Side by side refrigerator/freezer I like all the features especially all the lighting. You can see all the contents on both sides, front and back. Installed easy, ice maker holds plenty of ice and makes ice quickly. Shelving removes easily for cleaning. Bins have plenty of room. Fingerprint-less stainless steel is nice and stays pretty clean. Overall I am pleased with my purchase and installation.

I recently purchased a new GE refrigerator, and I couldn’t be happier with it. From the moment it was installed, it’s been a total game-changer in my kitchen. The sleek design adds a modern touch, and the layout is incredibly well thought out—everything has its place, and there’s plenty of room for groceries, leftovers, and all the random snacks I pretend are “for guests.” The cooling performance is top-notch. Fruits and veggies stay crisp, and the freezer keeps everything perfectly frozen without any icy buildup. I especially love the built-in water and ice dispenser—it’s fast, reliable, and makes staying hydrated way more fun. It’s also surprisingly quiet. I barely notice it running, which is a huge plus compared to my old fridge that sounded like it was preparing for takeoff. GE really nailed it with this one. If you're in the market for a new fridge, I highly recommend giving this model a look. It’s stylish, efficient, and makes everyday life just a little bit easier.

Love the refrigerator but smaller inside. A 9x13 cannot be put in the long side front to back has to go in horizontal and takes up the whole shelf. Other than that love the refrigerator but smaller than expected.

Our new GE refrigerator is awesome, performing just as expected. We purchased GE because all the previous GE appliances we had lasted longer than any other. I was able to fire everything from my old one, with room leftover. The compartments are roomy enough for my needs. It has glass shelves, and runs very quietly. The ice and water feature in the door is a great time saver. The temperature is always just as it is set. We are enjoying each of the others, dishwasher, microwave, and electric range, as much as the fridge. Thanks GE!

Great layout of shelves and bins. This fridge is 4 cu smaller than our previous one, but due to the interior design, it holds almost as much. We keep this fridge upstairs in our laundry room and use it mostly for drinks, ice cream, and extra freezer space. Extremely pleased and highly recommend!

We had purchased a complete set of Fridgidaire appliances (stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator). After just 3 years, the refrigerator failed and needed a thousand dollar repair. After doing a lot of research, we opted to replace the Fridgidaire refrigerator with a GE. This was bar far the best decision regarding a major appliance we ever made. The GE has been very quiet, performs admirably in keeping things cold, and is more aesthetic in the kitchen. We are very pleased and would highly recommend GE appliances to everyone.

Sleek, easy to install. Ice maker compartment seems a little flimsy. See how long that lasts. Water filters are expensive. Lot of space, easier access to freezer stuff than our previous bottom drawer version. Don’t like that the rollers don't pull all the way up into the bottom. Had to remove them in order to sit level and steady in our fridge compartment.

Just had it installed today (Jan. 2025). The overall look is sleek and fingerprints don’t show up as easy as typical stainless. The refrigerator side door has several adjustment heights for the shelves. The top half of the door shelves are wider and deeper to hold drinks, gallons of milk, ect. The bottom shelves are not deep, but will do great at holding bottles or condiments. They can also be adjusted a little to a different height. This particular refrigerator is Counter Depth. It seems like it will still hold plenty with room to spare. The freezer door has a couple of small pocket type shelves because of the ice maker. The ice maker is at the top of the freezer and will hold a lot of ice. The freezer shelves are a good size to hold (medium) frozen pizzas, ice cream, ect. There are 2 basket shelves at the bottom of the freezer. Will be easy to get anything out and not have to “dig” like we did with a bottom half freezer before. The only thing I wish it had was an air filter. I can use baking soda instead, so it should be fine. Also, The water filter is easy to access.

So far so good. We’ve had this refrigerator for about a month. The refrigerator portion of it is a little smaller than our previous GE fridge, but the freezer portion is a little bit bigger so overall this refrigerator feels spacious enough for our family of four. We like the ice maker and dispenser with crushed ice option. The recessed ice and water panel (which lights up) is attractive and prevents extra splashing. The stainless surface is easier to clean than our last stainless fridge was. It holds its temperature well. It is a couple of inches narrower than our previous fridge which looked like a custom built in in its alcove. This fridge does have a slight gap on either side which doesn’t look quite as custom in the space, but it still looks nice overall. My suggestion is to measure twice because even if it technically fits in the space you want to be sure the fit is precisely what you want. This is true with all major appliance purchases, not specific to this particular fridge.

