Our frig of choice

We build tiny houses in California. We have found this frig to provide the most usable space in a small footprint. It's a great buy.

Great for smaller kitchens! I've used this fridge freezer for the last four years. Plenty of space for a household of one. Great height for an added kitchen counter. And the price is great! Highly recommend.

The fridge arrive in perfect condition. The delivery guys were professional and made sure I was happy before they left. Took my time to peel off the plastic coating from the doors, but it all came off. The door seals are a bit tight and squeak when closing. Love the size of the fridge and freezer compartments. Holds everything one or two people need. No more empty shelves or wasted space!

Liked:1) Side by side refrigerator and freezer layout in a compact size is terrific for kitchenettes, small apartments, dorm rooms, garages, etc.2) Nice amount of interior space with adjustable shelves and door shelves for the fridge only (freezer has 3 shelves, non-movable).3) Simple exterior design.4) Interior fridge light that auto turns on/off when door is opened/closed (freezer has no light).5) Front legs can be adjusted up/down to help with leveling.6) Easy to unbox and remove from shipping container (open top, then one side, and rest of box just folds open).7) Startup is as easy as plug it in and set the temperature via a dial near the fridge interior light (about 5 is recommended for home/office).Dislikes:1) The clear protective film on the doors was near impossible to remove. The film was probably applied during manufacturing as it went under parts, thus making it impossible to remove without leaving stray bits still attached! See pictures. Very frustrating. Ideally, you could just leave it on, but various marks and stickers make it look ugly so you’re forced to remove it from the doors at least.2) Rear legs (left, center and right) are pure metal and will scratch the hell out of your wood floors as you try to slide the unit into place! Highly recommend adhering felt pads or something to protect your floors. Would be very easy for the company to design this better.3) Freezer does not have auto-defrost. You have to manually defrost every so often as excessive frost will build up.4) Interior of the fridge and freezer were really dirty! I expected it to be super clean, but had to wipe it all down. This was just another point of dissatisfaction and frustration after having to deal with the exterior protective film.Tips:- Manufacturer does recommend letting the unit stand for a few hours before you plug it in. A settling period is needed after transport.- Unit may be considered noisy for some (when it’s actively cooling), so be mindful if you plan to place the unit in a bedroom, dorm room, or anywhere you need silence.- The lowest priced unit looks great; not sure why you would spend an extra $400 to get the stainless steel version?

- Item arrived undamaged despite minimal box and cushioning. Adhesive plastic film coating entire exterior, and very, very difficult to cleanly remove. - Exterior finish shows fingerprints, doors hang evenly only when unit is perfectly level, door seals seem too thick not allowing doors to freely close, surprisingly quiet, interior clean and well lit, coolant runs through freezer shelving, top is textured plastic and seems to be a light work surface, easy access handles in door tops - Unidentifiable item left inside. Neither Avanti nor AJ Madison could identify the item. Unidentifiable item not mentioned in owners manual. Local refrigeration company identified item as uninstalled compressor cover/drip-tray. Once identified, item easily snapped onto top of compressor. - Owners manual very has little information. - Avanti customer service absolutely worthless; simply a vacant minded call center. - This item is what it is, and adequately fulfills the purpose of its design. That being said, it is clearly just another mass produced product with poor quality control.
