I love how cool it gets and how the capacity and dimensions are big but not to big that it will not fit it has multiple shelves and it saves a lot of energy since it is 12 volt

This GE 12 Volt Refrigerator works great I tested freezer & frig with thermometer after 24 hours turning on 0 degrees in frezezer 35 degrees in frig set on cold the middle setting ambient temp outside was 71 degrees during daytime . I took out old absorption style that came factory with camper . Now with this GE 12 Volt refrigerant we can have anything we would have in our home refrigerator. . Worth every penny & the effort of installing . A++ Product From GE

Refrigerator is working well and like the simple convenient items ex. Door lock feature is easy to use but sturdy enough that I am confident my food will not be on the floor after a rough road. Love the size and seems to be really energy efficient.

So far, we love this 12 volt fridge. We replaced a residential fridge in a motorhome with this 12 volt. We were on vacation and the residential fridge went out for the 2nd time in a year. So we opted for a 12 volt. I can already say it gets a lot colder than the residential fridge and it’s laid out very nice for a motorhome and camping.

This fridge did great for our first camping trip this past weekend. Kept everything cold. Only dislike is that the shelves don’t stay in place when bouncing down the road. I wish there was a way to have them snap in for a snug fit.

I love the new refrigerator. The only thing I don’t like is the latch on the side that keeps the door from opening is very cheap and came open the first time I drove. The RV dealer, I bought it from put some straps on the side of my cabinets to help keep it secure while driving. They need to make a better latch to hold it shut. Besides that no issues. A lot of storage space.

Our Fridgeis a small but big refrigerator. It is in our 2022 Palomini trailer. Until today it worked wonderfully. When it suddenly stopped cooling, I tried to check ti circuit, but nothing seemed to affect the the circuit. The lights came on, just not the compressor.

We have been in RV families since growing up. This 12V RV fridge is seeming to be a great replacement to the old dual cooling (LP and Electric) units that we've had in our former RV's. Don't have to worry about this one having the burner go out while travelling down the road! Also, the space (CF) is fantastic!

For an RV, works well. This unit should be installed in an air conditioned space. The doors do not have a lot of insulation and if installed in a space that is not conditioned (cargo trailer, cabin, etc) that warms up the fridge will run non-stop. The unit otherwise sips power for its size and is a good value for what you're getting. If not installed in a hot space, it keeps temps perfectly. One thing to note, since this does not have fans inside anything touching the back wall of the fridge will freeze. There is a gap in the shelves so use that as an indicator of how far back to put items.

This 12v unit's 9.8cuft space and the door layout and shelving provide everything we need for extended travels in our RV. It is relatively lightweight and was easy to install once I removed the existing small 3-way fridge and removed the expansion panel above. It cooled quickly and stays cold. I suggest you don't remove the tapes securing the doors until it is installed. The only wish list item is for GE to offer a trim kit to cover the brackets that secure it to the RV.

THis unit replaced a Dometic dual fuel unit (gas/elec) in my Thor Axis 25.2 RV. I went from a 6.0 CU capacity to 9.8 CU in the same footprint. Now I have room for a decent amount of food and full size pizza boxes in the freezer. Much quieter as well. Deffinitely an upgrade over the other unit. Additionally, the energy efficientcy and cooling capacity has improved.

This refrigerator was very affordable, perfect for an RV or guest area, spacious on the inside, and easy to clean. I use it for my food truck, and no matter how hot it is outside this refrigerator always holds temp. It has a spill tray inside the bottom rear so if you lose power or accidently knock something over incase, less worries about liquid falling out on the floor.

We have had the 12 volt fridge for a short time. So far no problems. Love all the room in a 12 volt fridge. I don’t really care for the fancy shelves on door. Would hold cans or soda pop bottles. Going down the road they fall out of shelf. There isn’t a notch on sides to hold my rod to keep food from falling out after traveling when open the door. Minor things but just giving my true opinion

This 12V fridge is a great upgrade for my rv. It keeps things at 34F regardless of ambient temperature. I would have given it 5 stars if it had a travel lock to keep it closed when traveling. I used a lock from a different brand.

