a little difficult to push. I like that the water filter is on the side and not on the top inside.

1. This frig is supposed to be fingerprint resistent, but fingerprints are apparent and need to be wiped off, which is very disappointing. 2. I wish the frig doors would be heavy enough to close automatically without having to be shut. Even with product on the door shelves, the doors need to be physically shut completely and do not close otherwise. Plus the left door has to be pushed harder because of the design. 3. I wish there was a place for individual eggs.

We like it and it is roomy for the size, but it makes a vibration noise while it runs. With an open layout home it can get really annoying. it goes away when I push on the door, which makes no sense at all. Also, why they did not place the button for the water spout so you could push it with the glass to fill it, also makes no sense. You have to use two hands to fill your glass.

Recently replaced our 15 year old GE profile with a newer model profile. New one is ok but built flimsier than the old profile. Freezer door and trays squeak loudly when opened. Very annoying. When shopping for this one, every appliance store visited we were told we would not get 15 years out of the new one, maybe 10 years. We are not crazy about the interior layout and flimsy shelving but it's the only model that fit into the counter depth spot the old one occupied.

This looks great in our new kitchen and I love the french doors. It takes a little getting used to placing your items for maximum efficiency in both the refrigerator and the freezer. The warm gray finish is stunning in my "warm white" kitchen and the no-fingerprint finish is easy to keep looking good. I rated 4 stars only because using the water dispenser inside the fridge is a little difficult. You've really got to lean in to press and hold the small button while filling your glass or water bottle. Otherwise, we love it!

Love the look. Getting used to the actual feel of some of the physical properties - seal of doors very strong (good), bins not as sturdy feeling as some brands, nice that it doesn’t stick out much further than my counter but feel the sacrifice inside with more shallow shelves (less depth, less space). Nice temperature chime instead of annoying alarm. One shelf adjusts to 1/2 the width if need to use the space for tall items on shelf below. Deep door shelves nice. Didn’t think I’d like the lighting but now I’m used to it and find it nice that it’s upfront instead of in back up high. Even more interesting, light in freezer dims if open refrigerator at same time. Overall very nice. Keeps things cold & frozen as expected. Quiet.

I love this refrigerator. It’s so roomy inside. We realized the in-door ice and water maker were not something we needed. And removing that feature made the inside so much bigger and brighter. The ice in the bottom freezer is much better for us; a bit old school perhaps but actually quicker to get ice. I like the beverage drawer with its own temperature setting for beer, wine etc. The lighting inside is illuminating, but not overly bright. Was surprised at how that makes it easier to find things. The Controls are located in a smart place, accessible but also out of the way as you use the refrigerator. I wish it was less pricey, but we paid up hoping the quality of GE will allow this to be a 10 year frig for us. Obviously, I’m confident it will be that.

It's a nice looking fridge, love that the water dispenser is inside. The ice maker in the freezer offers more space in the fridge section. However, with it being only 3 months old, we are having issues with the ice maker. There is one section of the ice maker that continues to get jammed, creating loud noises/humming coming from freezer. This happens at least once a day.

It's ok

This is the second time I've owned this model. In between, I had an LG that I liked a lot better for a few reasons. I had this model GE in my home that I sold 2 years ago. I'd had it only a short time before selling, and had replaced a 15 year old fridge so this GE seemed like a good upgrade. But, in my home just prior to my newest home, I had an LG and can now compare features. This GE doesn't measure up to the LG. This GE has less room than the comparably sized counter depth LG. The shelves on the GE are quite shallow and you can't really fit much, especially if you slide the one shelf in to allow for tall container etc. There are a lot of "baskets" on the doors, but those aren't useful for packages; more for bottles and such. The water dispenser on this GE is a pain, both the location and the functionality. Unless you have large hands and can hold the cup and push the button to dispense the water, you need two hands which is very awkward in the small space. The LG has a button you push with your cup to dispense the water so only one hand is needed. Also, the water spout on this GE points nearly straight down, so good luck trying to fill anything other than a regular sized cup. You have to hug the container so close to the inside wall of the fridge and hope for the best. The LG spout was tilted out more to ensure the water got into your container, not all over the inside of your fridge. The freezer sliding basket is not deep enough to put in much of anything, and doesn't slide out completely when opening the freezer door. I get ice often so I always have to reach to pull out the sliding basket. The LG had double freezer drawers, so you could put things in the top drawer that you get often (ice, for me), leaving the other items in the bottom freezer drawer undisturbed. I do like the sliding shelf on the GE, allowing for storage of large/tall bottles or pitchers, etc. The LG didn't have that. The water filling the ice tray is pretty noisy on this GE, but not really bothersome for me since it doesn't run that often. It makes ice fast enough for me but I live alone. If you have a family and use ice often, it may not be enough for you. And the water filling noise might bug you. So far (less than 2 months of use), it seems to keep the temp fine and is relatively quiet. I have an open concept home with very tall ceilings and hard surface floors, so noises echo a bit but I don't notice the fridge running. I would have taken my LG with me when I sold my last home but my buyer wanted it. I thought I'd go back to the GE in this new home, but I'm sorry I did. It just doesn't measure up to the space and functionality of the LG.

