Love this refrig. One the few you can get without an ice maker which I do not use and do not want. Fits everything I need and all shelves are totally adjustable. I hated my last refrig because nothing would fit in it. This one makes me happy.

Amana 33 inch wide Freezer Refrigerator Dependabil

We have owned an Amana 33 inch wide bottom freezer refridgerator for over 25 years and it was always dependable through the years keeping food cool and frozen foods frozen. The design inside made it easy for cleaning when needed. The condensor recently went on it and it is now out of commision. We are now looking to get another Amana 33 inch wide bottom freezer refrigerator because of the dependability we had on the one we had. We hope to find the right sale for our senior budget. We highly recommend this Amana product for dependability!!!

Sleek, beautiful, great capacity, quiet

I was so happy to finally get rid of the refrigerator that came with my home eight years ago. I took my time shopping for the right replacement watching for sales and reviews that matched my list of requirements. This model gets a five star rating from me! The shelves are sturdy and easy to rearrange. The unit is quiet; much quieter than the one it replaced. And it doesn’t have the nasty, dusty coil on the back. The capacity is definitely an upgrade, especially the door. It is well lit and the shelves are easy to clean. Temps have been consistent. Having the freezer on the bottom makes it much easier to see the contents of the more often accessed refrigerator area. Delivery was efficient and the two gentlemen who did the installation didn’t even complain when they had to take the doors off of the refrigerator to fit it through the entry. We are very pleased with this purchase!

Wow! A Beautiful refidgerator! Love the black Textured sides and Shine in the front. A very sharp look. So much space, adjustable shelves, easy to use tempature control and great lighting. I love it! I have always had top freezer. I love the bottom freezer. It has two separate pullout shelves. The lighting in freezer is great as well. I am so happy with this refrigerator. I highly recommend.

Roomy fridge.

I purchased this fridge a month ago and could not be more pleased. It is hard enough to find a fridge for a small space, but to find one with this much roominess is nothing short of spectacular. I was a little concerned about the freezer being on the bottom, it my fears were fruitless. I love the pull out drawer. It is so convenient with the sliding baskets. Finding your frozen food is a breeze. Thanks Amana for making such a roomy fridge for small spaces.

New Refrigerator

This refrigerator is nice and spacious. Shelves in unit and door have several placement options to choose from. Freezer is also spacious and easy to use. The biggest problem was getting the icemaker installed since it doesn't come already included. It was quite a hassle to get someone to put it in. Must ask for contractors from the store to install it. Not the people actually working for the store. Icemaker works well and we are happy with this product.

I love everything about this frig. The freezer at the bottom is so convenient. Has 2 drawers. Refrigerator is so roomy and the door has so many bins. I can move bins and shelves in a lot of different position. The guys who delivered the frig. We're very helpful. Took all their he packing out and tape everywhere off Made sure there were no dents. And made sure we were happy where they put it. Everything went so smooth

2l years ago we bought his same Amana frig was it had to be just the right size as it was built in. Fortunately, when we needed a new frig, we looked up Amana and guess what. The exact same frig was available. I am so pleased with the new one. it keeps the strawberries perfect for days, th interior looks so bright and sparkly I like that the freezer controls have been moved to the top of the frig. I occasionally would overload the freezer and the dial would accidentally get moved.

Great with a few issues.

This is our second refrigerator of this model. We owned our first one for 29 years. There are several things that are not top quality. The vegetable drawers at the bottom just fall out of the tracks when you pull them open. The other drawer in the fridge doesn’t close or hang correctly .

PERFECT ALL OVER AGAIN

I purchased a replacement for a 28 yr old AMANA of similar design and hope it will serve me as long. The design changed from a freezer door on the bottom to a drawer in this new model and I am getting used to it but think its a an easier reach. The refrigerator portion is large with almost the same options; we found it very versatile/adaptable to our needs. I can easily adjust shelves for holiday roasts and storage containers. The model is lighter it weight than the previous but very happy overall.

A LONGTIME GEM

It was a sad moment when I had to replace our 27 yr old Amana bottom freezer refrigerator. So very thankful I was able to replace it with a model that’s almost identical and look forward to another 27 yr run. This model has a freezer drawer instead of a door which is probably an improvement. My hope is that this refrigerator which is much quieter than the first, will occasionally make some of those old familiar sounds we grew to love and were explained in the manual. It was installed within 15 minutes and up and cooling 100% in the timeframe mentioned in the instructions. So happy.

Purchased April 2025/now September 2025. I hate French Door refrigerators-when my home flooded-glad to see it go. After 6 months of research-decided on a 2 door freezer on bottom Amana. My kitchen is small & my contractor cut the 6" studs behind the refridgator to 3" (not load bearing wall) as I needed the extra depth to fit this fridge. PROs 1) Very large & roomy. 2) No water dispenser or ice maker to break. (I did not want either one) 3) Light inside is very bright 4) Tons of door storage 5) Very Quiet 6) Keeps things cool. (No freezing of things in the back like my son's Samsung fridge does) 7) Love the butter holder - never had one before. Very convenient. 8) Love the fact that the area behind the glass shelves is too narrow for stuff to fall down into 9) I had a contractor build a 7" tall platform on casters & he set this Amana fridge on it. I can easily reach to the back of the top glass shelf despite being on a platform & I love it. (Just in case that 100 year flood happens again-my fridge will be safe up off the ground). It rolls out for easy cleaning & he put a white wood skirt on front so can't see casters. CONs 1) Wire freezer basket - I wish it were a plastic tub in the freezer 2) Solid door bins - I like the clear door bins in Whirlpool fridges better & I wish I had the option to have them in my Amana. (I don't trust Whirlpool fridges enough to buy their bottom freezer/as it had rust issues etc) (Yes Amana is owned by Whirlpool but after a terrible Whirlpool dishwasher I will never own another Whirlpool product itself product). 3) The vegetable bin drawers do not roll easily in and out & are smaller than expected but I noticed that in dozens of refridgerators I looked at - and heard the same complaint in thousands of reviews across many makes/models I just put apples etc on the glass shelf above vegetable bins if I buy too many fruits/vegetables. They seem to last just as long there.