I’ve only had the refrigerator for 3 months, but during that time everything has been great. It has all of the things that I wanted, water and ice dispenser on the door, fingerprint resistant finish and it’s a shallow counter depth model. It has a nice sleek profile. I was a little hesitant after some of the reviews mentioned it was “noisy” but I haven’t had that issue. It is slightly smaller than my previous model, but for two people it is more than adequate. If you have a large family and keep your fridge and freezer stocked, you may want to view this model in person to make sure it meets your needs, but once again, for 2 people this is great. My only complaint, be it a small one, is that the external water and ice dispenser opening is less wide than my previous refrigerator (I like to fill my dog’s water bowl with the filtered water and used to just put the bowl in the opening, now I have to fill a glass and put it into the bowl. Not the end of the world). So yes, I recommend this refrigerator

[Employee of ge_appliances] After using FD refrigeration for the past several year, we opted to go back to side by side to meet the needs of our family. Organization is huge and this fridge offers a ton of space for a counter depth unit. We love the ability to have so many different levels we can set the shelves. The bin spaces in both fridge and freezer are more than enough. The LED lighting makes it extremely simple to see all your food items, especially those in the back. Finally, the height of the fridge and color make it easy the perfect focal point of our kitchen. We love it.

Great product. Looks good sitting in its alcove. Almost looks like a custom install. Efficient space layout as possible for a side by side. Doors are solid and shut and seal nicely. Stainless color is good and matches other appliances. Not easily smudged with fingerprints. This replaced a 20 year old Profile at almost 1/3 of the cost and functions just as good. Lighting is awesome. Overall excellent purchase. Took hours to clean adhesive off the surfaces after pulling off the protective plastic. Owners manual says there are rear levelers but there is not. Must go online to retrieve basic installation directions.

Great side by side refrigerator. It's fantastic that it has a door alarm, so we can be sure that they aren't left open for too long, which happens often in my house. Also, the option of different buttons for ice and water, thus avoiding confusion. And the interior illumination is excellent, you really can see everything inside and looks great.

Can locate food easily

We decided on this refrigerator mainly because it is counter-depth which we absolutely love!!! We became tired of bending down and looking deep into our old refrigerator for food that we could not locate LOL. We also love that there is plenty of lighting inside including on the freezer side. The dispenser is working well as this is our first refrigerator with a dispenser. The stainless steel finish is so sharp looking in our newly-remodeled kitchen.

I wish I'd seen this in person before buying. I don't particularly like the curved front. The style doesn't look good in my kitchen and seems to reduce storage capacity. Although the dimensions are supposedly the same as my last refrigerator, I seem to have less useable space. Not really impressed so far, but it's working fine.

This refrigerator is the perfect size for my kitchen and my use. The water and ice in the door are a new feature for me. My last refrigerator was over 25 years old and did not have this. It is nice to always have ice ready and not have to fill ice cube trays that usually would spill as I put them in the freezer. Being a side-by-side unit, it is easier to see just what I have in the freezer without having to move items around or forget what is in there in the back or under other items. I can control the temperature of either side without having to even open the doors.

This was a housewarming gift and I love the number of shelves on the refrigerator side; however the freezer side is a bit small. The shelves on the door were a little difficult to pop in but I made it work after breaking one. I love the water and ice dispenser although I would take more space over the dispenser.

Temperature control and shelving are great

Only had the refrigerator for 2 weeks but so far, I love it. The ice maker does a full cycle/completion within 12 hrs, and it is fairly quiet. Of course, when the ice maker is making ice, or when the compressor turns on, it is louder naturally but when the fridge is idle, it barely makes any noise at all. I do like the capacity as well as all the adjustable shelves. The freezer compartment is a little smaller than the Kenmore that I replaced, but that was by choice as I could have chosen a bigger capacity refrigerator. The lights are very bright, and the temperature seems spot on.

I decided to take my older GE fridge and put it in the garage to replace a dead fridge. I only wish the NEW fridge was just a little bigger. My previous GE fridge is just a little bit bigger. But, I will survive.

