    So I've defrosted this freezer twice in my 5 years of ownership. Only builds up on the top section. It's quiet, works great and very easy to move during defrost, which was a breeze. All my purchases in Amazon (over 200), this is one of my best buys, only problem, like most things it cost a lot more these days. Photo taken during defrost.

  2. Convenient little freezer

    Handy little freezer. I love the additional space to store food and, the fact that it takes up minimal floor space. However, be aware that you must defrost these type freezers on a regular basis. Mine formed a layer of frost within the first 30 days of receiving it and plugging it in. Not so happy about that. However, it is convenient. I have it in my laundry/utility room, so sound is not an issue. I cannot hear it behind a closed door.

  3. Reliable for a long time

    I bought a similar Danby upright freezer (discontinued model now) over 8 years ago. It still runs great. It's been on my back patio all that time (Denver area), outdoors but with a roof over it, on a table about 2 feet off the floor. It has never had a problem. I'd not heard of the brand before, but as my other freezer, a different brand's chest freezer, can't cool stuff anymore after just 5 years, I'm looking at Danby models to replace it.

    It work very well, It is my second one. First one last ten years. The only problem is that this freezer was damage likely at the manufacture since the box was intact, no sign of box damage. It do not affect the work of the freezer, only the look
