Bought this refrigerator 4 months ago as a scratch and dent. Works great. No bells snd whistles to go wrong. Yay!!! No complaints. Plenty of space in frig and freezer. Keeps cold. Doors seal great. Not a noisy running frig.

Adequate for my needs

Bought this as an extra fridge for basement. Does not keep freezer cold enough at recommended temperature, Had to raise to highest setting and still does not get below 7degrees. Refrigerator section works fine at recommended so far. No light in freezer compartment but this is a base model.

I am very pleased with the our new refrigerator/freezer. When I close the refrigerator door it seals to the body of the refrigerator very nicely. The noise is low when it runs and the freezer keeps the items frozen consistently.. I really like the sliding vegetable and fruit bins. They really open and close smoothly.

We just moved in our new mobile home and we have Whirlpool appliances. The refrigerator is nice and seems to be working great. I like the design and very happy it is a textured surface, we are used to a side by side with ice and water in the front of appliance and will upgrade to one when this one no longer is working.

Two pluses, One negative

This is a secondary refrigerator for me. I like the generous size of the freezer. The refrigerator has a nice layout for large items like party cakes and a watermelon, and nice drawer space. The downside, and in my opinion it's a large downside, is the door shelving in the refrigerator. Shelves are not adjustable. Too many shelves result in only a very small area can hold bottles (beer, pop, water, etc.). That is disappointing. Pleased overall, except for the refrigerator door design.

My old (1983 model) basement fridge quit working. This new fridge was reasonably priced and keeps my beer nice and cold. It also has clear shelves and drawers that make it easy to see what extras we have stored in the drawers. My wife and I are actually "waiting" to see the next utility bill figuring it will also be a bit lower!!

It changed the relationship of sizes, but I'm getting used to it and like all but one thing. It does not provide enough tall spaces for wine bottles. There is space for milk and juices but the wine has to lie down on the bottom shelf. I have to keep a towel under it.

It's taking some time to get used to this refridgerator as it is a lot smaller than my previous. I like the ease of adjusting temperature settings, knowing if a door is open and the various compartments. I will be needing to downsize the size of my containers, but that is a good thing. Adjusting to empty nest and needing less is an adventure.

This is my backup refrigerator. I bought it because mine stopped working a week before Thanksgiving. I bought it online from a company I use for appliances. Was I surprised to see how nice the interior of the refrigerator was. Multi shelf option and moveable meat compartment. The size of the fixed compartments are perfect.

Seems like a solid item. Performing as advertised. Does have an electronic temp control and hopefully that will be as reliable as the mechanical ones common in this grade refrigerator/freezer. Why I bought it: Whirlpool refrigerators are the most reliable brand. I use these exclusively in my rental business and my home.

Good basic refrigerator

We use this fridge as a secondary fridge. We keep it in the garage for extra food and drink storage. It was set on the third “snowflake” temperature, but we found that the ice cream was soft at that temp. We have set it on the fourth “snowflake”, but the ice cream still isn't real hard. I hope this doesn't indicate an issue down the road, hence only 4 stars.

We purchased this refrigerator for our shop and it is a fine product. It took just under 24 hours for it to come up to full temperature for safely refrigerate/freeze food. It's a very basic model, no frills, and we chose white so that it would clean up easily. Good value for the money.

I purchased this model a month ago. I needed to have the handles moved to the other side. When the repair people started the task they discovered that one of the screws they needed to remove had the head broken off. They told me to use the refrigerator until the replacement arrived. We did so and are very pleased with the performance. The light in the refrigerator illuminates the space very well. I expect many years of worry free service. The interior is well designed with adjustable shelves to allow individual users to adjust to their needs. We are very happy with our purchase and the honesty that let us replace the refrigerator.

Basic Refrigerator that does good job

My refrigerator died and I needed to get one that was about the same size. The store that I went to did not have one of these in stock for me to see, but it was the only model that we could get fairly quickly. So far it seems to be working fine. We had an ice maker installed and the directions for that are confusing and I'm not sure if it is working properly so that's why only 4 stars. Time will tell but so far no other complaints and it is very quiet. We did get it for a very reasonable price too.

I've had this frig. For about 3 weeks, freezer was on top, I should have gotten one like my old one freezer bottom, anyway works fine but when the freezer was on defrost cycle it was very loud. Other than that it was fine.

Our previous refrigerator ( same exact make / model etc... ) was 20 years old. It was still working fine but we thought it wise to replace it. Compared to previous model, we have noted two things - a) the new one is much noisier than the old one and the interior spacing of the new refrigerator is not as functional / efficient as the previous model.