A good basic quiet refrigerator

I wanted a bottom freezer refrigerator WITHOUT an ice maker or water dispenser in white. I’m so happy to find one with Amanda. The refrigerator is quiet and works great. I do wish that just because an appliance is basic in function, there would be more care taken to give us customers sturdy drawers, and better sliding mechanisms. The drawers are very cheaply made and do not slide easily. The freezer could have been better engineered as well. I am fine with this unit, but would very deeply appreciate a better quality interior.

Doesn't measure up to our old Amana

Wish our 20+year old Amana didn't die. This new one is quieter, but the drawers are much flimsier, no egg tray, no liners in the door bins, no clear door bins to see jars better, no pull-out shelf. It's almost the exact same outside dimensions as the old one, but almost 3 cubic feet smaller. If that means it's better insulated, that's fine.

My old Amana fridge was 23 years old and finally gave up. Only one minor service call in all those years. I still liked the basic layout and large freezer space so I bought another one just like it. The old one was good to me through all the family years. New LED lighting is far superior to the old lighting. Digital temp gauges. Nice upgrades in that way. Hoping for many years with the new one.

I have had this Amana Bottom freezer refrigerator for 4 months and have really appreciated how convenient it is to not have to bend down and crawl around looking everyday to find what is in the refrigerator. It makes so much more sense to have the freezer on the bottom as we are in the refrigerator much more often than the freezer. I have had other brand name bottom freezer refrigerators in the past but I think Amana is superior to them! Also it runs very quiet compared to others I have had. Excellent quality product!

I've owned Amana refrigerators for over 25 years. The newest one I purchased about a month ago, and it's sleek and spacious. My only complaint is that the vegetable and fruit bins tend to stick a bit when being pulled out and pushed back in. Otherwise, good value and good looks.

My children bought this for me a month ago and I just love it. The refrigerator on the top is easily accessible and it’s nice not to have to bend over to see what’s in the bins. I can see everything as soon as I open the door. The freezer on the bottom has two levels and gives me so much room. Setting the temperatures is so easy because the dials are right In plain view in the refrigerator top front.

I am overall happy with my purchase, except for one thing. The crisper drawers. They feel cheaply made. They hang up when closing don't slide well. Also, I have to pay attention, or they will not shut all the way. I have to shift them in order to get them to shut as they should. Manufactured defect, I don't know. Thought of trying some type of lubricant.

“No Frills” refrigerator/freezer

I bought this about 2 mos ago. This is my second Amanda refrigerator. I had one that was almost identical to this one and had it 17 yrs! I live in a 70 year house and needed a specific size in order to fit the space. This is a “ no frills” model which was just what I wanted. Plenty large interior and the freezer is spacious. I’m very happy that Amanda chose to continue this great appliance.

There is an enormous amount of space in the fridge. Nice. There is hardly any *functional* space in the freezer. My old freezer had space on the door for small items that I could reach easily. I could stack things all the way to the top on the inner shelves. This pull out drawer thing has no quick access to small items. And there is a lot of cubic inches lost on top of that upper pull out basket because if I stacked things as high as there is room, they would fall off the back when I pull out the drawer. This freezer setup seems intended for people that mostly use their freezer for boxes of frozen pizza and ice cream. I actually use it for leftovers (small containers) and less frequently used items (also small but easily lost in a basket). To make it worse, there is this divider in the basket that pretends to be adjustable but it isn’t. I have no idea how to bring order and maximize capacity in this thing. I no longer buy more ice cream when it goes on sale because it just won't fit in my freezer. I delayed ordering an ice maker for this because it wasn't easy to figure out which kind would work for it. But that turned out to be good because we just set the ice basin from our old freezer in it while we figured it out. After a month of using that old ice, I realized I didn't need to dedicate so much freezer space to something we don't use that much, so I opted to get manual ice trays and a smaller container. It allows a little more space for the things I had taken out of my old freezer than no longer fit. The refrigerator compartment is massive. I like that the shelves are split. In addition to giving more versatility in orientation, split shelving makes it much easier when it's time to clean. The containers on the door don't pop in and out easily like my old Whirlpool did. I liked being able to grab the entire unit of salad dressing and set it out for everyone to pick their favorite, and it also makes cleaning easier. I also wish they had made all of the containers on the door as deep as the lowest one. The only reason not to is to give room to make the interior shelves deeper, but deeper isn't better when you want to access the jars of salsa and applesauce that get shoved in the back--because their isn't room for them on the doors. It does the job it's supposed to do, and it does it quietly, which many fridges in this price range seem unable to figure out. It could have been a fantastic freezer with a little more thought to the design. I'm dreading spending the next decade tugging on that heavy freezer door to move the weight of *all* the contents and bending over at the waist to rummage through a disorganized basket, only to get a small container of leftovers out "real quick." Amana, if you're seriously about delivering a great product that actually works optimally for a family, I can help you out. Let's make my dream fridge happen!

The fridge seem to be running constantly as if it has a leaky door seal. THIS is our SECOND Amana. Our first died in December after 20 years of service. There is also a rattle when ever the motor begins the cooling. Can't get used to the stainless steel door. Finger prints galore. I have to organize the door shelves better. The inside is arranged differently than our old AMANA.