The unit is simple but classy. The ice maker is a bit noisy when started. Otherwise, controls are simple and plenty of room to store food.

We replaced our old favorite with this model. Love the look, the no fingerprint and the side by side. The old one had more depth and space so this will take some getting used to. Tried to adjust the temp. but the instructions aren't helpful. We will see how this GE compares to our old Kenmore.

Not giving 5 stars because I just got it. But first impressions are good. Inside is very bright. If you are coming from a larger fridge then the space inside will feel tighter obviously. I was able to fit everything that was in my normal size Samsung french door into the GE, and the GE isn’t a huge, ugly, hulking appliance the samgsung was. And it makes ICE. Not the bad racist ICE currently terrorizing people here, actually ice in the door. You hear that Samsung?

The water dispenser is my least favorite feature. It is too shallow for most water bottles and the water flow is too slow. The reason I purchased it was to give me more space in the kitchen. That problem was solved, the temperature is consistent, it’s relatively quiet, stainless is free of streaking, has ann anlarm so if you don’t close it you anre anlerted, energy saving, etc. This is an adequate refrigerator for 1-2 people but not ample for a large family.

We absolutely love our new refrigerator. It looks so sleek on the outside and inside. The shelves are sturdy and look so clear and fresh. The lights are the best I have ever seen in a fridge. It runs smoothly and the ice and water system is smooth and efficient. The temperature is maintained consistently and we like how we can see it on the outside of the freezer door. We previously had a GE side-by-side that served us well for 20 years, and this one fit perfectly into the same space. The compartments and shelves are very roomy and very well designed, with lots of room for tall articles. We went grocery shopping and found that the food capacity accommodated everything we bought with lots of space to spare. It is energy efficient and runs quietly. An excellent purchase; we are so happy with every aspect of it.

Overall it's a great product. Had issues with stopping it from rolling forward but jury rigged something to work. Fits quite a bit, the lighting is much better than the previous model I had. Drawers kind fo flimsy. Ice maker works very fast, however it sometimes overfills and becomes aggressive when dispensing and drops ice cubes inside the freezer section

I can say that this is our 2nd purchase of the same product as the first one was delivered incomplete (kind of). Three days after, we have our very own GE refrigerator that fits very well in our new home. It looks basic but comes with ice maker and water dispenser (filtered water). It is easy to use with that straightforward panel. My wife and I knew that this will be our choice for our new house as we've tested this before from our rented house. It is simple yet reliable. ❤️

The last Whirlpool fridge that I had was a lemon and lasted only 3 years. The new GE refrigerator is quiet. I selected counter depth and it looks fantastic. The space inside the refrigerator and freezer are just right, and there is plenty of shelves and they are adjustable which makes it easy to fulfill our needs. The water and ice work well, it freezes food quickly and keeps food in the fridge cold. The fridge is energy proficient.

This fridge was a replacement for a similar 2013 GE counter depth. The flush mount led lighting is very nice, temperature control is very constant and the placement of the ice maker with the small shelf on top is an improvement. Best of all the fridge is very quiet. We are a small family so the capacity is sufficient. I do miss the can storage rack which was in our previous model.

Was a choice between another brand refrigerator (starts w/a "W") and this GE side by side refrigerator. After careful inspection decided on this GE. Other brand had wide gaps where outer refrigerator box mates w/inner box (area where door gasket seals). GE seams were tight w/no gaps. Very well constructed. Had problems in the past where warm air leaked out of wide gap seams (other "W" brand) causing condensation & water leaking. No such problem w/GE. Very happy w/GE purchase. Lastly, GE door gasket magnetic seal is stronger than other brands making for tighter, more air tight seal. No more lost, leaking, cold air w/GE.

This unit replaced a 27 year old GE Profile. I can only hope it last half that long. Installers commented the old unit they carried away easily weighted 100 lbs. more than the one they installed. First observations (24 hrs after install). PROS: (1) Unit is reasonably quiet while running, (2) Internal Lighting is very good, (3) Exterior color (Gray) works well in a kitchen with a lot of gray themes, (3) Storage drawers in refrigerator side are a must and a big reason for the selection on this style. CONS: (1) Unit Not available WITHOUT door ice/water dispenser .... give me the space you keep the dispensers ... :)

Beautiful. It replaced a 15 year old GE fridge and it’s the same size but seems larger- and much quieter. Only reason one star is missing is because the instructions said to set temp and hit “Enter”, there is no enter button. When I called they said once you set it, the temp should regulate to what you want. It’s great to have a deli drawer but the ice capacity is smaller than the older models. It’s well lit and the door shelves are adjustable. Install was quick and easy.