Doesn’t make ice

First the good-It’s a good looking unit with great door storage and lighting. The bad- The inside water dispenser is not user friendly and not worth the trouble. Also my ice maker has never worked from day one. When you power up the fridge it makes one tray of ice. That’s it. If you unplug it and then power it up again, you can get another tray of ice. Just one. That’s it. Tech installed a new ice maker unit. It didn’t help. Still only makes one tray of ice.

We have had our refrigerator for about three weeks and it has performed nicely. During that time I can make two observations: number one this GE makes and excessive amount of noise. It can be heard in an adjacent living room. Number two, the water spout is, difficult to reach and activate unless using your right hand.

HUMMING NOISE

I have had this refrigerator since March 6th and the repairman has been here three times. There is a hum every so often and they cannot seem to figure out what it is. Last time he was here he put in a new fan, but that did not resolve the problem. I hope it is not something that will go wrong after the end the warranty period. This the reason I gave the rating three stars and for the following issue. I like the design of the refrigerator except for one feature. The water feature is inside our refrigerator, our last refrigerator (not a GE) had a pad the cup/glass push into. The button on this model is awkward when trying to fill a cup or glass. It is also high up on the side of the refrigerator making it hard to see if a cup/water bottle is full. This refrigator has tons of space and deep shelving on the doors.

Disappointed! I got rid of a problem Samsung to buy this fridge. I Love the design, but the water dispenser is so hard to press that it literally Is painful. It takes two hands to fill the water. The ice production is so slow That it takes three days to fill the bin. If you have a party, the ice will be gone in no time and will take days to refill.

After waiting two months for this beautiful refrigerator, We ended up refusing delivery after seeing the freezer drawer would not close. Operation of the drawer was wobbly as plastic teeth in cog wheels did not align properly. Went to a big box store to compare other manufacturers refrigerators.they are made much sturdier with metal rails. Will probably stick with GE Profile as I like the interior layout of refrigerator section with better customization of layout. Please have engineers redesign this, as I am not sure as the replacement (which is now back ordered) will be any better! Also, other companies make water dispenser that is more user friendly. Design team please make note of these suggestions. Thank you.

Defroster clogs up all the time :-(

EXCEPT for the design of the defroster drainage system, it works fine. However, every few weeks it is necessary to remove the ice buildup underneath the freezer drawer. It is a slab of perhaps ½" thick by 12" by 24". The defrost drain tube clogs up and does not send water to an evaporation pan. Instead it runs down the inside of the freezer area and builds up, until it runs out the front of the fridge onto the floor

Had the unit for 3 days now....Love the look.....but having some questions about function issues like seeing the actual temperature display (user manual says you can..but i cant seem to get it to show me)...there is constant condenstation/ice build in the top part of the freezer door as though there maybe some air gettting in.....not sure if the fresh food area is cooling properly ( placed a tempurature guage in the fridge and it never gets to the temputature on the digial dispay in the door).....so on a wait and see mode right now...

The refrigerator isn't what I expected it to be. The inside filtered water is often room temp instead of cold. I guess the refrigerator only stores a small amount of water to release as filtered. Not a good design. The way the French door close is not what I expected. To always remember to close the left side first is ridiculous. And lastly, the freezer door is finicky. We haven't had this refrigerator that long and I bet the freezer door has been ajar at least 4 times.

1. Interior space very good. Installation went well. 2. Required a service call quite early. Freezer keeps over icing up. Had service call. Yes, I have shut off the ice maker to control the icing issue. 3. Doors squeak when opening and closing. Has lessen recently. 4. Was making a noise when walking within two feet of the unit, would stop when I would step back. Recently stopped. 5. Alarm feature is helpful. A bit disappointed with these initial unit. Had a Amanda and never had a service call in 21 years.

This occurs on one side of the freezer door. Need to wipe up the moisture continuously. Love the slate color. Otherwise, the GE Profile is a great product. I wish it was perfect.

Had a mysterious freezer shut down/failure at 3 wks old & had to scramble to save foods. Miraculous return of function by the next am. Codes didn't identify the reason.