Excellent replacement

I bought this model as a replacement for a Whirlpool model lemon purchased only a month previous. This model is much larger and having the freezer on the bottom is more convenient than I anticipated. I don't love the organization of the freezer, but I suspect I just need to get used to it. I do love the organization in the refrigerator, especially in the doors. There is plenty of room for everything and I like that I can rearrange the shelving to accommodate larger/taller items. It is a bit noisy on occasion, but it's NOTHING compared to our other Whirlpool model. Additionally, my house has an open floor plan and the fridge is kind of in the middle of everything, so I think a conventionally laid out house wouldn't notice the noise as much.

We purchased this model back in 2002 for our new home in NC. We have NEVER had an issue of any kind. Never needed any service other than the ice maker freezing up a few times, which I was able to fix. The best refrigerator ever. I am currently looking to replace it with the exact same unit only newer. I’m sure after 20 some years it has to be more energy efficient. I would recommend this unit to anyone. Love the freezer on the bottom

This is a replacement for the same refrigerator we bought 16 years ago. The older one had a pullout tray for 12-oz beverage cans and this one didn't. Also, the old one had a smudge-resistant door and this one doesn't. However, I still like the flexibility in moving the shelves around in the door and the main cavity, the freezer on the bottom is perfect for me and it JUST fits my cabinetry opening. My old one had an ice-maker and this one didn't. I had to order and pay extra for it, but I didn't realize that until the refrig was delivered. I don't remember if the old one came with the ice maker or if it was an add-on at that time. I had to rate its quality, etc., below, but I've only had it 2 weeks so I just took a guess.

I have only had this fridge for a few months, but I am really enjoying the freezer on the bottom. Now I can look inside at eye level, and see what is directly in front of me. It's a lot easier and the bottom freezer is more convenient. The only thing I would change would be the butter bin handle design. Because of how you open the compartment, you get fingerprints all over the front. Other than that-so far so good!

I had a 23 cu. ft. Kenmore Elite French Door Refrigerator that died after only 9 yrs. Even though this refrigerator is only 22 cu. ft., it has much more storage space than the larger Kenmore. The large one piece door with no water dispenser etc. allows for a massive amount of door storage. The compressor is smooth and quit, and keeps everything at the perfect temps in both the refrigerator and the freezer. I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend this appliance to anyone in the market for a refrigerator.

I have an Amana in my garage from 1992 and one behind my bar from 1996. They both are still working great even after I moved almost a year ago. I bought this model when I remodeled the kitchen at my new place and we love it. My Mother is 75 and walks with a cane, she lives with me and this model is great for her. This fridge keeps everything cold evenly, there is a lot of shelf space, the door also has large shelves. Being that my Mom is semi-handicapped we keep everything she consumes at her level so no bending down or high reaching, and nothing gets dropped. When people come over they can't believe how much room a top fridge has (they all have side by side doors). I thought that having a smooth finish on the front doors would get a lot of fingerprints but it cleans up very easy with windex and a paper towel. The fridge at my old house was stainless steel and never looked clean. I will only buy Amana refrigerators from now on I researched all of them but I went with Amana because of my history with the product. This is the BEST fridge ever.

The only set back I have is that there was a sticky substance on the door when it arrived and in trying to clean it off with dish liquid it left tiny scratches that I am definitely not happy with. I bought this refrigerator a month ago. It is white as was my previous one. I was disappointed that it did come with ice cube trays, no shelf liners and no butter dish. The quality of the outside finish had diminished, it's not as rich as the previous model was. Seems that today we pay more for less and that is extremely sad for America. The under shelf drawer was cracked and I am still waiting for the replacement to arrive.

ABB2224BRB arrived 4/3/2021 Very roomy inside frig & freezer. Recommended settings for both were "4" but had to increase freezer to "5" for ice cream to be frozen solid. Removed our older Amana frig to garage; this new frig was the same size (height & width) but wouldn't fit under our cabinets because it was "slightly bowed" at the top instead of flat! We had to shave off the 2 cabinets for it to fit into our space !! This was a manufacturing issue. Otherwise, love this bottom freezer Amana refrigerator.

I did look at other brands but kept coming back to the Amana. This is a no frills refrigerator but it is best at keeping food cold period. Hopefully I can get 18 years out of this unit. I bought this refrigerator online based on the excellent rating it received from Consumer Reports. It works very well, but I have some minor design criticisms. The freezer drawers pull out easily, but I've discovered that, if you are not careful, items can fall out the back of the drawer when it is extended, and fall on the bottom of the freezer. I found it very difficult to retrieve the fallen items! Also there are no stops on the vegetable bins, so it's too easy to pull the drawers completely out of the refrigerator.

We placed our "old" Amana bottom freezer refrigerator with the same brand and configuration . The new one does not have a swing out freezer door with storage which I miss. The dividers in the drawers in the freezer were hard to remove. I went on youtube.com and watched a video and basically had to break the dividers to get them out. Once that was done, we loaded the freezer and refrigerator and are back in business. I hope that the new Amana lasts as long as the old one.

I bought this refrigerator/freezer a month ago to replace the same model that I had before that was 14 years old and compressor failing. I prefer a bottom freezer with the pull out drawer where I can see what's there and it's easy to get to. I am disappointed that the adjustable dividers of both freezer drawers have been replaced with dividers that cannot be moved. I miss the flexibility that was offered by my original Amana. I am also disappointed that the meat/cheese drawer that went completely across bottom of refrigerator is not a smaller drawer under one of the shelves. I like the digital temperature controls which makes it possible to see exactly what the setting for each space is.