Impressive cooling capability

I purchased a new camper which came with the unit installed. I was very skeptical about a 12 volt unit. No way it will freeze ice. I was wrong. This unit makes no sound and freezes ice. No cooling fins like an LP unit so it makes an easy clean up especially since the system will be shut down and stored for weeks on end. Leave the doors open to let the air circulate as not to grow any mold. It has an LED bulb which works great until you want to keep the door open to circulate air. Nothing that a piece of tape couldn’t take care of. The difference of not having the LP is more square inches of space. Love technology.

We replaced our original 2-way RV fridge with this 12volt compressor model. We have found that the old fridge was really struggling with high outdoor temps. So we were very pleased to see the GE fridge held up well in the hottest climates. And the bonus of an extra 2 cu.ft. didn't hurt either!

Refrigerator gets cold fast and stays cold. If you turn the temp dial to coldest, you will find it will start freezing items in the refrigerator part even on the hottest days, Ice cream will turn into a rock. One one stupid problem with this unit, the is no way to turn the light off when leaving the doors open. Manual says kill the 12v power to the whole trailer or turn off the circuit breaker. I guess they never looked at the fuse/circuit breaker panel on a RV. AC gets circuit breakers, DC gets fuses. You dont want to be removing the fuse every time you unload your RV. We use painters tape and tape down the switch but they should of put a off button for the light.v

No Locks

This refrigerator is perfect for our travel trailer--the size is great. However, there are no locks on the doors, so while we travel food moved around and the doors opened and fell on the floor. An RV Refrigerator should have locks on the doors.

We have this refrigerator in our Coachman RV and love how it runs off of 12 volts it does keep everything cold and everything Frozen fine however when we move from location to location we see water on the floor from underneath the fridge any ideas on what the cause could be would be helpful

Ok, the door latch comes off. Had to glue pc to keep from falling off. Temp setting dial is hard to adjust to 40F. At low lowest setting things freez up. Wish it could run on propane also

The refrigerator is nice that it runs on 12v however it seems like it runs alot and builds ice in the back of the fridge freezing items in the back even though we have it set close to cool. Somehow it seems that the thermostat is not as precise.

I replaced an absorption fridge in my RV with this one. I couldn't be happier! Along with the two more cubic feet of space, it is much safer to leave it running while on the road. It is very quiet and efficient. I can run it for three days on my single 260AH lithium battery before it needs to be charged. This fridge is highly recommended!

Replacement for my RV so far it's good. Couple of things I wish it had a way to keep doors closed while traveling and a way to secure it down. Previous refrigerator came with door lock handles and built in anchor points to secure it to make immobile.

Re Doing Rating as it was my fault battery

28 hours on lithium 12 volt 260 ah, it was not even quit on full charge I had hooked it on the lithium side of switch, I meant to hook it on the lead side as it gets charged constant at home, so my first review was my fault not ge, frig is working as should , does frost up but that was normal , I installed a 30 amp switch so I can switch it off, the thermastat is a bit rink a ding and I think they have an upgrade to the original its working and hums pretty quiet , I suspect this will last 20 years , just a guess, like I said some of the bad reviews are customers fault, I'm well experianced before install but my battery shut down on the battery management system is all, I would have liked a new lid for the back as the shipper crunched it up but does not effect anything, long as th electronics hold up I see this lasting many years, compressor is pretty smooth running, I bought 6 child safety straps to make sure the doors don't fly open and door stop foam rubber, always level motor home close, even though im sure this 12 volt is less particular the the gas electrics, far as amp consumption think they are pretty close if its hot weather likely set thermostat colder as of now mine is set lower than recommended as its cooler weather and I left the outside vent open, think its a good if it get real cold I will put some thin insulation on outside vent

This Frigid is in our camper. When we hook up the camper the Fridge cools down very fast and the Freezer portion freezes quickly. I love the size and operation of this Fridge. I was raised on GE products. My Dad worked for them many years.