This is the 2nd time we've purchased this model. First one is in our primary home. This one is louder than our other one when in normal operation. We bought one of these two years ago and loved it. We just moved and needed to replace what what was there, so we got the same model. This one: 1) freezer drawer doesn't always close completely, leaving a 1/4"opening; 2) freezer drawer sounds and feels like something is going to pop occasionally when opening; 3) I think it's the ice maker that has a very loud water valve. A GE tech came and found nothing. We shall see, but so far not impressed.

The refrigerators internal temperature display does not work and it struggles to get to GE's recommended temperature setting in the refrigerator department. After being closed all night long and set at 34, it's luck to get to about 40 degrees - verified by a digital and an analog thermometer.

Initial Presentation Not Ideal

Upon delivery I was very disappointed that after paying as much as we did for the refrigerator that my wife and I have spent at least four hours cleaning the manufacturing grime, grease and adhesives from the unit. The biggest two complaints are that the protective film on the stainless steel is embedded under the molding and is not cerated to rip off cleanly. Instead there are remnants of plastic film that are too small to pull on and use of a knife or tool could damage the stainless surface. The second complaint is that the unit did not come with an owners manual. I would really appreciate if GE would address these issues before I can write a more positive review.

These appliances are too expensive for this type of quality issues. This is the exterior, makes me wonder how is the inside critical components made?

Fridge stopped working within a couple years of new; multiple parts needing to be replaced and when one part is replaced another one “blows” Taking weeks to get it back to working and costing more to fix vs replace. Very disappointed.

Ice maker quit working

Icemaker quit working. Part # wr02x13771 fill tube is what I need in order to fix it. Why did GE discontinue this part? This part is unavailable within 5 years of manufacturing and is a common part that fails? Crazy! Now I can’t fix ice maker. So I have to live with no ice or buy a new fridge. Have had problems with all my GE appliances purchased around 5 years ago. Won’t ever buy GE again.

Disappointed in the lost space due to the water dispenser. The vegetable/fruit and deli drawers are very short due to the water lines in the back of fridge. Not very big inside. The freezer is cheaply made

Hunk of Junk

This fridge has been a hunk of junk since we bought it. Thankfully we purchased a warranty. The compressors had to be replaced within a year of purchase. We woke up this morning and the fridge is not cooling. It’s 7 years old. Time for a new fridge and it definitely won’t be a GE.

Bad product line

I'm not a fan of this product line. I will be replacing the refrigerator with another brand. The ice maker doesn't freeze ice completely before it dumps. It leaks water from the bottom with the water turned off. The tray doesn't stay on track on the freezer when it opens and closes. I'm now unsatisfied with GE products. I will be replacing the dishwasher with the set for a 3rd time. That's a whole different issue... but it leaks water too.

The Profile GE refrigerator’s capacity isn’t sufficient for me. I have a Frigidaire model that is my backup in the garage and I have more space in that French door model. Also, the GE inside water dispenser is cumbersome to use.

Poor Cooling Performance

Our refrigerator has not properly cooled since day 1. At first, we just thought it didn't feel as cool as it should be, so we slowly moved the setting down over a few weeks until it was eventually at the lowest setting of 34 degrees. Still unhappy with the cooling, we decided to install a bluetooth thermometer. It shows that it runs at an average of 40 degrees. We verified it with a second different bluetooth thermometer; same result, actual temp is around 40 degrees. WE then had a warranty visit and the service tech noticed it didn't feel very cool but his diagnostic tool said it was running great at 34 degrees. It wasn't, but he couldn't do anything since his tool told him it was fine. We later concluded that whatever sensor that tool relies on in the refrigerator must be defective. We've had numerous occurences of spikes to nearly 50 and one to 65 WITH THE DOOR CLOSED FOR HOURS. We need to schedule another service call but we are frustrated that the diagnostic tool will tell the tech it's fine again.

TERRIBLE!!

I hate this refrigerator. The ice maker has quit working numerous times. Ice maker replaced..then some other water valve...now ice maker will not produce AGAIN. We are almost at a year and I have NEVER had a full ice bin. Have to ask my kids to bring ice when we have famiy together, because can't fill up three glasses with ice and then cant replentish what was taken. Did not have one round of ice dumped for almost 10 days....until service was scheduled and then decided to dump ONE little tray of 8 cubes, about 1/4 size of normal.

We purchased this refrigerator when we moved into our new house. Freezer just stopped working after 3.5 years. Luckily we had our 28 year old fridge (not GE) in the garage for backup. Very disappointed in quality. A one year warranty on a refrigerator is laughable.

Nothing but problems. Very loud. Bought the extended warranty and they keep coming out. Replaced fans. Ice make and water slowed down to a stop. They said need to replace the filter more. Just bought a new fill tee and now nothing comes out. Stay away from GE not a quality product like it used to be.