I only have the Amana refrigerator for a few weeks and thus far it is very quiet and temperatures are perfect for freezer and refrigerator. However, I am very disappointed that the interior, same size as my 25 year old Amana was, didn't even come with a loose ice tray, egg tray, butter dish, no place for cheese etc. It is totally naked inside, plus the vegetable compartments are not as long as the 25 year old ones, and the freezer is much smaller. Would never have bought this model if I had seen it at a store. Was forced to buy via Internet, despite having shopped at at lest 5 or 6 stores. One of my criteria for purchase was I had to be able to use magnets on the door for my photo gallery and this model accepts magnets.

We bought this model when our old side-by-side was on the way out. This model provides an incredible amount of storage space in the refrigerator section, and adequate freezer space. It takes some getting used to the lower freezer unit, but doesn't present a problem. We are anxious to see how the Energy Star rating affects the electricity consumption. Overall, we are quite happy with the product at this early date since installation.

We got this refrigerator a few weeks ago; we've never had stainless steel before and love it, it is clean, elegant. Doesn't show fingerprints, the sides are textured so they don't scratch. The inside is well lit, spacious, easy organization, perfect for us. The freezer is better organized than our previous refrigerator, all is more neat and easy to use.

This refrigerator has worked well so far. The position of the shelves and door containers are adjustable which is useful. I'm not a a huge fan of the draw freezer because it doesn't seem to hold as much food as the hinged door freezer. If food is stored too close to the blower on the top shelf of the refrigerator, it tends to freeze.

My husband and I bought this fridge at a great price and especially liked the bottom freezer option. We have been very pleased with it. Our only complaint is that the stainless steel rusted in a few places within a year of having it. Be sure to research how to clean smudges and fingerprints upon purchase. I think I may have used the wrong cleaning supply on it.

I like my wide refrigerator. The glass shelves are easy to clean. The fruit and vegetable drawers are easy to operate, and I especially like the humidity controls. I wish that the freezer would hold more product. I tried to move the plastic barrier but was not able to and also there is no place to put the ice cube trays except behind that barrier. A few days after I bought it, the ice cream container wedged in the door and was open enough to have everyting frosty the next day and the light did not work. Had to remove everything and it was not easy to clean the moisture from it. Used the "grab it" with a towel attached.

Problems at First, Fine Now

The first refrigerator didn't get cold at all when we received it. It was hot weather and we lost a lot of food before they could deliver another one 3 days later. The replacement runs great and the shelving is convenient and we are happy with it. The only problem with the freezer is that the dividers are not moveable. That would have helped a lot. Overall happy.

I just bought this house about a year ago and I knew some of the appliances were old. I was sad that they no longer come in the almond or bisque color. But, I noticed that my dishwasher was white so that helped me decide which color to go with . I was very happy that Amana had the size I needed as well, as the same style I had before. The whole family loves the size the color, the ease in getting into, and the shelves are well spaced. We love the freezer that is used less is in the bottom. The ice maker is a great bonus when entertaining. The glass shelves make it easy to see into the interior and find the bottle that we want. In addition, we use the crispers for fruit and vegetables. Furthermore, the door has good spacing for condiments, milk, and eggs. Thank you.

I have just purchased my fourth Amana refrigerator! They are great... I've only had to replace one and I got the others due to moves. They hold food well, I can see all of the condiments and few get shuffled off to the back of the refrigerator to mold! The compressor is quiet. I love the bottom freezer... now I can get a drawer and not drop things on the floor - great design feature! Amana bottom freezer refrigerators are the best!!!

Bought this refrigerator to replace one just like it that was 13 years old. Needed the exact model because of a space issue. We were updating our kitchen with stainless appliances. It's been installed for a week and so far is performing well. I do miss the larger drawer for cheese and cold cuts. The newer version has a much smaller drawer. Other than that, so far so good.

We really like the new refrigerator, but it makes a noise every so often. I think when the motor kicks on . I think the hydrator doors are sort of cheap. Well, I mean the runners that they are on. It's not easy to just push the drawer back. I have to try a couple of times and jiggle it. I don't like that aspect of the refrigerator.

My old Amana's bottom freezer had a problem and the service person stated since it was over 15 years old he would not advise repair expenses so I told him I would like another Amana, same style. I also talked by phone to the manager and repeated that I wanted an Amana just like the one I had. I loved my old Amana, not one problem until now. The new Amana is almost its twin, just a few differences. More space in the door shelving but a little less in the interior. I am adjusting to the slightly shorter vegetable and fruit compartments. As to the rest of the interior, I am now locating things quicker and easier. The spacing is adequate and shelves can be placed in any suitable pattern. Personnel at my favorite appliance store know me well, they advise, sell and also provide quality service. I knew Amana is a top quality appliance so it was only natural I would desire another. And I can still have magnets holding pictures of my grandchildren!

Back to the Future of Refrigeration

This was the first type of refrigerator I bought and I went back to it. Having the freezer on the bottom is so convenient. There is much more space when you don't have the fridge split in two like my last Amana. They gave me too many shelves. I have one in the closet! The dairy/egg shelf for the door could be designed differently so that it could be placed flush with the top of the door. Now, it has to go on the second bracket and that is not very efficient. And, the light bulb burned out after two days. :( Otherwise I am very happy with my Amana refrigerator. It is efficient and It is what I love.

Great for a tall person like me

I purchased Amana because I already have a dishwasher by the same brand and I loved, not only the price, but the quality. The upside down fridge (as I like to call it) is great for my height. I never liked the side by side fridges because I could never put large items in them. This style of fridge lets me place substantial containers or trays without having to worry how it's going to fit. But the most significant thing about it is that I don't have to bend over killing my back looking for items and there is less chance of forgetting food shoved in the back of the fridge. The style plus the price of this brand make me love my fridge!