Very happy with this one so far. We have other old GE refrigerator for over 20 years and we never have any issues with during that time until now. So we want to replace old one with the same GE refrigerator just newer model. Hope that will work for the same number of years.

Has lots of shelf adjustability. This is a counter depth, which is working out very well for us.. the other advantage of counter depth is you don’t have stuff so far back that you miss it. in an odd way it helps. Keep you better organized like the product very much. Hope we have good luck..

Have had this almost 2 months now. So far, am quite satisfied. As with other reviews it can get quite loud when it is trying to be cold, but it isn't an issue for me as it is far away from the bedroom. The inside space is a bit awkward in some locations due to the curves especially on the top shelf. Water dispenser is quite shallow and it is mostly fine for 12 oz glasses, but anything taller and it won't fit. The fridge door feels less weighted down and it will swing open all the way once opened a little bit. I hope the hinge is strong because I can see if the door is too heavy, it may malfunction later on due to wear and tear.

I received my new refrigerator today and I am very happy with it overall. I have a door alarm which is great and this refrigerator replaces my 20 yr kitchenaid so I will be putting this one to the test. I do prefer grid basket vs plastic.

The refrigerator door swings out too easily and hits the end of its range of motion in a way that is unnerving in comparison to other refrigerators. I tilted the refrigerator so that it leans to the left which helped this a little, but it doesn't entirely improve the situation.

I purchased this refrigerator, in part, because it had a similar configuration to my old one. While it is very similar, it came with a number of new really cool features. For instance, the glass shelves in the refrigerator slide out a couple of inches, but there is a lock on the side so that they don't slide too far. The LED lights are located at the front of the refrigerator, giving brighter illumination. I now have two baskets in the freezer compartment rather than just one. The outside is also very sleek-looking. Further, it reached the set freezer and fridge temperatures in just 10 hours. One additional narrower door shelf in the refrigerator would help maximize door space, so I am about to order that now. So far, I am exceedingly pleased with my purchase.

I do have an issue with this one and it is this constant hum, hum, hum... it's driving me crazy, the service man said it's the condenser and that is what they do now... totally bummed, that sound makes me crazy.

Replaced a GE Profile Artica refrigerator I had for 21 years. It's nice to have a shiny new refrigerator with pretty much the same features and for half the cost of what I paid for the other one 21 years ago. The only thing I miss is the beverage rack in the inside top of the door. I have had good luck with all of my GE appliances, and I hope the trend continues.

So far so good. I've had this refrigerator for about two months now. I bout this to replace an extremely noisy Whirlpool. This one is very quiet but does make some noise I guess when making ice. Overall I'm happy with the size, the look and performance thus far. It may be on the small size for larger families though but perfect for me and my family of three. I would give five stars if I had it longer but too soon to rave as excellent.

After 48 hours, side by side meets expectations

The side by side is as described. The interior is laid out well to maximize a smaller space (counter depth). I chose this model, because it has 3 drawers in the refrigerator, and many other makes/models do not. However, the plastic drawers do not slide as easily as I expected. The ice dispenser quickly puts out ice. The water dispenser is slow. One frustration is how labor intensive it was to untape, unwrap and install the shelves. For the price, it is five stars.

Why can't it be leveled?!!!

So far mediocre. It is not even possible to level the side-by-side refrigerator front-to-rear! (Model GZS22xxxxx.) Only the front rollers can be adjusted up and down, but even with them completely down, the lower front protrudes 1 1/4" further out than the top! This model doesn't have adjustable rear wheels. our floor is level as is our cabinetry. The unit works well and for that I am pleased. The LED lighting is great. There is more interior space than our 2004 36" wide model had.