Olf frig in RV quit. Search many frig for replacement. Decided on this GE as it worked off of 12 VDC. In 2 hours my son and myself had only unit out, this one put in and it started cooling as soon as I turned it on. Perfect fit. Made two trays of ice in a couple of hours.

This 9.8 has a lot more space/storage then our last RV that was 6cf. What a big differance and 12Volt is nice. If there is a problem, it is MUCH easier and cost less to deal with then the gas combo unit we have always had. Looks GREAT and is easy to move shelves and custom the storage you need. we are very impressed with this 9.8cf size. It's larger then you think.

This 12 V refrigerator is installed in my travel trailer. The 12 V versus the 120V/Propane refrigerator offers more cubic space. The upper freezer performs very well, similar to a home freezer. The lower section, refrigerator offers several compartments. I would recommend the 12 V if you are needing to change bout to electric/propane model. The surface finish matches well with my other appliances.

It does a good job in our RV but it is not perfect. In the refrigerator portion there are no circulation fans so things do not cool evenly. Items in the back could freeze while things are the door are only coolish. The freezer is much better. Smaller area so thing stay frozen. I suggest a buyer get a battery powered fan for the refrigerator.

I have only been able to retest the refrigerator. I'll get to use it in a couple weeks. The freezer works great and the refrigerator seems to get down to 38 def F. At it's coolest setting. It fit the opening in my Grand design 295rl just fine. I could not use the existing wire to power it. The new 2/3 wire that I ran works fine I did add a circuit breaker online on the positive side. The reason it only for 4 stars is due to a lack of a door stop. I couldn't even find where they offer one. I'll have to make one.

This fridge came with our new Rockwood camper. I love the space.Would have liked wire shelves instead of glass in an rv but its not a problem. Seems to be a lot louder than I would expect. Never had a compressor fridge in a rv so I don't know what to expect. When it is running I can feel it vibrating and hear it even if standing next to the camper outside.I guess I expect it to be like our home fridge.

I was amazed at the great looks and how it kept our products cold in our brand new 2023 RV. After a year I noticed having trouble regulating the temperature in the bottom , so I bought a temp gauge to see if that would help us find a medium setting to keep our food cold. Finally after just two years it just quit working at all. Only the light worked. Right before our planned trip.😏 Hope this new replacement lasts longer than 2 years🙏

I wanted to give GE a chance in their recent entry into the RV/boat market so when it came time to replace my fridge in my RV I was happy to see that there was a GE option. I'm now beginning to re-think my purchase however. I've had cooling issues ever since it was installed. The freezer isn't so much the problem as it is the refrigerator portion. Initially, it wasn't cooling the fridge properly. I have 2 thermostats located inside and both were reading 41 degrees Fahrenheit which is outside the proper cooling range of (35 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit). I had a technician out twice to look at it and both times he gave me different reasons as to why there is an issue. First time was that "there was grease on the thermometer he wiped off and to let it defrost for 24 hrs. Second time was that I didn't have enough food/drinks in it. The tech also pointed an infrared thermometer (temperature) gun at the inside and I was told that "the ambient temperature was showing warm but that the drinks that were in there were at the correct temperature". Now it's hard for me to trust what I'm being told and the problem still doesn’t seem to be fixed. I've since added more food/drinks (being mindful of proper airflow) and have it set to the "coolest" setting and it barely registers it that proper cooling temperature range. Also, there is ice buildup on the back inside wall, was told on the first appt. that "there's moisture getting inside somehow". SMH

It's a little louder than my old fridge. Was fast cooling down. The mounting bracket would be nice to have with the fridge. I need to order it as it would fall over out of the slide with out it. The real bummer is glass shelves in an RV Fridge....really? Hit one bump and crash goes the shelves. Other than that it runs off my 100 wat solar setup just fine. No power company blues. Nice and cold fast. Nice layout in the door cubbies and 12v way more room than a evap set up. 5 stars when you get rid of the glass. I'm making some stainless shelves.