My Second Whirlpool Refrigerator

I bought this as a replacement for my 10 year old Whirlpool. My kitchen space is limited & my apartment has small doorways; this is the only size that fits. Product is okay. I do have some issues with the door & shelf configuration. I now have less space then my previous Whirlpool. Also the temperature settings on the refrigerator portion are in the way. Last but not least, the company placed two labels, including a QR code on the left inside that are very distracting. Minor issue but still annoying. They should be on the cover of the manual instead.

Condensation & ice inside the refrigerator

The refrigerator had an issue when it was first powered on. The gasket/seal on the hinge side of the fridge did not make contact with the inside of the door which was causing condensation and ice to form on the inside back and inside top. I was told this is a common problem with new refrigerators. The problem was resolved once the repair person fixed the seal.

My 30 inch Top Freezer Whirlpool Refrigerator is a fantastic basic refrigerator. It has the classic top freezer compartment. I’ve had mine now for about three weeks now and it’s been a good kitchen appliance.

I am happy with my new refrigerator but there is only one thing that I dislike, but that may be just because I was used to my old refrigerator. The handles to the trays are at the bottom of the tray instead of at the top. I always grab the top and find I have to bend over more now in order to reach the tray handle. Other than that, the refrigerator is perfect and I am sure that eventually, I will get used to these changes also.

This is my second refrigerator like this one. Only difference it is a newer model. I was told these are really good refrigerators and this is the only reason I am trying it again. My first one was trouble after the first year. Did not freeze and if you turned the temp cooler it froze everything in the bottom and still did not freeze in the freezer. Hoping this one does me better. Trusting the people we bought this from.

Replacing my 28 (!) year old GE that finally bit the dust. Due to limited space, this was the only comparable (18 cu.ft.) refrigerator that would fit. Love the sliding drawer, very quiet, and seems roomier even though same cubic ft. Cons: Door will not hold a gallon size milk jug and the temperature settings are preset ranges....can't adjust manually to fine tune. Would have given it 5 stars but let's see how long this one lasts.

We are both 75 now.....and our old refrigerator just went out. We did not want to spend a lot of money....we did not want whistles and bells and immediate ice cubes or ice water....we just wanted a roomy freezer, lots of organizing shelves and door storage....and we got exactly what we needed and wanted in this refrigerator. It is smaller in cubic feet than our previous one, but because the shelves go WALL TO WALL, and they are all so very adjustable, we TRULY have MORE SPACE than before. Good Job, Whirlpool !!!!!!

Our old refrig was 17 and making an awful noise, since did not want to waste $ on a repair for one this old, we decided to buy new. The brand name has always been reliable so this is what we did. I no longer have an extra shelf in the freezer section and it is closer to the floor than the other one, but seems to be fine.

Can't say too much about it yet too soon. So far so good. I can say I don't like that the light switch is right on the side when you open up the door since my door is right side. After filling the fridge with groceries, would prefer the veggie fruit crispers be the standard size. These are very small. I do like meat drawer and especially that it can be moved left to right to center. I do like the simplicity of this refrigerator. That's why I chose it. I don't want any water dispensers or ice makers. Those are just more things that break easily lines that get clogged up. I I like that it has smooth straight lines. It'll be easy to clean, not a lot of nooks and crannies. That's great. I hope Whirlpool is keeping up with the traditional name of good quality as it used to be.

I wish I could give this fridge six stars. Extremely quiet and although it’s only 18 cubic feet the freezer and inside of the fridge seem much larger. Lots of room in both. Love all the shelves on the side door of the fridge. We keep this fridge in the garage / we live in Florida and did not need a “Garage Ready” fridge. I highly recommend this appliance.

Bought to replace 7 year old Whirlpool that was showing signs of failure like very high condensation in refrigerator. The new one looks almost identical to the older model. The front controls are changed from a rotary dial to push buttons (better). The balance control is still at the back of the freezer and still requires clearing a path to reach the control (same). The door shelves are different heights and the rails don't have enough room for a gallon of milk (worse). We made a modified shelf rail to accommodate the width of a gallon jug but it's still necessary to tip a jug sideways to get it onto the shelf and behind the rail.

I purchase this about a week ago and so far, it runs quietly, and everything seems to be cold enough. The only issue I have is that when I open the fridge door, I hear a thunk noise. Was told by Whirlpool to contact the store in which I purchased the fridge. They came out and said that there was nothing wrong and no need to worry about.

I am enjoying the refrigerator. It serves its purpose.I wanted a stainless steel finish and was attracted to the claim that it resists fingerprints and smudges. This is not the case. There are no little kids constantly using it and the surface is smeared and difficult to clean. On the upside, I like the spacious interior and the flex-slide bin.

This refrigerator keeps my food cold and fresh, however I have had a few problems. The first problem I experienced was that the vent in the ceiling of the refrigerator would drip water at random times leaving a puddle on the top shelf of the refrigerator itself. Then somehow a puddle would form in the bottom of the freezer and freeze over and turn into a huge sheet of ice. I don't know if these two problems are related. Also, the gasket on the top of the refrigerator door is loose and comes off when I open the door.