Bottom shelfs on refrigerator side door are very narrow, can hardly get a small jar of jelly in the shelf. The temperature doesn't seem to held within the guidelines of normal refrigeration 35 -38. The LCD temperature readout on the control panel says 35 and 0 even if you have been opening the door frequently. Supposedly the stainless steel is supposed to be fingerprint resistant, but people moving it leaves marks where their hands touched the door.

pros: bright inside lighting, attractive looking from the outside. cons: very loud, you can barely pull out the drawers in the freezer or they fall right out, there is not a lot of freezer space. smudge and finger prints easily, water from the spout drips out and runs down leaving streaks. this fridge is larger than my old fridge (18cu ft) but I feel like this one has less space. overall I'm not a huge fan and wish I had picked something else.

It looks pretty and functions nice. I like the look and finish and the price was good. The external ice was a mandatory feature and works well although water temp much lower than old fridge. The major problem is that the refrigerator door isn't designed to open wide enough to open the drawers or get shelves out to adjust. I immediately called the installer and they showed how to basically use 2 people to achieve a result. Not a good design. Also the bottom freezer drawer and refrigerator drawers are 1/2 depth. Very deceiving. I'm limited in choices due to space so consider this model acceptable but disappointing.

This GE refrigerator cools and freezes fine. I find the capacity lacking, but I guess I should have looked for a bigger counter depth fridge. My problem with the product is the ice maker. It's terrible. It makes ice fine. The problem with it is that it does not shut down as the drawer becomes full. When you pull the drawer, ice spills throughout the freezer. When you put the drawer back in, the mechanical arm underneath does automatically slide into the mating receptacle and you must stick your hand underneath the drawer and physically move the arm until it slides into place. Foreign engineering and manufacturing sucks. Bring this back to America.

Just got it installed. The delivery and installation was great. The guys were wonderful. I haven't had a chance to use the refrigerator yet so I can't give a review based on the function of the refrigerator. I can say that water is leaking from the water feature and I hope that's because it's new and will work itself out. Otherwise it can be a big problem if it continues and overflows onto the floor. A lot of the inside is cheaper plastic and not as strong as our older GE that we replaced. Time will tell.

Nice fridge except that it can't be properly leveled as the wheels at the back are NOT adjustable on ours according to the installers. The front rollers are adjustable but even at their lowest setting the fridge tips back which is quite visible from the side.

This is the third/fourth refrigerator in three weeks. Keeps dripping from the water spout. Was installed by the company I purchased it from. Hopefully, this will be my only issue. Also has a high pitch humming sound, which I hope is vibrating products inside the refrigerator. Did not have that with the last two.

We bought this fridge in 2020 which I realize is now 6 years old, but during that time span I've had to fix it numerous times. Always the defrost system in the freezer. First the temperature sensor, then it worked great for a year until the heating element went out, and later the thermostat. Every single time I have to move all the stuff into my ugly, decades old garage freezer that can still actually freeze stuff somehow while I work on my awful stupid new freezer. I only wish I lived closer to a cliff so I could push it over the edge. Update: the dishwasher we bought as part of the same set just started with an error H20 immediately as the cycle starts. I've never been this disappointed with appliances in my life. Learn from my mistake and spend the money on a more reputable brand like Bosch or Kitchen Aid

Be aware that GE provides a 1 week warranty on "surface defects". Six months after my purchase, the fingerprint resistance coating has failed on the freezer side. It comes off when I clean using products recommended in the Operating Manual. There are also rust spots. When I try to clean the rust spots per the Operating Manual instructions, more of the coating comes off. My six month old refrigerator looks 15+ years old. I am told Quality Product Engineers are reviewing photos of my freezer door. They have provided no information as to how I am supposed to clean my refrigerator in the mean time. Nor have they provided a timeframe when I will receive a response.

This fridge has horrible circulation and our food keeps going bad. I hate this fridge and can’t wait to get another one. Also the filters are so expensive and you can’t buy a no brand one because they put a chip in the filter so they only work with the name brand one. Not worth it. I would say keep looking at others

My husband and I were completing a home renovation and decided to leave the plastic on the fridge for a layer of protection. The fridge was kept in a climate controlled environment. When the home project was finished, I decided to gently peel the plastic off of the fridge to complete the installation. THE FINISH DISAPPEARED OFF THE FRIDGE IN JUST A COUPLE GENTLE PULLS. Take this as a warning. It does not say to pull off plastic ASAP, but now that I’m left with a brand new DAMAGED fridge, I wish someone would have told me. There is nothing they will do to repair this manufacturers issue. I am VERY dissatisfied. I bought this in a bundled that included a microwave, oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator. The finish is fine on all products besides my refrigerator. Take this from someone whose kitchen is complete and now has to live with this eyesore called my refrigerator. DONT DO IT!! (Or if you do, pull plastic off immediately!!!!)