I purchased this refridgerator as a replacement for my RV refridgerator. There are no frills about this refridgerator. There is no display. There is dial inside the refridgerator that controls the refridgerator and freezer temp. It is also the off switch. When we park our camper we usually turn off the refridgerator and open the doors. You can't do that with this model. The light in the fridge will remain on, even with the fridge in the off setting. If I wasn't in the middle of a camping trip when my refidgerator went out, and this was the only model the camping world had, I probably would not have bought this model.

Temperature varies constantly going from 45F down to 34F and we are constantly adjusting in very small increments to try to find a temp that will keep it around 38-40F. So far have not been able to get it dialed in. Otherwise, size and storage containers are good. The 6 can holders in the door are a bit awkward to use and would prefer to just have a shelf instead.

This refrigerator is much bigger than the one in our old camper. Unfortunately it does have fairly wide temperature swings even with the door closed. The back of the refrigerator gets covered in ice very quickly.

First, it is too small for the RV if one was traveling often. Two, the temp control is not easy to adjust. I have had to drop the dial down to and close to the off indicator because the lower cold setting creates Ice in a pickel jar, Iced up walls in the freezer.

At the highest setting, the freezer is much colder than it needs to be but because of non-uniformity in the fridge section, that setting is required. Rear of fridge is at jeopardy of freezing while the front area of the lowest shelf is barely in the proper temp zone for refrigerated items.

Any setting above cool will freeze the refrigerator up after a few hours. As you add or remove and food or drinks you have to compensate and adjust the temp setting. Have already lost several cans of soda and froze an entire gallon of milk when set half way between cool and cold. Not sure its supposed to do this.

The dealer feels it needs another hinge which has been ordered but not received. Cannot review effectively until the part is installed and see if it corrects the problem.

So far we are not happy with this refrig. I contacted your support for the small crack in the freezer. The refrigerator freezes up on the back wall . It gets very hot between the refrigerator and freezer. We have had campers for about 24 years, NEVER had this issue. We are happy with the size, color and look of it. Just not how it works. Hopefully G.E./ KEYSTONE/SCHIEKS can get this fixed or replaced. Then if all is well, 5 star review.

Door latch fails when traveling, not designed properly for RVs’. Does not keep temp consistent in the refer section, freezes food at the top and spoils food at the bottom shelves. Freezes and thaws food in the freezer. Needs separate controls for refer and freezer. Needs fan to circulate air for consistent temperature. Needs proper locking door latches.

Being a 12V product the target is surely RVs. The operating temperature range is 55F to 100F. Now, RV's are rather poorly insulated from the exterior temperature so the fridge is not going to work properly if the temperature is below 55F. In other words, when installed in the typical RV the fridge will not cool sufficiently most nights of the year in most of the states. My experience was excatly that. Every cool evening the fridge stopped working and the food would spoil. In defense of GE they do make this issue clear and the RV It's manufactuers should make sure that can be used within specification. Or course they don't. So, maybe GE should work with them to educate them as to more suitable devices, if any exist.

This fridge came with my Winnebago trailer. On the very first trip it has shown itself to be a massive power hog (used up nearly 73ah over 24hrs of use), and on the "COLD" setting it completely froze up the top of the refrigerator compartment, which ended up being at 9C (way too hot for food safety), while the freezer ended up at -20C (way too cold). I've had many 12v compressor fridges and never had such issues. This GE fridge simply doesn't work as it should.

Very disappointed with this unit. I’ve had several rv trailers before with very good refrigerators. This one is nice and fancy but it did not last a year and it already quit working. I got home and all my food spoiled because it quit working. Now they don’t want to help me. Neither the place where I bought or GE. My rv stinks because of bad fridge. I will never recommend a GE product.