Bottom Freezer Dismay

We have only had this unit a few weeks and have no mechanical issues to report, but, the basket dividers in the freezer are extremely difficult to adjust. There were no instructions included with the purchase on how to move the dividers so we resorted to You Tube, only to find out that the entire basket must be removed from the unit to move the dividers. This, per the video, is not as easy task, since once the freezer is operating the plastic clips are stiff, and I'm afraid they will break,causing more harm then was intended

Both my husband and I thank our new Amana refrigerator for the easy access to our fruits and vegetables. Not having to bend down (we are still very active) to look for the items we use the most. Fridge was delivered on time by polite young men who had to finagle it into my apartment (narrow doorways). Plugged it in and waited the required amount of time before loading it up with food. Runs great, no issues. Only problem I would say it has is that I should have gotten a bigger model, ha ha. Works so great I've been buying more food! Love the freezer on the bottom, so much better that a small freezer on the top like we had before.

Not made for shorties.

I bought a refrigerator with a bottom freezer and I like that feature. However I failed to consider the fact that I am only 4'10". The result is that the top shelf can be used only to store things in the very front. Also the placement of the cheese and meat drawer is such that I cannot see in over the top. Thankfully the drawer is see through but it is still inconvenient to not be able to pull the drawer out and see everything that is I it. Other than that, I have no complaint and do like the bottom freezer.

It's been about a month now, and overall we am happy with the purchase. The biggest reason we bought this bottom type freezer was because of my back issues. Having the refrigerator items at the top keeps me from bending over all the time to see what's in the refrigerator. The bottom basket in the freezer could have been enclosed instead of a wire rack which allows cold air to escape more freely when opening the freezer door, but the door isn't open for long period of time. (Maybe there is reason for the wire rack that I am not aware of.) In reality, I think we actually lost some freezer space because of the pull out racks, but we have a small freezer in the back of the house. When opening the door to the freezer one has to make sure to pull from the middle of the handle or use 2 hands equally spaced or the door will not pull out as evenly or smoothly which could lead to issues with the door. (Due to the design of bottom freezers such as this I don't think there is any way this could be avoided.) We have the refrigerator and freezer set to #5, and I've checked the temps with a gauge. The refrigerator temp fluctuates from 32 - 40 degrees with the gauge on the middle rack...I am a little surprised with the fluctuation. The freezer maintains a temperature of zero or slightly below. The shelves in the door area are sturdy; it was a concern because of what I've read about cheaper makes and models on the market. The only other thing is that if you put the butter shelf on the top, you actually lose a little space because the shelf will not go all the way up to the top which leaves about 2.5" of unused space (my wife likes it at the top so we leave it there). Overall, this is a well built unit and I would recommend purchasing this. I base this on lots of research and looking at different makes and models on the market.

We were excited about the advertised energy rebates at the dealer but found out this one model was not an energy star, so no rebate. We love the top refrigerator and the bottom freezer. It is a bit taller than other models the dealer had and that is very nice too and increases capacity.

We just replace our 33 year old, 22cu ft Amana bottom-freezer fridge (WHICH IS STILL WORKING) with the similar current model. For 33 years we had no problem with our fridge and the only reason we replaced it was for a kitchen color change, going all white. The old fridge is still running great. Just hoping that the new one will be as trouble-free as the old one. One thing is that it will be more efficient!! The door is not closing properly and needs an adjustment. My only other complaint so far (just delivered 2 days ago) is that Amana has neglected to provide ice cube trays and ice holder for those of use that do not want the ice maker!! It would have been nice to have that feature that would fit properly in the drawer. Very stingy on Amana's part!

Excellent Refrigerator

I purchased this refrigerator 2 weeks ago and we really like it .theres plenty of room and has easy excess to what ever you want.lots of lighting to see things lots of niece adjustable shelves and you don't have to bend over so far to see or reach things in the refrigerator. Runs niece and quiet too.

So you don't want to add ice cube trays anymore... that's fine, but at least put the ice cube tray holder back. Where are we suppose to put the ice cube trays??? if you shake they spill all over the bottom of the freezer... elderly shake! Not to mention they take up extra space where the food could go! I understand you wanting to "save a buck" about eliminating the ice cube tray holder was NOT the way to go! At least offer them as a part that could be ordered. I would gladly order one! Other wise this is the second one I've have in my home... I love them both (the first one has a ice cube tray holder!)

Great Refrigerator!

I bought one a little bigger 5 years ago and love it. I moved and it wouldn't fit into my new kitchen so it is in my basement and bought this one just a few inches smaller. It is quiet, stays cold on the #4 setting. Never a problem in all these years. The smaller one I just bought seems as big as the other one. Don't even notice the difference. Freezer on the bottom, you can't beat it. How often are you in a freezer? Mostly you use the refrig, so no more bending to find things.. it's all in easy reach!! I would always recommend the Amana refrig!! It's the best!!!

Nice refridgerator

I just bought this fridge a couple weeks ago. I don't know if it was me or the sales lady but it's 2 inches too tall. So, I have to cut into the cabinets, which is ok for me. I'm not using them anyway. I just wished that the front of the fridge was textured just like the sides and top. I really like that feel. The shelves are adjustable and keeps everything cold and frozen. LOVE it other wise and probably would buy again, if the price was right.

Nice Looking, No frills, Perfect

Delivered 2 weeks ago. So far, so good. Stainless is only on the front, which is a plus for me. Switched from a top freezer to bottom freezer. Love being able to see everything in the fridge without having to bend down and look up! Freezers drawers are nice since all food is not stacked making it hard to get to. More room in the freezer without an ice maker (my preference) but it can be added if you want one, which is a good option. Plenty of room. It was bigger than I thought it would be, but still fit perfectly in its space.