While I like the design and overall functionality of this refrigerator, I’m not happy with the high pitched “whine” it makes while the fan (or something) is running. Today I contacted Whirlpool service and a repairman is set up for 10/20 to hopefully fix this issue. I wish it could be sooner. I live in a studio apartment and the noise is loud enough to disturb my sleep at times.

Delivered 1 week ago today. Took 4 days to get the temperature stabilized, but I blame the funky new digital temp controls. With the old rotary controls, you could turn it up a little or down a little and tweak it till it is just right. Now there is no fine tuning. Thank you progress. Overall, it keeps the beer cold and the meat frozen. Too bad it won't but 5 or 6 years. The one I just had to replace was 29 years old.

I have an appointment scheduled for a technician to come out, which I was told WILL be billable, even with the extended warranty I purchased, if what I believe are issues are within "range of normal". The compressor seems to run a lot, the decibel level, the pitch, when it's running hurts my ears. Also, neither the refrigerator or freezer seem to maintain a constant degree of cool. I owned an Amana refrigerator for over 26 years, needing it serviced once! This Whirlpool is such a disappointment in quality.

I bought this whirlpool fridge because I have owned a whirlpool dishwasher for 7 years now and it's still running like new. Unfortunately, I find this fridge is very noisy and the compressor seems to run differently from other fridges I have owned. It does keep everything very cold and I like the sliding meat holder, but I hope it's not going to be a future problem with the compressor. I did purchase the 3 year extended warranty, so I should be covered.

I purchased a basic white refrigerator to replace my old, working refrigerator. The new model has a few features that are either missing or don't work well for me. For one, there is no freezer light. I would think that in a new model, that would be standard. The drawers in the refrigerator are flimsy and feel cheap. The butter compartment is very small. The bottom shelf on the door is not designed to hold anything remotely tall, such as a soda bottle or a bottle of salad dressing. I liked my old Maytag refrigerator much better. It was 30 years old and still working. I wish there was some way to try a refrigerator out at home before purchasing. I just hope the drawers don't crack or break.

I really like the size of my new refrigerator but I really hate that it is set right at 40 degrees. I would prefer it to be at 37 or 38. 40 is considered safe I know but if I open it quickly to get something out it fluctuates to 42 so quickly. I keep thermostats on each shelf in the refrigerator & I just don’t feel this is safe. I spent my money so I have to live with it but I’m not happy about the set temperature. I wish I could change it.

I chose a Whirlpool refrigerator because I thought it was a superior brand. However, I am a bit disappointed in some of the features, or lack thereof. For one, there is no light in the freezer. My very old Maytag refrigerator had a light in the freezer so I assumed this new model would have one. I am surprised and disappointed that it does not. Also, the bar on the bottom shelf of the door is not high enough to hold bottles of soda, so they fall over and crash against the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. This is also surprising to discover in a new model. Thirdly, the butter compartment isn’t quite large enough for my two butter containers, which used to fit in my old Maytag. Finally, the bar on the freezer door is too shallow to keep certain items from falling out. The entire appliance feels cheap, and I’m afraid parts will break. Frankly, I wish I had my old fridge back.

I was putting a dish in and my elbow grazed the plastic pieces that gets pushed in to turn the light on and the flimsy plastic broke and a spring popped out. Move the location or make the piece more robust.

Bought the fridge in April of this year and the "stainless steel" already is rusting by August. Ill attach pictures. The best part is, its not covered in the warranty! Why they would use such poor quality materials I have no idea. We also have a dishwasher that is whirlpool and who knows how old (probably at least 5 years old) with no rust at all. So I am assuming whirlpool knows its materials are low quality so thats why they have it as not covered. Never even wiped it down with anything because we dont have kids or animals that would smudge it up. 2 stars because it actually works.

New refrigerator installed 9/23/25 just after a few days. Noticed freezer not freezing items as it should. Contractor came yesterday and confirmed evaporator fan defective. Needs to be replaced. He did say that that's unusual for a refrigerator this new. I'm now fearful that other parts will become defective after the warranty is up. Very disappointed with this Whirlpool appliance

The Ice Maker did not work. A tech came to my home and supposedly fixed it. It now makes a few cubes and fills the cube holder with water which freezes. Original wait ton the phone time for an operator was 55 minutes. Still waiting on the phone for over 40 minutes mow for an operator to request another service call.

Freezer does not adequately keep all items cold. Ice cream is always soft. Bought a thermometer, and the freezer alternates between just below zero and 10°. After a service call, engineer stated freezer packed too full. However, from the start it did not work right even when half empty. And why have a freezer if you cannot fill it up? Removed some items and made sure better air flow, and ice cream still soft.