The refrigerator is cheap. Shelves broken, lights need replacement in freezer and the ice maker is possessed and shoots ice all over the place when it is not clogged. Only had this for 4 years and I have had refrigerators for 3x long that have never come across these issues. The space is terrible as well.

Absurd Freezer Shelf Design

My one-star rating addresses freezer shelves ONLY. I can't figure out who would've designed shelves with such a large opening between the bottom of the shelf and the clear plastic that's supposed to hold food from falling out. There's about a 2" gap and most of my frozen food falls out! I know cost cutting was an issue, but common sense few out the window in the design engineering department on this model!

I HATE IT! I had trouble removing the shelves because the door seemed to be aligned too far to the left, so they couldn't be removed without hitting the door. Apparently, you must apply pressure on the door to get it PAST its normal range to remove them. It's not easy to get a shelf out while holding a door. When removing them, they WILL scratch your door. IT CANNOT BE PREVENTED. Imagine damage to an appliance you have owned for less than a week! The ice maker makes a mess inside the freezer. And three shelves in the fridge just isn't enough for me.

Reduced Capacity & No Manual

Our 18 year old GE 25 cf Side-by-Side Refrigerator died so we had to buy a new one. The new 25 cf GE Side-by-Side won't fit our cabinets and kitchen layout, so we bought the 21.8 cf Side-by-Side. The new 21.8 cf refrigerator has almost exactly the same outside dimensions (an inch or two shorter), but obviously less capacity. The new machine is louder that our 25 cf machine. Also, it is ridiculous and unacceptable that GE does not provide a hardcopy Owner's Manual, which I am told by "GE Cares" is only available online. So when we sell the house, we cannot provide a manual to the new owner.

Refrigerator makes a loud humming noise when running. Called GE for a repair within warranty - they sent repair person - he said "this is how this model works the compressor makes a loud noise when its running". I called GE again they said there is nothing they can do if the rest of the unit works properly - which it does. However, it is unacceptable to have to listen to the loud noise even if it works properly. It was brand new. So we are likely throwing this one out. Do not buy this cheaply made refrigerator.

A Big Disappointment

I’m quite disappointed with this refrigerator for several reasons: Poorly Designed Door Compartments: The door bins are made of thin, flimsy plastic and are poorly designed. The overhanging lips reduce usable space, making the compartments appear more spacious than they actually are. Limited Interior Capacity: While the refrigerator is taller, the lack of depth significantly limits storage. The added height doesn’t make up for the shallow interior. For example, I can no longer fit a standard sheet pan that easily fit in my previous fridge. Lack of Stability: The entire unit feels unstable. It noticeably jiggles when the door is closed, which raises concerns about its overall sturdiness and build quality.

It’s a decent appliance, however it seems the freezer does not seal well. Condensation freezes on the walls. The crushed ice does not work. The accumulating drip of water is as I have to wipe it out several times a day. This may just be a lemon but I wouldn’t recommend this particular unit. FYI, this was part of a package provided by the builder. I didn’t choose these myself.

Ice maker is horrible. It does not produce much ice, is extremely slow to dispense it, and most of the time cannot even fill a normal sized glass. We have consistent trouble and have had to have it replaced once in the 2.5 months that we’ve had it but the replacement didn’t work either. I hate this refrigerator.

Well it's been about 2 years since we bought this fridge , honestly it was great looking and working well for the first two years , unfortunately now it's starting to give us problems , this morning we noticed that the fridge side the lights are very dim and seems like it is not as cold as usual , funny thing is that the freezer side lights are working bright plus so far it's still keeping things frozen , but it just happened and it's hard to tell. Unfortunately if we have to replace the fridge , just going to buy the typical basic top freezer and bottom fridge style no fancy items , crazy how it is just two years old , talk about environmentally friendly appliances , sorry for the rant