Great buy

This is my second Amana refrigerator/freezer of this type. ( My earliest one was a side by side but I don't have room for that type anymore.) It is spacious inside. The freezer is also spacious. What I miss are the extras, like the egg box. The drawers for fruits and vegetable are smaller than my previous one. The door sections are deeper so that may account for the short drawers. I kept all the inside plastics that I had with the first one. The installer didn't really do a good job inserting the drawers and although I have tried, they still give me some problems. All in all, it's a great refrigerator. I did buy the 3 year contract just in case but I didn't have any problems with my previous one, which I owned for 17 years. (Then the freezer stopped working and it's cheaper to buy a new fridge than repair.)

For years I envied my cousin's fridge top/freezer bottom refrigerator and said "one day I shall have one too"! Well, the first one we bought was for our daughter last year and this year it was my turn. The decision was perfect especially for someone who has back problems and now my husband had surgery which meant lots more home cooked meals and lots of ices for treats....chocolate Italian ices is what he craved after his surgery. Not having to bend down constantly in search of food and having everything at eye level for regular food preparation has been wonderful and a true blessing. I hope to enjoy our Amana for many years to come and highly recommend it to anyone who likes this type of luxury.......for me right now it is worth more than diamonds!

I bought this frig/freezer because the freezer is on the bottom and I soak big pots of pinto beans, every other day. Bonuses: the freezer compartment stacking is so convenient and easy on my back. The frig part is at the perfect height to keep it all shiny clean and everything glides beautifully. Gets an A+ from me.

A really good frig

After several month's use, I must say I like this refrigerator. Nothing has gone wrong, though it occasionally makes some odd sounds. It keeps the tempersture settings as set. The versatile door bins are a plus. The 'shelf' above the freezer compartment is handy for temporarily setting down items in the way of what you want to remove. The only negative is that the crisper bins are a bit small for my usage.

Absolutely Love my model of this Fridge

I have an older version of this fridge, so I can't speak for this one from experience. Mine has a door freezer instead of a drawer. Like this one, mine doesn't have the water/icemaker and I have never missed it. I think that is the part that requires the most repair on most fridges anyway and I'm glad I haven't had the bother or expense. This newer model has similar shelf features to mine and I love them!!! I like the door shelving in mine a little better, mine seem like they would hold a little more, but overall they are alike. I love that they are adjustable also!! I've had my fridge for years I really wish mine were in Stainless, because we are remodeling and updating the appliances in the kitchen. It's like losing an old & true friend.

Very efficient and Quiet

Stays cold, very quiet, and uses little power. The only negative is that the seals are so tight it is a little hard to open both doors and still are after 3 years, but you get used to it. I'd rather have it that way versus too loose seals and wasting energy or not staying cool.

I bought this a couple of months ago and so far so good. Good amount of space and really nice to have the freezer drawer, though it took a bit of adjusting from the top freezer model we had previously. The main complaint is the door stopped closing automatically and I found changing the height/level of the fridge to be cumbersome in order to fix the problem.

22 cu ft, 32-inch wide Amana bottom freezer refrigerator

I bought the refrigerator approximately a month ago to replace a predecessor version of this model that lasted approximately 10 years. The new refrigerator is fairly quiet and, most importantly, it keeps the refrigerated items cold and the frozen items frozen. The support structure for the handle on the freezer door of the model that we had previous was poorly designed and frequently pulled off. The current model includes has a more stable support structure for the handle. I am hopeful that we will have a long life together.

2nd Fridge

Purchased fridge for a redo on our large laundry room. Works just fine. large capacity side is perfect for larger bottle and wholesale products. Bottom freezer is good for meat storage and we added ice-maker. You do lose a little space with that freezer however with bins. Otherwise a quality fridge.

I wanted a side by side. Unfortunately, after searching for the perfect one that fit in the space a knowledgeable salesperson told me it wouldn't fit and explained why. We tested the theory and he was right! He suggested this freezer and I am very happy with it. I love that the handle can be changed because I need it to open from the left hand side. :) The bottom freezer takes a little getting used to, and it helps to be organized! But I love it.

I like the overall refrigerator mostly but do not like the crisper drawers at all. They are very flimsy and not deep enough compared to my old fridge. The little plastic humidity tab has already broken off one of the drawers. I bought this model because I wanted the butter section with closable lid on the door.

Cheaper than 30 years ago refrigerator

This is a replacement refrigerator from my 31 year old Amana. Basically the same refrigerator other then it's built cheaper. More plastic parts, shelves are smaller on the door. Don't care for the pull out freezer section as it seems very thin metal and it's flimsy. Other then it being a basic white refrigerator, it keeps the food fresh.

Satisfactory, but not stellar

Freezer space is the biggest problem on this model, and the gap between the upper and lower drawers of said freezer allows for items to get dragged out or jammed. The top refrigerator is nice, but the space designed for eggs is too smal for a dozen carton, and having loose eggs rattle around in the door doesn't make sense.

I took quite a while to locate this particular model in white... it's almost identical to my previous refrigerator freezer with the exception of the biggest feature I miss. - a deli drawer. The freezer drawer seems less stable with open wire drawers instead of solid plastic ones I had before. And I need to make a definite effort to close it completely.