I bought this refrigerator thinking that, being a Whirlpool (I own 10 other WP appliances), it would not only have all the features that I needed but also last a long time. Unfortunately it was a piece of garbage whose compressor went out ONE MONTH AFTER THE VERY SHORT WARRANTY EXPIRED. I do not recommend this model.

Terrible Refrigerator

Ordered on Nov 12th, received on Dec 16th! Absolutely nothing but problems from the start. The unit ran and ran and would not shut off. Many calls later still various problems. Was told I did not report within 48 hours which is just not true!! Long story short, after shutting it down overnight on a Fri, the following morning it started to cool properly when started again. The problem I now have is how long will it cool ????????????? Frig sucks!! A new unit should never have such problems. Am now stuck with a flawed NEW unit.

The freezer does not reach 0°F or colder—the refrigerator hovers near 40. There is no light in the freezer, making it hard for short people to see what's inside. It hums too loudly when running. The salesman told me that Amana, which is the brand I sought, no longer manufactures refrigerators. But I saw a few Amanas in a big-box store. He added that Amana, Whirlpool, and Maytag are alike. Hmm. My older Amana lasted 30 years.

Poor engineering. The cooling is in the freezer only and it shares the cold to the refrigerator portion by means of an adjustable vent. The system doesn’t work. For example, the freezer does not freeze hard ice cream while the refrigerator portion is at 38 degrees. I tried adjusting the shutter but no luck.

Delivered on 10/30/25 and immediately noticed a loud noise not normal for this refrigerator (have purchased many in past as I was a building maintenance technician for a HUD complex for 24 years) The first repair was done on 11/7/25 with replacing the cooling fan (did not work) Next repair 11/26/25 with me providing a recording of the noise At that time he said that he felt it was the coolant running through the lines and he could not fix it He provided a case number and asked me to follow up with Whirlpool This refrigerator is only 5 weeks old and sounding like a Keurig coffee maker at the end of brew is not exceptable for it being new but whirlpool feels it is performing properly If this product was performing as designed it would not be this noisy sounding like a hunk of junk This was bought and paid for as new, it needs to be replace ! I wish I could post a recording of the sound of this refrigerator sounding like it's falling apart ! You would surely cringe!

I find previous reviews capture my issue (issues!) -- Difficulty balancing temperatures: Users report a recurring challenge in finding a setting where the freezer is cold enough (e.g., ice cream is not soft) without the refrigerator section becoming too cold or freezing food. -- Inconsistent temperature swings: The refrigerator experiences significant fluctuations in temperature, making it difficult to maintain stable conditions in either compartment. I was kind, rating is 1.5 or lower. Not recommended!

Bought this unit “brand new” from an appliance store, days one made weird noise by freezer; fridge worked fine randomly got too cold had to put on lowest setting. Freezer just wouldn’t cut it would get to like 5 degrees once a day then I’d check the temp throughout the day and it was like 30 degrees in the freezer! That’s not gonna work then whirlpool send a repair company out and he deemed it irreparable? Help! Now I have to get a smaller unit or whatever they have

I bought this a month ago--- and wished I had spent more time looking at others...it really is basic... one more shelf on the door would be so useful, it has just 3-- so a very tall space above the single one.... I know I did not pay for a lot of features, but considered returning it... instead, I bought some roll out metal trays and installed them with velcro-- what an improvement.. otherwise it is just a big box--- and with the top freezer, you have to get very low to see and reach things on bottom shelf--- with roll out trays it is ok...

I can't get the shelves like I want because I have several large, tall beverage containers--one water. The fridge at two years old started freezing things. A tomato, my asian vegetables in a bowl not covered, and I just discovered ice in the bottom of the beverage container of Tang. What is sad is I saved for this fridge beginning when my other 15 yo whirlpool started behaving exactly like this one and then the old one started leaking water from the freezer pipes somewhere and for months, I caught the water with a pan and emptied if every two days. I expect this fridge to start dripping water next. I am disappointed and not taking this problem to the dealer-- I'll go elsewhere when I save the money.

This fridge replaced a 27 year old Kenmore. All I can say is they don't make things like they used to. I can actually feel the cold on the outside of the refrigerator. And I called for a service call after a week because the freezer has large temp swings from -5 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. The tech said the thermometers I am using are not that accurate. He recommended the quarter trick in top of a frozen glass of water. But that would only show if my fridge was losing total cooling power. I'm just concerned my food is thawing and freezing over and over. Apparently the thermostat for this fridge is only in the refrigerator compartment. So there is nothing to measure the temp in the freezer. What kind of engineer thought this was a good idea. If you can find a fridge with separate controls for freezer and refrigerator buy that one instead.