Nightmare

This Refrigerator has been nothing but a hassle from day one. the fresh food condenser gets iced up every couple months. I have replaced every piece that has to do with the defrost function and nothing has fixed the issue. the support from GE has been non existent. Researching has proved that the design of this fridge is very poor. Big surprise that GE no longer makes this model.

Water dispenser is a disaster

The water dispenser button is so hard to push. It takes all your force. A child could never work it. It takes 2 hands to fill water. It only makes 1 tray of ice every six hours. Takes 3 days to fill ice bin. If you have company ice bin will be empty. I’m so disappointed because I researched and waited 2 years to buy this refrigerator. Everything else is great as long as you don’t need plentiful ice or easy water.

Nothing but problems

I've had this refrigerator a little over a year. I had to get it serviced only 4 months in because it froze all my refrigerator food. Now, it's not refrigerating at all. The only way to keep my food cold is by using the turbo cool feature and stocking ice in the refrigerator. I thought GE was a reliable brand but this is ridiculous. Do not recommend.

This model is crap. The interior water dispenser is so hard to press you have to use a knife or a screwdriver to press the button to get water. The doors are hard to close and swing back at you if you don't push them hard enough to close. I hate it and want to replace it.

"DO NOT BUY". Handles are made of cheap plastic and will break with normal standard use after 2 - 3 years. My freezer handle broke first and then few months later my fridge door handle. See pictures. There is an existing recall for this issue but off course my model is not included even thought it was bought 3 years ago. These appliances are way too expensive to expect this kind of issue.

Bought at local appliance retailer. The refrig failed after 24 hours. Ruined all our frozen food. Retailer replaced with the same model. We were without a refrig for 4 days. I paid a premium for GE, but unit failed out of the box. Failed unit dripped light green oil on my floor from kitchen to front door. A large disappointment.

Broken freezer door with 3 weeks

First fridge we received had a dent in the door. We then had to wait 3 months for another. When we first received the fridge we noticed the freezer door had a little difficulty shutting. We assumed it was an adjustment period because it was brand new and had heard the seals needed time to adjust. 3 weeks in and we realize the freezer door was completely unable to close! 2 days of not being able to close the door causes everything to thaw and spoil. Trying to get someone from GE on the phone was close to impossible! Finally we got a tech to come out but we have to wait more than 2 weeks for the parts! I’m giving stars only because the upper fridge portion is very lovely and spacious. Other than that, this has been an incredibly frustrating situation.

I did not like the refrigerator top and bottom. The top surface or hood is not flat and has many grooves which would be fine as a built in. There is no floor panel/grate to affix to keep dust and small objects from rolling under it. I personally have never owned a refrigerator where this is missing. You can see the wheels from across the room. I did like the lighted drawers.

Horrible quality. Would not recommend this to anyone. The unit arrived with insulation coming out of the rear chill vent (fixed by GE). The rail system for the freezer drawer is a very poor design and thus the drawer is very wobbly. We had a tech out to replace the rails as the gears were not engaging the rails, but the tech indicated this was just designed this way. The whole drawer is wobbly. Also, the button for the water dispenser is not very user friendly since you have to reach fully into the refrigerator with both hands while holding the cup you are filling. For the price paid and the GE name, we would expect a much higher quality product.

Awful! Service has already had to come out 3 time in first 8 months to fix various issues, very concerned what will happen after warranty expires. Freezer drawer doesn't close easily, motor runs very loud (can hear in the next room!), hardly makes any ice. Would not recommend this refrigerator at all.

Nothing but trouble since we installed in our new kitchen remodel. Evaporator fan goes bad, replace it then the new one goes bad, replace it it never works. Probably a mother board issue. At the same time the Water will not dispense. Very disappointed in GE. We bought the microwave and stove matching set along with the refrigerator . Weeks after installation the microwave failed. Oven is average at best. Thought we were installing top end appliances… we were wrong.

Compressor failed within one year of purchasing this fridge. The replacement compressor, while working, is obnoxiously loud. It's so loud that it can be heard throughout the house. Would never recommend this product to anyone. I have had 2 techs come out to look at it, with their comment indicating this is something common and this noise is "normal." This is extremely disappointing, and I would have never purchased this had I known.

Condensation and sticky ice cubes

The continuing saga of this refrigerator and its short comings. Thought it was a temporary thing but sadly the condensation on the top of the freezer door gasket is constant. In addition, with the cold freezer air getting out moisture is getting in with an everything being frosted in the freezer and the ice cubes sticking. Very disappointing. Poor design. Awful product.

Doesn't stay cold

This refrigerator has never worked. It knows that it should be thirty eight degrees, but it doesn't seem to care. It will just warm up to room temperature and not even try to cool. If I reset it, it seems to remember that it's supposed to keep my food cold. However, i've reset it over forty times now.