I wish the fruit & vegetable bins were bigger. Maybe a separate drawer in the middle just for two big fruit & vegetable drawers, so like a 2 door with a drawer in the middle. I like the covered butter dish & the smaller cheese/ lunch meat drawer not like a full shelf. I like that you can mover shelves. I wish it had a plastic tub in the freezer instead of the wire basket. It would be great if you could make the size 71" tall by 36" wide by 32" deep. General Electric makes one that's close to those dimensions but it's way too deep like 36" deep. I loved my Kenmore but they don't make them anymore beautiful thick glass shelves chrome large door shelves. Make it real Stainless Steel , Thanks for asking. Hopefully some day you'll make one with those dimensions & I'll buy it. Oh please keep making the freezer on the bottom drawer very handy. Thank you

Ups and downs!

We bought our Amanda refrigerator based on its size because our space was small. We also replaced another Amanda refrigerator we had for 23 years. We’ve been pretty happy with most of its features thus far. The only discouragement is the quality of the vegetable bins and how far out the meat tray protrudes. The vegetable bins seem very fragile and would easily break if not handled gingerly. They also don’t slide very well.

DO NOT BUY

Very disappointed in the quality of this Refrigerator. It arrived with the screw hole covers either missing or broken. NO ice trays or bucket. No shelf for ice trays in the freezer compartment. Freezer door handle keeps coming off of the door when we open the freezer, MOST ANNOYING! All the bins in upper portion are thin cheap flimsy material and do not pull in and out smoothly. This refrigerator replaced a 25plus year old refrigerator , unfortunately we do not expect to get the same life out of this new one. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED FOR THE MONEY SPENT ON IT

Noisy

I hate to be negative, but I have never had a noisy refrigerator before. Several times a day, often for more than an hour at a time, I will hear the refrigerator running, even when I’m in my living room. My visiting son thought we were having a wind storm. A service representative, from the store where I purchased it, will be out to evaluate later this month. Hopefully it can be corrected.

Okay concept, not so good on actual usable space

We purchased this unit because we had an Amana for the past 15 years, which was quite reliable. The older unit was standard Freezer on Top model. The newer unit is about 2cubic feet larger volume, but frankly it's less usable space. We have had to move a number of items formerly stored in our kitchen fridge/freezer to our basement freezers because they just dont fit in the new unit. Frankly, I'm disappointed. As a guy that's done some product design myself, I can suggest that the new unit was likely designed by a guy, and not by someone that actually uses the thing every day. More background; I was part of a team that originally imported the Vestfrost units to the USA. I actually have some experience with completely new fridge/freezer formats. I was able to get used to the Vestfrost and make the space work, despite it being a considerably smaller volume than typical US units. Sorry to say that this Amana layout is just not as practical as the older model; more volume, less usable space. No wonder we have to import tech support.

Newer isn’t always better.

I bought this four months ago because I have a fifteen year old model of this fridge which I love. The refrigerator is great, lots of usable space and the fridge is quieter than the old model. The only problem is with the fruit bin. The area in front of it is slanted toward the floor and the bin is very slick. Within two months the bin had fallen out onto the tile floor and smashed. Amanda did replace it at no cost. The freezer is now a pull out drawer which doesn’t give as much usable space as the old model which has a door. I like this fridge but I wish I could have bought a model just like my old one.

Just replaced my 20+ yr old Amana of this same model. Not real impressed with the new one. Smaller drawer of thinner plastic, temp/air control on veggie bins is a joke when the drawers don't shut tight, meat drawer is just a drawer now. Lots of wasted space in the new model, all drawers seem to be about 25% smaller and don't go as far back to the wall or bottom of the fridge. Door shelves are ok even if they are of lesser quality plastic than they use to be. Freezer-- this is a sad design in my opinion. I would have had to buy a smaller fridge to get the freezer with the swing door. Why not give the customer the choice in which style they would want on the freezer? Drawer vs swing door. I loved the old style with the swing door. It had 2 rows of shelves in the door, a stationary shelf with a full (wall to wall to wall), pull out basket on the bottom. New design has so much wasted space in the freezer. When my new fridge arrived, the item in my old freezer would not all fit into the new one. I bought an Amana fridge and stove at the same time, and the stove (2nd one) has already had a service call. I have my doubts these units will last like my old ones did. As I stated in the stove review, "I miss the good ole days when a name brand stood for something you could count on." I truly wish I had spent half the money and repaired my old appliances. I could have passed off the Almond color as Bisque. MY 1ST REVIEW DATED 3/25/17 NEVER SHOWED UP HERE... WONDER IF THIS ONE WILL??

Knocking noise

Refrigerator has a knocking noise when it 'kicks in to cool'. Seems to work fine but I am concerned about the knocking noise. Also, door will not stay at open position without opening all the way and hitting wall, off balanced perhaps.

poor freezer features

I had to replace my refrig that I had for over 30 years. this is actually a little bigger in cubic feet than it was but seems to not have as much room. especially in the freezer, mine was also a bottom freezer. It had a swing door that had a small built in shelf in the door which I could use for my ice cube trays and holder, but in this one I have to use up half of the top freezer bin for them plus it is a nuisance to always needing to pull out the freezer then reach in & pull out the top bin. Preferred the old style with a actual shelf. the bottom bin is difficult to put much in it without hanging up on the upper bin. The vegetable bins are a lot smaller (don't go very deep) plus even using the humidity control, they don't keep my stuff as fresh. Also don't like all the shelves being glass. Wish at least 1 was metal to put warm items on. the meat draw is also smaller. also it had a very ugly open spot on top of door corner, poor craftsmanship. the insulation was showing. I do like having the refrig shelves movable.

Freezer seems small

Had to get a new refrigerator quickly. Looked around and decided on Amama for looks, size and price. I had a freezer with door on my previous model this one has a drawer and I have less storage. I don't like the drawer with baskets. I much prefer the door with shelf and one basket and door rack. I'm sure I'll get use to the freezer but the adjustment is hard. No problem with the refrigerator set up.