We have had the frig evaluated twice at the RV dealer due to condensation and then frost formation on the back wall of the main compartment. Occurs even when door is not opened (which was what the dealer told us was the issue- user error) and not matter what the thermostat setting is. Food in the back quarter of main compartment freezes and must be thrown away. Also the T-latch that is supposed to hold the door securely shut during travel has at least a 1/4+ gap and does not even touch the doors to keep them shut. When in position I can actually insert my fingers into the frig door. we have insert pieces of cardboard between the latch and the door to close the gap and make sure the door stays shut during travel. Very poor design

We bought an Aurora rv by Forest River and it came with GE Profile stainless steel appliances. They look great and are happy with them except the fridge. It does not keep a consistent temperature and seems to run constantly. It was rather noisy until I leveled it out and adjusted the bracket that was installed with it in the cabinet. We have a thermometer in the refer and the temp varies from 35° to 48°f while barely adjusting the temp knob. During this adjustment the freezer varies from hard as a rock ice cream to melting ice cream. Annoying!

I am rather disappointed. Purchased the RV Feb 2023. It worked well for the first year. Freezer stayed nice and cold, and even though we had some ice in the back of the fridge, it worked well. However, this past July, barely out of warranty, it died just after we filled it and left for a camping trip. What's worse, is I can't find a local repair company for 12V fridges, and I REALLY don't want to take a non-warranty issue back to the dealership to wait 4 months for an over-priced fix.

Have had the fridge less than 2 years and can wait to get rid of it. It has been giving me problems since day one. It hardly ever turns off and the settings knob doesn’t seem to have much of an effect on the temperature inside. It drains my 100ahr battery in 10hrs because it doesn’t shut off.

This fridge came with our 23’ Bullet travel Trailer, went out on a trip last November and December Fridge worked great. Then this past June we went on another trip fridge was not cooling at all, even on the battery power to keep the food cool. When we got back home took it to the shop and they had to replace the Circuit board, well long story short fridge still won’t cool. Don’t know… and it’s still Under warranty. Need GE to fix this issue asap. Or replace the fridge.

Overall an excellent refrigerator, as far as size and function, unfortunately the temperature is just not as cold as it should be and varies way too much. Without changing the settings the freezer can swing from as low as -9 to +18 fahrenheit while the refrigerator freezes our food.

GE 12V Fridge

We purchased a new camper and this GE 12v Model #: GPV10FSNBSB was part of package. I heard good things about the 12v fridge so was happy to try something different from the older style gas/elec fridge. The good is they cool down in about 2 hrs or less, compared to 24 hrs with our old one. Much larger interior space 9.8cu ft The Bad, fridge section will stay at 40-42 deg on the coldest setting, with using an added fan. Door lock likes to come open during travel. Shelves are flat at front, so need to put items in baskets or they will be all over after travel. 2x had the door ajar after reaching camp site. We are just weekend campers, used 7 weekends, and when I contacted GE about service ,I was told it is 2 weeks out of warranty. Yes one year after date of purchase ,but not one year after 1st use. Way to stand behind your product GE, also they offer NO extended warranty for RV products.

I thought I "upgraded" to pure DC fridge, not realizing GE provides no support and mobile RV repair people will not work on because GE will not give them troubleshooting information or parts. It worked first few times using the camper, but just outside of 1 year warranty it stopped working and cannot get anyone to look at it. I just replaced thermostat, still doesn't work, guess try replacing the control board...

What a piece of junk. We bought the Winnebago trailer new a little over a year ago and, unfortunately, it had a GE refrigerator, instead of a Dometic. The first time we used it everyone froze, regardless of the temperature setting. We took it to the dealer where we purchased it an d they claimed there was nothing wrong. Then just after the warranty expired the second time we used the trailer, the fridge quit. Now we have to incur the cost of replacing it. I will never have a GE appliance again!!! Junk!!!

It either freezes everything in the refrigerator part or it gets over 40 degrees in the refrigerator section which is higher than recommended temperature for food storage. Frost on the back wall of the refrigerator is also a problem. Now I know there gonna say “here is a website to try and remedy the frost, it builds up when the refrigerator is closed for a week at a time, it ain’t because the door is opened and closed all the time. Can barely get to 40 degrees. Always runs and never and I mean never shuts off no matter what temperature setting. Leaves a coating of ice all over the back wall in a day. 3 Battleborn lithium 100AH and 600 watts of solar are what's running this thing but look out if you have some cloudy days and longer autumn and spring nights. Glad I carry a Honda generator. Like how the corporations want to be all "green" and put an end to propane refrigerators yet don't leave home without your fossil fuel generator to power this current hungry inefficient hog. You'll have spoiled food in no time at all. Very disappointed.