Not as good as the last one

Had an Amana w/ same configuration for 20 yrs. that we loved. For unknown reasons, they made this model about 2" less deep and 2" taller. The result is we had to make changes to fit it in the space in our kitchen and there is MUCH less usable space in it, door shelves, drawers and shelf space all suffered from this silly redesign. The one positive is that the bottom freezer top shelf now pulls out (but they made the bottom part baskets, again less usable space, although easier to access.) Don't understand the need to try to "improve" on something that was working well.

Optional Ice Maker Problems

I bought two of these refrigerators to replace two 30 year old Amana bottom-freezer refrigerators. I bought the ice maker kit specified on the Amana website (W11459724), however, it did not fit. The electrical plug for the ice maker in the refrigerator has five pins (only four used), but the ice maker kit had a 4 prong plug. Also, the electrical connection for the water solenoid did not fit

Not a good experience!

We bought this Amanda refrigerator to replace an Amanda that we loved. This one had NONE of the features that we appreciated in the old one, like the beverage shelf. It comes with no accessories (ice cube trays, ice cube storage bin, egg storage tray). The front is a shiny white finish, not a fingerprint proof finish. The only good thing was the perfect fit between our cupboards, which is the reason we bought it in the first place. We knew it would at least fit and it does! Also, we had to reverse the door and Amanda did not send the plugs to fill in the holes left after the reversal. New frig with two holes in the door. Bummed out!!!

TERRIBLE DISAPPOINTMENT

So disappointed!!! I ordered what I thought was a replacement for my 12 year old Amana bottom freezer. I was told it was the same fridge I had before, but no way. The bottom fridge drawers must be pulled out, and the very bottom is not accessible because I can't bend down that low without pain in my back. TERRIBLE decision by Amana to change this to a pull out drawer instead of one that opens on the side and has side compartments, too, as my old one had. I loved that fridge and hate this one. It also has less room inside, drawers are smaller, can barely fit a bunch of celery in the vegetable drawer. This is a disaster, I am so upset that Amana pulled a fast switch on us and gave us a non accessible product.

This fridge was a disappointment. Bought to replace a Whirlpool with exact same dimensions- space was an issue. Bottom shelf in the door did not attach properly. When door was opened, shelf came loose, and contents of shelf smashed on the floor. We kept the prior fridge and tried to swap out the faulty part, but the fault was in the molded door panel. Had to do a redneck fix with screws. Not cool. Also, the small storage bins on the old fridge were clear. New ones are opaque, so hard to tell what's in them. We swapped them out.

Works well except for annoying intermitted noise

I bought this unit in July of 2024. It has worked well, maintaining the temperatures of the fridge and freezer. About mid September, it started making an annoying Woodpecker like noise that comes from the circulating fan in the refrigerator section. The noise lasts about two seconds then quiet for one second and then noisy for another two seconds. This even repeats a third time, infrequently. The unit is then quiet for thirty minutes or so and then the noise sequence repeats. I've had a repairman out who informed me that the noise is a common problem. Many owners have the same problem. Sadly, replacing the offending fan and associated assembly DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. There is a very good chance that the replacement parts will begin making the same woodpecker noise at some point.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH QUALITY

WE had a 28-year-old frig that this replaced, same company same model. And the quality difference is HUGE! VERY poor quality. NO ice cube trays, bucket, OR shelf for trays in the freezer compartment. Plastic screw covers were missing or broken. Freezer door handle keeps coming off. Produce drawers are cheap flimsy and DO NOT slide in and out smoothly. Freezer pull out wire basket does not operate /pull out smoothly either. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED CONSIDERING WHAT WE PAID for this unit AND NOW ARE STUCK WITH, although we are sure this one will not last 28 plus years. Will not buy this company again.

Bottom. Of freezer builds up

Every couple of days I have to take a thick layer of ice out of the bottom of the freezer . After spending a lot for this appliance I really do t think we should have to do this.

Unfortunately ten years fridge is made worst

I replace my old fridge with the identical one except ten years latter Everything is cheaper on the new one compared to the old one Only complaint about old one is only lasted TEN YEARS New one is so much cheaper made Very disappointed in Amana/Whirlpool and their drop in quality Also in performance new one have to have on setting 4. Where old fridge was setting 3 and temperature varies on new one

Amana Refrigerator/boittom freezer Review

How many engineers and designers did it take to create a freezer (no factory installed ice maker machine) without a way to make and store ice cubes with no mess????? QUOTE from letter sent to manufactureer "For personal reasons, we opted to purchase a refrigerator without an ice maker (machine). Imagine our surprise and great disappointment that the model we ordered came with no means of making and storing ice cubes without a potential mess! No ice cube trays; no shelf to hold ice cube trays level and secure to prevent spillage while freezing; no container to empty the trays into! All these were part of our former refrigerator. In reviewing the Refrigerator Assembly Instructions for the new refrigerator, I noted , a shelf and ice cube trays pictured. Because of our previous experience with an Amana refrigerator/bottom freezer, we had great expectations that this refrigerator would provide for our needs as the previous one had done so well. Those expectations have been dashed. I do not look forward to the frequent messes and inconvenience that will occur as a result of having no dedicated, secure location for freezing ice cube trays. "We will deal happily with the color (stark white rather than almond) and the other design modifications (improvements?). However, ice making will remain a definite and unneeded challenge."

Freezer Bin Not removable

Can't remove the freezer bins in order to clean. They are held in by screws and I can't remove them. I'm 73 and the bottom of my freezer is getting VERY DIRTY . How do I remove the freezer bins?