I got stuck with one of these things in an Ember Overland Series. Freezes up on the back wall in one day with a sheet of ice. Constantly.....and I mean constantly runs. Never shuts off and draws around 10.5 amps with a clamp fluke meter. Doesn't matter what setting you set the thermostat at either. Total energy hog, need to go back to propane if this is the best GE can do. Not impressed. All the one star ratings I can confirm. Don't but the RV if one of these are mounted in it.

I am so disappointed with this appliance. We are having significant frost building up on the back of the REFRIGERATOR WALL. I can actually scrape it off, like snow!! It then create items that are placed in the back of the fridge to freeze, which limits the amount of food I can put in the fridge. In our last motorhome, we never had this problem. With a brand new camper I would have expected a better product!

Worked during our walkthrough, but it was shutoff for a couple weeks before our 1st trip. It would not work after. Took it to the dealer and after after messing with the control in the refrigerator, it started working, but stopped after a few hours. I got it back working again, but it quit overnight. Seems like a bad connection or controller.

This refrigerator is not good for dry camping. It’s runs 40 or so Minutes each hour, uses a lot of battery, and ice builds up in the back making it only worse.

Broke second time out

Came installed in new rock wood mini lite travel trailer. Quit working second trip out. After reading other reviews, this seems to be a common occurrence. In my estimation around 10-20% of the reviews show the unit fails in under a month or so. GE, please figure out what is wrong with your units and implement some quality control. Also, the stainless shows fingerprints like crazy.

Stopped chilling after less than 2 years

Purchased this product Oct 21, 2020 and today August 20, 2022, the fridge is no longer keeping items cold. It was always very uneven with the chill factor where it would freeze items near the back of the fridge and the freezer was hit and miss on keeping cold. Luckily I bought the extended service plan and hope it can be repaired but as you know it will most likely be weeks of using coolers for our food. The stainless steel also is not fingerprint proof and always has finger prints on the door.

Noisy and runs a lot

Ran constantly and was very noisy our first trip out. Weather was not hot.. Back of the inside of the fridge iced up. Will have to see how it does on the next trip; so far the fridge is the disappointing part of our new camper.

On our first trip, we had food sliding back and forth against the door. This led to the latch pin vibrating out. All the food was on the floor snd the door was open when we checked it during a stop. Is there a fix?

ok camper refrig if you have ac power available

My GPV10 refrig isn't able to run for extended periods (more than a day) without ac power. According to specs the average running loan is about 79 watts, using 104 AH / day. I have found these specs to be pretty accurate. I found the average running loan about 70 watts. I can't tell how many hours a day it runs, it's probably about 15 hours a day. Even with a solar panel and a generator it drains my battery. By day 2 without AC and running the generator 3 + hours a day and the solar panel 4 + hours a day it drains 2 deep cycle camper batteries. (The day time high temps were about 70 and the night time lows were about 50. As a camper refirg this doesn't work for me. We don't always camp in places with AC power so without AC we can only stay a day or maybe 2, with a generator and solar panels. Nice refirg but not for off grid camping. Also, I can't set the temp to be warmer than 40 degrees.

Terrible Product

We have had our RV for a year and this refrigerator has never worked properly. The first couple of trips I thought it was I just needed to get used to finding the proper temperature setting. The back wall froze up and even froze things in the back. The food on the door seemed warm but thermometer seemed to register within normal range. On the last trip we took it froze almost all of our food and we ended up throwing away a lot of the fruits and vegetables. We have taken to the dealership and they are giving us the run around on the warranty process. I just want this replaced so we can continue on our camping trips, I have to cancel 2 already.
